Costa Coffee in Broxbourne

Absolutely terrible. Waited 35 minutes in the queue for a coffee on a Friday morning. Uber eats orders prioritised above people waiting in the queue, filthy floors, tables not cleared, one toilet out of order. No apology for the wait and at the end the drinks were made wrong too. So dreadful.

Staff are great and do there best to work through the long queues. Will they ever do fresh food? Processed rubbish is overpriced and unhealthy - just have the coffee

Not enough staff.tables outside always have plates cups and debris from previous customers,service too slow and food and cakes overpriced.

I ordered ice filat white on 09.08.2024 at 18:00. A dark-skinned man made me a terrible cold coffee. He understood that my English was insufficient and did not care about me because they were about to close. I hope baristas who do their job right and with love will work

Went here for a coffee on 18th July at 9:30am. I always have a mocha with an extra shot, and extra chocolately, but the results are not always the same. This one was perfect, and the Barista also took the time to check that I was satisfied. Service was fast and excellent, the shop was clean, and it was easy to find a table. Overall a pleasant experience, and I definitely plan to return. Thank you.

I actually visited shop last sunday gone and sian was extremly helpful and patience and assisted me with costa app as i had an internet issue with it.

Nice Costa outlet, we arrived just before the rush so service was really quick. Pre-made roles, wraps and ciabatta type food. Good coffee. They remain busy and we try to time every visit to avoid the lunchtime rush.

Friendly staff. Cakes expensive tho. I'm on diet.

Understaffed. Tables were full of rubbish and my latte was flat.

There is dirt everywhere, there is zero cleanliness, zero hygiene, I don't understand how the municipality doesn't close this place down.

The restaurant is freezing. Surely not too difficult to adjust the temperature according to the weather for that day.

Service could be better, if you order 2 coffees to go, you shouldn't have to wait 5min for the second coffee , especially when it's not busy.

Absolutely lovey staff members! Came here on Good Friday, so it was extremely busy around 11am and there were only 3 staff members on. They did an absolutely amazing job, staying friendly and welcoming even though they had so much to do. Special mention to John, who went above and beyond and even though an item I had ordered was out of stock, went to the effort of switching it for something else. Very impressed by the customer service and the new easter drinks range was lovely too! (I don't usually write reviews, but I had to considering how nice the staff were).

I love costa.. this one isn't bad but isn't great either. There's always someone being trained up so clearly they don't keep staff very long, making the process slow and queues always out the door. Tbh this doesn't bother me too much. The problem is with a member of staff who last time I was here with my friend and baby, this staff member kept moving my buggy with my baby in it. It wasn't in the way, I had it pulled right upto the table and plenty of space for people to get by. I ended up telling this woman to stop in the end. On top of that, I had to use the loo to change my baby and it was disgusting. If I wasn't desperate, I wouldn't have used them. Honestly gross.

Very convenient location and ample parking space for a quick stop off. Right near Brookfield centre, so a great place to grab a coffee and go. Quality of the coffee received was excellent, too.

What a transformation from a year ago ! I popped in today, 29th Feb, for a hot chocolate and what a difference from a year or so ago. The staff today were so friendly and served me with a smile. My drink was being made as I was paying, yes it was quite but the lady on the barista machine asked me what I would like before I had ordered and started to prepare it for me. Such a welcome different from previous staff ! The store has had a makeover and now looks bright and fresh. Like many places it can be extremely busy and may sometimes take a while to clear tables but customers can help by throwing their paper cups in the bin provided and not leave them on the table. I will definitely return on a more regular basis from now on

Had multiple orders come incomplete and today received a note saying “soz no mac n cheese or toastie” instead of a refund from themselves.

I go to Costa Brookfield typically 3 times a week to do my work after school run. The staff are all really happy & friendly. John in particular is really dope, he always recommends me new teas to try & introduced me to the banging seaded brown toast :) only downside of this costa is the aircon is cold and they can’t turn it down.

I went today for breakfast with my husband. I gave them clear instructions on what we wanted, which was two hot chocolates (one normal one and one hazelnut hot chocolate) both with cream and to be made extra hot. Only one came with whipped cream and neither of them were hot. I went back to ask for cream and was told my husband didn't pay for it, even though we asked for it before paying! Ridiculous staff who can't get an order right and then somehow blame you for getting it wrong.

Great for coffee, (plenty of choice), - can even sit in and outside if you wish in the summer months. Great staff very helpful, very pleasant, great sense of humour too. Well worth a visit, enjoy.

Always good coffee at Costas. The food was fine, hot and very welcome.

Some times the hot drinks end up being just warm so always worth asking to have them made extra hot but the staff in here are lovely.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Toasties are amazing but be careful they are very very hot. Only downside was bird toilets were filthy/blocked.

I've always had good service from the staff here. I do hope head office looks after the staff at this branch as I know they don't always get the help they need. The current staff at this Costa are great with customers, friendly and very efficient.

Hot chocolate is horrible, severely overpriced.

Its a Costa, but I find their of the counter foods a little dry and the whole place could be a bit cleaner. I went early in the morning about 8.30am and it was dirty where we sat by the window. But the service was good

Met a friend here for a Coffee, received a parking ticket a few weeks later stating I had overstayed the max parking time (150 mins) by 15 mins and so £100 fine. Shocking !.

Lovely Costa Coffee is really nicely decorated. Very friendly staff and very welcoming. Great service, very clean inside. and defently recommend it.

I love costa coffee however there is one staff member who always comes across really rude. She looks at you like you are not worth her time and when she forgets some of your order (which she does everytime i go in) she looks at you with a look like its your fault she forgot your order. I also come in with a child in a buggy and when i get a tray i find it difficult to carry the tray and push the buggy to a table. I have had only ONE staff member offer me any help once. love, love, love the coffee and as this is my closest costa coffee will always come back, just not to pleased with that one particular rude staff member.

Whenever I'm out and about, I love grabbing a drink from Costa.

It's alright, normally something wrong with the air conditioning, can sit outside but sometimes not outside due to the air conditioning and or plumbing issues (which I do think recently has been fixed) not the best costa out there.

Costa coffee, location Brookfield estate, perfect location if you have shopped yourself out with the multiple stores in close proximity. It is typical Costa fare in respect of the layout, lots of comfy seating, if the weather suits there is seating outside, you will be greeted by friendly and knowledgeable staff, whose aim is to please and explain the multiple choices that are on offer. It is very clean with staff clearing tables as soon as someone leaves, I was particularly impressed on how clean the toilets are, I do think this site make a conscious effort to keep the site clean. So if you fancy a pit stop this with all the choices of offer should be your pit stop of choice

Walked away, hygiene is practically non existent. When for coffee and a snack with my partner and was greeted by a rather disturbing mess

Very good staff, plenty of room to sit. Staff were efficient at clearing the tables. Good atmosphere and a nice lunchtime experience.

Was hit & miss whether open/closed/part time/short staffed for a long time then closed for refit. Opened without dishwasher almost 2 wks ago. Food in bags/plastic cutlery. Still no tableware. Really not good.

When I go, it's always really busy, understaffed, and I almost slipped and fell when leaving the shop. I couldn't even be bothered to report it because by the time I had gotten served, I could feel my blood sugar dropping, and that was my priority. (I'm type 1 diabetic) The costa by the old pond is so much nicer and friendlier.. feel like they are my friends when I go in.

Every time me,my wife and daughter go to this coffee shop there is always something wrong with it It's always shutting early or it's shut,what is the point of having a coffee shop if it is like this?

Should be more staff.. table s need to be wiped more as thay was sticky

Slowest service I’ve ever experienced. It doesn’t matter if there’s one person in the queue or ten or who is working, it’s SO SLOW! There’s currently four people working and about 6 people in the queue and I’ve been stood here for almost 20 mins and I’m now next. One girl in particular looks like she hates her life and is rude when serving, interrupting customers to talk to colleagues and never smiles.

Not really in to coffee and cake so what I had was OK

The worst Experience ever! I came in with my family and dog! I was in the branch for over an hour. My dog was acknowledged by all staff members and I ordered a lot to drink and eat. Over an hour later of being there I was approached by a man not even wearing his uniform with his coat on telling me to leave because I have a dog! I told him I was there for over an hour all staff saw me but no one thought of approaching me. Even when I was ordering food! My dog is very well behaved didnt disturb anybody and every other customer was ok with him being there! The man then told me this is a law and no restaurant/cafe that serves food accepts dogs and told me to get up without even finishing my drinks infront of my toddler who got very anxious with how he was talking to us and about our dog. I have been to lots of different costa branches a great example being frien barnet retail park! They have always told me to come in my dog and that they are always welcome! Yet I was treated like this in front of everyone!!! A company policy should not be applied to selected branches and there is no law to state dogs are not allowed in places that serve food and drinks! Other coffee shops like starbucks even have a menu for dogs and welcome all pets in same goes to cafe nero! I have not heard of such a thing. I did not have to pay for drinks and food sit somewhere for over an hour and then get told to leave without even finishing my drink in front of a 4 year old child. Your company is definitely not dog friendly and very rude to its customer!!!!

The worst Costa I have been to in a very long time and I go to Costa every single day. Staff need serious training, instead of chatting they should serve all the waiting customers. Disappointing

It was great. Now they have taken down screen in front of till. I could actually communicate with the girl behind the till without saying pardon, without having to shout things through the little gap at the bottom. Food great I am gluten and lactose Intolerant and now they do a lovely chicken and bacon sandwich from M&S so I can eat with my daughters as well as enjoy my caramel hot chocolate with Soya milk.

Usual costa coffee experience except for the toilets one of which was blocked and quite disgusting 😑

So disappointed with this store yet I give it chances time and time again. Either their store opening and closing times are different to what is on the website which is incredibly inconvenient but on top of that it completely messes up the orders I place when placing on the app. Some are cancelled and some then go through. On Saturday 3rd September, I ordered via the app for click and serve, this got cancelled. I had already drove to the store by this point to then find a sign up saying they'd be opening at 10am rather than their usual time. As frustrating as this was I placed another order on the app for another nearby branch, drove there to then find out the order had gone to the original branch (despite checking twice) and went back to a closed store as the order was accepted this time. The store was still closed and I thought my order would get cancelled. But no, I received a message an hour and half later after placing the order to say my order is ready to collect. I've been charged and complained via the app, to the store and yet no one has got back to me. Its ridiculous and the amount of money I've spent with Costa, its all just gone downhill. I'll be purchasing my coffees elsewhere and will definitely not be coming back here! Plus why should I pay for a milk alternative when I'm lactose intolerant?? Starbucks don't charge for milk alternatives. Never have I seen a store with so many handwritten signs regarding opening and closing times. Absolutely shocking.

Always something wrong! Last Saturday took the biscuit though, ordered on the app and got there and it was closed. Still haven't been refunded or had my complaint direct to costa addressed. So now I will drink my daily coffee elsewhere and leave a negative review everywhere. Also, please get with the times and stop charging extra for oat milk. Why does it cost more to care about the future for our children? Absolute joke of a company.

Everytime I try to visit lately its been closed with a hand written note on the window saying it will open later and will be takeaway only. You'd expect a popular coffee place to be open at 9.30 on a Saturday. Because it's takeaway only, the outside of this place is always disgusting with overflowing bins (ok, they are public bins so not technically Costa's responsibility) and litter everywhere.

A little peeved at the constant temp hours, lack of staff causing closures etc and today no air-con When each person is spending average £15 minimum I expect to be cool while being served not dying from heat in a queue of 15+ people Adding insult to injury only TA and shorter hours - I don’t understand how such a big chain can have staffing issues I really don’t. There’s just no excuse - you are making pleeenty of profit so pay your employees and staff your business. Ridiculous.

Very slow staff, takes ages. One is sitting behind the computer only and keep taking orders while the other one cant keep up. Very poor organisation of the work process. Also the coffee they make is not good because they rush it.

Coffee was good. Staff were VERY helpful and polite. MATURE cheese and Ham toastie was delicious. Unfortunately they were understaffed and most of the tables were old (need replacing or re-varnishing, they were grubby and had not been cleared.

Very busy , came in last week and had a great experience. My daughter couldn’t decide what to get and a lovely lady called saveera I think recommended the strawberry frappe which is now my daughter’s favourite! She was very helpful and friendly, definitely made the wait worth it!

Went on a Saturday morning and it was very busy, waited for over 15 min just to be served. The tills weren't working, the lady had an ipad device to take payments. Also couldn't use my Costa app to get my beans poi ts which I was annoyed about as I bought 6 coffees! There was only 2 staff which meant the pace was slow too. We couldn't sit inside outdoor seating only. It wasn't the staff fault but not a good experience

Totally discussed. I come here every day with friends for coffee spend at least £80 per week and the last 3 plus weeks due to a boiler problem can not sit or use the toilets and I am a crohns SuffererAnd I know my rights, it rains and we go in for shelter to tell us its only for take away after taking our money sit outside for 3 mins and we walk in and the staff tell you to leave.Bad management!!

The staff is always lovely and friendly. The service is really good. The major downfall of this store is that there is ALWAYS something wrong in the shop. Not that it is the fault of the staff, but clearly with head office! I am a regular at this branch, the boiler has needed fixing now for the last 2 WEEKS. Customers have to sit outside and particularly for hay fever sufferers, it is a big turn off. The last time, it was the ice making machine, which took over a week to get sorted and resulted in a loss of customers as its summer and most people want something cold in this heat. Let's not get started on the toilets that constantly get blocked. Mind, you the staff work really hard to ensure they are cleaned but it is an uphill task with the blockages, and maintenance really need to sort themselves out! Then there is the staffing issues, the amount of times, that the shop has had to close early, is an absolute joke. It has gotten to the point now, where if I don't see some sign on the glass door, or something isn't working, it's not normal for this shop. Someone from the head office needs to go down there and really get the feedback from the staff. No point in dealing with regional manager as clearly, this person is not doing their job. You are losing money and customers and will continue to do so until Costa Brookfield, Cheshunt gets it together.

I've been here a few times but have to shout out the exceptional experience my daughter and I had on Saturday 16/07 thanks to Bella. She was so lovely to us, friendly, chatty, warm and went above & beyond making our stop at Costa's a memorable one even though they were so busy. Thank you!

Popped in at lunch time for a coffee frappe with cream, my new favourite, served by a lovely girl chloe I think her name was, gave me a cupcake and said " it's on me " Soo kind

Felt very rushed by the staff to place my order, despite explaining I'm unfamiliar with their menu & drink sizes (and there was no queue behind me). Took away a mocha and a frozen chocolate drink - both were undrinkable. It was as though the chocolate powder was not mixed in. Both drinks went in the bin when we got home.

Very busy, could have done with more staff on, 2 serving and 1 stocking up not enough.

Coffer was very weak tasting had to ask for an extra shot which still didn't make any difference. The place was grubby and needed a clean

Coffee generally tasteless due the to some staff clicking the coffee grounds far too fast. I have mentioned that problem in the past to you and that particular member of staff to no avail. The music is too loud. We're not coming to be submitted with pop music but simply to enjoy a drink and a chat with friends. Thank you for taking notes of the above.

Very disappointing visit. Service was extremely slow and disorganised. Lack of cakes and sandwiches. Tables were not being cleared or cleaned.

Only reason I will come in this store is because of the wonderful worker Sophie she makes everyone’s day better. She left for a while and the place really went downhill and I didn’t return while she was away but now she is back I can enjoy my. Regular costa coffee from her !

Stood in a queue of 4 people for 15minutes and they only managed to serve one couple their 2 drinks in that time. But to be fair there was 3 of them working behind the counter so they were under the cosh. Slow would be giving credit where it isn't due.

Lovely place great staff. For all the dairy free lovers out there I totally recommend the Coconut Vanilla Latte was so nice, loved it 😋

Never again... the queue went all the way to the door but that wasn't the problem... there were 2 girls serving: one took the orders one by one, waiting until the other girl prepared each order... if someone took extra time to order or one of them made a mistake, we're talking about 20 minutes waiting... we sat down and no long after they said: we close in 15 minutes 😳 The second star is only because the hot chocolate I had was quite nice.

Covid-19 guidelines are followed beautifully. The store is clean, but not clean enough because the bad odour wanted you to walk back out! The coffee shops should elevate how people feel... just because the store is closed for dine-in, doesn’t mean that the vibe should be down 🤨 Come on guys, this is Costa’s, there is so much negativity out there... therefore, what you do, how you treat people, the background music, the way you converse with customers are all important —— these simple things would increase volume of customers and win their loyalty too... simple stuff!
