We were on a coach outing and quite a few of the passengers, looking for somewhere to eat, ended up in BOA Teapot. What impressed me so much was the quite and efficient way the staff dealt with us all. Tea orders were taken, tea and coffee arrived very quickly, we were told there would be a delay, but to our surprise our food arrived very quickly to very hungry customers. The food was nicely displayed and a joy to eat. So many thanks to the two staff there. quite a lot of the coach

Stopped in our journey at Bradford on Avon and found The Teapot cafe close to our car park. It was lunchtime but we only needed a snack and hot drink. No problem - the staff were extremely friendly and what was on offer suited us down to the ground. It appeared to be a family run business with a welcoming atmosphere, something that is not always guaranteed nowadays. Highly recommended.

Over the years that I've been visiting Bradford on Avon, this has gone from being affordable to ridiculously expensive. BoA is an expensive place to eat under cover in general and this place has now joined those ranks. Food isn't even all that good anymore and portions are less generous. The owner has commented elsewhere that it is very expensive to run a business these days. Understandable, but the Teapot has gone from being a pleasant place for locals and visitors to a place for well off and ignorant tourists. If you're happy with that, fill your boots; if not, buy a picnic from Co-op or Sainsbury and eat al fresco.

Ridiculously expensive for some particularly average food. Very basic options of sandwiches and jackets which is fine but the effort then applied was pretty disappointing. Processed slightly stale bread with hardly any filling and soggy attempt at a garnish. A relatively simple fix to modernise the furniture, atmosphere and menu or simply improve the food quality.

Used to be so good when we moved to bradford on avon. Saturday used to be so popular you would struggle to find a seat with all the regulars. This week no one there sat down looked at the menu and more importantly the price oh my word this is now the most expensive breakfast in Bradford on avon. Used to be the place to go now by the looks of it the place to avoid. what on earth happened ?? I understand the economy and price difficulties but there's value for money and then there's ripping customers off. A breakfast for the kings or more like one who has his wealth..

Whilst I understand there is an economic crisis in this country, I found it unbelievable that this cafe has the audacity to charge £12 for a jacket potato with basic fillings, if my grandson hadn’t needed something to eat and it hadn’t been quite as cold yesterday, I would have walked straight out.. I told my daughter we’ll get something later, even a sandwich was £8 !! That will explain why it was virtually empty at lunchtime in a busy little tourist spot . Two cups of tea, a child’s chicken nuggets & chips ( the beans were an extra £1 ) at a cost of £13.50 totally ridiculous

Location and staff excellent. Staff friendly and the cafes a nice place to sit. Unfortunately the price of food and drinks here is excessive. For 2 of us to have a baguette each 2 drinks and a small bowl of chips was £30! I’ve seen previous responses from the owners and agree that costs have gone up but lots of other cafes can still manage to get this standard of food for much less! If you insist on charging these prices I’d expect larger portions and artisan bread The food was okay but certainly not worth £30! Wouldn’t return which is sad because staff were really friendly!

If you are a coeliac or gluten intolerant I definitely wouldn’t recommend this cafe. When it’s possible to go into ANY supermarket & buy gluten-free loaves, rolls, buns etc., it’s really disappointing to not even be able to order even a sandwich with GF bread. The only option offered was a GF brownie! And £12 for a jacket potato - really?!! There are plenty of other options in this lovely town, hopefully with much more choice for customers with coeliac disease.

Nice piece of carrot cake and coffee was ok but really would have liked to have had decaf with oat milk. However 30p for decaf and another 40p for oat milk seemed a bit steep. V grumpy lady behind the counter, not sure if it’s just her way as she was like it with others but definitely lacking in basic social skills never mind hospitality social skills that are supposed to make you feel welcome and relaxed, not tense and as if you’re not sure whether to walk out! When waiting at the counter for some minutes whilst she busied herself doing things it would surely not have been too much to have expected “I’ll be with you shortly “ , totally appreciate that feeling of needing to be on top of things before serving the next customer but it felt so long that it was rude and I’m thinking “is she for real?” Won’t go back again, plenty of other nice places to go in BOA just that they’re not all open on a Sunday.

Extortionately overpriced. £10 for a jacket potato. £8 for a baguette. 30p extra if you want your sandwich toasted. Extra charge if you want cranberry sauce in your baguette. Nearly £10 for a club sandwich, not forgetting an extra 30p to have it toasted. 30p for non dairy milks, so not friendly to anyone who can’t drink non-dairy milks. 30p for decaf coffee. Extra charges for butter. Flicking through the menu, the food is already very expensive and then it is very shocking to see all these extra costs! I cannot for the life of me understand the justification for a 30p charge to toast a sandwich. It is common practice across many small and large businesses to provide at least one non-dairy milk option, such as soy, and then to maybe charge for more premium options, such as almond milk. I was also quite put off by lots of passive aggressive signage, especially strange comments about not having Wi-Fi. It’s just not needed. If you don’t have Wi-Fi, that’s fine, but I don’t like to feel judged for wanting access to things like WhatsApp! It just doesn’t add to a friendly atmosphere. What is absolutely baffling, however, is the coffee and cakes are really reasonably priced and well portioned! Perhaps they want to discourage customers from having lunches or anything more than a coffee and cake, but its a very strange system. My baguette was very average. The cold Brie made my bacon cold, and it could have done with some chutney or something in it. We only had one packet of mayo but were scared to ask for more Incase we got charged 30p for that too! All the 30p charges for silly things really need to go. The prices are already high, I’m sure you can stretch to toast a sandwich for free!

Assuming the ice-cream parlour is owned by BOA Teapot then I have to comment on my experience here. I love ice-cream so I decided to treat mum & we both had some flavoured ice-cream on offer. We both had one scoop in a tub which was £2.50 each. A few minutes later I decided I wanted to add another scoop in the same tub for the extra £1.00 they charge for 2 scoops. I was astonished when she charged me £2.50 again yet I had only had eaten a little bit of the 1st one. It would have been different if I had gone back after eating the 1st portion or after some time cos then she would have been within her right to charge me £2.50 again but not literally a couple of minutes later so I refused & asked for my money back. The ice-cream was average! - I hate being ripped off! (I am sorry I cannot comment on BOA Teapot - maybe next time??)

Have given average review. Drinks didn't arrive until we were half way through our snack. The bacon and brie baguette was ok. I ordered a toasted sandwich which wasn't as nice as it could have been (bread too thick and not toasted very well, and not that hot). I asked for a glass of tap water, they said they couldn't serve this due to guidelines because of Corona so I had to buy a bottle. I don't know if this is correct or not, but have got tap water everywhere else with no problem. We did share a slice of carrot cake which was good, and the coffee was good once it arrived.

I’ve just come away from the Teapot feeling saddened by our experience. I ordered £35 worth of food and drink and was refused a glass of tap water for my daughter. Understandable if I had only bought an icecream or something small but I don’t think it’s unreasonable to request a small glass of water when ordering 4 meals and 3 other drinks. When I questioned why this wouldn’t be possible the rather unfriendly lady said they were not obliged to serve water. I thought ‘no, not obliged but it wouldn’t do any harm would it?’ Having run a tea rooms on the K&A canal myself I would advise the proprietor to be more welcoming and obliging if they value return custom. The food and drinks were on the expensive side for what we received. I‘m afraid we shan’t be returning and will not recommend as we wouldn’t want anyone else to feel as undervalued as we were.

Whenever I am in Bradford on Avon with my lovely wife I always pop into the BOA Teapot. It is a lovely place to take a break and the food and service are excellent. The cafe is one of the cleanest I have visited and has special memories for me as the building opposite (next to the river) was once my father's shop. The whole area was dominated by the Avon Rubber factory and in the 1960s was very grubby.Thankfully the factory closed some years ago and the area near the BOA Teapot is fun to visit. There are many places in Bradford on Avon to enjoy refreshment but this is one of the best.

My friend and I arrived at about 3:15 planning to get a drink and a cake. We sat down and were chatting when the lady serving came over and, without a pleasant greeting or checking what we would like, announced very firmly that we could only have drinks and cakes - ie no lunch. And order at the counter. The drinks and two small slices of brownie came to £11.70 - not good value in a not especially attractive tearoom. She brought over my flat white and friend's hot choc.'Flat white?' 'Yes here please,' - this happened two or three times, she sounding more annoyed each time. At ten to four she came to take our plates. My friend clearly felt we had outstayed our welcome and said we'd better leave. 'Yes,' said our charmless hostess who then proudly stated she had closed at three when it was dead.In short nice brownie, okay coffee, appalling service, poor value.

My girlfriend and I visited the tearoom during a heavy rain shower to shelter from the elements. After a much needed coffee we left and carried on our journey back to Portsmouth. Once I arrived home I realised I had at some point in the day lost my wallet! I phoned the shop on the off chance that it had been handed in, and to my disbelief it had been. The owner was so courteous and helpful and offered to send the wallet in the post to my address. Less than 24 hours later the wallet was delivered by the postman! I really appreciate the honesty and the helpfulness of the owner of the cafe going above and beyond to get me back my wallet. I can’t sing his praises enough. Stumbled across this place on a Saturday afternoon. Ordered 3 coffees, 3 sandwiches and a children’s meal. Sat down to wait for our order. When the drinks arrived we commented on why there were 2 kids drinks. The waitress said we had ordered 2 children meals. Explained that one of the children’s meal should’ve been a ham and cheese toastie. After being asked 3 times what the sandwich was that I wanted I was told they don’t do toasties. That’s fine as was ok with toasted bread. All happy with that so far but when the waitress tells me she. Has under charged me by £1.30 and was it ok to pay her but I couldn’t use a card as a £5 minimum. We had lunch here today, having eaten at this cafe before & been very impressed. Not so today! I opted for the cheese ploughman’s & my mum had the chicken salad. Firstly the positives - the food came promptly, with friendly service & was nicely presented. However a Ploughman’s it was not! A traditional Ploughman’s is served with a chunk, or chunks, of cheese & with a bread roll or a decent wedge of bread. This had neither! The cheese was broken into pieces & there was no bread. In my book that equals a cheese salad! That said it was pleasant enough, served with apple slices, coleslaw, salad leaves, cucumber, tomato, small pickled onions & a nice chutney. It was also covered in dressing, which wasn’t great. I prefer to add my own, especially if it’s got seeds in it, which this did. My mother’s chicken salad was ok, but just OK. Salad leaves, cucumber, tomato & again covered in dressing but not much chicken. Overall disappointing, which is a shame as with a little effort it could be so much better!

My husband, toddler and I decided to lunch here as it was the closest to the car park and looked ok from the outside. The décor is a little dated but clean and tidy. We received a friendly greeting as we entered and made our way to one of the many empty tables. We were the only customers in the café at that point. The menu is extremely basic but does offer a children's menu as well as one for over 12's. There was, however, only one item on the kids menu suitable for vegetarians and that was a quorn sausage with chips and beans... not actually on the menu but offered by the waitress when we could find nothing else available. The 'soup of the day' was leek and potato but was told that they only serve adult portions ???? Our 18mth old vegetarian loves soup but we were not prepared to pay for and adult portion when it would be wasted. Why the establishment could not offer a smaller portion of soup when it has already been cooked and put on the menu I do not know, as it was not explained to me by the waitress! So my husband ordered a 1/4lb beef burger with cheese and chips and I ordered the only solid vegetarian option ..as opposed to the only liquid option of soup... a vegetable burger with chips. Plus a pot of Earl Grey and an Americano coffee. The food arrived and as our little girl tucked in to her beans, barely touching the chips and sausage, we began to eat our lunch too. My husband seemed to enjoy his beef burger with a tiny morsel of grated cheese upon it but my vegetable burger was really greasy and mushy as well as being extremely bland. I am sure that it must have been deep fried. The chips were fine, not greasy at all though they did have quite a lot of the spiky ones found at the end of the bag! Ok, perhaps I was being a little fussy, but when you are paying to sit inside and eat in a very quiet café that does not look like a roadside greasy spoon, you expect better quality.

I called in with friends for a late lunch at this place - it was at the end of the main lunchtime service so many people were leaving but we still had a good welcome -the 5 of us chose various dishes and all were well presented and served promptly and all together and as we were individuals we all paid separately too - they were accommodating

We met with friends in Bradford on Avon today and decided to give The Teapot another try having been told that it has recently changed hands. Sadly, we were once again disappointed. We all chose to eat cheeseburgers which unfortunately arrived in dry over toasted buns with a small amount of iceberg lettuce and a slice of processed cheese along with a portion of chips. There was no attention to presentation and overall we thought our meals were dry and without flavour. The waitress seemed in a rush to clear our table before one of our party had finished eating which unfortunately made us feel a little unwelcome We are quite local to the area and feel the menu pricing is certainly aimed at the tourist. Sadly, we will not be returning.

We popped in this Restaurant for lunch and I must say it was awful. My Wife went for the Jacket Potato with Cheese,Coleslaw and salad, and I went for the 3 egg Cheese Omelette with salad. When the food arrived it looked ok, my wife's said she was happy with her food,but......mine was horrible,it was not very warm with virtually NO CHEESE in the middle and the salad was covered in a honey mustard dressing,Olives and mustered seeds, sorry but that's not what I ordered! also the Omelette tasted like cardboard. In all not very nice food...will not be going back in a hurry. Very expensive for what we received and no WI-FI.......

Stayed in town with friends in August 2017. I have been to the Secret Garden cafe just around the corner where service was impeccable and food excellent but sadly they don't do breakfast so found this place. Seated at table right next to the toilets then immediately accosted by waitress wanting to take our order after politely telling her we needed more time she hovered around for about a minute before returning again. Horrified at prices for breakfast - £10 for a full English! So opted for breakfast butties which were about a fiver. Waited nearly 30 mins for food to arrive despite the fact it wasn't busy. No word from waitress to say how long it would be and no apology when it arrived. Shocked when it finally arrived as sandwiches seemed thrown together - not even cut in half just tossed on plate - ordered wholemeal bread but served white and poached eggs were overdone despite my friends being runny, bread seemed cheap and very dry. Watched waitress serve orange juice from cheap brand carton - freshly squeezed would be nice. Overall staff very unwelcoming, food very poor quality for cost and overall vastly overpriced. Will not be returning.

I visited this café for the first time and I was impressed, and I went in at around 11.30, and had a very nice soup and bread - I sat inside - I saw the notice on the outside tables which said order and pay at the counter inside - I was not too sure if this applied to the inside or not, but I did this anyway - I sat on the black stools that gave me a good view of the streetThe soup was delicious and even though it was late coffee time/early lunch this was a busy place which is always a good sign and a good turnover of people

We had lunch at this cafe after reading the reviews. There were several occupied tables which looked promising. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The sandwiches were average as was the soup. It would be more acceptable for this to come with a roll or baguette, a piece of sliced bread is hardly 5 star catering. However my main piece of advice is you cannot disguise a day old scone by warming it up. Scones must be served the day they are baked. The one I had definitely had not been baked that day and I regard myself as a scone expert! With a few little changes this could be a lovely local cafe.

The teapot is a nice little cafe for decent home cooked food at a good price. I go here fairly often as it's convenient, comfortable and has a nice atmosphere. I find the coffee quite weak so always ask for an extra shot or two but for breakfast or lunch it's a lovely place to go.

My wife and I used to visit this cafe when it was first called the The scribbling horse and when it first became the teapot always had good food which was reasonable and well cooked but since new owners have taken over it seems to have gone slightly downhill visited yesterday (24/02/17) and although the staff were pleasant and helpful the food was below par and they couldn't make a proper cheese and tomato toastie as they didn't have the correct machine and could only make it in a toaster my mushroom omelette was bland and quite flat and the chips slightly undercooked the tea and latte were fine.At a total of £16:11 it was very underwhelming.

Having ate here before and had a good time I thought it would be good for a birthday meal for 4 on a Monday lunch time how disappointing it was. 2 Steak & Stiton pies ordered although very tasty lacked Stiton and was meant to be served with veg we had to ask for the veg which when it arrived after several minutes the excuse was we only have 2 microwaves not the excuse I wanted, the other 2 meals were fine, unfortunately we will not go back.

We visited on a Sunday for breakfast. Arriving a couple of minutes after 10am (opening time), we queued for a table and then again to order food. There were plenty of tables but appreciated it was busy - not all tables were full. We waited for 50 minutes for our food to arrive, although coffee arrived much earlier. This was prompted by us asking where our food was/checking the order had been made, to which we were told ‘we’d just have to wait because it was busy’. The food arrived 5 minutes later. The food was tasty and we’ve no complaints about the quality or price. But, something about the system here just doesn’t make sense, queuing at every point and then waiting another 50 minutes for scrambled eggs on toast and a bacon sandwich, doesn’t make sense. We arrived at 10 and didn’t leave until 12:15…. People had started arriving for lunch! Sadly, we’d not return. There are just other places nearby that are doing it better.

The location of this establishment is strange because the shop/restaurant sits within what is essentially a business park in the middle of nowhere but it is not hard to find. The setting was ideal for a summer lunch with lots of variously covered areas to shelter from the sun or rain if it happens. Then you realise that all these covered areas are, in fact, the restaurant! I saw no evidence of indoor seating. The main seating area is fundamentally a plastic marquee attached to a shop unit and all the seats are picnic benches. They have an interesting menu, which changes regularly I understand, and it is obvious that this establishment is not trying be a full all ‘singing and dancing’ restaurant and they do make that clear. It uses locally sourced quality produce for Deli style light meals, specifically lunches, and also snacks. The people running it are personable, welcoming and efficient. We found them very helpful and attentive and the food was delicious. Overall, the food menu is a little overpriced I feel but not excessive. That said, a few dishes do seem “over the top’ for what they are. It is the shop where the prices are eyewatering expensive and I think they have gone too far. I can here them now saying that they are supporting local suppliers and that this comes at a cost but times are hard and I do truly believe they, or their suppliers, need to face reality as the pricing is far too high. We need to support businesses like this but they have to respond too! Did I enjoy my meal? Yes, fantastic, Would I go again? Yes, definitely! Would I encourage you to go? Yes definitely! I just warn you that your visit will be enjoyable but not cheap so be prepared.
