Our party of 13 came for a special occasion on Sunday. Staff were friendly, accommodating and hardworking. The food was excellent and the background music great too. I'd highly recommend.

Had breakfast here today and the service was excellent, all staff very pleasant and helpful. The food was great too.

Not as good as it used to be. A few years ago this was the best breakfast in Liverpool, but not any more. Pancakes were dense and stodgy, and were supposed to be served with “Bobby’s” maple flavour syrup but I think it was just golden syrup. Scrambled eggs were completely bland and strangely browned on top, like they’d been sitting under the heater for a while. Hash browns were very greasy, and much smaller than they used to be. Staff are lovely but it’s not worth the money any more. I won’t be visiting again

Incredible brunch and the nicest staff. So friendly, easygoing and personable. We really enjoyed our experience here and would absolutely recommend it!

Me and my family come here quite often as the food is always fabulous. The staff are so lovely and the margaritas are the best especially on 2 4 1! Good deal with blue light card. A regular haunt of ours. Great for kids too. My little boy loves coming here for 'the best hotdog'!

Quick service and friendly staff. However conveyer belt food and it was ok but could have had better breakfast elsewhere.

It's been a while, but as expected fabulous. It was our anniversary so thought we would try it again. We all really enjoyed the food, the restaurant is well set up & the staff were great too. Good to be back.

Great bar/restaurant. One of my favourite places to eat is a fab breakfast.

Has a good menu good variety but I go for the full English breakfast 😋 You also get unlimited coffee top ups.

Really enjoyed our brunch/ early lunch. Serving all day breakfasts. My salmon and cream cheese bagel was delightful. Staff were lovely, really helpful and welcoming. The decor is great with lots of memorabilia. Excellent choice.

Only give 4 stars because even though are food was lovely yesterday we come back today eggs beny was lovely but the toast was half buttered dryed bread for the bby the staff member did bring some butter out but still should be buttered properly. That isy only bad thing to say. Churros lovely also probs the best. Atmosphere lovely and staff lovely

So I booked online on their own website for 5 people , family , for their Tuesday offer pancakes on half price all day . I got email confirmation, so me, my partner and our 3 children got there at 4 a clock . As soon as we went in we got told we have no booking . I showed them my email and both of the staff were nodded their heads “ sorry , we have no bookings today , I don’t know who sent you that email” . They were both looking confused , place was empty and they didn’t even offer us a table . I work in hospitality too , and if someone shows up showing me a confirmation of a booking that we don’t have on the system, we try to accommodate the best possible. I had to ask them if they can give us a table for 5. They gave us one in the end. They brought the menus and I said politely that we are there just for the pancakes offer. They asked which pancakes offer ? I said the one from Instagram and showed them it , which at that time was posted 8 hour prior . And their answer was that the brunch it’s over , they only serve pancakes with chocolate and they re full price and not on offer . And I asked how come on instagram post say it’s available? They said it was finished at 3, and they don’t honed that offer anymore . We had to leave with all 3 kids extremely disappointed and upset. I messaged on instagram page and the person answered me yes ! We do serve the pancakes on half price all day ! So .. make it all short , staff that don’t really care , they looked bored of their job and not trying to help at all, not even with offering us a table , even when we had a booking available to show .. and the whole situation put me off this place . Kids were so upset. And just to get the message after on instagram after I explained what happened.. that YES WE DO serve pancake half price all day .. Wow ! That’s shocking, false advertising if you keep saying you serve it , but when I get to the real location I got refused the offer , and staff don’t know nothing about it .

Always a great meal at tavern, staff are attentive, efficient and friendly. And food was hot and fresh.

I recently visited The Tavern Bar for breakfast and was highly impressed. The service was attentive and the tea and coffee were delicious. I would highly recommend it for a satisfying breakfast experience.

My son took me for breakfast on Friday, I was really disappointed, egg,beans and mushrooms where cold , we were warned that the plates were really hot ,so did not expect the food to be cold ,very pricey for what you get 😑

Fabulous breakfasts, very welcoming AND if you are there between 08:00 and 09:00 they knock 50% off your bill!!!!! Which was a very pleasant surprise.

This Eatery is a hidden gem of a place. The staff of so friendly and nothing is too much trouble, the unlimited coffee tastes so good I had to take a takeaway cup with me as well. Anything on the menu you're not sure of asking for a substitution is not too much trouble. Food is absolutely Spot On and cooked to perfection.

Food quality and service were fantastic. Tavern, what else can I say. Tariq was our server, great service from him. He had bluer eyes than the ocean, they glistened like a turquoise sea in Greece. Looking at his eyes made me a better man. His sparkle cured my hangover.

Dark and stuffy, food was bland and overpriced. £21 for two jugs of orange juice in this economy is insane.

This place is perfect the staff are really friendly and nothing is to much trouble the hardest part is waiting for table because it's so popular. With bottomless tea and coffee you can't go wrong.

Great selection of food and drinks, lovely staff, and good prices! It tends to get very busy during weekends, but I have never been turned away for a walk in! 😊

Breakfast is delicious, plenty of choice on the menu. Friendly and attentive staff. Prices have gone crazy compared to what they were! Used to be about £7 for a Full English now it's double that. Otherwise would recommend.

Great Staff, Wonderul Atmosphere, Food came quick but it wasnt awfully busy at the time so was expected.. Would highly recommend getting the American Breakfast, with a side of Doorstep toast (or a loaf cut into 2 pieces)

Excellent experience. We came to eat and the food was great, in addition to the very good treatment of the staff. Something that surprised us is that they served complimentary Tea and Coffee (and very delicious). I would repeat the experience again, the best restaurant we have tried in Liverpool

Lovely breakfast, but a bit noisy when more people are there.

Went for dinner around 8pm midweek and stayed for a drink and starter as there was we were almost the only people there and zero atmosphere. Tables were being laid up for breakfast so left to go on elsewhere. Needs a bit of a refurb and refresh it seems.

The award for the best English breakfast in the world is more than deserved. Purely British environment, excellent products used. Quick service and a unique setting. The breakfasts are plentiful and tasty, suitable for different diets. An experience to absolutely try.

It is always a pleasure to go to The Tavern Co on a Saturday morning no matter what the weather is like outside. Plates are generous, breakfast is tasteful, and the staff is wonderful.

My family of 6 had a lovely meal here for my daughters birthday. Couldn't fault the service or the food. Sadly, it wasn't very busy (despite a live singer), which is such a shame when at one time you had to book well in advance to guarantee a table. Nice gesture for her to get a free dessert too. Will definitely be returning here.

The friendliness of the staff is a credit to the owner. I ordered baby ribs, and I'm sure the portion I got was a baby dinosaur. They were so tender and full of flavour.

Waited 1 hour just for the staff to tell us there isn’t a sign of our food, it wasn’t even busy so I don’t understand how it’s that difficult to make some scrambled eggs and beans. Terrible service.

Been here twice with my family whilst visiting Liverpool for breakfast, both visits we have had a great breakfast and coffee, great service.

Really disappointed, arrived here for tea/dinner, was given a table, hardly any customers, I think there was maybe 4 tables?, waited 20 minutes for someone to take our drinks order, then people who come in after us where ordering food and the waiters didn’t acknowledge us for around 35 - 40 minutes, watched the manager handle food without clean hands behind the bookcase? Near the till - making up pancakes, which I fully believe isn’t very sanitary! The manager seen us and offered us free drinks for waiting so long, which we politely refused, didn’t end up eating here, went across the road and had some food. Really upset about this place, one of our favorite places to go for breakfast and now seems to have lost so many staff and care for the customer no longer being. Very sad indeed.

I got eggs benedict 3 TIMES. I sent it back the eggs where under cooked everything the final one I got the eggs where like bullets the smallest amount of sauce on them I definitely will not be returning there its gone down hill so much and when you do send food back the manager gives you the dirty looks badly run place needs a new chef and new manager

We went a group of 3 adults and two kids for a brunch. They told us we have to wait around 10-15 minutes we waited almost 30 min to get a table and another 10 min to get a waiter to reach our table. Food was in great quantity but wasn’t tasty the patty was dry and the bun as well. We had American beauty burger. Waiters forgot half of the order but yeah the restaurant looks authentic and the background music was good as well.

We were having a nice time until they turned all the music off to put the football noise on at 1 in the afternoon because one person had asked them to. So loud you couldn’t talk. Wasn’t even a good game. Bizarre

Fresh hot and efficient lighting conditions was poor staff great so that bought enough light and joy to our meal would recommend the sea bass

Lovely place, service was fine. I ordered huevos rancheros, didn’t enjoy it at all. I do love the pancakes so will get that next time !

A very disappointing experience to say the least, young, blonde, rude, ill mannered waitress, who spoilt all day. food was cold and the portions were small. I would not recommend this place and it’s not a place the same place that I used to visit and enjoy.

Attended the Mexican Tavern at 12 noon today. Extremely disappointed by the customer service. The young blonde lady just placed our food on the table with no condiments, waited around 10 minutes to get her attention and still did not get any knives or forks. The food was cold and definitely did not look like what was on the menu cannot and will not recommend this place.

came to the Tavern at 12:30 pm today we ordered the breakfast and the chicken burger. The waitress came slapped the food down on the table and left. There was no condiments i.e. knives folks to eat this food. We waited 10 minutes and then upon opening the burger bun, there was a minuscule piece of chicken. Furthermore, my breakfast had the thinest toast I’ve ever seen very misleading from the photograph and description. I politely informed the manager of the service and quality of the food we received. I cannot recommend this place and will not be coming back.

Don't tell anyone about this place. It's a well kept secret that has a great atmosphere, friendly staff, great food and a large range of things to enjoy drinking. I like this pub.

Waiting over 35 mins to get table, watching groups come in not booked seated.asked how long till we would be table, answer from staff was how long is a piece of string. Walked out not going to return with that attitude

So been to the tavern a good few times for breakfast, always enjoyed it so tried tonight for tea! Biggest waist of £100 we have even spent and that was even reduced by 25%.. arrived to a rude waiter small with no hair! Boots on.. told my friend not to grab drinks rudely when he wasn’t .. we ordered starters and mains! Starters was fine bit taste less but edible.. waited a good while for our mains came one order was wrong so this rude waiter was questioning saying are we sure it was wrong! Yes he ordered steak not chicken! It was absolutely taste less we had to wait another 10 mins for the other meal to come out! Onion rings were burnt to a crisp! My son’s chicken burger had one lettuce on it! I had a hair on my wraps, the steak was like rubber! We said to David the waiter who was amazing btw that we never complain but there was to many things to not stay something so he took 25% off our bill which was nice But the man with no hair don’t no his name when we sent the chicken fajitas back he was running up the stairs eating it too! Will be back for pancakes for breakfast But definitely wouldn’t recommend it for tea Long wait it was empty too should have known really .! Big no and waist of money too

We thought this place had good reputation but breakfast was overall poor quality. Disappointing. We will not return.

Excellent. They were extremely busy and understaffed on our first visit. They explained they would seat us and that there would be a delay. We happily sat and ordered, yes there was a wait for food but the staff worked tirelessly to ensure everyone was kept informed of delay and topped up on drinks. The food was delicious on arrival and we will definitely return on our next trip. Best peppercorn sauce I've had in many years. If they can get it so right on a difficult day we look forward to our next visit. We'll done everyone. ✔️
