The Bulls Head in Hinckley and Bosworth

Francamente decepcionante como el pub premium de Ratby en el pueblo y cuánto ha declinado de ser la mejor tarifa. La verdura mixta ahora consiste en un cubo lleno de guisantes congelados, unas pocas Bruselass, repollo empapado y un frijol fino y eso está bien según el chef. Las papas asadas están congeladas, no están completamente cocidas y no son frescas, el queso de coliflor es una mezcla de paquetes, el bistec es masticable y solo huele a hacerlo barato con poco cuidado o pensamiento. Es una pena que solía ser caro, pero comida de alta calidad.

Este es un gran pub del pueblo; el personal del bar es muy amable, la elección de bebidas es extensa y son muy acogedores de cuatro amigos de piernas. Sin duda un lugar encantador para pasar un par de horas en la noche. Después de haber visitado para tomar unas bebidas un par de veces, y escuchar excelentes críticas sobre la comida, decidimos reservar una mesa un domingo por la tarde a mediados de diciembre. Desafortunadamente, la comida no era genial. Pedí un filete medio raro, que era muy masticable. La salsa de pimienta estaba claramente fuera de un paquete / frasco y bastante poco apetitoso. Mis trozos de patatas fritas estaban mal cocinados y harinosos. Mi ensalada de acompañamiento (extra £ 3 ) se sirvió en un tazón pequeño y consistía en un par de hojas de lechuga gema bebé y unas rodajas de pimienta. Otros en nuestra fiesta pidieron guarniciones (por ejemplo, cerdos en mantas) y todos se sorprendieron de las porciones muy pequeñas por el precio que pagamos. Mi esposo tenía pollo como plato principal, que era duro y masticable y mi hijo tenía una hamburguesa que era insípida, densa y también dura. Cuando llegamos al desierto, nos dieron el menú con una selección de 6 pudines, y luego nos dijeron que estaba todo agotado, excepto el helado de cuajada de limón. Quizás sea porque faltan pocas semanas para Navidad, pero fue decepcionante. Nada de la comida era lo suficientemente malo para quejarse, pero definitivamente no volveremos a comer aquí en cualquier momento tan pronto como las guarniciones son pequeñas y caras y simplemente no fue una comida agradable. Una verdadera lástima, ya que el pub en sí es encantador, y sin duda vale la pena visitar, de ahí mi crítica tiene 3 estrellas. No te molestes en comer aquí.

Fuimos con amigos todos tuvimos un menú festivo de dos platos... El entrante llegó empanado Brie era horrible pensar que había sido nuclear en el microondas sobre cocinado y rock duro sin sabor... El plato principal llegó era promedio, pero sabía como si hubiera sido cocinado el día anterior y calentado . . vergüenza realmente como el ambiente en el pub es muy agradable

Isla and Lauren looked after our group of 9 really well, taking our food and drinks orders promptly. Food portions very generous, tasty and arrived hot. Prices were very reasonable and the atmosphere in the pub was really nice and relaxed.

We enjoyed a great catch up with family, with a very attentive service with a friendly and welcoming attitude from all staff, Lauren & Isla looked after our table, we felt very looked after, they ensured we had everything we needed, can’t wait to visit again.

Had an amazing meal tonight at the bulls head! Got the triple oink which did not disappoint! Thank you so much to our servers who were attentive, friendly and professional- Lauren, Isla and especially Kian. Look forward to coming back! Thank you :)

Kian was attentive and polite. Food not great had steak which was cooked rare as requested but still quite tough. Blue cheese sauce not blue cheesy enough and not a pouring sauce, more a dipping sauce. Don’t think we will be returning

Lovely meal. Great atmosphere. Service was slightly slow and food was a while, however was a busy Friday night. Kian was a lovely waiter, and made it a very enjoyable experience.

Excellent quality food at very reasonable prices. My meal “Wexford chicken” felt more like a nice restaurant meal rather than normal pub grub. Nicely presented and very tasty. Nice decor , comfortable and friendly staff .

Estamos cerca de la zona y pensamos que visitaríamos para la noche "cita y bistec" ya que el pub había sido recientemente renovado. Reservamos para la tarde temprano, y me impresionó la nueva sensación fresca al lugar. Pedimos y esperamos 10 minutos por nuestra botella de vino... mi esposo eventualmente regresó al bar para traer esto. Luego vimos a un miembro del equipo teniendo su descanso y comiendo (no es un problema, obviamente) con lo que sí tuve un problema fue, se le unió otro miembro del personal y luego comenzó a discutir con un cliente con el que había hablado por teléfono. Su lenguaje al hablar de este cliente no era muy profesional teniendo en cuenta que había clientes a su alrededor! Dicho esto, la comida era muy agradable, aunque tuvimos que pedir que se limpiara la mesa antes de que saliera nuestra comida. Me encanta este lugar y más aún, desde la nueva propiedad ... solo un pequeño consejo al personal que comienza a ser grosero con los clientes - nunca se sabe quién está escuchando!

Visitado 5 veces en el último par de meses, que lo dice todo! El mejor almuerzo del domingo y el extenso menú de la noche, panes planos y halloumi rebozado eran excelentes. Personal muy acogedor y amable, servicio en cada lugar de visita. Genial tener a The Bulls Head de nuevo en forma, encantador local en el corazón de nuestro pueblo. Bien hecho a Ed y el equipo

Just had lunch there it's definitely worth a visit had off the light bites menu they are such big portions and the same with the puddings. Great service nothing to much trouble we will be back. Thank you great experience.

We dined with you on Saturday for a family birthday. There were 9 of us and our experience was wonderful. The service was outstanding, the food just utterly perfect and the whole lunch experience was enjoyed by all. Every single one of us commented on how amazing our meal was and all meals arrived to the table at the same time. Passing through on our way home, noticed 2 pubs with 4.6 on Google, this was one of them. Passed by this pub so went to Plough Inn. Customers were friendly, staff was nice. Ordered a pint of handpulled beer (Rev Green), as it was the only one on, flat as a pancake. Asked if they were serving food, as most on review said it as good, and was told maybe, but the chef hadn't arrived yet. Left, leaving most of beer and went to Bulls Head 200 yards away, Everard Tiger beer was great, meal excellent. I know where I would go.

On our journey back home from Norfolk, we spotted the Bulls Head inn and decided to pop in mid afternoon hoping that lunch was still being served and happily it was. The surroundings were very nice, staff were friendly and welcoming and the lunchtime menu was very reasonably priced with two main meals for £16. We both had the steak and stilton ciabatta with fries and dressed salad which was tasty and filling and very well presented. Would definitely call in again if we are in the area.

Yet another brilliant meal, honestly these guys can cook a Steak 👌 and service from Hannah was perfect as always.

We held a party for 65 people in the rear room, we had the court room area and as the weather was nice Ed even put the bouncy castle up on the top garden for us. Staff very accommodating and the food was fantastic. We had a great day/early evening. Thank you Ed and all the staff ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Lovely pub on the edge of the village with a great outdoor seating area. We ate off the lunchtime menu, amazing value at 2 for £16 and large portions. Food was delicious, staff were super friendly and couldn’t be more helpful. 100% recommend and will definitely return

Great menu, particularly for those needing gluten free, so much choice. Had main and dessert Sat outside at a time when not busy so can't really comment on atmosphere, staff v friendly.

What a wonderful experience we have been coming here off and on and I can honestly say I've not had a bad meal here and no sooner had we ordered our meals were on our way.We come here every year on our wedding anniversary and it never disappoints and they do great offers on the meals

The waitress who served us was so friendly and nothing was too much trouble for her. And then the food, we ordered 3 of the Sunday Roast Beef dinners and it was one of the best Sunday dinners out I have had in years. The portion size was really good and everything was cooked to perfection.the beef was so tasty and lean. The roast potatoes were gorgeous and the homemade Yorkshire puddings were amazing. We will definitely going back again and I can’t recommend this place enough

We booked a table at The Bulls Head on Friday with parents who live in the village. So glad we did because the place was packed. We've not seen in like this in a long time, so the new management is clearly doing something right - it reminded us of years gone by, when the Bull was a proper village pub. All the staff were friendly and welcoming, the food was really good, in big portions that nearly beat us, and the atmosphere was buzzing. Also, can we say a huge thank-you to the 'mystery' diners who decided to anonymously pay £50 of our bill. We have no idea who you are but what a lovely thing to do - we will pay it forward!

This was our third visit since the new management have taken over. Every time the food has been excellent with very generous portion sizes. The Sunday Lunch was no different, our next visit will be for the steak night... can't wait.

We came for meal between friends to have a catch up staff were friendly and attentive! We had a rose each which the wine was really nice and the food we couldn’t complain about! Great value for money and portions were big! Luckily they had take away tubs so we could take the food home! Will be returning and recommending

I have just returned home from celebrating my granddaughters 20th birthday here. We had booked Sunday lunch for 10 of us on the recommendation of my grandson and his partner. Wow, were I and my husband impressed. Probably an understatement! From start to finish the whole experience was first class. Friendly greeting, smiling attentive waiting staff, nothing was too much trouble. The food, first of all we had never seen portion sizes so generous, especially roast meat, and cooked to perfection. Dishes full of a variety of help yourself vegetables and jugs of extra gravy, plenty for all of us. I ordered cod and chips and got a whale! Crispy batter, lovely flaky fish, chips to die for. With a selection of starters and desserts, we were all extremely satisfied and happy, and Charlotte had a great birthday meal, they even put a candle in her dessert. For myself and hubby, we live in Loughborough, it was our first visit, it certainly will not be our last. Compliments to the chef, and all the lovely staff that made our visit a 10/10, thank you all.

Went in a large group and pre ordered, the staff need to be more aware of food allergies, my gluten free fish and chips was given to another person in our group without her even saying it was gluten free. If I hadn't of asked about the gluten free portion when she brought out the second plate of fish and chips out , she was oblivious to giving it to the wrong person. I got a replacement but it wasn't nice it was dry and seemed like it had been cooked quickly in very hot oil. Please in future for other customers with food allergies use some sort GF sticker on the plate or a GF flag

Been coming now for about 18 years and has always been excellent without ever having made a complaint. Staff and service are consistently great and Hannah is the most outstanding staff member - always very welcoming and accommodating. Highly recommended venue.

Jake was very pleasant and efficient. The only thing we could ask to be changed was the music was too loud . It made conversation difficult.

I asked a server how long our starter would be and was told you didn't order one our friends starter came but ours didn't we got our starter ten minutes after asking where it was the main course was OK lots of food but some of it was cold didn't have a pudding I would probably go back another time

Went here with family on Saturday - first visit. Friendly welcome, nice vibe and the food/drink is excellent. The Bullshead mixed grill is incredible and nearly beat me. Highly recommend.

Overall I really enjoyed the dining experience at this eatery. We visited for a Mother’s Day meal and understandably, the place was very busy. Despite this, the service was good and the food we ordered was delicious. My wife and daughter ordered a cocktail each and they too were very nice. My only gripe (and it’s a big one for me!)……”No apple sauce”!……don’t laugh, here me out….. My wife and I had previously visited here for “Sunday” lunch and I ordered Pork with crackling. When the food arrived, I was told they had run out of crackling, but if that wasn’t bad enough, I was told neither did they have any apple sauce! On this occasion I really fancied a change from the beef and enquired about the pork, crackling and apple sauce..but once bitten, twice shy and all that, so I asked the waitress if she could check with the kitchen before I placed my order. She came back and said, sorry, we don’t have any apple sauce!!! Come on guys, I ask you; what sort of restaurant doesn’t have a basic set of condiments to compliment each meat choice? Mustard for beef, mint for lamb, cranberry for turkey and yes, you’ve got the drift, APPLE SAUCE for pork. Please guys no silly excuses from a management reply telling me you had run out blah, blah blah….a decent head chef / kitchen should plan ahead and make sure they have everything required for a busy Sunday lunch, or indeed anytime of the week. VERY disappointed with that aspect of the menu, especially after being fobbed off with excuse previously….it’s not rocket science!

Not been for about 6 months, was disappointed the Rock Steaks where no longer on the menu, I went for the Black and Blue Steak Yakitori which was tasty but not very warm :-( service was great and the bar staff where amazing - will be back.

We had a lovely family meal yesterday here yesterday, we pre booked the private dinning area. As there were a large group and we had several small children with us ( gave them space to move around ). The pub meal was all delicious and served hot, we pre ordered just over 20 meals the pub did everything as requested. They have a large gluten free menu, the staff are super helpful and friendly. Just want to say thanks for such a perfect afternoon 😊

Have been going here for meals with family periodically for years (2/3+ times a year) can honestly say have never had a bad meal or been disappointed by service, definitely recommend it for a family meal out

I went with my deceased friend's family to mark would would have been her 60th birthday. I had a chicken ceacer salad which I was a little disappointed with. Only 2pieces of chicken, no tomato or cucumber and too much dressing. The pub was beautiful though and very clean.

Absolutely love this place, the food is excellent! The bar area is a really nice part of the pub, the snug a quieter area and the restaurant beautifully decorated with good spacing between tables. The service we received from Ed and his team, made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Toilets...... Clean and to a very high standard!!! All in all this will become a regular haunt of mine, can't wait to go back 😁

The Bullshead has changed hands in the last three weeks...l definitely could tell the difference since that last time l visited. Unfortunately, not what it once was with quality, quantity or value for your our well earned pennies. Some what disappointing. On a positive the bar service was brilliant!
