The Taj Mahal in Wiltshire

Arrived early evening for a meal warm and friendly welcome. Food service was excellent and the food was delicious. Great prices too, we live in Bath and the restaurants there are too fancy and expensive would rather visit here for the more personal experience and great food.

We were recommended the restaurant by the staff at a local bar , the food was excellent. I had tandoori chicken starter , medium curry and a bit of ice cream to finish. The son of the owner came out to chat with us and made the visit complete. Would recommend the restaurant without question

Great meal and restaurant. Have been eating here (or from here) for years. Food always top quality, service friendly and attentive and dishes full of flavour. Can’t go wrong here.

Not sure why this does not come up when you type the name and town? But as we were passing through we stopped here for dinner. Only one complaint was with the samosas that could have been out of a bag frozen. They were small and did not appear home made. Everything else was great and delicious. Service was fast friendly and 5*

Stumbled across this en route to a pub. What a wonderful treat. Simple elegance in the dining room. Professional wait staff were helpful and friendly. We asked for suggestions and were rewarded with a dish called Roshni, a ginger, garlic and coriander dish (with chicken) of the chef’s own creation. OMG. The side dishes— naan, Aloo Gobi and curried vegetables — were tasty but the Roshni was incredible. You won’t find it anywhere else so explore and ask for advice. Too bad we live in Canada or we would keep coming back. Thank you.

I have been eating at this restaurant for 25 years and can honestly say I have never had anything short of excellent food and fantastic service. I called in with my son to collect a take away and the staff were attentive, friendly and welcoming, as usual. The food was excellent and great value. I have tried all the similar local restaurants and in my view this is the best.

Bought take away . Worst tikka masala in area tasteless and was like water . Have tried others in area bland , lack of spices . Awful

Staff, our server could not be less intrested Not smiley not friendly not even listening Ordering starters as “vegetable,vegan, vegetarian” option please then order the mains and he’s still asking us if we want chicken or lamb etc, so that’s a meh. The service was quick though, the food was tastey, the night was good just the service ruined it.

We arrived in town late and found Taj Mahal still open. The staff was very welcoming and the food was delicious. Highly recommend. I wish we were staying in Chippenham longer as we would enjoy eating here again. Probably one of the most delicious meals I’ve had in a long time. Ambience was lovely, service was great, what a find. We ordered a delivery for 6 people. Arrived hot and on time. Food was delicious and plentiful. Wide choice of different items and well priced too. A definite place to try for take away or eat it.

Even going to pick up a take out order, I feel I've been out for a special evening! We often alternate between take away food and sit down food. Wonderful staff with a brilliant sense of humour, so much the banter is worth the price, even before we eat!

Spent a lovely catch up evening with group of eight family. Mixture of vegetarian , vegan plus meat eaters. Everyone loved their meal , all were well presented. The restaurant and staff were lovely. Hope to return soon and try other recipes not yet tried. The weather was awful ,so the restaurant was quiet.

Have been going here for years and have never been disappointed with the food or service, both are always excellent. Always made to feel welcome and have never found a better Indian restaurant anywhere in the UK during our travels. My personal favourite is Chicken Dansak but have tried many others and not been disappointed by any of them.

Been going for over 20 years and can't find a better curry, so whenever I'm in town I always pop in for a bite, food is always amazing and tastes great, service always first class. It should also be noted that unlike another curry house in town, it doesn't boast its links with the tory party. Which for me is a plus plus. Check them out.

Turning up unannounced fairly late on a Saturday evening at this busy restaurant, we were quickly seated and offered menus and drinks. Prices were very reasonable, the food arrived incredibly quickly and was tasty and generous in portions. The waiter was attentive and very polite..a very positive experience.

Order in the bag email received at 19.48 with a delivery time of 20.35 quoted. Called the restaurant at 20.50 as no sign of my order, they claimed that they don't send the confirmation email and just eat are to blame not the restaurant. Order finally arrived at 21.25 with no apology of any kind. Really disappointed by this experience

I waited two and a half hours for delivery I chased after an hour and a half. I was told ten minutes. Half an hour later I could not get through. I have always had great food from here but this has truly spoilt my opinion of the restaurant. I appreciate takeaways take time but little apology and luke warm food when it arrived was the last straw.

It finally arrived 1 hour late and the so called freebies were 2 poppodomes and an extra nann bread this was not exceptable for our order that was an hour late. The food was nice but we didn't eat it all because it was far to late, I think they need to revise there customer service and treat their customers with a bit more respect.
