Took my aunty there just for a little beer or something,ended up having haddock goujons and chips to share as a snack Absolutely delicious the fish batter was so crispy and the fish fresh.

Order G&T but was served more expensive one without asking preference Costs 5£ more that home version Do not go for here for G&T they scam you for 5£! Don’t recommend for that reason! There are so many great places in the area to choose from

Really nice pub, close to Portobello Road and Notthing Hill. Inside it is very characteristic, all in wood. They have good local beers, lots of wines and cocktails. But I would like to focus on the food, which is really good (they have a not very extensive a la carte menu, and they have a fixed one from Monday to Friday. Just think that I even went back to try it and I must say that we weren't bad either, medium portions, but three good courses at a very honest price, in London, in short, you shouldn't miss it). The service is fast, courteous, present but not suffocating. Advised

Reserved a table here on a Sunday for the Six Nations and food for my family. We were accommodated with a great table with a view of the large projector. The manager looked after us brilliantly and the roast was fantastic. 10/10 service and 10/10 food. I will definitely be back both to watch the rugby and to eat.

This was a first time visit for Sunday lunch. The atmosphere was relaxed & all front of house staff were friendly & attentive. The Sunday roasts were amazing. All our meals were beautifully presented, with the best gravy & Yorkshires we've had in a long time. Thanks to everyone for the great food & hospitality, we will definitely return soon.

Great experience watching Ireland v England on Saturday at the Porchester! Great menu and we weren't disappointed by the quality of the food either! It was delicious. Screens visible from throughout the pub. Service was brilliant, friendly and chatty staff who kindly dropped our Guinness down to the table. A special mention to Michael who was welcoming, friendly and super helpful. Would definitely return and recommend for six nations!

My friend and I had the pork, it was all stunning, the meat, the Yorkshires, all the veg, the gravy was perfect consistency. The pub itself also looks very nice. Service from Liam was great, would definitely recommend and come again

Great pub. Asahi on tap which is a bonus. Michael behind the bar was a legend - and recommended the vegan sausage and mash which I didn’t regret as it was delicious! I was passionately informed by my beautiful co-eater that the gnocchi was ‘better than all the ones I had in Italy’, and the side of broccoli was honestly amazing -thanks in part to my new favourite food - samphire — that it was sitting on. Booth was comfy, prices were good, vibes were great. Highly recommended. Would be my local if I didn’t live 60 miles away. Cheers.

Came here a few years ago, visiting from the States. Had the privilege of watching Arsenal and Chelsea in the Europa League finals. Awesome experience.

Great atmosphere and great service. We had our usual fish n chips and burger plus all the 3 desserts listed (sticky toffee pudding, brownie and apple crumble). Also tried the starter pig croquette for the first time. What made the dining more fantastic was the pub quiz - we had a great time!

We live in the area and we often visit this pub for casual drinks, we thought it’d be a good idea to celebrate Christmas there. Reservations process was messy, no one seemed to know who to take a booking and a payment straightforward. Way to many emails and calls to get this done. On the day of the booking, despite the fact we had food preorder and restaurant was barely half full, it took forever to get the starters, we waited long time as well for the main courses and not to mentioned to get the table clear for the deserts….3 hours dining! Friendly staff but need to elevate the service game specially when paying a £90 menu per person. We will back for drinks but we did learn the lesson for dining.

The kitchen says it closes at 9 on Google listing but they turned us away at 8

While walking down the street, I felt like having some food and drinks. I stumbled upon this absolutely amazing restaurant. Michael, one of the staff members, stood out with his incredible kindness and hospitality. The way he served wasn’t just about doing his job—it truly reflected genuine care and dedication toward customers.

Thank you for a fantastic experience during our mid-afternoon stop for a late lunch. Grace was very kind in looking after us, managing our service during a very busy Christmas party afternoon, with a calm and friendly efficiency. Recommendations for both food and drinks were spot on. We had a great time and really felt quite at home. We look forward to our next visit. Can only describe Grace as excellent! Thanks again.

We organised our wedding drinks at the Porchester last night and can't thank Liam and his team enough for their help in making the evening so smooth and enjoyable. Thank you Tom and Grace for your help and clear comms throughout the night. Congrats to the chef as well: there was certainly no Bristish beef sliders nor any tripled cooked fries left!

We wanted to eat fish and chips in London. It's a good thing we ended up here in a pub instead of a bistro. There was a lot going on, so we were allowed to sit at a table with others - and quickly started talking to the Irish about whether the Guinness tasted as good in London as it does in Dublin. It does, as does the fish. We had waited a while for him to swim to our table. But it didn't matter, the nice boss apologized. I like the crispy breading. What appears to be dark spots appears to be the skin. Has nothing to do with the quality and freshness. You can eat with us, but you don't have to. The Porchester is in the bookmarks for the next visit to London.

The food is delicious, Liam was such a gentleman, the place is beautiful and comfy. I just wanted a bigger stomach so I could eat more!

Lovely friendly staff. The food was great and although we didn't win, we loved taking part in the quiz. One thing to note is that one of our group has severe food allergies and although they made limited adjustments for her, it would have been wise to inform them of requests beforehand.

Liam was a fantastic host. The Porchester never disappoints with its delicious food, excellent range of wines, beers and spirits and the stunning exterior. Its lovely not to be rushed and to be able to relax there.

We had a fabulous lunch to celebrate our colleague's birthday. Our time was limited but we were able to preorder so our food was ready in good time without having to rush . Really hearty portions on a newly revised menu went down a treat! Candles and a treat for our bday princess was a lovely touch at the end too! Liam was fabulous! Attentive and professional throughout..... We'll definitely come again!

A nice surprise in the Notting Hill area. I tried the half chicken, and it was phenomenal. Beer is also great and service kind and fast.

Authentic and quality dishes, with a changing menu, The scotch egg as a starter was fabulous, I had a burger for a change which was incredible, and indeed, the tart was worth the wait 💯 The dishes are really plentiful, glad I didn't have the fish and chips, it's huge, I could never have eaten it all 🫣 The service is also impeccable, good recommendations! Beautiful wine list, Perfect !

Fantastic food and atmosphere, love how this pub looks on the inside. My second time having lunch at The Porchester. Took visiting family there as it was near home and was happy with my previous experience. I ordered the bavette steak which was cooked perfectly. My sister said her fish and chips was also delicious, and the burger and pork dishes which the rest of our group had was also tasty. Our server Grace was very attentive.

We went for the Porchester burger, the both of us, and it was very tasty. The melted cheese and the onion jam made the burger, I think! We went on a Wednesday, and at that time they had a quiz night, so it was quite loud, and not easy to talk. As most pubs in the area they serve Pale Ale and IPA beers, which is not for me, so it was little else to choose from, unfortunately.

Came here today for impromptu lunch. Fish and chips were great fresh ingredients, great staff. Owner came around and checked in all tables. Really nice, well lit sunny cozy pub with excellent food. Highly recommend. Can’t thank the owner enough for fixing a little mishap we had! Made up for it ten fold, and their hospitality was more than we could have asked for!

Misleading Menu We selected the Porchester for a Sunday roast experience with family after doing extensive research into places in the area that could accommodate all diets— including a vegan in our party. The menu on the website included what sounded like a delicious vegan Wellington with vegan trimmings— all clearly labeled (VG). We made the booking and were excited to dine. When we arrived to the pub, we discovered that the menu at the restaurant had been changed (the website was unchanged) which eliminated the only vegan roast option from the menu, only offering vegetarian. Despite being shown the discrepancy, the server was apologetic but didn’t offer anything else they could enjoy except a burger. They blamed head office but didn’t offer any accommodation for being at fault for the disappointment. Our vegan was upset but as there were no other bookings available nearby in the other options we researched, we were resigned to stay and had the other roast options, and the vegan ate the burger. Our biggest disappointment was the apathy the staff showed for a clearly disappointed person who couldn’t enjoy the meal they expected, and no other goodwill was shown to make up for the establishment’s error. We would never have booked the Porchester had their menu not included a plant-based option. Buyer beware.

Great pub where you can taste very good English meals and also find a large variety of bier and good gin. Grace and Sam are so kind and they recommended us very good plates. If you're around Bishop's Bridge, you should stop here.

We had a really good dinner here. The atmosphere of the place was amazing. The food was delicious. And our waiter Liam very servicial and nice. We will definitely come back next time in London!

We had the Sunday Roast & it was nice. My husband had the pork & I had the beef. Both meats were lovely & the gravy was the highlight of the meal. The staff were friendly also.

We visited in early July and I wrote a very complementary review - 5 star. Second visit yesterday and what a difference. Food not nearly as good. The ambience is still fine and we met and enjoyed the company of a very interesting punter. We haven't given up.

The Food was okay But for the price it was not good. The meat was good but without spices. The quiz was really boring and we didn‘t had much fun.

Great spot in central west London, best service I have had in a long while, we had the black pudding and pork sausage roll, meat was juicy and black pudding full of flavour (shared) we then went for the Haddock and chips and wow just wow I can’t explain when this came out I was extremely happy, the portion was excellent and perfectly cooked, crisp batter surrounding succulent white flesh that was still juicy, some of the best chips o have had and all the accompanying bits and bobs, tar-tar sauce, mushy peas, charred lemon all the good stuff, my friend had the Bavette steak, chips, blue cheese sauce and cress it looked lovely, the service was fantastic from all the staff, the bar was busy and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and had a few drinks to go with all very very recommended, shout out to this place as it has come a great way with the new management a place to certainly enjoy don’t pass it up

Lovely spot to have dinner with family and friends, super recommended the scotch egg and their Signature Pie! A special thanks to Grace, she looked after us the whole meal and have been so understanding with our kids.

Spacious and clean with a modernised London pub atmosphere. It has good food for its standard level. Staff are great, always hardworking, upbeat as possible and obliging in doing their utmost to help with table bookings, particularly at busy times with televised sports events.

I walked into PortChester and straightaway told the bartender I was a tourist from Massachusetts and I wanted an authentic English Ale. He could have rolled his eyes at me. Instead he was very engaging and gave me some tastes of some great English pale ales and cask ales. Even the locals at the bar weren’t too annoyed with me when I said I didn’t want to have Guinness! Great service and great beer. I didn’t have any food, but I should have. If I’m back in the UK, I’ll be back at The Portchestervv

Our first full day in London and our number one priority was having Sunday roast. We were staying in Bayswater so looked at a few restaurants near the hotel. We couldn’t resist the name of this place. We arrived to a classic English pub with the most charming and helpful waiter. I’m terribly sorry I forgot his name. because we had just been flying, we weren’t particularly hungry. We asked to share a Sunday roast portion and he said let me bring you two children’s plates instead. Perfect! And we got our own Yorkshire pudding, which is the whole point of Sunday roast. The food was delicious. The drinks were great. and the overall vibe was super chill and lovely
