We visited The Tetley today with friends for a Sunday lunch and thought it was brilliant. The staff were very attentive, and the food was absolutely fantastic, with good sized portions at a very reasonable price. Will not hesitate to return!

The best roast beef Sunday lunch we have had. Beef still pink, plenty of vegetables, roasties and a large yorkshire pudding what more could you ask for. The waitress kindly asked if we would like more gravy Yes please The largest jug of steaming gravy came back Delicious Highly recommend we will definitely be back

Tom and I came here for a quick pint and chit chat after we had enjoyed a trip on the Leeds water taxis. I really liked the building which was full of information about the history of Tetley brewery. I found this fascinating. We got a couple of well priced pints (mostly under 5 pound each which for the city centre nowadays is excellent, what with the world we live in these days). Lots of people were having food and the menu did look exciting but on this occasion we did not order food. Maybe next time.

We are so sad this place has closed (just for now hopefully?). The food was epic and as a vegetarian I love that the main menu is veggie and there is a smaller, additional meat menu. I had the mock lamb flatbread and it was delish. I’d love to see this menu live on elsewhere!

I had a lovely Sunday lunch here with my parents. The food was really good, I especially liked the fact the vegetables were properly cooked and the meat was very nicely served. There was also plenty of gravy. The wine was good with a reasonable choice on the wine list of wine by the glass. I thought it was a very nice place to go for lunch. The service was lovely and the staff were friendly and welcoming. We'd definitely come back again as it's worth a repeat visit.

Booked in advance for 2pm. Table service was shocking from the moment we were seated, not busy but 3 group tables. Told we could not order dinner as small delay in kitchen, 1hour later roast dinner served and all I can stay is that it looked as though it had be sat for an hour in the kitchen, 1 roast potato which I actually asked was it a potatoe. The waitress didn’t answer just walked away. Management knew they were in the wrong offered us an alternative meal, it was not edible we drank our drink and left hungry. Waitress who served us needs to learn customer service skills.. as shocking as the food. Manager very nice but too little too late absolutely ruined my planned dinner with son who is at Leeds university.

We were walking towards the Royal Amouries Museum and noticed the remains of the old Tetleys Brewery. There is an Art Space on the first floor and a pleasant café bar on the ground floor. We enjoyed two good quality flat whites which cost £5.20. The service was very pleasant but unfortunately they do not take cash.

Starters were good. Mains poor. For some reason my beef was served with minted new potatoes? The Yorkshire pudding was flabby, not crisp at all. My son opted for the fish and chips which was some kind of goujon with little potatoes cubes. Terrible.

Came here with two friends, my wife, and our two children. Walked in, were taken around back to near where the front door was (so we were pretty cold all the way through). The server (obviously new) originally tried to put us all on what looked like a huge workbench but his supervisor corrected the mistake. After my wife asked for a straw for her pint of coke, he came back with a small cocktail straw, which was no use to anyone. We came here on a Sunday so had the roast menu (after initially being given the wrong menu and having to ask for the right one). I had the pork belly, which included two razor thin slices that looked boiled, a 50p-sized little lump of stuffing, and crackling that looked like it had come from a packet and had been left out for hours (chewy as hell; couldn't eat it). The veg (2 carrots and some shredded cabbage) and Yorkshire pudding were edible at least. This single meal costs £14... £14!!! We'd have gotten better quality at a Toby Carvery for a fraction of the cost!!! There's no excuse for such poor quality when there's like 5 items on the menu. Not only that, they add on a service charge to boot! The only positives from the experience was that they got our order right and the lady at reception (not even part of the restaurant) gave our children some colouring sheets and pencils. Other than that, it was awful and we won't be returning.

We went for lunch before looking around the exhibition and it wasn’t great. The positives were the food which was delicious, and nice quiet setting on the edge of the city. On the flip side. Service was very slow and disinterested, there were only two vegan options marked on the menu and it was only after ordering that we learnt one actually wasn’t vegan. Might go for a drink but wouldn’t eat here again.

Visited here for Sunday Lunch, after going months like everyone else to finally go out for a good old fashioned roast, fair to say we was looking forward to visiting. However we wish we'd of waited a little longer for a traditional carvery to open, although the little food we did have was nice. We left feeling even more hungry than we did when we arrived, but now also nearly £20 down each. For £14.50 for a Sunday roast you'd expect a lot more food on your plate, rather than a single slice of Lamb, 3 roasties, 1 yorkshire pudding, and a babies handful of veg. If your not a big eater then this would be perfect for you, however for the menu to state it was a large version of the meal is a joke! Aswell as a complete rip off. The menu also stated a 'glass bottle of coke' which I know is a novelty to some people who love receiving it in the traditional glass bottle, however it was a normal coke can which was presented to us.

Took my boyfriend visiting Leeds here for a special brunch but was quite let down really. There was a wedding on causing a lot of chaos and both the staff and guests weren’t very mindful of other visitors to the establishment. We had to find our own menus and ask someone if we could eat and then the food wasn’t up to the standard we expected. I know the staff have no control over the wedding but they could’ve made more of an effort to ensure the wedding area was more contained.

Tried this a few times now over the last twelve months or so as I work nearby and unfortunately it's not a viable place to spend a work lunch break! First time put it down to being a bit busy but last two it's become a bit of a joke, no chance will you get a sandwich in a lunch hour which is not great. Last two times I've had to chase an order. It can't be a particularly fun place to work because everytime there seem to be missing orders, confusion or people unhappy. The gallery is great and the food is reasonable when it arrives but can't believe someone hasn't got hold of it a bit more, as it's every single time. Won't be bothering again.

I returned the dish and was brought a refund after the bar attendant consulted with the Manager. I had to request a glass of tap water which was brought to me. We had lunch on the Sunday and were amazed at the quality of the food served, both having the roast beef, which was very rare and only difficult to cut due to the rubbish cutlery. On the basis of this experience we decided to return for a mid week treat as the brunch menu sounded delicious. A full english with runny eggs requested alongside Eggs Benedict. There was only a handful of people around so really not busy. The eggs benidict arrived and looked very disappointing, the ham looking so thin and wilted looked like something out of a supermarket pre pack. It was so luke warm which made the bagel quite chewy. To note this also arrived on its own. Some 5 minutes later the full English arrived. Looked quite nice, however, one of the two eggs was burst, and covered in a good sprinkling of pepper. Now call me fussy but I do not like pepper on anything, let alone on my eggs. This was highlighted to staff who duly arranged for a replacement egg, which arrived almost as I had finished eating and was again covered in pepper. So, my feedback is... Please produce food as requested and don't serve eggs that are not as requested, and don't assume all customers want pepper. Please also ensure meals are brought out together. This attention to detail resulted in a lovely meal becoming an average meal. I would come back to try again in the hope the feedback has made a difference.

I visit the Tetley each month to go to the tiny Tetley sessions with my son.. they’re free and lots of fun (although missing Steph because her sessions were the best!) We always stop for lunch afterwards or a cream tea, and I regularly bring the whole family here for a meal out because of the handy location/parking. There is a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere and the menu caters for everyone, a family friendly venue. I have previously had negative dining experiences here and sometimes the service is somewhat forgetful, even at quiet times. However when the food has been unsatisfactory, the managing staff have always rectified the situation. And the great experiences we’ve had here outweigh the poor.

I have recently visited tetley brewery for Mother’s Day lunch, our food took absolutely ages to come out which is probably the reason it came out cold it was completely inedible. When the waitress came over with the sauce I politely said it was cold to which she huffed, minutes later she came back with the bitten sandwich which had just been thrown in the microwave which made it absolutely disgusting. I would never imagine being served the same food half eaten just thrown in a microwave, due to us sat outside no one came out to check how the food was because quite frankly it was vile. I paid for the food before eating it which is a shame because I really would not have paid for microwaved food. All in all terrible experience and will never return

Just one word Excellent. What was more outstanding was the price £8.95 walk another 1/4 mile up the road into the city centre and the price would double .

We recently had our work Christmas dinner here so not a typical dining experience maybe but it's one of the worst meals I've had for many a long day.

This was a pre-booked family birthday meal which was highly disappointing. There were quite a lot of us, however did not expect our meals to be delivered to us all at separate times whereby some people had finished their meal but others had not even received theirs yet! You would expect more for the price that you pay and would like to think that a restaurant/pub place like this would be more on the ball. When it came to paying the bill, the incorrect items had been put on the tabs that had been set up which I thought was also poor, however the manager did try to rectify this by offering free puddings and not wanting us to go away ‘disappointed’.. least to say we will not be returning.

Really disappointing experience. The food was really poor and the service was terrible. I definitely wouldn't recommend eating here. Quote from someone I was there with 'worst meal ever'

we have eaten here several times and the food and service is always top notch. But the best for me by far are the daily special pies (Ham Hock, Beef with stilton and Ham,turkey, beef with wenslydale pies), they are all superb and also very cheap including chips and gravy, you wont be dissapointed.

So yes, a reasonable choice of veggie food on the lunch menu; friendly staff - you order at the bar and then they bring it to you. A very good halloumi cheese burger with both fries and onion rings. I know it's really trendy to serve food on small wooden boards, but the experience would have been so much more pleasurable with a plate; the board was too small for the amount of food so bits of my meal would fall onto the table or into my lap, which was just silly. Other than that, a very enjoyable place to go. A very moving memorial to Tetley Brewery staff who were killed in the First World War just inside the entrance to the building, which has been preserved from when the building was a working brewery.

We are reviewing the restaurant here, not the Gallery. We dropped-in late on a weekday afternoon. We opted for take-away, which the kitchen does not have containers for, because of the general noisiness and the loud thumping music in the dining-room. The fish in the fish-&-chips was a big chunk cooked to tenderness, and delicious. The chips were tender too. The chicken, bacon, and cheddar sandwich was quite satisfying, having plenty of meat.

Sausage sandwich. Picture very thick brown bread that's been toasted just long enough to remove any moisture but not long enough to toast it. Then add two small dry sausages. That's it. Had to ask for butter, which came too hard to spread on the now cold sandwich. It was genuinely funny.

Had a good pint of Tetley Cask, very smooth, and large portions of fish and chips which were very good. Nice family atmosphere but a bit disappointed that it wasn’t a vintage interior, a little modern and bland, not what we expected.

I took a group for Saturday lunch, we pre ordered from a given menu and it worked well. The menu was good and covered all dietary requirements (so nice to go somewhere where the vegetarian option wasn't risotto or pasta!) The food was good and hot, and service was friendly and efficient.

Front of house staff are always attentive, polite and try their very best to please customers. The coffee is lovely. Ingredients are high quality. Here are my grumbles -Every visit we ask for mushrooms to be just mushrooms. No garlic on our bacon and mushroom butties, maybe 1 week in 4 the chef manages this.Poached eggs would be lovely were they not poached in vinegar! It's not that difficult to poach an egg without it arriving smelling so strongly.Listen to the customers as you need them to return!

I am not one to post reviews but my partner and l were very disappointed by our breakfast at Tetley. I ordered a bacon and egg sandwich and my partner ordered a full english. My sandwich was very poor. The bread was soggy, bacon not well done, as requested, and very fatty and my egg was over done with a hard yolk. My partners breakfast was a little greasy and the mushrooms and sausage was were unpleasant.Despite being hungry we both didn't finish our meals. Not one to complain - we didn't but the serving staff collected our plates and never even asked if everything was ok with our meals. We will not be returning!

We had a baby shower for 18 at Tetleys on a saturday afternoon. We were given a set area and able to set up half an hour before. All the staff couldnt be any more accommodating. We were offered a set time the afternoon tea would come out to our table and able to pick any hot drink to accompany it. I would definatley recommend this venue and the afternoon tea was lovely.

I arrived at the Tetley car park in plenty of time for my date with my cousins. I had £5 in £1 coins especially for the car park. And here the nightmare began. Well it was raining and blowing a wind, even in July, and when I tried to pay to park it would not take the new £1 coins. It suggested I download an app and pay that way..... (oh they would not charge the 50p extra to use app this time - but I dont do apps); so I had a problem, then a young woman suggestes I use my credit card as she just had. So I tried and it took my money, but I couldnt find the ticket, so thought maybe I hadnt done it correctly so I did it again, by now I had spent £10 to just go for lunch. I then discover where the tickets come out. It is still raining, and I am wet through and my feel in sandals are wet. So I have two tickets, someone suggestes finding the carpark assistant and ask his advice, so I trail around the car park, getting wetter, and later for my date. Finally find him and he suggests I Ring the office..... so I trapse back to my car and the machine and get the office number. Speak to a nice young woman who says they will refund the money if I take a photo of the two tickets and e mail it to them. OK I can do this, but I have friends who dont have the technology to do so. If I can say the parking fiasco ruined my trip to the Tetley. So that when I ate there I wasnt impressed with the grissle called meat stew. Shame as staff were nice; although when I complained did nothing about the horrible meat. So not sure I will go again.

It is very rare to eat at a venue with so much choice when you're a vegetarian. It is really impressive & the food is great. Very relaxed & chilled in either the bar or restaurant or sitting in a deck chair in the sun in the beer garden. Joy! Great staff team who are happy, friendly, helpful and hard working. Really enjoyed my visit.

Happy helpful staff and a good menu. A little too noisy for conversation however. Plenty of parking available in the public car park next door.

In the Old Tetley's brewery the bar and restaurant were quiet on a Wednesday lunchtime. Service was reasonable and the menu broad, including a specials board.I chose a steak pie which had a decent meaty filling. The pastry was thick and dry but the pie came with a welcome jug of gravy. The price was average for Leeds city centre.I'd go there again.

Having been to Tetleys before and had a nice meal we returned again with some family. We all chose chicken and bacon pie, the presentation of the meals were superb but the taste of the pies were disappointing. The chicken was dry and felt like it was yesterdays left overs. All of the party said the same. Will try again at a later date and hope things have improved.

Don't really write reviews but really disappointed with this place so thought I would. Been here a couple times just for a coffee/beer and I like the bar and restaurant space. With a few mates in Leeds looking for a good lunch on a Sunday and thought here would be ideal - all of us very disappointed. Veggie burgers were comical. Tiny and tasteless, tough and chewy bun with very few chips. Salads, again tiny, had no dressing and no flavour, one was plain lentils with some greens stuck arbitrarily in them. Who serves plain lentils and calls it a salad? Top it all, a few hairs found at the bottom of one of the salad bowls. Quality of food was poor, but it was the size of the portions were what really got me. Left feeling conned.

£4.50 for parking. Modern industrial interior...Staff excellent....food...well.....my Tetley Marinated Chicken Burger with extra bacon cost nigh on £12. French fries, onion rings, a bit of bacon, salad and a bun do not cost much so I presume the piece of chicken was where the main expense was incurred...or was it the Tetley Marinade? I know there are staff costs but the burger etc. were 'bog standard'. £9-£10 would be more realistic.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. Been in here today and witnessed a woman talk to the bar staff (who are fantastic by the way) in the most disgusting, disrespectful and horrible way in front of a pub full of customers. I'm absolutely appalled. How a woman of that age can act in such an abhorrent way is unbelievable. I will never set foot in there again if that's who's profiting from my custom. Vile behaviour.

Nice pub, warm and comfy with new Christmas meal offers and Christmas drinks too. We had the chocolate orange espresso martini which was absolutely lush. 2 for £9.00 too which was great. Even the coffee is great so I would highly recommend.

A comfortable and welcoming pub. Very friendly and attentive staff, quiz night every Monday and I have never been disappointed with the food and drinks, which are of course all reasonably priced.

Staff Great Main course Rissoto was just a mussy mess lacked taste and Asparagus burnt Chicken was like rubber and broccoli so badly burnt was not edible . Dessert choclate fondant and ice cream good. We were told that a trainee was in the kitchen while the head chef was somewhere else . This was a gift from a special person so very disappointed. We were offered coffee but declined
