I have enjoyed a lot with my family. Even though with less collection, the dishes are yummy and the staffs are extremely good. They were takeout the plates and clearance on time, friendly approach and were refilled the buffet on time and wiped all the stations to make it tidy and clean. I liked the ambience of the restaurant aswell.

The food was extremely fresh and the staff was low but very polite! Many of the meals were still steaming hot and it is very low in people! Reccomend for a special time!

We had a lovely family meal celebrating my son's birthday. A good variety of food which was freshly cooked and delicious. They brought my son's birthday cake out to a birthday tune which was so sweet Highly recommended

Got turned away at 19:00 even though advertised as closing at 21:00. Ruined my fiancee's burthday and our evening. Very disappointed and won't be bothering again.

Never had a bad meal in The Taste. I remember it in many of it's previous guises and it's always been a perfectly good place to fill your stomach to overfull. As ever at buffet restaurants, the food on show can vary from hour to hour let alone day to day, but there's is always enough in the taste to guarantee a cracking meal. Oriental food, black bean sauces sweet and sours, curry, you wont be short of choice. A selection of rices, wraps, chips, etc, with duck, chicken, beef, etc, it's all there. The only slight downside is the desserts are nothing to write home about and quite disappointing when you need something a little sweet to cleanse the palate. But that's nitpicking, the mains are utterly delicious and very good value for money.

A huge selection of foods to choose from, all very well cooked and hot. A great dessert selection. Great value for money. The staff leave you alone unless they are needed. Always a great dining experience.

After a previous good visit we returned to celebrate a family birthday. Greated by the most arrogant boy who was rude, could not explain anything and when he finally said he could reserve in a hour if we returned we left. On return ((With two elderly relatives which don't walk well) we we told by another they couldn't seat us, and so I complained to the man behind the bar who shrugged and showed no interest in listening. How can the service and attitude change so much in 7 months!! Will not be returning.

food was good, had loads of options, only downside was the staff, they are rude, they talk and laugh about the customers when they are together and judge them, you walk in don’t even get a chance to sit down and look at anything and they are there trying to get what you want to drink, last time i went the waiter just stood at our table we was confused and he was saying i’m waiting for your drink order! apart from the staff making it unpleasant the food was nice and only recommend for the food!

I would not recommend it. Firstly the staff looked like they wanted to do anything except talk to or help the custmers, when arriving it says to wait to be seated. When asking if we could sit in a certain seat we got a grunt and a wave to sit there, no information about how it works, whether we pay first or if someone would be coming round to get oue drinks order.. Secondly, once all this was sorted we arrived at the buffet food to see a bunch of poorly labelled food products, unsure what any of it was let alone if there was anything vegetarian.. with caution took a few items each, returned to our tables to discover the food was below par, some even inedible.. One of the party was unable to eat anything due to how poor the quiality was. With this i took to the desk and asked quietly, with a smile, to speak with a manager. To be huffed at by staff being told they were not a manager but the manager on shift.. wheb i spoke to them about the quiality and that 2 people of the party did eat almost a plate so will pay for these but the third member did not eat and so we do not think fair to be charged for this person. The *manager* was rude, telling me that if my friend has had a surgery to make her stomach small then they will just charge her half price.... very presumptuous and not what i have said at all, i mentioned again that the food was below par and inedible therefore, no, she ate nothing she pays nothing. She was not happy but said fine, and mumbled to her self. Upon trying to pay thw manager grumbled and told her staff to deal with us because she is done. Very unprofessional. Since arriving home i have had extreme stomach ache and vomiting. I would suggest avoiding completely and spending your money elsewhere. Staff are rude and very unprofessional and the food is terrible.

I came in with my husband the other day and I must say food was hot the staff were friendly except one particular customer that ruined my experience, and other people's too. The woman came in storming into the restaurant shouting, nearly bumped into an elderly lady on the way. I was a few tables away from the bar and she started shouting, calling the bartender names and was absolutely shocking. I don't know how he remained so calm, and handled her perfectly. When she finally decided to stop shouting and leave it was very sweet that other customers came up to him and was asking if he was okay. Definitely better than Vesta! Shame on the customer!

We came on Thursday, when we arrived we were waved to a table by the young man at the door who didn’t seem very comfortable dealing with people, the process was not explained and no drink order taken. Had to wait around half an hour for someone to come back and take one but the soft drinks are refillable and the drinks menu is extensive with lots of choices for everyone. This place is the typical take out Chinese food, we were happy with the choices as it had all our favourites. The food was good but could have been hotter and the staff weren’t great at topping it up so some stuff was very dry even though it wasn’t very busy as it was very early evening but you get what you pay for and it was good food for the price. Service isn’t great and its pretty dirty, lots of dirty tables the staff are avoiding. Getting a drinks refill is hard as no one checks back, same with removing empty plates. If you ask for the bill your still waiting 40 minutes later so you end up going to the bar to pay. The toilets could do with a refurb and are down a really long corridor, they don’t look like they get cleaned much. But the worst part of the evening was watching how your bar man deals with customers. Watched him lay into some woman, calling her a liar and shouting in her face before storming off. I have no idea how she stayed so calm. He was so so rude to her and she didn’t even raise her voice to him which was pretty impressive. It really looked and sounded like he needed some anger management classes. It was very uncomfortable to watch, he was bang out of line with how he was speaking to her and it was very unprofessional. If I was him I’d be well embarrassed acting like that. It’s put us off coming again and next time I think we’ll give the new one near St.Marks a try instead. Tons of other places to eat that aren’t rude to their customers.

I don't get why it wasn't busier here. It's typical Chinese takeaway food what everyone knows and loves in an all you can eat setting. Staff were fine. Food hot and price was really decent. You'd struggle to get a burger and chips at Wetherspoons for what we paid today and we got a hot tasty choice with deserts and chocolate fountains......I'd come back again for sure.

Went here Today the staff were nice and food was really good as was a bit aprehensive at first as place was empty bar one guy in there , but food was hot and really nice only managed 2 plates but will deffo come back when visiting Lincoln

Went to the taste this lunch time I have been many times but the lady’s toilets was discussing do they ever get checked ? the 2 what was in use I could’nt use I know it’s the school hols but on both toilet seats poo all over them it was awful.. with more people being in these should be checked.. it was only about 1pm so had only been open about an hour so no excuse and when I told girl behind bar didn’t seem that bothered..

We were reluctantly shown where to sit. We were left to sit while 3 members of staff stood at the bar talking among themselves. We will not be returning.

Great Value, good selection of dishes: starters, mains and desserts. Chicken balls were best I’ve tasted! King prawns on skewers were delish! Brownies on dessert section also worth a try or three! Staff friendly and helpful. Would recommend.

Absolutely loved it here. Nice selection of food and nice restaurant. Would recommend anyone to go for a fill of lovely food and as much as you can eat.

Gone downhill bigtime, arrived at 7pm. Advertises at closing at 9pm and buffet stopping at 8.30pm so thought we’d have plenty of time to eat. Oh how wrong we were. Food was dried out, only thing they replenished were the chips. Pudding were barely crumbs. Anyway at 7.45pm one of the girls started handing out takeaway boxes for if any of the customers wanted to take home any food, we declined. Next thing we know they start taking away all the food and switching the lights off. Absolutely appalling. There were about another 4 tables of people so we took it as cue they wanted us out. Been going for year and had started going downhill a bit with poor service etc but this is the nail in the coffin, never ever will we set foot in the place again. Walked in at 7pm and were out the door by 8pm. Shocking

What happen to this place??? I haven’t been here for 3-4 years and I walked past and I thought it’s been a few years let’s get some lunch and this place has gotten bad. The food has no taste and looks like it’s been reheated and the service to get a drink was bad

Have been here before and food been ok. Back today and unfortunately the food was not up to standard cold chips looked like they had been re heated as soggy. Most of the dishes were cold. Never seen anyone with a probe checking the temperatures of the dishes. Good value but could get a very poorly tummy with food not even warm. Did mention this when paying but was told by the staff that buffet style when walking around choosing food does get cold. NO the food was cold to start with unfortunately won’t be rushing back anytime soon.

Food was nice a good selection was replace frequently customer service was fair a little over crowded with the tablets but overall it was satisfactory

My son and I paid a visit to the toast for the first time on a Tuesday evening at about 5:30 pm. Comparing with the photographs on TripAdvisor, the selection of dishes available has been greatly reduced. The dishes that were available were tasty with a good selection of meat content rather than cheap filler. the main issue with the food was that it was lukewarm at best and in some cases even cold. When you are talking about chicken, prawns and rice, this really doesn’t inspire confidence. The price was reasonable at £12 each and drinks are refillable however, I don’t think it’s somewhere that we will bother to visit again.

The restaurant was very quiet when we entered. We were asked what we wanted to drink before we’d even sat down without any knowledge of what was on offer. There was only a cocktail menu and a bottomless drink menu on the table anyway even though they offered a lot more. The food was lukewarm and not hot. The variety of food is very small and no where near as big as it used to be. The trays that the dishes are kept in are also very shallow so the dishes were often empty. The dishes tasted okay, very average and often too salty. The dessert selection was good. The customer service could be better at the restaurant. It often feels like a factory in which they wish to push through customers like a conveyer belt. Or they just stand around and chat when they could be taking empty plates away from tables. The restaurant was mostly clean.

Arrived at the restaurant at about ten to 8 in the evening. Was immediately told would be closing in approximately 50 minutes however was plenty of food still out so chose to sit and eat. Plenty of choice of food, was tasty, hot and plenty of flavour. Place was clean and tidy and the staff where extremely friendly and efficient.

Recently had an overnight stay in Lincoln on 17th December & was looking for somewhere to eat out. Booked a table here for four people. Was so glad we did. Big choice of dishes & all of good quality & flavour. The desserts were especially nice too. Staff very friendly & efficient from serving you to clearing the plates away. I did notice that as soon as a table was vacated, someone came & cleaned it all down including the chairs & floor so therefore adhering to covid guidelines. Thank you to all staff for making our visit safe & pleasurable. We will be sure to visit again soon.

Me and my sisters came for lunch, lovely staff very warm and welcoming. The food was lovely, will come again

Nipped in for late Lunch on 15/11/21,.We been here once before think 2019. However seated ourselves not busy but no problem. We ordered drinks the poor waiter looked fed up and my soft drink was either watered down or just flat. I am a foodie so I will say you pay for what you get sometimes. This was just a quick cheap lunch. The restaurant looked lovely, tables clean. I am going to be honest, food looked good, but once seated it was actually bordering on cold. I left most off it and tried something different still the same, so went for fruit not good pineapple was awful. No one asked if all was ok so paid and left. I went on to have a upset stomach. So maybe my fault for picking somewhere cheap, the temperature of the food should be checked more often. Sorry we had to score a 2, but Hubbie ended up the same. If the food had been hotter it be 3.5. for the price of a quick cheap lunch.

Got here early evening so very quiet.As such, several dishes were warm rather than hot - typical of buffets like this. Good selection on offer. All tasty. Some things sit better than others. Spring rolls had gone soggy in the middle. Liked the chow mein and chicken dishes particularly.Low msg usage as neither of us got a severe thirst.Attentive staff. Got busier after 7pm so dishes began to turn over.Good value

My wife and I made iur second visit to Taste on Monday of this week. Our first visit was the end of last month when we invited daughter, husband and two grandchildren to join us for a family meal. On that occasion I called in a few days before to book a table for six. On arrival we were greeted by Kirk who showed us to our table and took our drinks order. He also explained the buffet and invited us to begin our meal. Throughout the evening he was a delight. Attentive, but not overly, polite and helpful. The food on offer was exceptional. Cooked to perfection and fresh. We could fault nothing. The bill for the whole meal, 4 x adult, 2 x children, a bottle of Pinot Grigio, again superb, 1 pint of lager, 1 bottle of Tiger beer, 2 " never empty" soft drinks and 2 pots of tea came to a little over £60. I was so amazed I asked Kirk ( who I have now nicknamed "Captain", after James T of The Enterprise) to check it. The bill was correct and I was delighted. And so to this recent second visit. Everything was as good as our first time here. Meal for two plus a bottle of the Pinot and two pots of tea for my Lady, bill? £30. Value for money, cleanliness, quality and quantity of food and the outstanding service this small haven cannot be beaten. Once again massive thanks to The Captain and also on this occasion Christina, a charming hostess. Without a doubt this is our GO TO PLACE now we are living in the area.

Myself and my two sons visited The Taste on Monday after visiting the city. We were all very impressed with the restaurant, from the décor, atmosphere, friendliness of staff, great service and most of all the fresh, delicious food with plenty of choice including the starters, main courses, deserts and drinks. We will be definitely be visiting again very soon. Thank you to all the staff at The Taste for providing such great service. 10/10

Visited for the first time for an early evening meal as we were going to the cinema after. The food was hot, with a good choice. It was quiet at the time, with only one other couple and a single diner, so had a good choice of fresh food.Great friendly staff and a reasonable price for a decent quality meal. Would go again.

It's very quick and efficient food is lovely drinks are nice and Curk/Kurk was a really lovely member of staff. Overall 10/10 will definitely visit again!

There was a special offer on when we visited, which made it an absolute bargain. The range of food on offer was good, food seemed fresh and was hot. Service was swift and very friendly.

Lunch time visit On entry quick reaction from staff for a table and drinks order. Good selection for lunchtime buffet. Wish signs of names of food was in front rather than at the side and then matching them up . No real issues. There was also selection of cut up cakes but as they finished they were not replacing them around 2 pm. I would return as good value for money,

I've tried LOTS of buffets. This has been one of the best!! No booking. Clean, friendly. Attractive booths. Great drinks. Lots of traditional and healthy choices eg veg and fresh fruit. Lovely yummy cakes for dessert. Choc fountain.Already planning return. Offers on many days and times periodically. A pleasant lunchNo disappointments. All good. 5 star.And pay at end of meal, not before you eat which is rude.Do it right and your customers return.Thanks we will be back soon.

Never been here before. Great food, incredible value and fantastic service from Tai, Kristina and Amy. One of my 'pet' subjects is cleanlinless in restaurants. This place was spotlessly clean including the bathroom. Thoroughly recommended.

The waiting on staff are so helpful just write down what you want and they go fetch from the buffet. Tasty food and very plentiful . Spotlessly clean and covid rules applied... drinks reasonable. Clearly have new management and faultless.

Although buffets are not allowed during covid the management solved the problem by serving people a course at a time of all you can eat. it wasn't busy so was very pleasant. The waiter was brilliant. The price charged for an all you can eat meal was very reasonable.

Went last night for a meal with friends and the service was very good however the food was atrocious when mentioned we was told it’s due to closing soon yet that doesn’t happen any other restaurant shame really as this has now put me off returning it is especially bad that you can’t choose your own food now also as the menus hard to understand anyway

Food was pretty awful. Prawn crackers and Pepsi max came as an extra which was thoughtful but the crackers were stale and cold. I ordered the plain noodles which were ok but cold and there was more veg than noodles. I also ordered the duck hoisin dumplings which were pretty grim. Would not recommend , wish I hadn’t of ordered from here.

Crispy duck + pancakes: duck was very dry; majority of pancakes were cold — they’d obviously been heated in a microwave. Discovered a dark hair in the duck about 2” long. Disgusting. Delivery was v quick. May explain why the food/ service was substandard.

I recently ate dinner at The Taste with my family. We enjoyed the food, but the service was lacking. Our waitress was a short young girl with an accent that was extremely unprofessional. She serviced us with an attitude that made my family and I feel unwelcome. The waitress used a rude tone of voice, maybe because it was close to the end of her shift, but that is still no excuse for her to service us, or any customer for that matter so poorly. When she served us our food, she practically slammed the plates on the table and our drinks nearly spilled on us. Besides the awful service we noticed her fooling around and bothering the other staff.

Visited a couple of days ago with my friend. Loved the food. Atmosphere in the restaurant was great! Especially the staff, very lively and had a lovely chat with one of the young males with black hair. My friend absolutely loved it! Will definatley re-visit in the future.

I am absolutely mortified! I went in today with my family and i expected it to be the same as always nice and calm and friendly but we were shocked when some caucasian male with a tattoo on his arm was shouting across the restaurant about being hungover and i quote ‘had so many drunk horny girls last night’! this is absolutely disgusting. My children heard this!!!! Oh and not to mention his awful singing. please sort this out. we will not be coming again!

We went here today as regulars. We love this restaurant. However, our experience was ruined by a terrible staff member. He had black hair and was white. After the constant singing that he was doing and the shouting to his friends across the restaurant, we had to leave. I’ve never experienced somebody so rude to customers. Please The Taste Lincoln, let him go!

The taste is just on the edge of the town centre.All-you-can-eat buffet of Chinese, Malaysian, Thai and Japanese.A warm welcome on arrival - go up to the buffet and you were served by staff other side of the dishes.Roast duck and pancakes were amazing , but some of the chicken dishes were not so.plenty of choice and desserts as well.Still offering the discount on a Mon-weds after government promotion.Staff very attentive and polite. Very good value for money. ( did close at 8pm )Would call in again when in Lincoln.

Went on Wednesday night. The selection was very good and you could eat as much as you want, But was full after one visit to buffet. They were still offering there own deals and the two of us ate and had a drink for under £20.00

Took our son tonite for his birthday meal (it's his favorite restaurant) mentioned it was his birthday to a freind who works there (jamie) who went all out to make it an occasion for a happy 12 year old. He never imagined he would get a cake to himself. Staff are always super helpfull and cant recommend enough. Easily the best all you can eat Chinese in lincoln.

Music so good!!!!!! and played my fav songs!! Staff are brilliant and are so helpful!! some weird man shouted them about the music and they handled it so well. What an old hag :(

We have been going here every week (dinner time) before lockdown.We went last wednesday and had no problem went this wednesday and the woman on the door was not friendly at all asked if we had booked she was quite rude said you have to book(we did not book last week and it was more busy)she said because they were busy plenty of empty tables.Because of the rudeness of this woman it has put us off of going again

I came here a few too many times. Its not hard to tell in person. Would love if you brought back the old tempura squid that was on da menu. Also the buffet is cryin out for pork balls. Throw dem chicken ones in da bin, ok they alright but pork is better. Would fully rate it if you got a mr whippy machine to replace the soft serve ice cream. Would be well nice with the chocolate fountain init. Just so ya know Wontons and pancake rolls would go right in my basket along with some juicy duck spring rolls. Since when was pizza chinese btw Coming again on the 17th. Wont be hard to miss. See you then Other then that yous are sick. Great price. Dealing with covid well. Wp i must say.

Tasty piping hot food, good overall selection, very clean and tidy. Nice atmosphere and situated ideally in town. It has to be full marks. Much cheaper than YO YO's and there is always Duck on the menu.I would highly recommend a visit.Very COVID-19 cautious with name-taking, thermometer and plenty of sanitiser. Toilets refreshing and hygienic.Well Done Taste.

They always have Duck, Yo Yo's don't. Everything's always hot. Yo Yo's isn't. The Taste have better desserts than Yo Yo's. Plus it's about four times cheaper. If only they player better music or at least had the radio on. The music is dreadful. It's constantly the worst of the 80's. It would be nice to have some Oriental music in the background,it is an Oriental Buffet after all.

Staff was lovely pity about the food. Got 4 evening meals whilst visiting family, it cost 51.90, wish we had just got a takeaway. Firstly starters, plenty of choice, prawn toast flew off plate when I tried to cut it, everything was hard and tasteless. Then I got cold chicken curry tepid noodles n bits of other tepid food. Big shout out for the desert, got icecream and lots of sweets in it. They need to serve fresh and maybe they will get customers that return.

I’d heard that this place had improved, I stopped going as I had a pretty poor experience. However, i was pleasantly surprised this time, the food was hot and tasty and there was a good selection. It wasn’t busy at all. The waitress was lovely, friendly. I’d recommend

Bit of a family gathering to celebrate a 21st birthday. The taste is a great place for whatever occasion. The staff are amazing. And the food is excellent, especially when you consider the price. Big thank you to all the staff who kept our drinks topped up and the buffet filled. And for their patience with the 4th generation kids who were a bit excitable.

Me and my friend regularly come to the taste and the last two days we have tried to come it has been closed when we arrived, both times at about 7pm, it says that it closes at 10pm.Very disappointed, makes me not want to come back to be honest if they’re closing 3 hours earlier than they should be.

Popped here as wanted a quick lunch as it had just opened decided to give it a go, got seated quickly and drinks order taken swiftly, very good choice of food and relatively warm but I personally would have liked it hotter, I think a microwave would be a good idea but as been to a few buffet restaurants and never seen one I wonder if it’s not allowed for safety reasons , I would definitely return again if in town.

Only a few little niggles. Waiting staff are not very old and lack experience and communication skills, a little apprehensive in initially welcoming you in and seating you to your table. No one pointed out where the plates, bowels, knives, forks and spoons are. People don't have any idea where they are and have to search. A bit strange... Clue: They are under the food trolleys. They had run out of Pizza which wasn't replaced during our visit.There was a chocolate fountain that had leaked chocolate all round by sweets. It wasn't wiped up and didn't look great.All in all though, I would definitely still visit again simply because it's just a great cheap buffet and you can stuff yourself silly for £7.99 whereas if you go to a Chinese just a portion of duck is £6.20.In fairness all the food was tasty and hot. I didn't expect a Sushi. But everything that was there was TASTY. Still recommended, I wish THE TASTE all the best, look forward to binging in there again soon!

Not visited here for quite a while and was pleasantly surprised at how it had improved,arrived just after it had opened at 12 and there was a good selection of food to choose from,my only criticism would be that I wished the food was slightly hotter or that a microwave was about to heat it up ,I would return again if in the area

We arrived at The Taste at 4. 45 just to catch the lunch time buffet for£7.95 before it finished at 5 o'clock only to be told its finished.....

Went here after a day in Lincoln. Some family friends recommended it. £7.95 for the lunch menu seemed reasonable but that, unfortunately, is where the positives end. I thought the food was awful, cold, bland and tasteless. There is an element of look at the price you are paying and look at where your eating. With that in mind I don’t expect the food to be piping hot since it’s a buffet, but I don’t expect cold either. And I don’t expect the meats to be premium cuts but also not 95% fat. The desserts were marginally better, low quality shop bought, but again look at the price your paying so don’t expect much. They had a wider selection than I would have expected. If I had paid the evening price I would be seriously complaining. Service was acceptable, nothing to write home about and the place was certainly clean so no worries in the hygiene department.

Came here on a Sunday about 5.20 with my daughters.. was almost empty which worried me.. anyway we filled our plates and most things were a little dry as if it’s been sat there all day.. we sat down to eat then a woman filled up with all fresh food so slightly disappointed.. the puddings were fab tho so I made sure I had a few slices of various cheese cake and gateaux to make up for the uneaten main.. £12.50 each including refillable soft drinks so not too bad but not a patch on wings. Service was great though and the place was clean.. I’d suggest going earlier.

We went to the theatre in Lincoln and wanted to have something to eat we got lost on the one way system and went pass this restaurant more than a couple of time, but when we parked we thought it was meant to be.

Came after reading decent reviews well never again the food is dried up or over cooked the floors need cleaning and honestly it would better off closing THE TASTE that remains in your mouth and can’t get rid of- disgusting

I was a bit skeptical when I first walked into the restaurant. Personally, I don’t often visit self-service restaurant as I’ve had bad experience, in the past. I expected low quality food but surprisingly I did enjoy it. It wasn’t mind blowing food but it was good enough considering price was low. Me and my parents defiantly enjoyed it. The guy who took our drink order was really polite. I’m planning to come back again with my friends.

Food was freezing went here with my partner and two step sons and they couldn't even eat it we let them know and they brought out more stuff but was still cold and yet they still paid full price. If you wanna go anywhere for all you cna eat defo recommended yoyos

I popped my head in to The Taste at around 2pm for a quick meal on my break. Didnt have high expectations because buffets are hard to maintain the quality of over an extended period. The decor was... Interesting... But has its own bizarre charm. The food was interesting, some dishes were tasty such as the chicken in black bean sauce, however the majority were lukewarm or not very nice, lemon chicken was greasy and tough, chicken and sweetcorn soup had too much cornstarch in it and was disgustingly gloopy. It was worth a visit but doubt i will come again. (my waitress was lovely however and earned a tip)

Any takeaway in Lincoln could deliver a meal to your house that would look and taste better than this.

Great meal went at 5 so evening meal started therefore all hot and fresh and lots of choice. Very much enjoyed. Daughter ate free for her birthday . Def good value for money!

We went in this evening for my sons birthday.

Called on Friday evening around Six . Food was tasty but a little bit cool as previous reviews have stated. A great selection though. All Staff members where friendly and efficient. We went as a group of Four and we all said that we would dine there again when next in Lincoln. Very clean place also.

Visited 'in betweeen' time at around 3pm, all food containers were well top up and steam coming from the bain maries below gave us confidence the food would be good and hot.

First time back since poor hygiene rating issued. Much improved ambiance and the food was, for a change hot; in the past it was often lukewarm. Everything including the door to the toilets which was grubby, now looks clean and fresh.Will be going back as frequently as we used to do. Lets hope they keep up the new standards.

Awful. First visit here with children, looked nice from outside. Children charged adults prices due to height, fair enough dont mind if decent food but was awful. Got our food, we all had different items and Nothing was hot. Everything was either cold or only just slightly warm.We were the only customers in there when,so should have got the warning.Told staff food cold, told to wait 15mins for"new food". Had no choice as needed warm rice.New food came which only was rice&chips.; Rice was still nearly cold,handed plate to staff who felt it& agreed& headed back to kitchen. Other member of staff started turning food&stirring; it.The heat lamps are not enough to keep the food warm.also didnt tell us the £2.80 drinks included free refill so did not have any further"free" drinks either. More food then came, noodles& chicken balls,more customers started arriving. Put off our meal,didn't eat anything else,children had nothing apart from pudding,staff took plates which were full of the left cold food,told them couldn't eat it& were now put off,they said nothing,when went to pay bill i expected an apology& discount of some kind,only to be hit with full bill of over £51! I said wanted some discount due to all the problems,the lady replied it was ok as they'd brought more food out! I said we shouldn't have had cold food &shouldn;'t have had to complain or wait for new food, twice aswell,she continued to argue. I said I wanted manager as refused to pay the whole amount,she said manager not there&she; wasn't allowed to reduce the bill,told her she had no right to charge the full amount when knew there was a problem. She said manager would be there in 15 minutes&so; had to wait for him to sort it even though we were in a hurry. He arrived,we told him problems,he offered 30%discount on the food only so still ended up paying nearly £40,& gave a leaflet for 15% off next time during weekdays only that was OK! Well won't ever be going back there,never been to a buffet where food was cold. Oh and also the whole place was freezing cold,we had to sit in our coats! Awful.Rude staff,not enough done to put right.

New Year visit to Lincoln & after a fantastic day cycling around this beautiful city we fancied a Chinese meal.

Found this “all-you-can-eat” Chinese restaurant by chance on a visit to Lincoln. Decided to give it a try and was very pleased that I did. Food was great and staff very friendly.

Nothing was warm all food cold,sauce with sweet and sour was runny like water,to top all that i noticed they only have a 1 rating in food hygene,will not be returning.

The Taste is an Oriental buffet, much improved since the refurbishment, the decor is pleasant and the seating well placed. The buffet counter is placed to one side of the building and does not cause any conflict of users trying to go around the selections. We were welcomed on arrival and shown to a suitable table, and the staff were attentive and polite. There is a good variety of dishes, including starters, and a very good choice of desserts including a chocolate fountain which would be attractive to children. The restaurant was not over busy at the time of our visit and there was a continual throughput of customers.

We re-visited The Taste for my son's 21st Birthday having visited previously on a shopping trip to Lincoln. I like to go somewhere at least a couple of times to check for consistency before writing a review.

Nice food, good value, worth to try. Satay chicken is tasty and chicken ball is very crispy. Waitress is so warm and polite. Highly recommended.

Visited last Sunday with families . Warm and nice restaurant, many food choices. free refill soft drinks which is good value. High recommend, will be back again.

I can't get too excited about a Chinese buffet but it served it's purpose. The restaurant was very clean and tidy and the service was good the food was okay but could've been a little bit warmer. There was a good variety of food and staff were very friendly

En un viaje anterior a Lincoln, tuvimos un buffet de comida para llevar del Taste. Cuando llegamos a Lincoln el domingo, ése era el plan, pero en realidad funcionó mejor por el precio para sentarse. Teníamos una buena mesa. El personal fue muy atento. Nos trajeron bebidas a nuestra mesa muy rápidamente. Le pregunté al hombre que trabajaba allí sobre algo de la comida porque tengo alergias, y fue muy bueno respondiendo mis preguntas, lo que no sabía, iba a preguntar a otro miembro del personal que salió y me dijo qué Puedo tener y no puedo tener. Eso realmente me complació que se tomaron un tiempo, y aunque el hombre no sabía la respuesta, no se dio por vencido, sino que fue y recibió una aclaración. La comida era preciosa. Y fue bueno tener un postre con la comida. Fue una cena barata y disfrutamos nuestra comida. Antes de irnos a Londres, incluso regresamos para llevarnos a casa con nosotros. En ambas ocasiones el personal estuvo atento a mi hija y le dio un lolly pop. Cuando regresamos para llevar la comida para llevar, la señora nos recordó que era agradable. Volveremos la próxima vez que estemos en Lincoln.

Acabo de almorzar aquí el 22/10/18 y definitivamente volveremos, la comida era buena, pero fue el servicio de la joven rubia que obtuvo el 5/5, muy educada y eficiente con una actitud estupenda. El café bien valió la pena la espera gracias:). Mucha variedad para un menú a la hora del almuerzo que era todo caliente.

Fui a tomar un té entre semana con un amigo y encontré que la comida estaba fría y sosa, probé algo más y esto fue lo mismo. Le dije a la camarera que comenzó a discutir con mi amiga diciendo que teníamos que pagar como habíamos comido, a pesar de que la comida quedó en los platos. No tenía que pagar, ese era el problema, era lo grosera que era con mi amiga y el hecho de que dijo que si quieres comida caliente, debes venir cuando abramos a la hora del almuerzo, no por la noche, supongo que eso lo dice todo. ! ! !

Reasonable price for all you can eat. Not the best tasting Chinese but it is good. Evening menu from 5pm, everything’s freshly cooked. We waited ages for our drinks but it happens everywhere sometimes.

Con poco más de 15 para una cena del martes más un refresco, el valor no es el mejor que he encontrado en un restaurante buffet similar. Hay una gran variedad de opciones, sin embargo, la comida se mantiene particularmente caliente y muchas de las fuentes tenían piel en la parte superior. El sabor es mejorado por MSG y sal, pero es en gran parte suave. La próxima vez que esté en Lincoln intentaré en otro lugar

A very large range of Chinese all you can eat options. Many were very bland. Desserts disappointing and not clearly not made on site. Also long wait between ordering drinks and then arriving on our table. Not an establishment I would run back to.

Dropped in for a lunch time visit myself and 2 children 10 & 8, felt the selection was poor and what we had was not good quality. Many of the dishes were all sauce without alot of actual food and the meat I did find was very chewy or fatty (obviously cheapest they could get) Also a lot of it was only luke warm.

Very nice atmosphere unlike many all you can eat restaurants. Staff are very friendly and attentive.

Earlier today my sister and I visited the restaurant. From the moment we walked through the door, we felt very welcomed. A staff member was there to greet us and seat us at an appropriate table (the inner doorway was covered by strips of plastic screening therefore preventing flies ect from entering). We also noticed that the waitress asked the table behind us if their table was suitable due to sunlight on the window. We found that there was a good variety of food which was replenished regularly along with cutlery/crockery. The food counter was wiped down consistently keeping it clean and hygenic and our previous plates were taken from the table promptly. The soft drinks are offered as free refills and we did not have to ask once for them to be replaced as the waitress was attentive our table (they even remembered which drinks we had ordered). The staff did not hesitate to answer questions and you could see that they worked as a team to complete all tasks. They were apologetic when the atmosphere was slightly noisy, through no fault of their own, when it came to paying. They even enquired if we wanted the bill splitting into two parts, which seems to be a complication in other food places. We understand that it could have been one of their quieter times but overall we will definitely be going back as the food was delicious and they offer a loyalty card scheme along with their many discounts. :)

In reading previous reviews i was a bit dubious about trying, but pleased i did. 6 went this evening. Waitress was lovely and helpful friendliest service in a long time, couldnt ask more to refill drinks and take plates (some people say too quick to take plates, but it bugs me having dirty plates around, and plates available all the time for new ones) food was hot and alot of choice, alot more main meal choice in my opinion than another in the city. Deserts choice was ample, some hit some miss but i just had more of what i liked in that case. Was clean and tidy, tables being wiped and floors swept when needed. Give this place a try, tastes differ but you never know until tried!

Lunchtime buffet. Popped in for lunch as we were passing. Good variety of dishes available. Couldn't fault the dishes I tried. Free refills on soft drinks Perfect for this weather. 👍👍
