Great little bar, didn't eat so not sure what the food is like but fantastic selection of beers and ciders, decent pub

Fab little bar, nice selection of ales and ciders. Football on the tvs. Quirky place, definitely recommend. Go down the stairs and into the bar. Fantastic find

So, a visit to this spacious underground bar was booked in advance to watch the rugby. Nice table allocated in front of an adequate TV screen. Large range of drinks and food here, including Guinness, and food was tasty and plentiful. Not cheap but discounts can be had when using their app to order with accumulated points per order. Quick service when app ordering. 1 member of staff however did not know how online orders worked and discarded 1 order and delivered our drinks to another customer on another order (who happily drunk them for free). On these occasions, we had to visit the bar to point out the mistakes. Another let down, was no greeting on arrival, venue was fairly empty and initially felt quite hostile, male staff member/supervisor was grumpy and not friendly at all. Otherwise a pleasant visit with improving atmosphere.

Great pub for watching sport, we booked a table for Six Nations right in front of the projector, the atmosphere was brilliant. The main reason im writing this review is for the Nachos... I've had Nacho's in many bars around London, none compare to Temple Brew House Nacho's. Our group of 12 ordered 4 portions of large pulled pork Nacho's, hands down the best Nacho's I've ever had, layered with melted cheese, covered in pulled pork, sauces and jalapeños, exactly how Nacho's should be! The large portion is massive could easily be shared between 3 people, highly recommend, I'd return just for the Nacho's.

Great venue, and reasonably priced for the area. Perhaps I caught this place on a bad day, but the beer offering didn't really meet expectations. Mostly macro owned offerings, despite a huge number of lines. I'll try again though.

Venue okay. You cannot pay cash. Manager of the bar seen to pick his nose when leaving the kitchen area numerous times and put me off the food. Although majority of the staff helpful I found the supervising manager to be aggressive when challenged about his hygiene habits. Needless to say we will not be visiting or eating at this establishment again.

Lovely place. Only negative was that app ordering didn’t seem to work, and I had city points to spend. Could this be fixed?

This is a refreshingly good place considering the area. Three home-brewed (on the premises) beer including a pale ale, a best bitter and milk stout all on cask. £5.50 for the pale was inexpensive (given this is central London). Don't be ripped off by the fashionable 'craft beer'. It's a really good real ale basement bar in an unexpected part of central London.

A different pub than usual, where the cuisine surprises you! Truly recommended, to enjoy a moment different from the classic tourist itineraries

Siamo venuti in famiglia per pranzare, ci siamo trovati molto bene. Posto molto tranquillo, cibo ottimo e porzioni molto grandi! Personale molto cortese e lo chef veramente bravo e gentile! Consigliato se si cerca qualcosa di originale, e con un’atmosfera autentica.

My first visit (75 year old): packed with KIDS🤣,service spot on, Real Ale again spot on, it's a must if in area( being a CAMR member II highly recommend it)

Will have to go back here again with such a massive range of excellent beers and a wonderful space.

Food was very slow to arrive and when it did it it wasn't as described on the menu. Loaded chips was supposed to have beef chilli, but instead it came topped with a soupy casserole with chunks of beef and carrots which drowned the fries. We also had nachos. Both were missing cheese 😂🤦

Whilst strolling around, stumbled upon this place. Great choice of lagers, ales etc. Super friendly, helpful staff. Worth a visit.

An interesting pub, excellent beer selection, cool in principle but... but... 10£ per person per hour to play darts? It seems a bit excessive even if table football is free, hence 4 star!

Lovely small breweries with 3/4 of their own brew available along with a host of others. Traditional pub games available to play along with multiple televisions. Only a small seating area out on the street. Brewing equipment on display for those intrigued.

Glorious pub, friendly staff, a wonderful place. Really good selection of beers on, also has darts+ table football. Air conditioned oasis when it's warm out as well...

Great selection of craft beers!

Place seemed nice enough and person behind the bar was friendly but, at just under £7 a pint, it was expensive even considering the central London area in which it is located. It looked like it had a free table football though which would make me want to return for a second visit.

A really great, and quirky pub, especially for this area. They had a great best bitter on which went down very well. A real gem of the area

Ottimo e piccolo pub a Temple. Cibo delizioso, alette di pollo ben cotte. Hamburger molto ben fatto. Ambiente piacevole anche per una serata in famiglia.

From what used to be an amazing experience with a fantastic range of keg ales to a very disappointed generic collection of lagers and Guinness Only got more stars than 0 as it 2as once fantastic 😭 It was always worth the expense as it was a proper tap room. Now it is like every other pub in the area, too expensive with no choice.

No independent craft in sight. I should have checked before going. Assumed badly there would be some by the name. Live and learn. The TBH Neipa was about as close to Neipa as a stout.

Excellent tap selection, all draft beers available as pints, halfs, or two-thirds. Table football. Two bookable dartboards. I'll be back to sample the food!

"shows live sport"... Just with no sound, even if you ask politely!

Nice pub but if you 'show live sport' you should put the sound on for English champions league games and not refuse when asked by multiple people

Still not taking cash... I prefer to give my money to a business who is not assisting a slip into a 'digital currency' only world.

A group of four of us sat down at a table, planning to spend most of the evening at this venue. It was busy, but there were still a few tables free. As we started to sort out what we were drinking, a member of staff, who immediately hurried away after doing this, plonked a notice on the table stating it was reserved... The time was now 1725. I looked at the notice and was really quite surprised to see it was for 1730 - five minutes time! The bar was quickly filling up and the staff member had literally run away so we couldn't query this with him. It was such a sour act we immediately walked out.

Got to say I wasnt expecting this to be as good as it was. They were missing a few beers but when these on they would have a v nice selection. Food good and was quick to table.

Beer was very good, but mislabeled: ordered a NEIPA which was clearly a weissbeer when it arrived. Food was overpriced stuff cooked from frozen. Ordered the fish and chips, which was fine for Bird's Eye but the tiny portion of mushy peas was dry and sweet (liked mashed petit pois). The automatic 12.5% service charge was also a bit annoying. I don't begrudge paying a tip for good service (and it was good!) but to have it taken when you order without it being mentioned was underhand.

Beware! Pickpockets frequent this bar.

After never having tried alcohol in my life, after asking for an alcohol free drink I was given an alcoholic sider which I paid for with my phone. They couldn’t refund me because apparently they take payments contactless but only refund to physical cards. The manager promised to sort it out but never followed up. At the end, I was forced to pay £6.5 to have a lifelong commitment to not drinking ruined by the bartender. Thanks!

Would be just another pub in London were it not for the incredible, personable service (talking about Bryan specifically), that makes this place exceptional. Will absolutely be back!

What a find, especially for this area - a hipster brew joint next to the truly execrable Daley's Wine Bar...lots of beers on tap (I had the Deya)...wonderful space!

A beer lovers paradise! If I lived local this place would be a regular of mine. They have an awesome selection of craft beer. The food was good, my favorite being their korean bbq wings!

Bar is really cool . Beer is fantastic . Staff are funny. They seem love each other but hate the customer.

We had a gathering of people for a school reunion, we just used the pub, didn't have any food, but the staff were incredibly nice, and best of all, I left my phone on the table and the manageress actually bothered to phone me up to let me know they had found it and were keeping it for me. So lovely to know that there are people out there who will still hand something in, and people who will pick up the phone and let you know. Thank you so much (sorry I don't know your name). But you made my day a lot better.

The Temple Brew House should be your next evening out in town. The food was delicious and the drinks were fab, all reasonably priced. The staff were super friendly and approachable! The venue looked great and most importantly had such a great atmosphere! A little music would have been nice as background noise, though this may just have been off as there was a game on the TV, however this did not detract from the evening!

Loved the beers but sadly a cashless business so won't return again.

From looking at their website I expected a large variety of craft beer on tap and that was my main reason for visiting. Unfortunately most of the beers (keg) were what I would call mainstream or signs saying "coming soon". Out of the large ammount of taps (keg) there were only about 3 that were on and I would call craft beer. It's not the prettiest of bars but that's part of it character. I imagine it's a great place to watch sports and a good place to go with the lads. I would definately not bring my girlfriend or almost any females I know as I simply don't think they would enjoy its character. Though it's not a bad place to have a drink, if your after a large selection of craft beer in a less dive bar atmosphere search "brewery bar" on Google maps to see other options. I also recognise that I have only been once and may have simply timed it wrong for keg beers. I would advise giving this bar a go but if like me you don't find much of what your looking for know there are a few other options in the same area.

Nice craft beer bar located a stone's throw from the old bailey.

Me and my hungry family visiting from the States popped in here and had a great meal and good drinks. Staff was super friendly, even reminding me that it might get a little "rowdy" for my kids (teenagers) when the match started later. My only regret was they didn't have a souvenir t-shirt in my size.

Sehr schönes Pub mit Craft beer on tap. Wir konnten uns fast nicht entscheiden, so gut ist die Auswahl. Super nettes Personal und die Burger sind auch lecker. Der Eingang oben sieht eher unscheinbar aus, aber dahinter verbirgt sich ein super Pub im Untergeschoss, also nicht abschrecken lassen.

Below street level between a pretentious wine bar and a pub with "cask ales" (whatever that's worth) is a gem! They brew their own beer and serve a nice selection of imports. Women bar keeps kind and friendly. Their in house Pilsner / Lager is a good hybrid. They also have other offerings including traditional pump ales. Very happy.

The beer is good, the food is good the darts were fun but unfortunately the lady working behind the bar was shockingly rude and unprofessional. We came as a group of 12 for my husbands 40th birthday. She would visibly role her eyes whenever anyone paused to ask the group what they’d like to drink, she’d take deep breaths visibly showing her annoyance and once even flopped over the till in a childlike tantrum. We were nothing but polite I honestly couldn’t understand it, I asked her if she was ok at one point as she was clearly very agitated. It was a shame as it tainted the night a little. Her behavior was appalling and honestly my 8 year old daughter has more manners.

Not open when their posted hours say they will be.

This microbrewery is superb, we diverted here after a few pubs on the other side of the river. When we was walking up to it we wasn't sure, but as soon as you walk down the steps it's fab! Loads of choices of drinks to the extent we stayed here longer than anywhere else on our trip out. Also had some snacks here which were much needed after a few beers! Will look to come here again if ever in the area...!

Delicious beer brewed here. There is also a large selection of guest taps but I recommend trying their brew. Served with a warm, friendly smile. The Session IPA is very good. Liked this little hole in the wall brewery.

Friendly and helpful staff (apologies if I got the names wrong, Sam and Alex?) Reasonably priced , quality food for central London. There are more options for ipa drinkers but lots of the standard drinks available as well if you're worried about not finding something within the craft options.

So happy this place is back open. Had a great night. Super burger and beer combo on Tuesday nights.

Great range of beers and ales on offer. The food is pretty quick and tasty too. Would most definitley reccomend the croque or the chicken wrap. Both were pretty tasty.

El sitio está buen ambientado... no hay mucho jaleo, de estar concurrido. Tienen buena variedad de grifos y tipos de cervezas. Aquí pedimos algo para cenar, pero cada vez que iba a la barra se les había acabado algo. Por más que nos dábamos prisa en decidirnos por alguno de los platos que quedaban en carta, cada viaje a la barra era para decir que ya se habían acabado. Al final terminamos comiendo un plato de patatas, normalitas. Las alitas de pollo pican bastante, por si a alguien no le gusta el picante pero si las alitas que lo tenga en cuenta.

Good range of beers, and mix it up with the "spin the wheel" option (which is designed for the unique bottles and cans on the wheel, but if you ask them they'll apply it to the pints). Although be warned - the wheel could land on buy the staff a drink - but then, it can also land on free drink! No pints are coming in under £5, but this is central London I guess and its quality beers. Nice vibe, and got some food (a vegan burger and chips) which was nice.

Basement bar for the Essex St Brewery in London. Good prices for the area and a pretty decent beer selection. They were slammed on a Friday night and the staff still found time to be helpful and chatty. Definitely stop by if you're a craft beer lover in London.

Ahh the light of the morn, and the wistful ponderings it brings with it: In the evening I believed I was breezily ascending Everest, how can it be, that I now find myself at the bottom of the Mariana Trench. There are some questions,for which the pursuit of an answer is an exercise in futility. However, the question ‘does Temple Brew House have a good beer selection?’ does not rank among them. The answer to that question is without any doubt yes. A handsome range of bottled and draught, craft has found a fine outlet in the legal district. Leave the Strand and Fleet Street’s frontages as thoroughfare distractions for the tourists. Yet a mere eye glance from the well trod path and you’ll find yourself descending into the subterranean. Typical trappings, paraphernalia, nick nacks, bric-a-brac, you know, all that stuff. Crucially though, the table surfaces are of sturdy enough constitution that you might slam down your drained pint glass with zeal, whilst invariably returning to the bar. By no means is this your late grandmother’s furniture, stacked up in your parents’ garage. This all makes for a fine atmosphere, and as you return, for round two, three, four etc. you’ll be dealt with at pace. If I were to guess, I’d say these bar peoples to be students of the local King’s. Good on ‘em. This place appears to be a haunt. And as a Jonny-come-lately, it is only with brazen conjecture that I might guess at the length of its standing... or I could look on the internet. But I won’t, because it doesn’t matter to me, nor to my comrades of a Friday. Whilst this lot continue to trot out cool beer from an expansive menu, my custom will be sealed. In both reality, and the light of the following morning, that’s what matters.

Great bar, not the best selection of “craft beers” nothing I’ve not seen before. Great atmosphere, and decor. Also shows live sports which was nice touch for this kind of bar. Will have to try some if the food on my next visit.

A cellar bar just off the Strand near Twinings Tea Shop. It has it's own microbrewery and the beer that I tried was excellent. The large tables encourage converstation, the staff were pleasant there was a nice atmosphere about the place. Not your usual London City pub, and well worth seeking out. Fair prices too.

Although personally I don't have many comparisons in London, here definitely is one of the best burger I've ever eaten! Super interesting place, absolutely recommended.

Si vous aimez des endroits différents et avec une âme, allez y. Et si vous avez le temps vous pourrez même apprendre à faire votre propre bière. Celles maison sont excellentes avec de la personnalité. La carte est bien , les produits excellents et les prix doux. Personnel super sympa. Attention, comme dans tous les pubs, on commande et on paye au bar, puis on cherche une place. A partir d'une certaine heure , vers 18h, si vous n'avez pas réservé, cest difficile.

Really cool little place that is properly tucked away. I nearly walked right past it. You head down into a basement bar, which is decorated with a shabby chic, hipster style. Amazing range of beers on, as you'd expect from the name. Had a quick snack here too, which whilst a tiny bit expensive, was very delicious. Only stayed for a quick half, but the place seemed lively and friendly. Would definitely come back.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Shepard’s pie was good , as was the veggie curry. House made beers were great.
