The Taste Of Istanbul in Breckland

Having been with some colleagues before, I decided to show a friend of mine the restaurant last night, and it was absolutely incredible as always. The food as always was phenomenal, perfectly balance with the ambience of the place being calming and relaxed. Plus the service from our waitress was outstanding, with her being attentive, efficient, and friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone, and I will certainly be heading back again. Thank you Taste of Istanbul, you always have me leaving smiling.

Table of 10 And arrived for booking and they had no table This is actually the second time we have booked a large Table of 10 - 10 days earlier ! First time they booked us in a day early , had a phone Call asking where we are. We turned up on the right day and had good service and meal And was asked to leave a review . We did and all Good . So much so we booked again! Tonight we turned up for our table, And they told us we had no table and it was booked 2 Hours earlier . Yet another mess up on them ! So this is the 2nd time they have added the wrong time to the diary, even at the end of my phone call I always confirm the date and time . The lady gave no apologies, so that was Disappointing. So off to The Bombay where we enjoyed a lovely meal and they will now get out custom Think you need to get staff who are able to get the booking correct . Once ok! But twice in a row to mess up !!!!’

We have been to this restaurant several times. The service is good. The food is always very nice. We go mid week to avoid the crowds, but it is sometimes very busy, which says a lot about the quality. Baklava for dessert is a real treat. The coffee is also good.

We went as a family for my birthday. Booked well in advance and on arrival we were told to go away and come back in 20 minutes. We stood out in the cold and on going back we waited a further 20 minutes by the door. 6 of us, all adults were finally given a table crammed tightly into a corner that only seated 4 people at a squeeze. 15 minutes later not even a drinks order had been taken. Absolutely livid my husband insisted that we leave. Over an hour completely wasted.

We have just returned from a lovely evening with our friends. Great food and excellent service. Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning.

Visited tonight , group of 10 neighbours We go out every 2/3 months and always go for an Indian in Dereham. Tonight decided to go to The Istanbul as 6 of us hadn’t been before . What a fabulous night ! The staff were amazing 🤩 we were looked after all night and had a very nice meal. 10/10 from us all and we will definitely be coming back . Chef offered us a shot at the end of the night . Had a chat. It’s the little personal touch that makes a difference. See you soon !!!!!

Booked for lunch after my friend had heard rave reviews, and we were not disappointed. A small restaurant but very well laid out, clean and comfortable. The food we ordered was amazing. We both had the Yogurtlu Lamb Shish which came with 2 additional sauces, one chilli one yoghurt and mint, a big bowl of fresh salad and the lightest of Turkish bread. We were both amazed at how generous the portion of lamb was in the dish, it seemed endless, and so tender, served in a delicious tomato based sauce topped with creamy labneh. Would highly recommend this gem of a restaurant, and can’t wait to go back to try more dishes.

Just had a fabulous meal here, we shared the liver as a starter which was really yummy. Then shared the platter for 2/3 which was amazing, really well-cooked meat with great flavours, served with rice and bulgar, flatbread and dips. Really nice atmosphere and the restaurant was full by the time we left which no doubt reflects its popularity. We though it reasonable cost too, will definitely be back!

Went on a birthday party good food, excellent service and staff was very great made us feel welcome. I will definitely go again.

Our first time ordering tonight for a collection and we'll definitely be ordering again. We had the jumbo platter and all of the meat was perfectly cooked and delicious, particularly the lamb ribs as they were so meaty. The salads were lovely and fresh and the sumac added an extra level of flavour. The bread was really light and fluffy and the rice and bulgar wheat were cooked just right. The hot meze platter was delicious and according to my sons the calamari was the best they've ever had . Good value for money and friendly, quick service.

Been twice now, once with my mate and our boys and second time with my mum and family and both times been absolutely spot on! The foods favour from all aspects is on point from the hummus and home made flat breads to the abundant meats and home made baklava 👍 Usually I’m not a couscous lover but this is on another level and to wash it down with an ice cold pint of cobra tops it off. For a small market town this place is superb and well worth a visit. Excellent staff and spotless place with a great atmosphere 👍
