This place used to be great- amazing food and price - now it is the worst food, and packaging. Paper and plastic flying everywhere. How could anyone let this happen. Now athletes are having to eat junk food and high price cans of fizz rather than the many wholesome salads they previously served. It’s an embarrassment! Many take their own food now. Not surprising.

Me and my two sisters went here for dinner. We all left feeling a little scammed because both the food and service was poor. The food was so bland and tasteless that we all agreed we can and have cooked better food ourselves. I ordered a curry and I feel like some of the instant curry powders you can buy tasted better. The drinks took a ridiculous amount of time to receive. When we went to pay the bill we noted that the cost on the menu didn't include VAT or a service charge. We spent more than we wanted to on food that was terrible.

My family and I recently moved to Waltham Abbey. When asking around, the Terrace Bar came highly recommended! The food and drink is really nice, it’s clean, spacious and the view is gorgeous! What stands out the most for me, is the staff. They are so friendly and welcoming! I bring my 2 year old with me and they are very accommodating. Will definitely become a regular for us :)

I recently discovered the Terrace Bar & Cafe at the Lee Valley White Water Centre. A real gem and definitely somewhere that will become a regular place to eat/drink for my family. The staff are so friendly and welcoming! The food and drinks are great!

This is great place to chill out or to meet family. We always have lovely Latte's being regular customers. There is a good choice of drinks and snacks always available, served by a great polite happy team. We would like to thank the staff for their good work, and will be down to see you again soon.

Sausage roll with bacon in it - what's not to like? Bar is decent with some premium largers to enjoy. When the sunshine is out, its a nice play to go chill for the afternoon.

I'm not sure about all the other negative postings, but I thought it had a great atmosphere where you could sit outside and watch the activities, or sit inside. Food was reasonably priced for London area (about £4.5 for 1/2 a pizza) and under £3 for a sandwich. Although not the best quality, it was fine. People do leave dirty dishes on the tables, and it takes some time for them to get cleared up, so maybe introducing a used tray rack would be helpful. The staff were very pleasant.

Whilst a great time was had by all on the actual rafting it was all marred by the attitude of your Terrace Restaurant Staff after. Your bar person was extremely rude to my husband, Sister-in-Law, niece and nephew. What isn’t made clear at the time of booking is that everything shuts down at 7pm - if your Terrace bar staff do not wish to work after this time then surely you should not allow parties to book in for the 5pm rafting which is a 2 hour session - by the time rafters return their kit and get changed etc they are not going to get to the Terrace Bar until at least 7.15. The food and drink was unceremoniously dumped on the table with no plates, cutlery or napkins. When I went to get napkins from another bar I was told not to take those as they were bringing some out even though they never arrived. We were not given the option to buy a soft drink for the drivers and whilst out party was still eating the shutters were pulled down and the bar was locked up not even giving anyone the chance to use the toilets before driving home. I really think you should revise your “party bookings” to let people know that if they book the 5pm Rafting session that they will receive appalling and rude service at your Terrace Bar - or maybe not allow rafting sessions after 4pm in order to give people who have paid out for the meal and drinks a chance to enjoy them in a far nicer atmosphere.

Good venue to sit in the sun on a warm day, so this fitted the bill for Good Friday afternoon. Comfy settees to sit on. Had a cappuccino, which was OK but not great. Disappointingly it was served in a disposable paper cup rather than in crockery. Not so good, plus bad for the environment. Looked like they were short of staff as no one was clearing away dirty cups or plates from tables, so the outside terrace looked litter strewn and shabby. Plenty of free parking at the White Water centre.

Bigger, not as pricey and better range and quality of food than when we visited previously but slow service so hot food was almost cold by the time you paid for it, dirty glasses and cutlery that we had to clean ourselves. I would probably use it again whilst at the white water centre because it has no competition but it could be a lot better.

Despite this Cafe being located at a white water centre you cannot get a drink there if you have been on the course and are wet. I often visit LV and do a 10am legacy session followed by a 12pm Olympic session. Its nice to have a break between sessions but beware if you are wet the staff will turn you away. "Sorry you can't come in here in your kayaking gear you might make the floor wet which is a health and safety issue" I don't recall ever seeing it closed when it has been raining, obviously the wrong kind of water. I now don't bother with this place, I just take a flask with me!

The white water center and Lee Valley are excellent, this cafe is in a great location, it's a good size and has loads of seating inside and out with decent rattan furniture with cushions outside for the hoards of all round visitors. The footfall must be tremendous, yet this place is shocking. It took over 10 mins to get 2 very badly made cappucinos whilst 3 of the 5 staff at the coffee counter stood around talking. The milk and coffee are nowhere near the coffee area especially if you order coffe to go or for sitting outside. The place needs some proper management, The food behind the glass adjacent to where you get the coffee looked like it was fossilised and is overpriced. It's a shame as we frequent Lee Valley quite a bit but won't be going to The Terrace again in a hurry.

We only had a couple of sherbets there but the place was nice, even though crowded. There was a barbecue outside and the burger and chips looked nice with generous portions. Decent value @ £6:00 I thought - especially for London.

My experience was obviously better than the other reviewers on here. Admittedly this is not the most organised cafe and our order got confused between the till and the servery. However, it was sorted quickly and easily and the bacon and sausage sandwiches were lovely when they came. Three sausages and loads of bacon in French style rolls worth the £3.50 each they cost. Terrace outside is a pleasant place to sit too.

If you want to eat before or after an activity at this centre then you are better spending your money on much better food elsewhere. The food was as miserable as the women that served us. By the time we got back to our table my jacket potato was cold and the tuna was like mush. The cheeseburgers that we paid £6.50 each for (with no fries) were also cold and tasted vile. I paid out nearly £20.00 for three meals (if you can call them that) there were not edible and served on a cardboard tray and we had to use plastic knife and forks - not great when they are charging those kind of prices and trying to be up-market! There was a deli? not something that I would have thought to be at a 'family' place. There is not much variety for a 'family' place will definitely not be eating there again. . It does not take a lot to wash cutlery especially when we are trying to cut out plastics in our environment - very tacky ! There is so much potential for better food and more variety, for the kids especially, but for now I would just visit for the activities and avoid this place!.

I've been here a few times now. This place really has everything going for it, but the management doesn't seem to know how to do basic service. Be prepared to wait for an uncomfortable amount of time for a basic coffee served in a wasteful cardboard cup and be ready for overpriced food and bar drinks.

Stopped here whilst on a walk for a coffee and some cake. They have remodelled it over Christmas and it is now total chaos. Hardly any food, people queuing from every direction not knowing what to do, you have to order different things from different stands yet there is only one till so you have people queuing from each direction. On top of all that the food was absolutely awful and overpriced.

Thought it would be a good place to visit. A walk in the park then into the raft centre.... Nothing was going on , no rafting and no water. Never mind we thought lets get a coffee and some lunch. Our order was taken. our drinks were made. Whilst waiting for the drinks another group were complaining about the wait for food. We sat outside, lovely comfy seating area...... then waited and waited for a toasted sandwich and a salad.... As time ticked on we checked with the waiting staff about the food and were told that there was a delay. We requested our money back and left disappointed.
