Nice local Fish and Chip shop. Reasonably priced, good selection of foods, fish and chips, pies, kebabs

Unfortunately ordered large kebab and chips with salad...kebab was dry and certainly not a large, salad was sparce little cucumber and tomato and not much more lettuce. Chips were nice to be honest. Fish and chips with mushy peas, small fish, chips again were nice. Will not be ordering again sorry 😐

Hard to comment on atmosphere as it was a delivery. A bulk order for 32 people at the paintballing park down the road at Blakedown. A mixture of pizzas and fish and chips arrived promptly and super hot and fresh. Thank you so much, especially for going the extra mile on delivering to the tables.

Advertised as open til 10. Walked in after 9 to be told no more food being cooked and to choose from a few items left in the hot hold. No fish available. Back to ordering through food apps it is, instead of walkint and trying local. Not a good look.

Fresh and hot delivered and good portions for the price.

We wanted a family meal that was delivered because we don't drive. We had a wide selection of products to cover everyone and each was fresh, tasty, cooked to perfection, and the delivery was quick bought to the door by a lovely young man who is very very polite. As a family we all highly recommend this fish&chip shop, pizza place, and kebab shop. Clean, tasty value for money smashing family business A1 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 👍

After my family recommended this chip shop we had to post a comment. Wow fresh tasty fish and chips, Donner kebab is just delicious, the pizzas were the best, no soggy bottoms, nothing but perfectly cooked fresh tasty pizza. My hubby always eats some for breakfast the morning after and he's now started taking it to work it's that good. I love several products and our girls are very picky eaters but there is never anything but empty plates and happy faces. I'm disabled so we have it delivered as a spoil . As a family we highly recommend this shop, lovely family running it. Fast delivery,so very friendly, I'd give them ten stars but only 5 box's. My sister was right super tasty affordable food. We are sticking with them well worth the money,

Best fish and chips in the town

If I could give no stars I would. We’ve used Tenny fryer for a long time but tonight they have let us down massively. It was cold and wrong but when I pointed this out I was told really rudely that it wasn’t, spoke to the owner and all they offered me was a portion of chip. Bearing in mind this was a £70 order with half of it being wrong and all of it being cold! Extremely disappointing, obviously loyalt customers mean nothing to them. I can honestly say I won’t be using them anymore. It yes you did offer for it to be delivered in a further 20mins. The guy behind the counter was really rude, and I 100% added the instructions on the order as I had someone check it for me before I placed the order. It unfortunately not the first review which mentions rude staff. I was told I had to wait 5/10 minutes for you (the manager) which I did but my food was just left on the side with no care and to get even colder, not under any heat. You’re only happy because you got to keep my £70 and the small cost of two portions of chips, when I got home tbh I threw the majority of it away as it was cold and therefore uneatable. The kids wouldnt eat any of the pizzas as they were wrong and had things they wouldn’t eat on them. Yes we have ordered from you quite a lot, that’s why I was surprised when you didn’t really want to know and couldn’t give two hoots. It just goes to show some ppl are just interested in the money side of things rather then customer stratification and looking after there regular returning customer. As for asking, not demanding, for a refund (once) I only asked that as the guy there was refusing to do anything, he only rang you because I said I wanted to talk to the manager. As for saying that I would only be happy if I walked out with all the money from the till that’s abit over the top don’t you think! Its a shame but I guess Everyone will learn the hard way. Never mind.

Everytime I have a meal delivered from there the food is delicious and plenty of it wouldn't go anywhere else

Just had a delivery from the tenner fryer. The fish was beautiful. They definitely don't skimp on the chips. Pie was lovely. The delivery was very good. I will definitely be ordering from there again. Well done to everyone involved in cooking them.and getting them to us nice and hot. Carol.

I brought tenny potatoes and they weren't cooked properly some of it was still hard and the mam pr manager was very cocky and arrogant

Hadn't used for quite some time. Driving past I decided to pop in a grab a bite to eat. The interior of the shop is a mess unkept greasy floor all in looking like its on its last legs. Staff not overly friendly and do not listen when you tell them what sauces or salad you want. The food on the other hand was lovely very hot very tasty and good value for money. But with such a choice of chip shops in the area this one is gonna be well down the list for me.

Always friendly and helpful. Chips are good. Pizzas are very nice generous portions

I live locally unlike the owner, I find it convenient but mediocre food with service that boarders on being rude, I have on several occasions had the staff walk into the back of the shop to ? As I walk in they don't seem to care if you are there and will walk off, I waited and the man looked and didn't come to serve or acknowledge me. I just walked out . I will not recommend this outlet and recommend people use the chippy on Comberton.

We use tenny fryer once a month for a company treat because of the wide variety of choices, we have at least 10 meals delivered on ti.e all hot and correct would definitely recommend them 😀

Clean and with decent food. I would say there are friendlier chippies who wouldn't charge ten pence for a plastic carrier after you've paid.

Exceptional food and great friendly service. The delivery service is brilliant and on time and hot. Price wise it is not overly expensive and the specials are value for the money. I often buy about two times a week because of the value and the service. Definitely recommend The Tenny Fryer and if you are lucky and order on the right day you get the delightful and gorgeous female delivery driver.

Tried a lot of things from the menu as we all have different favourites. Food is always excellent quality and arrives piping hot. Good value for money, our goto place for fish & chips and pizzas.

We never go anywhere else. Always lovely food. Fast and friendly service. Would recommend Jay and his team to anyone. 5 stars, no question

The worst chips I have ever eaten, nasty taste like dirty fat. The spring roll was ok as cooked fresh. I also could help noticing the 2 ceiling fan lights absolutely thick of dirt and dust, which are right above the cookers. We will not be going there again.

Used The Tenby Fryer for a large order of pizza and chips for delivery- They were really helpful in the shop with the order- The food arrived bang on time and was thoroughly enjoyed by all- Good quality, good service

Have been ordering from here since the first lockdown using their app. What a discovery! Have food delivered it's always been on time. Order to collect and the food is ready at the specified time. If you like fish dishes at an Indian restaurant give the Masala fish a try I'd highly recommend it. Chicken meat and chips or on pitta bread has never disappointed either. The guys working in the shop are great. So helpful. Now don't go anywhere else!!

I've never tried this place before. I was really pleased with the delivery time and flavour of the fish and chips. Large portion very generous, will only need regular size next time. Will definitely order again.

Had fish and chips from there twice recently..fish was lovely and the chips were scummy, delivery was on time and food was hot. Only down side was the £2 delivery fee as I don't live far away and spent over £30 but saying that it saved me having to go out 🍔🍕🍟

Always quick delivery. Friendly staff. Been using tenny fryer for years.... Since they provided lots of pizzas and chips for our wedding six years ago. It's always my children's first choice when we say we're getting a takeaway. Definitely recommend. 😋😋

Ordered online and given expected time but unfortunately arrived 20minutes late. HOWEVER, When I opened packages the food was piping hot, I really enjoyed the tasty food. I don't normally go for pizza and thought I would have a change, very nice and the BBQ wings was superb, I do recommend this place. Also I was met by a lovely lady with a beautiful smile, shame she wasn't on the menu.

Food is always at a very high standard... can especially recommend the Masala fish...a wonderful lightly spiced meal. Tasty and light but still filling... Easy to order through the App...(even I can do it).... keep an eye out for the Mid-week special offers too.... excellent value for money.

Usually really tasty food but this time we received our fish and chips soaked with grease and a very dry and hard chewy fish overall unbearable to eat. We Won't be ordering there again.

The worst kebab and chips I have had I have tried this chip shop a few times as it our local to see if they were just having bad day . But no still not great at all . The place does not even look that clean will not be going back . If I could give no stars I would .

There is no other fish and chip shop I'd use with total confidence in the quality and value for money. As a family we highly recommend for reliable fresh tasty food great portion size everything you could want and more. If you want other tasty food they do kebabs and pizza of various sizes and many toppings.

Bones in the food. Do not recommend or advise as my gf almost choked on her food, normally a good chippy but very disappointed. Wont be returning.

Don't eat from here, absolutely disgraceful!! I found bones in the tikka meat and nearly chocked. And the chicken and mushroom pie was pink inside. This is appalling, i used to love this chippy, but clearly gone down hill. You won't be seeing me there again.

Congratulations to the Tenny Fryer on your 8th year of serving our local community. The promotion last Thursday was much appreciated, thank you. We are all lucky to have such a fantastic takeaway on our doorstep supplying us with great food at competitive prices, fish & chips are to die for. The shop is located next to the Cavalier pub at the junction of Tennyson Way & Husum Way. If you haven't already used them give them a try, you won't be disappointed.

Only second visit. Fish was very tasty and batter light and crispy. Chicken kebab meat had a lot of flavouring / coating on it. Still very good but would like to try the traditional donor meat if I return.

Have been here a few times and after seeing on Facebook that he was offering a free meal for all key workers my husband and I thought we would go as we have not had takeaway for months. When we have a chippy tea we usually order from here as the food is pretty good quality and the prices are reasonable. We ordered from here last night and had it delivered to our house as we always do. When met at the door the obnoxious delivery driver turned to my partner and said “is there any reason you don’t order on our app?” To which she replied no. They then went on to suggest “it’s people like you ordering from just eat that will shut this place”. For a start I understand small businesses are under huge financial pressure to keep ticking over from this coronavirus pandemic. But to be spoken to in such a manner is not acceptable. If you didn’t want people to order from just eat then don’t put yourselves on there. Not difficult really is it. Also I would like to mention, we are regular customers to this place who have supported you over the years, but now you have tarnished that we do not wish to return back to you and will support other local chip shops that appreciate our custom. :)

Used the Tenny Friar both through Just Eat and direct via website. The food has been consistently hot & tasty. Fast becoming a fave takeaway. Delivery estimates very accurate too. Recommended

Soggy chips dripping with fat. The fish average. Mushy peas watery, straight to the bin. We both feel a strong aftertaste of lard. Cash only (in 2019???). It was the first and the last time I eat their food.
