The Tea Room in Kensington and Chelsea

Harrods tea room very disappointing and hugely overpriced. 4 small finger sandwiches, 4 small finger deserts and 2 scones with a pot of tea. When I went to pay I mentioned the lack of sandwiches and was promptly told you should have asked for more. Actually we should have been offered more. Would rather pay Ritz prices

Reserved and attended this Tea room (previously The Georgian) for the third time this Saturday, April 9th at 2pm. The tea room has changed names and staff which was very apparent. The hostess was quite helpful and courteous. Our server was observantly disappointed that we were not drinking alcohol and did not engage after this with us except for three times. He was not professional, spoke very incoherent English when explaining what we were about to eat, most importantly annoying was our having to ask another person to fill our tea with more hot water. He did need to take a smoke break and walked through the tea room in his coat when returning. Finally, I had to flag down a person to pay our bill, who in turn, had to find our server. He then proceeds to bring me a box and point to the scones I asked if we could take with us motioning for me to do it myself. I inquired about a bag, which he responded and began to walk away from me saying, "no bags". Worst server and will not return or recommend to visiting guests.

Decided to take a break from retail therapy and enjoy an afternoon tea, but we hadn’t booked! The food hall was rammed so we walked in here expecting to have a loping wait. Instead we were given a first class welcome, were soon seated on the mezzanine which was fabulous, all the staff were exceptional.

Fabulous afternoon tea and the place was lovely. We were greeted immediately and offered to be seated earlier than Our booking time . The lady at the reception was warm and polite. The ambience of the vast tea room was great with soft music playing . We were served the high tea and offered several refills of tea and the sandwiches as well as the fresh cakes . The quality was very fresh and dainty . The staff were covid aware and wore gloves and took several photos when we asked them . It was very pleasant surrounding and we were given attentive service . Also we met Peppe.who informed us of his 29 years and he was very pleasant and attentive immediately offering us hot tea as we were so busy chatting that it had gone cold .we spent over 3 hours in the tea rooms and overall we had a wonderful day. It was value for money for around 100 pounds for 2 with a pre paid voucher .vegan and gluten free options available

Visit was amazing and the best experience. Staff were really good and the food and drinks were amazing too. Would go again definitely. They did extra as it was mine and my partners anniversary.

I had the pleasure to experience an afternoon tea at Harrods. The buffet include classic sandwiches, mini cakes and scones. If the table is for 3 people you get unlimited refill but what you normally get is more than enough.

While visiting Harrods we decided to enjoy some tea and coffee with some lovely cakes. However after being shown to our seats only then did we realise that the prices being charged were nothing short of exorbitant. As we had not paid anything and had not received any more attention from the staff we just got up and left. Never again.

My friend and I tried to visit the Harrods tea room today for high tea with our hungry and thirsty toddlers. We sat there for over an hour and the staff ignored us. We asked for menus and the staff did not return to take our order.

We were given a Virgin experience for afternoon tea at Harrods. You can just imagine the excitement to be going to Harrods for tea..... what a let down. We arrived and there is a huge cake station with amazing looking cakes and beside it a station where the cake cutter cuts the cakes and we saw cakes cut and sitting their for 20 mins or more. We were shown to our table and we were given an options of numerous teas, did the waitress help or explain them, of course not. Tea’s ordered and delivered the. 2 scones arrive with jam and cream. Did we have any choice of anything, of course not!! Were we up sold to a better tea with sandwiches and cakes, of course not. Was the table clean, no. When I pointed this out I got a shrug of the shoulders. Would I recommend the tea, absolutely, the tea and room were loverly, but it could have been so much better. Visiting Harrods was a must for me when I visited London. The name is iconic with London. And, of course, this included a visit to their Tea Room. One can not visit London without having High Tea and not where better than Harrods. We did it, thoroughly enjoyed it, found the service exemplary and the sandwiches and scones to be just what we would expect. It was a little pricy but this is not something you do every day.

I was a fan of the Georgian Restaurant afternoon tea. The new afternoon tea has now transformed into nothing special, indeed merely a high street experience. I booked a table by phone and it was confirmed to me that the pianist plays live music only on Fridays, Saturday and Sundays. As we found out there is now NO pianist playing music at anytime a change we later found out that happened approximately three months ago! During the afternoon tea there was what seemed like a cruise liner's wealth of passengers disembark into the tea rooms herded like cattle into the empty chairs by their clipboard supervisors as the tea room staff hurried around. The new afternoon tea is not what it used to be and I cannot recommend. I did send Harrods an online email query regarding the pianist and the confirmation for my booking. Three weeks later I still have no reply following an acknowledgement.

Stopped in for afternoon tea after visiting the Queen's Gallery. Excellent tea selection and very nice sweets to go with it.

Ben je een keer in Londen en je wilt iets leuks doen en je hebt er geld voor over? Ga dan eens naar de Tea Room in Harrods. Wij kwamen aan om 20.00 uur, net op het moment dat de keuken van de Tea Room ging sluiten. Dit kwam de manager (een heel oud vriendelijk mannetje) ons vertellen en ik vroeg of we nog wel thee konden krijgen en wellicht iets lekkers erbij. Hij sommeerde gelijk een ober om thee te regelen en hij zelf zou wel iets lekkers gaan halen voor ons. We kregen een pot thee, netjes ingeschonken door de ober en de manager kwam terug met een bord met acht gebakjes erop. We hebben een heerlijke cream tea gehad en een ontzettend geva en leuke ervaring rijker. Het kostte ons 30 pond, maar ik zou zo weer gaan. Volgende keer als ik in Londen ben, ga ik zeker daar nog eens theedrinken en dan zorg ik dat ik voor sluitingstijd aanwezig ben ;-). Echt een aanrader!!!!

It was a Saturday evening visit after the shopping in store. Had a wait on a line outside to get a table. Once seated, I ordered for a Lapsang Souchong Tea - Was told after a while that it was not available. Then ordered for a Champagne.... As the other orders were got to the table a while later, I was told that they did not have any champagne. Seriously!!!! The place is inside Harrods - It would not take a long time to get a bottle of champagne from downstairs wine department. A total let down experience.

As you know you can get high quality things in every genre,tea time is not exception. The asmosphere is excellent and comfortable. You'll have a happy moment with lovey sweets, tea and service.
