This bar is great for both Birthdays and Sports! I came here on the Carabao Cup Final day for lunch and it was a great experience other than the Tv had a bad view from the table right of the door! The toilets are very clean and sanitary, and our lunch was very large and filling. The food was delicious, especially dessert and I would come here again, behind Italian restaurants! Lovely.

When we arrived we got the last parking space, when we went into the pub it was empty? We were told to sit anywhere we wanted. The table was not stable at all. A waiter arrived, told us the soup and a chicken satay starter and the steak was sirloin. Another waiter arrived to take the drinks order, two people wanted a drink with blackcurrant, we were told there was no blackcurrant. She then came to take the food order, were were told there was no garlic mushrooms, no jalapeño starter and no satay starter. The steak was now rib eye. The starters arrived, the soup had rolls with it, they were so hard they couldn’t be eaten, the waitress was told, she said she would tell the chef. We weren’t offered a replacement! The haggis bonbons and whisky sauce were very tasty but might have been nice with a bit of salad? Fish and chips were a huge portion, fish was very fresh. Scampi no complaints. We waited more that 20 minutes to be asked it we would like a desert or coffee. Crumble was really good. Coffee was very strong. Creme brûlée would be better left with no flavouring.

We went for the special Valentine’s Day set menu. We had been for pub grub before and had enjoyed their fish and chips but this was a venture into fine dining for the pub. We both enjoyed it. I had the wine pairings which were very well matched. The starter of beetroot espuma was fine. A but blink and you would miss it but pleasant. It was the scallop and pig cheek course which surprised most. There are no words that make me grimace more than “cauliflower three ways”. I loathe the stuff with a passion. Yet this was delicious and I cleaned my plate. The beef main was melt in your mouth. My husband also enjoyed the vegetarian options. The dessert of Ruby chocolate ganache with a very fruity raspberry sorbet was a good balance of richness and freshness. The staff were lovely, attentive and couldn’t do enough for us, It was a super way to spend Valentine’s Day in a chilled atmosphere with a good playlist without the usual cheesy stuff.

This was easily one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. Valentines Dinner for two, 5 courses and not a single plate left with anything on it. Superb.

Went a walk along the canal from Broxburn to Winchburgh on Sunday, 11 February 2024. Stopped off at the Tally Ho for a spot of lunch to be told they were fully booked and the chef wasn't taking any more bookings even though there were tables free and an empty conservatory. We had a drink outside and in that space of time more people were being turned away. We then went and got a Domino's pizza and went back to have another drink noticing that tables were vacated and the ones that were left had finished their meals and having drinks so why could we have not got a table? The same thing happened last year when we did the same walked, went in for a bite to eat to be told the chef was off sick however we overheard someone telling someone else that he had got totally drunk the previous night so was off with a hangover!!

Brilliant! Had a fab night, lovely food, plates emptied!!! excellent service ! Will definitely be back!

We had a fantastic meal with friends at the Tally Ho. The food was excellent, service 5* and the atmosphere great. We would highly recommend the Steak Pie and the Fish and Chips! Ice cream sundaes are fantastic too.

Very friendly staff, all working very hard through a challenging time where they had to think fast when the rain flooded the marquee they had decorated for a halloween party. Good fun was had by all. Welcoming staff when we arrived, shown to our table. Food was very tasty. Well done to all the staff, especially to Aimee. Thank you 😊

Place has went downhill rapidly. Seems like no manager there, staff all hang around the bar area, most look like school kids. Service was slow, food was ok, but not worth the money. Place looked dirty, the gents toilets were stinking too. Loads of bin bags open in the car park. We won't be back.

The server behind the bar referred as Dan? Was incredibly rude this evening with a clear lack of interest in customer satisfaction. Overall atmosphere was rude and rushed throughout the evening and I can’t say i will return in a hurry for a meal or a drink . Other members of staff loitered around a bar till with tables requiring clearing . There did not appear to be a manager on shift as all staff did not look very experienced.

Visited for lunch with family but although the waitress was helpful the table, chairs & surroundings just looked a bit shabby. The menu is reasonable for pub food but has less choice than before & is now like elsewhere significantly up in price. The well kept appearance of past years is fading fast. The real disappointment was in the quality of food which on visits over the past two plus years had been quite good. The chicken burger was tasteless whilst the accompanying coleslaw was a no go area of sludge at the side of the plate. The meat burger was burnt to a degree that made it unbelievable for any self aware chef to have allowed it to have left the kitchen. This was returned & a new burger provided. The side salad provided for other meals looked well past the limp stage & just exemplified the lack of care & attention taken in the provision of the meal. Unfortunately we won't be returning as the experience & quality is much diminished from the past few years.

We just arrived in Scotland from the USA, picked up groceries and were referred by a local to head to Tally Ho for great pub grub! And the OVERWHELMING welcome we received was the best way to start our trip! Aimee was our server and once she knew this was our first Scottish meal, she did not disappoint! Great recommendations, food, friendliness, generosity, and even a free tasting! On day one I tried pretty much everything from haggis to neeps and treaties plus I tried IRN BRU ! The young ladies there went above and beyond anything I could have dreamed of and made our visit perfect! If only there was something other than American music playing!! 🤣

My son, myself and his dog had a long walk along the canal yesterday and popped into the Tally Ho for a bite to eat and a drink to find there was no chef so unable to provide food. We were very disappointed indeed. We sat outside to have a drink. There was a small bucket which was overspilling which was very unsightly then to top it all a large, heavy wheel was behind me and then all of a sudden it fell on me but luckily I didn't get injured. My son managed to move it and then a member of staff came out so I made here aware of what happened!

Visited today with family members for mums birthday lunch. Most unimpressed with menu really need to update your online site. Most had fish and chips which were decent enough portion although a few more chips could have gone down better, but still tasty. Sat with empty plates in front of us for 20mins. I know we were in over busy lunchtime. Eventually got desert menus. Not much too choose from. Young staff who did not seem to have much get and go, I appreciate they were busy but no-one came to ask if everything was ok or if we wanted any more drinks. Others have been before but my husband and I first time. Unfortunately don’t think there will be a 2nd visit.

Only bar I know of being on the outskirts of town, having the same level of family entertainment, service and fun. The bar knows it’s clientele and does it well!. Fantastic and safe bar/restaurant for the family

Visited Tally Ho for first time today for lunch. Had a very enjoyable lunch, very fresh food, Fish was cooked to perfection. Goid range of drinks at reasonable prices, staff very attentive. Would definitely visit again. Big bonus- dog friendly.

Popped in here as playing golf round the corner. Does excellent food and drinks here. Ordered the fish and chips and my friend ordered the scampi. Both were incredibly tasty. Waiting staff were also were very good. Can't recommend enough.

We popped along for drinks at lunchtime while on a canal boat trip. Lovely staff. I had the apricot and ginger meringue which was delicious. We really loved the 80s music that was playing! Hope to be back on our return trip up the canal.

Excellent Aperol Spritz and Espresso Martinis I must say and the service was friendly and very good from the barman. Also the price of the drinks was really reasonable compared to other places.

Very helpful and friendly staff, always there to help. Great for the kids as well as they have a slide and climbing frame outside as well. Food is good and you get a decent portion too.

Affordable and enjoyable bar food with plenty of choice on the menu. Try the cocktails they are fantastic. We would definitely go back. The staff were also very friendly and cared about the service they gave.
