The Tea Room & The Fairview Gardener in Forest of Dean

Love this garden centre. A lovely family run centre with a real focus on plants, indoor and out. Amazing selection, always helpful, lovely cafe. The home section near the tills is a bit old fashioned for me so more modern would be great. In a way, it caters for all tastes though. A little gem!

Super impressed with the cafe, we usually find it hard to eat out, my daughter has a nut allergy and I’m coeliac and vegan. The server Luke was very helpful and took his time (despite the cafe being absolutely rammed) very knowledgeable about the menu and allergens. Nice to know the kitchen is a nut free zone. Generous portions, left us no room for cake, so we had to order takeaway :) x We will be back

WOW What a find. Beautiful garden centre, the best plant selection we’ve ever seen (and we are garden centre shopaholics) The Tea Room is fabulous, very popular, extremely busy and a slight delay on food. This being said we were told about the wait on arrival and kept informed as the kitchen caught up with orders. Obviously well supported by locals as I heard “would you like the usual” on many occasions and staff on first name basis with customers. Very impressed, we will be back,

The garden centre itself is tended to chelsea flower show standards, just endlessly lovely and lifts the spirits; the cafe is run by hard working really delightful people and the honest to goodness menu has something for all; my salad was hugely generous and varied although having the quiche warmed by microwave (i was told this would be so) was a mistake and made for a soggy bottom, never a good thing

Lovely restaurant. Stopped in for lunch with my mum. Quiche of the day was amazing (spinach, red pepper and feta). Came with a huge salad and dressings, couldn't even eat it all! Very rare I over eat on salad. All so fresh tasting. Earl Grey tea was delicious. Wish I had room for some of their amazing cakes. Staff were really friendly, helpful and prompt. It was a really lovely lunch. All pro's, no con's. Thank you.

The service is first class. Including finding out someone was lactose intolerant and an offer of pudding with cream was pointed out. The pudding was superb. The food is 6star. The cost is good. This is in the best garden centre restaurant we have visited. Nothing was too much trouble. Obviously fresh local ingredients.

Live local and have quite a few decent garden centre/restaurants. However this by far the best. Today had the best ploughman’s ever. Staff no matter how busy,are always attentive and friendly. Garden centre is an absolute delight and has top quality plants,sundries etc; all reasonably priced.

We visited this garden centre and tea room quite a few time during an extended stay in the area and we just loved it! The food is fantastic (the breakfasts are particularly great), the staff are just absolutely lovely (Sandy made us particularly welcome on quite a few of our visits). The only negative? It’s not close enough to our home in Dorset for weekly visits! 😊

We thoroughly enjoyed afternoon tea here as a birthday treat, delicious food, very friendly staff, couldn’t have done more for us. Lovely to go somewhere so accommodating for dietary requirements, my gluten and dairy free afternoon tea was incredible and I didn’t feel like an inconvenience! Also dog friendly. What an excellent experience, the food was excellent but the staff were faultless,their attention to all our requirements were over and above normal service. What an excellent find. We have been to the Garden Centre many times over the years, but never eaten here as we always have something along our travels elsewhere. Today, we thought we would give it a go, we are soooo glad we did, absolute perfection. I have the Big breakfast, my other half had the smaller one as she is not so greedy as me 🤣 The only thing we didn’t like was the Mushrooms, as for us, they were too strong in taste, but other than that, everything was fantastic. From the moment we arrived, throughout the service to when we left, we were treated like they really care about the customer service & food. We aim to be back again in a few weeks time, we cannot wait to have a repeat experience, I intend to go for the Mega breakfast next time, as I want to try the Hash Browne & Black pudding in particular. The Garden Centre also has some superb items & again, the staff so friendly. Superb experience & great value..yes could be seen as a little expensive, but not when you take into consideration, the fantastic Service & Quality of produce.

The staff were very welcoming. The food was of a very good quality, served hot and fresh. It was busy and is clearly very popular but the staff were very attentive and we were not rushed. I don't eat dairy and they checked very thoroughly that it was not an alergy. Lovely woodburner in the corner kept the whole place cosy. We will definitly visit again.

We booked afternoon tea to celebrate a friends birthday; I phoned to book and explain that I have allergies (gluten and milk) would it be possible to arrange something for me too.. the gentleman I spoke to could not have been more helpful and left me confident that I could eat safely. We arrived on Saturday to a warm welcome and were very well looked after. Fabulous service as the tea flowed. The food was fantastic and I had an afternoon tea that was friendly and looked as good as my friends. We had a lovely time and were grateful for a box to take the leftovers home as were to full to finish.

Loved the lunch with my sister and her husband i was down from torquay food was so good and i bought some plants to take back home .will be back.

This is simply just one of the best tearooms around. We regularly visit and are always warmly welcomed and looked after by all the members of staff. They really do have some of the nicest staff working there, friendly, kind and nothing is too much trouble for them. The food is delicious, from breakfasts to waffles, pancakes and cakes. The coffee, smoothies and milkshakes are also top notch. It’s great to look round the amazing garden centre and there’s always something lovely to look at in the gift shop area as well. One of the best local garden centres to visit, it has everything you could want.

A fabulous tea room with friendly and welcoming staff and lots of choice on the menu. I had nachos which were so yummy with a generous portion and plenty cheese just as I like it! Me and my friend will defo be coming back to try out other yummy dishes soon.

Oh my goodness! What a wonderful little cafe! My friend and I selected an afternoon tea - not only was it delicious, but beautifully presented, an abundance of sandwiches, quiche, cake and scones alongside copious amounts of tea! The staff were friendly and helpful and the venue was set in lovely surroundings. We thoroughly enjoyed this little find.

We visit the tea rooms very often and we love it. It’s our favourite place for breakfast and lunch. The staff are all amazing and a massive shout out to our waitress today - Sandy! Wouldn’t have thought it was just her second day. She appears to fit right in and was so helpful and attentive.

The lovely Tea Room (and the wonderful Fairview garden centre) is a favourite place to have a catch up with friends. I usually have a lighter lunch of a toastie, (always delicious) but yesterday I fancied something more substantial, so I opted for sausage beans and mash - simple, but just the job, great sausages and great mash (no lumps!). My friends also enjoyed their meals and had desserts - wow! the pancakes and waffles looked fantastic and there was a great range of cakes to choose from. The staff, particularly Izzy and Luke (hope I’ve remembered the names correctly) were so friendly and helpful. We’ll be back.

This morning my partner and I chose to have breakfast at The Tea Room because of all the excellent reviews, and my word, we were not disappointed. We were greeted by a lovely member of staff called Luke who immediately sat us down and supplied us with menus. We sat right next to the log burner which was wonderfully cosy. Luke also offered to move us should we get too warm but we were very content by the fire. We had a coffee and chai latte and ordered some breakfast. Luke warned us that as everything is made fresh, there may be a little wait. We were in no rush and wanted to enjoy a leisurely morning so we were more than happy to wait. We sipped our hot drinks by the fire whilst enjoying our surroundings and the lovely views from the windows. We looked through the variety of food and drink on offer and made a mental note to visit again for lunch. Numerous staff checked in with us; asking if we were ok or needed anything. Luke alerted us to our breakfast being worked on in the kitchen so we knew to expect it soon and so we ordered more hot drinks. When the breakfasts arrived they were beautifully presented. I had the eggs royale and my partner had the big bird breakfast and they were both delicious. Whilst eating, a fresh delivery of bread and scones came in which all looked rather tasty. We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfasts and most certainly will be visiting again. Thank you to Luke and the lovely team.

Called in sat morning 25 1 20 my wife and i both had a small breakfast with drinks ,staff very polite exellent service and spotlessly clean,cutlery and sauces came out before meal so you dont have food going cold whilst waiting for them (some places take ages) and toast came out with the meal little things but make all the differance we call in there all the time will certainly will eat there more often exellent places .

He visitado los salones de té varias veces y siempre me he encontrado con una bienvenida encantadora y un servicio fabuloso. La calidad de las bebidas y la comida es excelente y siempre hay una amplia selección de pasteles y bandejas. Todavía no hemos tenido una de sus comidas calientes, pero mirando alrededor de la cafetería parece que otros huéspedes realmente estaban disfrutando de su comida. Deffo vale la pena conducir fuera de Gloucester y tampoco te pierdas la tienda de regalos y un paseo por el centro de jardinería. No puedo recomendarlo lo suficiente!

Visited for my daughters birthday lunch - staff were amazing as they catered for more people than I’d booked for despite the fact they were really busy. Service was relaxed and we didn’t feel pressured at all. Food was lovely and very well presented - children could have variations on the menu. All in all a fabulous place to go plus the garden centre is well worth a look

We visited for brunch last weekend . This place is amazing . We both had an English breakfast . The quality was very good and the meat is from a local butchers .The portions are a good size my husband loved this !

We had a lovely time there ! Wonderful Tea Room with a fantastic range on offer! So much choice we found it quite difficult to decide! Food going to other visitors looked amazing and homely - I wish I was greedy enough to try several of the tempting offers! When the food arrived it was beautifully presented , well portioned and was obviously fresh and appetising! The prices were good too and can highly recommend the Chai Latte - one of the best of many that I have had! The staff were very friendly and welcoming and being in a wheelchair I felt extra welcome! This is truly a small patch of paradise in country!

This is such a lovely little Garden Center. The plants are fresh and well cared for. The knowledge of the staff is brilliant. The Tea Room is cosy and warm with an array of wonderful cuisine delights. They cater for all dietary needs. The quality of the food and presentation is excellent. Dropped in on the way back from the Forest of Dean. Went to the cafe and it was packed as there was something going on in the garden centre. We got a table and ordered a ploughman's each It was substantial, tasty ham, a hunk of cheese, salad, apple and delicious chutney, The only criticism was that the foccaccia was quite dry. The staff were delightful and very friendly. It was extremely nice

The setting alone has brought us back time after time for years, but for a while this terraced garden centre in Birdwood seemed to have closed.

Such a find! A lovely garden centre with a shop that sells unusual things not the usual stuff! The tearoom is just lovely, lovely staff and delicious food! Pancakes are scrummy!

If you are travelling on the A40 and want somewhere for a coffee and something to eat, then this is a great place to know about. The garden centre is fine but we really go for the food and time our visit for breakfast time when we are en route to Wales. In winter try for a table near the wood burner; in summer there's a little terrace. It's also dog friendly. The breakfasts are delicious and so is the coffee. The service is kind, friendly and welcoming -with a nice professional edge; on the one very unusual occasion when a party of cyclists descended on them unannounced and service was a bit slow, apologies and two free lattes came whizzing out of the kitchen long before we'd noticed that there was much of a delay; Good work everyone.

An excellent garden centre selling all sorts of indoor and outdoor plants, edible plants and fruit and veg plants. More seeds varieties, some of which are so exotic I’ve never seen them before and a very friendly owner.

Love coming here for the breakfast and cakes (not at the same time) - lovely cafe situated in a lovely garden centre, food is delicious and gets the 'paws up' from my dog who is also very welcome! Looked up a place to eat in Gloucester as I didn't know the area very well and the reviews for the tea room were fantastic so went with it and I am so glad I did - such great food and wonderful service! I will be back again to try the lovely cakes - thanks so much for a superb lunch!

We were recommended to Fairview gardener and Tea Rooms, as an easy trip for a light lunch. We spent more time than anticipated looking at the very good selection of plants, which were well laid out and easy to access with a disability. The tea room was busy, but had a good choice with some less ordinary options, and the order was delivered quickly.The staff were very helpful and friendly and the prices good. We shall return for both plants and food.

Hadn't been to this garden centre for at least 20 years and what an amazing place for food. 4 of us for breakfast with a generous selection of pancakes and bacon sandwiches and porridge. All beautifully presented but more importantly tasted great. Staff very friendly and customers the same - reassuringly busy for a Thursday morning. Highly recommended. Garden centre good too.

After months of hearing positive feedback about the Tea Room we finally went today and were not disappointed. A very friendly atmosphere and tasty food. Very friendly staff and personal service, even though it was very busy. The garden centre is lovely - a real hidden gem. We will be back to try the breakfast!

First visit to this lovely little garden centre (discovered courtesy of google!) while visiting a friend in Cheltenham. Will definitely be back next time I’m in the area! The guys here were friendly and very helpful. The plants looked healthy and were all laid out nicely with lots of different stone ornaments for sale (big and small) which were effectively dotted around in between the plants. There’s also an area that sells gifts/cards/dried flower arrangements etc and you can also buy the usual plant food and pest control products. The tea room here does breakfast, lunch and cakes. Didn’t try any of the food this time, but it looked very nice, especially the cakes! Look forward to visiting again another time. Shame the garden centre isn’t more local to me in Swindon, otherwise I’d be a regular customer!

Mothering Sunday and I remember I have some vouchers for the Fairview Garden centre. I decide to take my Mum and elderly uncle (96) to have a little trip out and a look around the centre. I have not been here before and nether had my two relatives. I was impressed from the time we pulled in to the car park, nice and small independent, enough parking (I even managed to get close to the entry even though it was busy as my uncle is not too steady on his feet).

It was busy when we arrived which was fine, but upon ordering I asked for poached eggs and was told they could only do fried or scrambled eggs, as they’d run out?!

This Tea Room and Garden Centre offer good value for money with excellent customer service. The staff are helpful and friendly and always keen to please. The Tea Room offers an interesting menu, including breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea with special diets being catered for. Dogs are welcome, which is great after a walk in the countryside with doggy ice cream available, which our dog loved.

My husband and I visited this morning for breakfast and it was great! The decor was rustic and modern. They have a great selection of loose leaf tea which is very rare for a garden centre cafe. The staff were really friendly, we will definitely return!

My partner and I had breakfast here on Saturday 2nd Feb and it was exceptional. From the lovely warm smile from the young lady behind the counter when we arrived to the quality breakfast, great tasting cuppa and our chat with the owner, everything was great. Sometimes you can eat out and all you remember is the bill - what we will remember from here are the lovely people we met who made us feel like valued customers even though it was our first visit. Believe me it wont be out last. Highly recommended.

My wife and I went here on the 4th Nov for a light lunch and we had some very nice sandwiches and two pots of tea. It is small and friendly with a great choice of food which is well priced and very nicely presented. Definitely our favorite place for a treat.

Had a Sunday brunch here for the first time a couple of weeks ago on a recommendation from a friend and we weren’t disappointed.

Visited The Tea Room for a hot chocolate on a day out. Was probably the best part of our day. The staff were unbelievably helpful and kind, the drinks were lovely and the atmosphere in itself was wonderful. Wasn’t a long visit but definitely will be returning. They had a real fire not just heating so it was so warm considering we went in a cold month. The decor is sheek modern. A very nice place to stop by for a snack, highly recommend.

We found The Tea Room on our way to Hereford and stopped off for a quick bite, but were very pleasantly surprised by the fantastic choice and range of food on offer. Everything was excellent, the service, presentation and quality of the meals was brilliant. Will definitely be stopping here again on our next visit to Hereford.

I have bought my parents twice now to Fairview Gardener and Tea Rooms and they have absolutely loved coming. The food is fantastic, service is brilliant and always with a smile and the atmosphere is cosy and friendly. Mum and Dad love coming here regardless to them both living the other side of the county, so clearly shows how much they love it there. 11 out of 10 as per usual!

Leeways Packaging are a local company just down the road from The Tea Rooms and use the Tea Rooms most weeks for company corporate entertaining, inside the Tea Room and external catering !

This is a charming attached to garden centre that also looks decent. Superb ploughman’s excellent quality and value for money. The flat was white delicious too! The cafe decoration and setting is very pleasant and the service was very friendly.
