The Liner Hotel in Liverpool

Last minute booking for one night. Peter the receptionist was very welcoming and helpful. Received an upgrad to a quiet room with a street view on the 4th floor rather than overlooking the platform. Great location if arriving to Lime Street rail station and for walking to the major sights of Liverpool. Didn't take advantage of the 20% food and drink discount.

Great hotel , location spot on , lucky to have John on reception who was 1st class , couldn't do enough for me and my family .. has the personality and humour to go with it , the Irish ☘️ charm

Room wasn't ready when I arrived but was soon sorted. Waited in reception - pleasant. Lovely room with large bathroom. Plenty of space. Had breakfast included but also went to the Seven Seas Brasserie for dinner - shepherds pie was very tasty.

Stayed for 1 night, as it was our aniversary , everything was perfect, would highly recccomend

We have stayed at this hotel a number of times while going to football games at Anfield. Location is beside Liner Street train station. Staff are most helpful. We were especially impressed with Peter who works at reception for his assistance and professionalism. Would recommend this hotel. Looking forward to next trip.

Booked pre theatre dinner. Seated and served quickly with our choice of food. Caesar salad and a portion of chips for me and a speedy greens salad for my friend. All extremely tasty and the chips were perfect; creamy in the middle and crisp on the outside.

Ideal for a train lover. My room had a view of all the platforms. And you could enjoy the sound of every announcement starting very early in the morning. The hotel inside was fine. Big fish tanks are cool. Fun theme. The room was ok. Kind of annoying not to have plugs by the beds. Instead 4 usb-a plugs. Which is ok. But most phones are usb-c now - so it’s a bit out of date again. Parking was very convenient and staff were great.

Rooms, sorry, cabins, nice and clean, bathroom a little small but functional. Windows open in room which is good because it keeps the room cooler and bad because I was over the main entrance and even on the 6th floor could hear the boy racers and noisy residents returning from a night out. Staff were polite and helpful. Location is less than 2 minutes from the station, and honestly? A little too far from the waterfront to get away with the name and the theme, but each to their own.

The best experience ever! A special shout-out to Danielle on reception who went above and beyond for us, silly me forgot my bouquet, Danielle jumped into action, she didn't just grab the bouquet from my room, she ran! Yes ran down to St George's to make sure I had my bouquet, from the moment we arrived at the hotel she made us feel like royalty, huge thank you and please enjoy the small token of our appreciation we left for you. Also big shout out to Emily also from reception I apologise for the rudeness you had to endure from my visitor! (I am so embarrassed) You are fabulous and provide an amazing experience,you are fabulous and didn't deserve the treatment you received I am so sorry lovely. Room- we stayed in a pent house suite(603), oh my gosh! It was fabulous. Plenty of space, a comfy sofa, huge bed and the the spa bath was exactly what was needed after our busy 2 days. We will 100% be booking again, possibly for our 1st anniversary 😁. Food- The bar was lovely ,2 for 1 on cocktails, I did have a meal-the bacon cheese burger was delicious , my only negative moment in there was that it took over 1 hour for my burger to arrive, the bar staff were fabulous and did chase us my order a few times so no fault on them. Breakfast- Plenty of choice, I had some fresh melon, mini muffins and some of the cooked breakfast with plenty of lemon water, the food was all fresh and good quality. The carpark is secure and gives you peace of mind while parked in a city centre, we came back late from setting up our event and the gates were chained , but reception radioed for assistance and moments later we gained access to parking. Room was very clean and tidy, the bathroom in particular was spotless. Bed was perfectly comfortable and staff helpful. A tad expensive though.

Busy but service wasn't great Food average

Stayed here with work. As others have mentioned the rooms are tired. The wallpaper was peeling and had holes in it. Fittings were coming away from the wall. Although it was relatively clean the worn out nature of the room made it feel dirty. The walls are very thin. The big problem for me was the room was so hot and stuffy even though it wasn't particularly warm outside. The window can only open a crack and there is no aircon. The fan provided was loud and only succeeded in pushing hot air round the room. This all lead to a hot and uncomfortable night. The breakfast was ok. The communal areas seemed nice. The free parking is secure and is a useful addition.

The hotel was out dated and the walls were scuffed. Bathroom was mouldy and the whole place smelt stale and like sweat. carpet was torn and dusty i couldn’t believe it.

Very nice in itself. However: you are close to the train station and hear the announcements there very loudly and almost all night long (despite double windows). Good for one night, but wouldn't want to stay longer.

Didn't stay there, had lunch prior to theatre. Good tasty food, staff attentive and helpful.

Great find with free parking. We come to Liverpool a lot to visit our uni student daughter. This has been one of the best value hotels we've found. Added bonus included a great breakfast with quality sausages and bacon. Comfy beds and exceptionally clean. 5 minutes walk into the centre and 8 to Liverpool one.

Great location next to lime Street train station 2 minutes walk in too town centre? Ask for a room facing away from station our you will get sore ears from tannoy calls from train station.

Lovely quiet comfortable room with a great location especially if arriving by train as the hotel is situated next door.

I was having a hard time changing a booking I made with Expedia, but the hotel management came around and helped with that after some time. Other than that, I loved my stay there. The room was nice and clean. The hotel has a restaurant and a bar. The bar has happy hour and a pool table, and the drinks are amazing.

Stayed here a few times. 5 star s because the house keeper on the 5th floor was fantastic. Helpful, professional and friendly. One of the restaurant waiters was surly.

Superb location only a stones thrown from Lime Street train station and The Academy (O2). Nautical theme with plenty of photos and styling to feel like you are on a ship, such as: calling the floors decks; staff uniforms; names of bar and rooms. Friendly and helpful staff who were more than happy to share knowledge of Liverpool. Room was cosy, didn’t seem to be extraction fan in bathroom but it soon cleared after a shower. Only 1 lift was working so sometimes there was a short wait as only fitted comfortably 4 people. Baggage area to leave bags prior and after check in which was super handy. Good value for money. Good selection of cold and hot breakfast items.

A hotel right next to the main train station and centrally located. My room 314 was clean and in good condition. The English breakfast was completely sufficient to start the day full of energy.

Stayed here for one night and it was a great stay! The hotel was very cool with a ship theme. Breakfast was amazing as well! Only down side is it’s right beside the train station so it can be loud at times but other than that, fantastic hotel, would definitely go back!

Great location, free parking for guests, friendly reception staff. Room was a bit dated but perfectly adequate for the price. Unfortunately I didn't sleep well as I was disturbed by constant noise from the extractor fans on the flat roof outside my window, but I'm a light sleeper and at least I wasn't on the railway station side which would have been a lot worse. Sadly my stay came to an unpleasant end on the morning I checked out. I had gone to bed with the do not disturb sign on the door and the chain across, despite this at 10.52 there was a knock on the door and it was the chambermaid telling me I had to check out at 11am. I said yes, 11am - it's 10.52. Instead of apologizing and saying she would come back at 11, she then tried to barge her way into my room! Persistently and very aggressively. If the chain hadn't been across she would have been in the room with me only partially dressed. I think this is a despicable, disrespectful way to treat guests and complained strongly at reception on my way out, receiving an apology and acknowledgement that it shouldn't have happened. But I'm never going back to the Liner.

A lovely hotel. Exceptionally clean. Very respectable and not full of Scallies. Deff Decent breakfast. Good location. My favourite city hotel.

Excelente atención, habitación amplia y llena de todas las comodidades y servicios de cortesía. Buena ubicación, desde ahí fui caminando a todas partes y además está cerca de la estación de buses y de trenes que conecta con otras ciudades. Tienen servicio de desayuno y además restaurant y bar con happy hour. Los espacios comunes son amplios y hermosamente decorados, dando la impresión de estar en un barco de lujo. Definitivamente volvería a quedarme ahí cuando tenga la posibilidad.

Lovely welcome from Sue on reception. Organised everything for us. Staff and service was amazing. Cannot fault this hotel in anyway. Was perfect and good value.

Great decor in the main areas but dated rooms. The staff were rude when asked for an extension for my CPAP. Great location outside Lime Street Station.

Ok value for money. Walking distance to city centre. A bit worn.
