Well stocked and food value. Staff slightly hit or miss in terms of helpfulness. Found what I wanted and didn't pay as much as I would have at Dobbies (or other nurseries nearby)

Best Garden center I've ever been to! Plenty of stock. Art and craft supplies, furniture, pet supplies, books, gifts. Has a Regatta and Craghoppers outdoor clothing section. Helpful staff. Staff work really hard to keep things tidy. Plants healthy. The restaurant food is amazing. Lovely selection of cakes. Would recommend the cooked breakfast. Food comes out so quick. Tables are always clean. Seating areas indoors and outdoors. When sunny weather it's nice to sit outdoors. There is also a playground for kids. Dog friendly they supply water bowls. Garden center also sells fresh baked goods and wine in the food section. There is also an art gallery and museum section. Great day out for family or visiting alone. Peaceful atmosphere. Relaxing music is played in the store.

Exceptional garden centre; whatever I need, I seem to always be able to get in there, whether it's plants, bbq stuff, garden lights, gifts, it's not cheap but always good quality. Playground for kids a nice touch and the restaurant is great for both breakfast and lunch. We recently bought some garden furniture which again has proved to be great quality and we've been really pleased with it. There are some really good garden centres in the mid sussex area, however I think this one is probably the best.

My first visit, its an absolutely fabulous nursery. There were so many things to look at, gifts, garden furniture, ornaments, clothing, handbags, plants, the list goes on and on. Even the art gallery was wonderful. We had lunch in the cafe which is very popular and understandable so. The food was delicious, nicely presented, and the wait reasonable. I loved the decor, the beams and lighting were stunning. We are definitely going again, and it's inspired me for Christmas gifts. I could spend hours in there, no wonder the carpark is so large! I'm sure others feel the same πŸ˜ƒ

We came to just enjoy the day with my family To get some garden accessories and plants for our new house, it was really nice place plenty of beautiful plants to choose and stuff, we decided to have lunch with our chihuahua after ordering food in the counter with our small dog we sat on the table eating our lovely dinner when a member of staff approaches us and told us that dog are not allowed so we have to move with our food into a cafe area, it was so embarrassing that they didn’t told us while we are in the counter ordering food where they can clearly say that dogs are not allowed where they are allowed everywhere else. We just feel so embarrassed and humiliated that we didn’t even finish our food and just decided to go and not buy anything else.

Tates Garden Centres Online ordering service is appalling. The tech admin process is very badly set up, there is no no email or txt sent out to confirm delivery date. I had The Old Barn Dial Post give me information regarding my online order that proved to be totally wrong. When the delivery arrived from Southdowns Garden Centre Hassocks I had to return over half the order because the plants were totally dried out brown leaves, dead flowers and only fit for the bin. Even the van delivery men were embarrassed and apologising. This is the second time that I have had issues with orders and I would say that as lovely as the actual centres are DO NOT use their order services IN ANY WAY, they are a disaster!😩😀

Food was good, cutlery and glasses fresh out the wash, however only niggle was the glasses still looked filthy, I think it was more scratches than dirty πŸ˜… so maybe some of the glasses need refreshing. Otherwise, easy to access baby changing in the disabled toilets, wondered round quite happily. Lots to look at and lots I wanted πŸ˜… Parking was okay, as we parked up and round to the left, there's not really clear markings for a path outside so with some dodgy drivers was dodge the cars. πŸ˜† will probably visit again but at a hopefully less busy time.

A couple of people said to me they were shocked to see people allowing their dogs to sit on the seats and people feeding them on the tables while staff seemed oblivious. Also someone said they refused an ice cream because the girl serving it wasn't wearing gloves and had just handled money from the till. I guess that's understandable considering we have just come out of a pandemic. Maybe staff need a little more training on hygiene and being more aware of what's going on in the restaurant. Still, it's a great place to visit with plenty to see.
