A great lunchtime meal at this well run pub. Tapas on the menu and what a great meal it was for the 6 of us here. A very acceptable price range and the ales were well kept and tasty also. We will be back for more thanks for a great meal... ✅😁..

Great little pub, we come a 30 mins drive away. As it's great for a pescatarian. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is menu could do with a change and we have been 3 times and would be nice to have some variety now.

I visited with a friend for lunch. It was a lovely sunny day so we sat in the garden. We were chatting so much we forgot to order our food. A member of staff came to let us know the kitchen was due to close soon. We made our order, the food arrived quickly and was delicious. It was super tasty and just the right amount. I’ll definitely be visiting again.

Really enjoyed the food here, the restaurant is on the smaller side but that doesn't take anything away from the experience. Really good tapas we have 7 or 8 dishes and cleaned them all the only slight negative we had was we had to go through the main bard to get upstairs and being a Saturday night it was packed and a bit of a struggle to get through, not a massive issue just worth knowing

Lovely food for a chilled out afternoon.

Came here yesterday with my family for my daughters birthday. Food was lovely staff where great. Only down side to it was .I asked if they could bring a birthday cake out for my daughter which I had bought and was told yes but it cost me £10 just to walk to the table never been charged before to bring cake out .After we add spent £300 in there on food and drink.

First time here and will definitely be back! Gorgeous tapas. Not cheap but worth the money. Friendly helpful staff. Highly recommend. Booking for a special occasion as we speak!

Great atmosphere and drinks. Nice cocktails. Proper village pub. The Tapas is superb, I can recommend the seafood options, a must eat. Lunchtime in sunshine washed down with a few Thatchers is just perfect....

No heating on! My feet were cold. Just went for a drink. Glad I wasn't having a meal !

Great place for the kids to let loose. Would highly recommend a gate from the seating area to the carpark to keep the children in. But otherwise always a great time when we go.

Had a great family get together. Pleasant comfortable surroundings.

Very good quality food. Sunday lunch for around £25 for 2 courses. Good quantity of meat given on the dish choices we had (salmon and turkey) with roasities, stuffing and yorkshire pudding. Only downside was that veg was £5 extra, which I would say was definitely required to make it a filling meal. Service was friendly, food was a bit slow to come out, but generally very nice overall.

Upstairs in the restaurant was lovely, staff were polite and friendly. The food was nice, the desserts were lovely and the Italian wine we shared was delicious. Very nearly a 5 star. Only drawback was the table was just a little dirty, the desserts took slightly too long and the candle holders were dirty too but still a lovely meal, experience and we will definitely return.

Awful place. Booked an early table 5.30pm for 5 people explaining my parents were very old with mobility issues and a well behaved miniature dachshund - told "Not a problem Awesome- look forward to seeing you". Arrived to packed pub told THEY had made a mistake and did not reserve tables in bar and dogs not allowed in restaurant. The embarrassed waiter seeing how my 94yr old father & 88 year old mother had struggled, kindly said, we could use the restaurant, however this was upstairs, even so my parents insisted they could manage the stairs and we eventually sat down in a virtually empty restaurant with only one other table being used. We settled down (dachshund in his bag under the table) given menus and happily chose our meals waited and waited....then our waiter appeared- told us we had to leave as his manager said we could not have a dog in restaurant. So TRICIA( the so called manager, who apparently wasnt there) I hope you are proud of your total lack of management skills which caused a lot of unnecessary pain, anguish and disappointment to two very old lovely people.

Lovely pub, very good food - but only when they are actually serving it. Web says they serve lunchtime food until 15.00. Arrived at 14.32 and "computer says no" courtesy of chef relaxing at the bar proclaiming a "thumbs-down" Caesar style, and the pleasant but powerless bar worker. Maybe the web is out of date, who knows. Didn't look like they'd served anyone anyway, though the menus were still out, so maybe just a cushtie day off. Doubt we'll go back - no matter how "good" this place is. One star for the drinks and crisps.

Great selection of food and drink, including cocktails. Cosy indoor seating and lots of garden seating, great for kids, can get noisy by the playground but there are two outdoor areas with one away from the play area.

What as this place become.... Pathetic noise,absolutely no consideration for the neighbourhood...needs to remember it's not or shouldn't be a rowdy town centre pub.. But full of plastic millionaires now....

This is an awesome pub in a beautiful part of Burbage..ot serves both excellent food in the bar or restaurant and equally just as good drinks and cocktails from the bar, with lovely service too!!

Our first visit Good news and bad news time Limited parking but side road parking is available Bitters on draught on our visit, TT Landlord, (excellent), and Wainwrights Busy. Excellent sign Excellent service So why only 3 stars? On their Pickled Mushroom Instagram page and downstairs in the bar area, specials are advertised as available. Example: Chicken and Mushroom Pasta, (check their Insta page) We were told after being seated in the upstairs restaurant, these were not available in the restaurant. Queried if these were 2 separate businesses. Assured they weren't Asked if we went downstairs, could we h have the specials advertised. Told we couldn't as kitchen was closing for service downstairs!?! After a discussion as to whether to stay or not, we ordered from the restaurant menu Food was excellent but wasn't what we wanted In short. If you like what's on offer downstairs, stay there If you go upstairs to the restaurant it all becomes unnecessarily complicated At no point was this explained during the booking process, on arrival downstairs, in the restaurant upstairs before we were seated or indeed on their Instagram page It's not rocket science and should be made clear there are two separate menu's I'd also point out it was really busy downstairs but we were one of only two tables booked into the upstairs restaurant during the time we were there Because of this and despite the food, service and beer choice being good, we wouldn't rush back Don't advertise what you're not prepared to deliver and make clear the menu distinctions at the point of booking Make of this what you will

Went for a special family lunch with eight adults and three young children and had the room upstairs. Lovley staff and nothing was too much trouble. The decor and ambience made it even more an enjoyable afternoon. The food was very good and well presented 👍😊

This place is great ,I'm not usually a burger fan but my god is was really tasty.The place is friendly, clean with a great atmosphere. Parking is difficult, as it is in any village centre,but we got somewhere without to much fuss.Worth it though !

Popped in for Lunch, great that we could take our dog. Have the pulled pork flatbread, it was more like a pizza! Delicious but have be hungry! Partner had burger looked and tasted amazing. Sorry didn't get photos but would highly recommend.

Decent pub. Good range of beers, some good ales and lots of decent gin. Food options are excellent, especially the sandwiches and roasts on Sunday. Staff are excellent, very helpful and friendly.

Nice menu. Food is the highlight if a little pricey. Could do another draught real ale and WiFi doesn't work. But all in all a very nice pub with two garden areas. Parking a bit limited and liable to busy weekend congestion.

An excellent Sunday Lunch menu, as well as a la carte, all at very fair prices. The dark chocolate and caramel cheesecake with raspberry coulis and summer fruits was a truly inspired taste combination. Add the wine list and excellent service, as well as being dog friendly and we have found our new favourite place for a family treat. We will happily drive 100 miles each way to visit again.

10/10 Absolutely Fantastic!! I went for a take out Saturday 27th for an evening meal, I had a Stilton cheese burger and it was amazing. 100% recommend! It was that good I went back and ordered seconds. Medium rare burger. Toasted bun. Fresh lettuce, tomatoes and gherkins. Sweet caramelised onions. Melted cheese. Chips salted to perfection. The meal was to die for. My compliments to the chef of the night! Great work guys!! Will be back for more

Well what can I say!?! Amazing restaurant quality food delivered to home.We had a New York chicken burger, blue cheese burger, continental meats flat bread, onion rings, cheesecake and waffles. Burgers came with chips, so much food, very generous portion sizes. Delivery was on time and contact free making us feel safe, food was amazing as it would be if we had dined in.We will definitely be ordering again, makes weekends in the confines of our own house more bearable during lockdown knowing local businesses like the sycamores can provide such a great service.5*

We tried to book a table for 6 of us over the phone a week prior and were told we couldn’t book and to just turn up. Not an issue. We arrived & they told us we’d have to sit outside and await a table, not great seeing as it was cold but again, fair enough. After an hour we asked again but there was still no table so we had a drink whilst we waited. One of our party then went to the toilet to see that they had just seated a group of 2 on the table for 6 people. It’s only because the member of our party spoke to the two girls and they swapped onto a smaller table that we actually got seated. The staff were then clearly annoyed that we had taken it upon ourselves to do their job that they didn’t seem capable of doing. I appreciate they are working in difficult times, implementing new measures but this is just incompetence. The waitress that served us was useless and I’m surprised she managed to get her shoes on the right feet. However, the food was very good but won’t return as absolutely crap service.

We felt really messed around when it came to organising a table, and when we finally got our table for 6 people they forgot 1 of our friend’s meal and didn’t apologise or accept any fault and expected us pay for the missed meal when she had to eat on her own. The customer service was pretty poor and as people that come here often we were very disappointed with the service. Hope it improves for next time
