The Bulls Head in Hinckley and Bosworth

We had a lovely family meal yesterday here yesterday, we pre booked the private dinning area. As there were a large group and we had several small children with us ( gave them space to move around ). The pub meal was all delicious and served hot, we pre ordered just over 20 meals the pub did everything as requested. They have a large gluten free menu, the staff are super helpful and friendly. Just want to say thanks for such a perfect afternoon 😊

Lovely service by staff Meal was delicious

Absolutely love this place, the food is excellent! The bar area is a really nice part of the pub, the snug a quieter area and the restaurant beautifully decorated with good spacing between tables. The service we received from Ed and his team, made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Toilets...... Clean and to a very high standard!!! All in all this will become a regular haunt of mine, can't wait to go back 😁

I came with my daughter for dinner. The food was delicious, and a good serving (neither of us left feeling hungry). My daughter is a vegetarian and lots to choose from. We’ll definitely be back soon with the rest of the family!

The Bullshead has changed hands in the last three weeks...l definitely could tell the difference since that last time l visited. Unfortunately, not what it once was with quality, quantity or value for your our well earned pennies. Some what disappointing. On a positive the bar service was brilliant!

Had a lovely Sunday lunch. Trio of meat was brilliant, especially the pork belly.

Sunday lunch - had much better it was dry not much flavour. Dessert had the bread and butter pudding it was soggy and cold. Service- was poor waiting staff had not customer service skill and referred to customers as you guy! Seemed more happy chatting and laughing to each other and the kitchen staff than serving customers it was that loud that we could hear everything. Not returning any time soon. Total lack of leadership and customer service.

Just back from the Bulls head Ratby. Sunday lunch disappointing. Service poor with waiting staff chatting to kitchen staff rather than looking after guests and referring to guests as you guys, we constantly had to almost shout hello to get their attention when we wanted to order more drinks. There was no atmosphere with the background music turned to high but it still failed to drown out the constant chatter coming from the staff. No customer service skills. No wonder the place was almost empty. Dessert, I had the bread and butter pudding it was cold and soggy with no orange flavour. Will not be rushing back .

Great Sunday lunch good value for money

First time I have been to the Bulls head in Ratby, we were pleasantly surprised, the pub itself looks very nice as you walk in, very well kept, the seating in food area is the same, although there is a bar area as well it was not big and and no where to sit to wait for our friends to turn up, as all the seats were taken we opted to sit at our reserved table. The food was spot on, myself and my wife had the chicken skewer with chunky chips, onion rings, and salad, and it was cooked to perfection, and both plates were left empty but I did have to eat the wives salad for her. If your ever in the area call in there you'll like it.

We had a lovely meal with friends last night at the Bulls Head Ratby. The pub is under new management and the pub was busy with support. Our meal was beautiful I wanted my eggs well done and they were perfect. Perfect atmosphere and perfect food. Lovely evening and wishing Ed the new owner every success.

Lovely village pub. Food is excellent and freshly cooked so expect a wait as its not a microwave job! Great atmosphere and eally nicely decorated Good seating area outside. Small car park.

Service was slow. We all finished our starters before children’s starters had even come out. Stuffing under cooked. Pudding had a chemical taste. Staff weren’t all that friendly. Atmosphere completely changed from previous visits and standard of food massively dropped. Won’t be returning.

Went for lunch with the family. Service slow, steaks overcooked, chicken skewers were dry. Not Impressed and won't be coming back.

Absolutely love the atmosphere it’s nice and cosy and nice to see friends here too. There’s also a tv show here including cooking shows that shows people how to cook different meals etc. as well as the sports and other relaxing shows I have seen here. It’s nice that it has an atmosphere that makes anyone feel comfortable. Also great vibes if there’s any easier work to be done as you can always relax with a Kindle (recommended by Georgina). I was pleasantly impressed with the service and a very good amount of salad served as sides which is important! Everyone is so kind including the bar staff who do a very decent job at getting everyone served and with correct amounts. Only improvement I would suggest would be speeding up the service by a few minutes. I do recommend this often to family and friends. Thanks again for another fantastic service and food quality today! You are all doing so well. I added a photo of my favourite meal here currently and I will definitely be bringing friends and family here again.

Nice pub, multiple flavours of pork scratchings. Always a win in my book. Don't get the American sharing platter - pretty flavourless.

My recent visit was not good. The steak & ale pie was over salted. It was hard to swallow by itself. I had to mush up some fried potatoes to dilute the pie filling. With this experience, the only satisfying part of the meal was the pint of beer.

Came here for lunch on a recommendation, didn't live up to expectation, must be under new management or something as the menu didn't tie up to what I'd been told (eg. I was told they did great pizza & halloumi fries but neither pizza nor halloumi fries were on the menu). Food was OK, but nothing special, the pie with a crumble topping was soft and colourless like it hadn't been cooked. Onion rings were soggy and oily - everything was just average. Nachos were overcooked, chicken tenders were more batter than chicken but did have a nice crunch - however ultimately I won't return.

Hi my name's John Harley we went there with me family after the Remembrance Day the food what's cold I couldn't believe how much the price should a beer is is in there and I don't think I'd be going back again

I started to worry when 15 minutes after arriving no one had bothered to ask us if we wanted a drink. We then went hunting for a wiatress who came over to our table with a face like a wet Wednesday. This person was rude and clearly hated her job. We then basically got ignored for the rest of the afternoon. Once we had eaten mains which took an hour to arrive our dirty plates were left on the table for over 20 minutes with no one asking us if we wanted dessert. Food was ok but small portions, Tea spoon on Mash, Gravy, Vegetables. This was part of a birthday weekend for a member of the group which ended up beig a massive mistake. Do not eat here!

Used to love this place. Defo gone down hill recently. Very expensive but the atmosphere does not justify the extra expense. Real shame.

We chose this place as it was convenient for the motorway. We couldn't have chosen better. During StormB it was a quiet haven of peace, warmth and good food.

Will not return here. We asked for 2 hot rock steaks. 29.00 each. They bring out steaks not telling us how much these steaks really are. They are just scammers. The meal cost us nearly 90 pound and it wasn’t even worth it. The steak is nothing to rave about and the portions of sauces are rediculous. They don’t offer you anything to protect yourself from the steaks ( like every other hot rock steak place we have visted) spitting grease all over your clothes. Please don’t waste your money here and go to gelsmoor much better service and steak.

Very poor. Sunday lunch. Veg was very undercooked I like a la dente but this was nearly raw. Teaspoon of mash. Chicken dry. Waitresses inexperienced and not attentive too busy drinking a cuppa! My drink after I had to ask sat on the bar for 15 mins fetched it myself. No lemon pie. It was only 12.40. 2 regular cokes a pint and a large wine £22. Won't be revisiting. Disappointing 😞

Very poor would not even give it 1 star. The service was extremely poor we had booked a table for 6 for 4.15pm but did not get our table until nearly 5pm - they said it was really busy but it really wasn’t. The Sunday lunch was the only menu available which was very limited, they had given us 5 different menus but did not tell us until we were ready to order that it was only the Sunday lunch one. 2 of us had starters which took sometime to arrive, the mains took even longer they had offered us extra sides but they brought the wrong ones. They got our drinks order wrong too. The food wasn’t too great either, the veg was luke warm & I only had a teaspoon of mashed potato. In my opinion they do not have enough staff who appeared inexperienced. We will never go here again

Food was AMAZING! I tried the cook your own steak and it was such a novelty, even as a medium to well done steak eater, the stone was hot enough to cook it to my liking! I would definitely recommend giving it a go at least once. People were really friendly and couldn't do enough for us - thanks! Atmosphere was OK. It was a Friday night and we were sat near the bar, so there were a few drunks around, but nothing too rowdy so it was all good.

Date night. Lovely pub with parking. Staff very helpful and cheerful. Food was amazing. My wife had the fish pie which she loved. Plenty of filling and piping hot. I chose the hot rock steak and OMG it was fab!! You have to try this. Very well prices too.

Service was excellent and food was really good quality. There has been a return in the pub and it looks really nice and comfortable.

We visited on a Saturday night as a belated birthday. Whilst service was initially slow, long wait for drinks.. the rest of the experience was really good. The food was wonderful with a great choice on the menu.. (hot rock steaks a must) and big portions! Staff seemed friendly and the man who I assume the manager seemed to know his stuff.. We had starters and mains. Starters offered big portions (although eggs could have been runny, and Brie was missing chutney but this was soon fixed).. Main courses were big plentiful dishes. All had good flavour and were of good quality. We left feeling full. Brilliant. We will definitely visit again.

Nice place but prices are too high Order consisted of, cheese bean jacket potatoes x 2, cheese jacket potatoe with coleslaw x 1 , child's pasta and meatballs x1, child's omelette and fries x1, bowl of chips, 6 soft drinks Bill came to £78.50 extortionate if you ask me Will not be going back

Yesterday me and my mum went for a photo shoot at Venture which is down the road from this pub. They recommend us go there for food as we where hungry. It has a car park & is also dog friendly. On arrival the bar attendant showed us to a table. The decor is very nice inside. The mood is ambient and relaxed. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had a garlic flatbread to shear for starter. It was very nice & not to filling. For main I had the gammon with Pineapple & fried egg with chips. It was on the specials menu. Omg it was the best gammon I've ever had. So tasty and juicy. My mum has a vegetarian sweet potatoe, Spinich and chickpea curry with rice & flatbread. She said it was nice but to many chickpeas for her liking. I ate the rest of her flatbread hehe! It was delicious. The couple next to us ordered a steak which you get to choose yourself & it comes on a wooden board with a hot Lava stone. You cook the steak yourself on the hot lava stone. It was awesome to watch. We didn't have a pudding as we where stuffed but it was such a lovely place to go for food in an area we dont know. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Food and drinks were extremely expensive, and the food was not good. Had a 2 person sharing platter. Portion sizes were tiny. Food was disappointing and ended up leaving most of the food. Loaded skins and chicken were bland and tasteless. Chips and onion rings just tasted like oil. I would not go back here for food again.

Servers were lovely and polite, but the food didn't match the descriptions on the menu, the wine had been open too long and tasted like vinegar, and the martini espresso came out a tap with foam instead of cream. Wouldn't mind too much but they charge Gastro Pub prices for chain pub food, personally I won't be going back

One of my favourite places to eat...until today!! New owners and new menu,staff were brilliant as always but new menu not good at all,Deb the waitress was lovely but not sure I will eat there again...if its not broke don't try fix it...think they may loose regular customers !!

A real treat. This place is a bit pricy but for a special treat it’s worth a visit. It’s clear that all meals are cooked from scratch which whilst this makes the wait a little longer also makes the meals delicious. The mixed fish platter was amazing, ham and eggs lovely although too much ham even for a big eater. The kids burger and chips is almost identical to the adult version but at half the price - order the kids one. Expect greatness but expect to pay for it.

Two lambs Sunday roast dinners ordered with a lime and lemonade and a sparkling water for £40. Great service, Lovely environment, well presented food and excellent tasting food. A first I know of a smoking/smoke free outdoor dinning area. Carnt wait to go again but in the evening next time hopfully to enjoy the outdoor wood burners on a chilly evening.

Booked a private room for staff celebration. Pre ordered food which was all excellent. Serving staff were pleasant and efficient, bar staff were mostly friendly, one lady was a bit sharp and un-smiley

The Bulls head is our local, it's been a while since we have eaten here but the food served was still has good as experienced a few years ago, would recommend you try.

What a wonderful experience we have been coming here off and on and I can honestly say I've not had a bad meal here and no sooner had we ordered our meals were on our way.

If I could give -5* I would. Even 1 star is too high for this place. We went for a family occasion in a party of 20. We had pre ordered the meals to make it easier. Upon arrival. They had missed out my meal. After everyone was served they said it would be 6 minutes if I would still like the Sirloin. I said sure no problem. 20 minutes later I had to go to the bar to get an update and I was told it'll be there in a few minutes. At this point everyone else was finishing their meals. I did not go out to eat on my own so I said I think I'll leave it as I don't really want to sit there eating on my own. I then walked back to the table. They then brought the food over to the table minutes later (while everyone is watching us) and said I'd still have to pay for it as it's now cooked. At this point I was so annoyed and didn't want to cause a scene I said whatever I don't care about the money. They said they can pack it for me to take it away. I then had to pay £28 for a sirloin which was 25 minutes late and cold in a take away box. I could not believe it! Would never go to any of these pubs ever again! Atrocious service from staff and management who lack any customer skills or understanding!

The food is very good here, good selection of meals and sweets. Large portions

After hearing good reports about their meals, i was very disappointed. Sunday lunch roast beef too soft and mushy. Couldn't even see a slice. Think i must have had all bits around the edge of a roast. yourshire pudding half burnt. Broccli, carrots almost raw. ( more than aldante!!) 2 small roast pots were nice. 3 friends on the table commented same for Veg and Yorkshire. Staff were very busy. However, they were attentive and friendly well done to them.

Lovely food . Can get very busy and may have to wait awhile to place order or receive food but for me it just adds to the night with friends. Car park is not big so may have to find alternative parking but still a place to enjoy.

Friendly atmosphere with great food and drinks at reasonable price. Nice lunchtime menu. Worth a visit..

Very comfortable. Unfortunately most of the serving staff did not appear to want to be at work, barely a smile to be seen, however we're quick to serve. Main course food was amazing, good value and beautifully cooked. The Bailey's cheesecake however ...did not taste of Baileys at all and the base was too hard to cut through in the bottom of the glass. This was mentioned to the serving staff but did not appear to be acknowledged. We would definitely go again just for the amazing main course. Hats off to the chef.

Nice quality food, a decent and well kept selection of ales with a non food area if you just want to sit and have a drink. More of an eatery than an out and out drinking pub but no worse for that as it is a relaxed atmosphere

We've visited the bulls head a lot in the past, one of those reasons were because they cater for gluten free being ceoliac it can be difficult to find. I went today with my brother for lunch and our children, went to order off the lunch menu which was sandwiches served with either soup or chips at 9.95 an expensive sandwich but i knew previously food was good ordered the gluten free alternative of the chicken and club sandwich, to be told they needed to check if they had gluten free bread, no, no gf bread, do I want something without bread no suggestions of what I could have ? Plus I wanted a sandwich as advertised 🤷‍♀️ you may call me fussy but imagine if you went into a pub ordered a sandwich and I they said sorry no bread, you would be a little frustrated, , I get that some days there may not be much call for the gf option so some places have a loaf frozen and offer toasted sandwich, i won't be visiting anytime soon.

Good food and plenty of it and brought home enough for another meal my friend can't eat a large meal and she had a kids and really enjoyed her meal there was 5 of us and we were all very happy and a lovely atmosphere .

Amazing evening meal the portions are out of this world girlfriend couldn’t eat all of hers service was wonderful and the food fresh and well cooked atmosphere was just right well done to all the team and keep up the amazing service and food well priced and if you thinking of going I would recommend

Sunday lunch is very busy, we had to wait 30 minutes for starters, and once they were cleared at least another 30 minutes before mains were brought out. Food was great though, plentiful and served hot. All homemade and great choices for everyone in our small group. They do limit the time you have your table for, so we didn't have time for dessert.

Pub was nice, staff polite and friendly. Food was ok but service was extremely slow and the pub was not busy at all. We waited a good 20 minutes for a sticky toffee pudding and 2 kids ice creams. We also had to go to the bar for the bill because nobody came back to us. Probably wouldn’t make a 2nd visit.

The Menu is very limited and not many vegetarian options. The Food was delicious though

We arrived a group of 4 with 3 dogs. Only a small space in the bar still available, but a lady from the bar came to the rescue, moved tables chairs and accommodated all our needs. Food was outstanding! Couldn’t have asked for anything else....

Food was poor quality and poor value. We were hoping to try the specials which were recommended however the pub was not cooking them because of the festive season. Staff mopped the floor with pungent cleaner whilst we were still sat at our table finishing our drinks after our meal.

We came here on a friend's recommendation but were sadly very disappointed. We waited about 45 minutes for our roast dinners. The lamb was tough and chewy to the point of being inedible. The pigs in blankets were undercooked, so again they were left. The Yorkshire puddings were burnt. The (two) roast potatoes were lovely.
