Lovely pub but food a disappointment. We had nachos - for £7.50 you expect a plateful but this was a small portion of floppy wedges, looked like one tortilla had been fried and then sliced into wedges. Not as crispy as expected for nachos. Toppings of cheese, jalapeños and soured cream blended into a nice mush but no guacamole or salsa as promised on the menu. Halloumi fries were nice but, again, a very small portion for £6.95.

Seriously the best burger I've had in the UK. I always get the "personal cheesus", well done w/ extra cheese & pickles. I love the well-done option, for me it's the only way a burger should be. They put plenty of cheese & pickles (but I'd love an option to add even more!). I've only ever ordered thru ubereats and the cheeseburger is always perfect, nothing missing, just as ordered. A solid 5 stars (I'd give more if possible) for the cheeseburger alone, and how friendly / customer service oriented they are the 2 times I've called. Yet for me, the other menu items - at least what I've tried which are onion rings, chicken sandwich, 4 diff types of fries, onion rings, "buffalo" tenders, and chicken tenders - are sadly a let-down. We do onion rings differently in USA. I prefer a thin, light, crispy, seasoned coating on my rings (panko is usually the best), but S&P's are very thick battered + quite greasy. I tried them twice but won't again. Their fries are also too greasy + dry inside for me, as I like crinkle cut or true french fries w/ thin coating and moist inside. Chicken sandwiches are one of my favorite things in life, but sadly i've only had 1 good one in the 10 years I've lived here. Back home, chicken sandwiches are made w/ buttermilk fried chicken or a nice light crispy breading w/ very little seasoning, dill pickles, and never very greasy (and never, ever with lettuce). Whereas all the fried chicken I've had here is heavy, greasy, and with odd seasoning. Finally, the buffalo strips weren't marinated / tossed in a true buffalo sauce, but rather came with some sauce I didn't care for on the side so I didn't enjoy those. I know they're cooking for the Brits tho, not me, so I'm sure others enjoy the other menu items. In fact my housemate loves the naked fries, so it's a cultural and/or ethnic thing. It does make me sad the burgers are so amazing, yet I can't order any sides. I wish they'd be open to some input, since they seem to want to be regarded as "American" style food (it's anything but, save for burgers) - I'd be thrilled if they had different sides that were in fact more American, or at least prepared them a more authentic way. I got excited tonight as they had jalapeno poppers on the menu, but they said they don't have them in stock + prob won't carry at Sheffield. rather gutted, that might be the one side I'd love! U can't go wrong with poppers, please start stocking them. I promise to order 2 times a month if u do! If you're a homesick American, stick with the burgers & cheeseburgers. Otherwise, everything is quality, just not to this Californian/Texan's taste. I'd so love for that to change...I'd even be happy if they just stocked the poppers and maybe offered crinkle cut fries as well. If anyone made it thru my whole review (why is it so hard for us Americans to condense?!) you deserve a medal. Or at least a triple personal cheesus burger (tho I've only ordered the small since I'm worried about the cheese & pickle to meat ratio, I need all the cheese)!

After hearing amazing things about the burgers here (and seeing so many amazing pictures on Instagram!) me and my partner finally gave them a go and ordered last night. We where luck to get the BOGOF deal on Uber eats (Tuesday-Thursday not sure how long for!) so both had the Personal Cheesus burger with onion rings each and shared some naked fries. The burgers are so tasty and juicy, honestly best cheeseburger I have ever had, great amount of sauce and pickles. Onion rings where spot on and the fries are fab. I can't describe them but they are like V shaped? So if you got loaded fries it would hold all the sauce and toppings. Genius. Really loved it - please give them a try if you are fancying a local takeaway in lockdown!

Second visit since Slap and Pickle opened here at The Teller. I am a 65 year old mega fussy eater who does not eat burgers.......well I've been converted! We all had different burgers, all were amazing. I could just eat fish of fries, so naughty, so nice. It isn't cheap but it's true what they say, you get what you pay for. We had fried to share between three of us and there was more than enough, all have good appetites! Now it was cold in there, but in current situation when they have to leave door open we accept it.

The place itself is odd in terms of layout, the decor isn’t very inviting and it seems cold and a bit drab. It seems a strange mix of restaurant and bar but doesn’t achieve either really well. The food choice was small, and this is clearly intentional and not an issue in itself. But we were informed after ordering that some of he dishes we ordered weren’t available and so we substituted (and to the credit of the staff were given a 10% discount for the inconvenience!). The food itself seemed oily. An ambitious menu that just wasn’t executed well, or so it seemed. Dishes were either bland or too oily and didn’t actually look appetising - we left feeling disappointed that we’d spent money and had such a poor quality meal. I’d say that it could possibly be clearer how to order and what sort of food it was but that’s a minor issue. Staff were friendly though! I feel that there was an effort made to ensure a good experience but this was ultimately thwarted by all the above 🙁

As per most reviews about the Teller the service was great with the staff being fast and effeicent once seated, although getting seated was an issue. The food was the real let down here with poorly executed flavour combination and far to much salt being used or added to already salty (cured) meats. Its a shame as the venue is nice, a little cold (temp), but design and layout are great. My overarching opinion is the Teller doesn't really know what it wants to be - the bar/restaurant idea isn't going to work with aloud boisterous bar atmosphere and the restaurant goers suffering with having to shout to be heard. P.s. stay away from the artichoke heart tarte tatin, truely one of most disgusting dishes I have ever had to taste.

Imagine the noise in a swimming pool and the cold breeze that wafts you every time the door opens along with what they call small plates which at best were luke warm and tiny. Bad choice by us - we had tried for 3 weeks to get in - just a let down. Seats are hard canteen style and upholstered bench, but the food - menu is tempting but don't be, you will remain hungry, not be able to chat and have spent a lot of money trying to make the best of a poor experience. Think the place has no clear identity but does attract a lot of drinkers not eaters.

Just the one downside that there weren't enough staff serving beer and they haven't got the 'who is next to be served' sense yet, so I've dropped a star. Surprised and delighted by this place. Tapas style dining (small dishes that come out when they’re ready) but not tied to a particular cuisine. I was told that dishes regularly change based on what quality local and seasonal produce the chef can get, and they all have some sort of original twist. We enjoyed a nice lunch a couple of weeks ago at Harvester in Meadowhall so thought we would return again today. Ordered the same meal of simply chicken and was very disappointed. The chargrilled chicken was still pink inside and the broccoli was so hard and tough that it couldn’t be cut and was also a funny colour. Doubtful we will return.
