The Lancaster Arms in Hinckley and Bosworth

I’d like to thank the staff at the Lancaster arms that went above and beyond for my partners 40th birthday meal today. We hired out the private cabinet room for 11 of us, where Sharon & Grace looked after us for our duration of our meal. The Sunday roast was exceptional, Beautiful crispy fluffy roast potatoes and delicious gravy. The lovely staff all came in and sang Happy birthday to my partner with a lovely personalised birthday dessert board which was a lovely touch. This place is like home. The warmth, the food & the staff. Well done & thank you. Xx

We booked the private dining room for our friends' moving away party and it was absolutely perfect for what we needed. The service from Ben was brilliant - he was so attentive and nothing was too much to ask for. Highly recommend!!

Food was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. Even though it was a very busy time, our waitress, Esme, was super attentive, made us feel welcome and looked after and wore a lovely genuine smile throughout. (Another) lovely experience here!

Tasty food but it was not really warm enough. It was the Sunday platter meal and while our extra sides were hot all the meat on the board were not. Had we been asked how our meal was would have raised this. Also the restaurant itself was cold, people were sat it their coats to eat dinner!

The Lancaster Arms is a meeting spot for myself and a friend very lovely place plenty of outdoor seating undercover and private little hut areas . There is covered area joined to the main pub area for eating . I forgot to take pictures of this 🤦🏼‍♀️ so honestly go discover this lovely pub for yourself. We last went for the Christmas set menu . Great deal although we only had the two courses it was lovely .

The food was amazing, we had the 3 course Festive Menu and for the price it really was very nice! Only issue we had was the service and the location of our table. We were sat directly behind what i can only describe as a staff meeting, lots of staff congregating talking and gossiping. We could hear every word about other customers etc, some if it quite inappropriate, and I have no idea why this was done in the middle of the pub?! It was so strange. We were ignored at times, asked the waitress for a drink to which i could tell she wasn't listening. She went straight back to the staff meeting and no drink arrived, shock, had to ask someone else. We even commented that we don't mind staff chatting but it becames frustrating when it affects the overall service - we couldn't get attention to get the bill etc. Maybe it was because it was the last night of the festive menu and staff were a bit fed up!? But i have seen another review which says similar so should really be addressed by the venue as customers can hear every word! If we had been asked by staff how everything was i would have spoken to them but as soon as we grabbed someone to pay we were completely ignored. Luckily food was nice which saved the evening 🙌🏻

Faultless! A group of eight of us came for Sunday lunch and from start to finish everything was incredible. Amazing quality food, drinks and service! Nothing was too much trouble. Have had many Sunday lunches at the Lancaster and they really do not disappoint. Perfect for a cozy winter’s afternoon, I highly recommend The Lancaster Arms.

Fabulous Christmas meal, again! Just can't go wrong booking here. Excellent service and divine food. The only down side is there's a limit to how much I can eat in one seating! 😅 Look forward to eating here again.

So traveled up from Kent for some training and the hotel I’m staying is is definitely lacking , so I decided to explore my surroundings and found the Lancaster arms , greeted with a smile and good music , it just felt warm and homely . All in all food was great, service great and felt welcome even though I was dining on my own . Knowing the industry very well I encourage people to please make the good news just as spreadable as the bad , it makes a huge difference ! Thank you Lancaster arms , be proud …

We were a group of 14 out for our annual work Xmas meal. We were seated in the private function room which was beautifully decorated and well heated. The service at the table and the bar was very professional and the staff were very well mannered. Most of us had the festive menu with the majority having the 3 courses. We all agreed that this was probably the best Xmas meal we had been on as a group. The food was fresh, hot, served beautifully and a special mention to the chef, cooked absolutely perfectly 👌 we would definitely return.

This was my first ever visit after being gifted a voucher for our wedding present. The place is phenomenal!!! We were greeted as soon as we walked in with lovely friendly staff. Seated swiftly and asked for drinks. Then down to food !!! We had the Sunday platter... ALL YOU CAN EAT ROASTIES !!!! It didn't take long after ordering and yet again the staff even tho busy were a absolute delight.. even a bit of banter. The food speaks for itself .. amazing pieces of very generous portions of meat and veg. And always asked if you want your roasties topped up !!!! WILL BE BACK DEFINITELY AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!! A NEW FAVOURITE.

Group of 6 , hired out the log cabins lovely atmosphere and they provide you with a speaker for music.. Food was prompt and tasty , burger filling... all the waiters and waitress' were great ,, Grace the energy you bring is contagious and the shots even better ! Keep up the hard work , future tip be more Grace ! :)

Going for lunch in December can be a risk, but we needn’t have worried. A warm welcome and great food awaited us when we visited today. The whole experience was great and not rushed at all. The food and drink selection was broad and varied, and I was very impressed with my steak. They have a young team who were doing a fabulous job keeping everyone happy.

I came on Sunday with my family, Food was lovely. We had a lovely waitress named Esme and she could not of given us better service. I had the beef and it was lovely and tender. Will definitely be returning.

Christmas dinner for group event .Tasty and hot but Brussel Sprouts were rock hard. Christmas dinner event yet no stuffing (why not) and turkey was carved far to thick. Saving grace was the desserts, especially the lemon cheesecake , but very disappointingly no Xmas pudding or mince pies so not so Christmassy

We were attended to by Karen Millie Ben Elle and Esme all of whom paid attention to us to ensure that we had food and drinks in a timely fashion. A Sunday Carvery to Remember! I recently had the pleasure of enjoying a Sunday carvery with my family, and it was nothing short of spectacular. From start to finish, the experience was flawless. The food was absolutely incredible—possibly the best Sunday roast I’ve ever eaten. Every element was cooked to perfection, and the flavors were divine. The lamb, in particular, stood out as an absolute highlight. Tender, juicy, and full of flavor, I can’t recommend it highly enough. A special shoutout goes to Millie, whose service truly elevated our visit. She went above and beyond to ensure we were well taken care of, adding such a personal touch to the experience. Her warm, attentive manner made our meal all the more enjoyable. If you’re looking for an outstanding Sunday roast, look no further. Absolutely amazing food, topped off with tentative and accommodating service!! The food was absolutely delicious, good quality ingredients and a variety of choice. The service couldn't be faulted, Karen was so friendly and helpful throughout. Accommodating towards are two small children and ensuring we had everything we need. Even as far a getting our dessert to take out when the kids had finally had enough. A great dinner out thanks to Karen especially and the rest of the team.

Wow, this was my first pub meal where I could confidently choosegluten-freee dinner and pudding! And it wasn't boring jacket potato or ice cream!! There were many GF available options throughout, and they asked me if I was coeliac, so they knew to change their equipment to be safe! We sat outside (beautiful area) they put the heater on our area before our arrival to make sure it was warm, how lovely is that! I was super happy, and I absolutely demolished my food, and the creme brulee was amazing! I will be returning very soon!

We have hosted both of our engagement parties here and regularly come for the Sunday sharing boards. Lovely pub and staff are so accommodating! We had 22 guests and food was hot, timely and no mistakes at all despite being such a big order. Would definitely recommend to anyone. Also a special mention for Sharon who helped us organise the parties and was great.

Visited today as a family group of 8 for, what we all agreed was, the best Sunday lunch we’ve ever had! We’ll definitely be back. Highly recommended.

Esme and the team were great, the Sunday dinner was gorgeous, normally I’m a strictly Sunday dinner at home girl but wow this was amazing! Myself and my team of travel agent ladies spent a lovely evening at The Lancaster Arms tonight. The pub has been improved over the last few years by the current owners and it’s now a very welcoming, cosy pub with gorgeous outside seating areas. We had the fish pie, the handmade faggots and the special of Duck. The food was amazing, we all enjoyed each dish and the portions were generous. It was a Wednesday night so quiet but that made it feel all the more special as we had the best table and lots of attention from Millie our waitress who was lovely, she was so friendly, really enthusiastic about the food options and swapped ice cream for custard for our desserts. We would recommend The Lancaster Arms to anyone looking for a lovely meal out in lovely surroundings ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We recently visited the Lancaster Arms for their Sunday Lunch Sharing Board, and I cannot fault the food. It was delicious, hot, fresh, and served promptly. My husband and I left with full, satisfied bellies, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the food to anyone. However, our experience was let down by the unfortunate placement of our table. We were seated between the kitchen and the staff desk, which seemed to be a hub of constant activity. A steady stream of young waiters darted back and forth, and at times, 5 or 6 of them stood or sat chatting and drinking within arm’s reach of our table. The lively atmosphere made it hard to relax and fully enjoy what should have been a leisurely Sunday lunch. Had we been tucked into a quieter corner, I imagine it would have been an entirely different experience. The food was fantastic, but the seating arrangement really detracted from the overall enjoyment. If you visit, I’d recommend requesting a more tucked-away table to make the most of this otherwise wonderful venue.

I've been twice so far, once for Sunday roast, and once for an evening meal. Both times have been amazing experiences, inside the restaurant and using their delightful tiki huts ( I thoroughly recommend these for groups of 6 to dine or 8 to drink, they don't even charge for the use of them, just a deposit) The food is incredible, every mouthful was a delight, with good portions that leave with enough room to push yourself a dessert. Even in the tiki hut, which on a cold night is well heated and supplied with blankets the staff were attentive, coming out in coats to bring food and drinks, checking on us for comfort and meal checks. I thoroughly recommend and we were already planning our next return before leaving.

Esme was my waitress today and she was a star! she made sure everything was ok and kept us topped up on drinks. food was lovely 10/10 couldn’t recommend more! will be coming back next week for a sunday roast.

Visited as it was recommended by a friend. The bar is very cosy and relaxing. We ate in the restaurant where the food was delicious and a lovely friendly atmosphere. Our evening was made extra special by our waitress Karen. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and so friendly. We will definitely be back.

We visited the Lancaster to celebrate my Husband's and my Dad's birthdays. We had a really lovely meal. Generous portions and delicious. The Staff, Ben and Karen really looked after us. They even brought us out complimentary desserts with candles in them. We would definitely recommend the Lancaster to our friends

We have been here tonight as a group of 6. The starters and mains were lovely and filling as well. The service was quick. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated inside and out. Strangely, there was no one else inside the restaurant. Given how the food tasted we can’t understand why this was. I would highly recommend visiting this restaurant.

Got the sharing platter and most of the sides to go with it. Amazing food, good quality. Service was fantastic too, made the overall experience a perfect Sunday lunch out. Can’t recommend enough!

Absolutely amazing place, finally found somewhere that serves a amazing Sunday dinner, staff made us feel so welcome and nothing was to much trouble and did not feel like we was being a pain. What a lovely warm welcome and cosy atmosphere. Loved the fluffy rugs and gin selections. We had 2 courses, with cheese. Really delicious green vegetable Risotto which packed a punch with flavours. And a delicious creamy panacotta with fresh berries. Great service, easy to find and have duly noted the gin terrace and tikki booths for another visit.

Loved this pub it has a real cosy welcoming ambience and a great mix of tradition with the nod to king richard (artwork is fab) and modern layout. Loved the gin terrace and choice of gins. Hubby loved the choice of ales. Yummy vegetarian green veg risotto that packed a punch of flavours. Plus a tasty creamy berry pannacotta. Great atmosphere welcoming staff. Plus tikki pods outside next time might need one of them! X

The Lancaster Arms is a wonderful pub with fantastic food, space and staff. My brother recently (October 2024) hired the whole venue for his wedding and Sharon & Ian could not have been more helpful!! The food was amazing and catered a complex menu but was wonderfully received by all guests. The bar staff in the evening were great too. All in all a wonderful day, helped by the great staff running this lovely venue. Thank you Ian & Sharon!

1st visit to this lovely pub. Roast dinner looked amazing. Everything was very tasty. However it was all only luke warm. Which was disappointing.

Nope. Having a laugh. Staff friendly. Great with allergies. But the prices...just simply ridiculous. I get things have gone up. I understand that. But for a roast it's £23.95 for 2 thin slices of meat, 1 yorkshire, unlimited (reheated) roasties, unlimited cabbage & peas plus gravy. And then if you wanted 2 cauliflower cheese florets it was £5, 2 stuffing balls was £5 and an extra yorkshire for £2.95. Goodness me. No. Only because we were with friends did we stay. Head to Gelsmoor at Griffydam for £16.95 you get it all on your plate and it tastes phenomenal.

My husband and I went to The Lancaster Arms for a Sunday lunch. We both ordered the turkey. It came on a Sharing board with green veg, Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes and gravy. We also ordered some sides, red Leicester mash, honey roast carrots and cauliflower cheese, Everything was cooked beautifully and was so tasty, the roast potatoes were crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy inside and tasted so good we finished them quickly and were bought another portion included in the price! I would definitely recommend the red Leicester mash as an extra. The staff were fab too, we were served by Millie who was lovely and looked after us well. The pub had a lovely atmosphere and a great red wine selection. We will definitely be back!

Sharing platter was excellent. The beef was cooked to perfection, light and fluffy yorkshire pudding. Potatoes crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. All veg beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. Beautiful meal. Excellent service.

Sunday roast served as a sharing board. Neat gimmick, food was nice although stingy on the roast meat. Did what it said on a very overpriced tin. Doubtful we will return unfortunately.

This has to be one of the best Sunday roasts in Leicestershire! The service is fantastic and very attentive from all the staff and focused on giving the best service and experience possible. The food was amazing, nothing we could fault, the sharing board worked well with a couple of additional sides, but personal preference, the sharing board is more than enough. The restaurant itself has a great atmosphere and the patio area is great for a drink after dinner. This was our first time visiting for a number of years but we'll definitely be returning with friends and family.

Came here for a wedding reception (August 2024) and it was amazing. Lovely location, very friendly and helpful staff and food to die for 🤤 100% recommend for others to come here.

Just came out of hospital treatment..called in on the of chance about 2pm for my wife and myself for Sunday lunch outside space very nice..the food a different matter the meat you couldn't cut it impossible to eat it it was that tough,, roast potatoes must have been under a heat lamp for a long time as they were hard also inedible... complained they took the price of the meat of the bill unfortunately i am not well enough to argue .neadless.. to say disappointed is not a strong enough word BAZ

First visit to the Lancaster . nice place and surroundings . we ordered a sharing platter with beef and lamb, food came very quick which isn’t a good sign but nicely presented and looked great, we soon realised some of the items were more fresh than others. the beef was awful (a cheap cut) and certainly not sirloin as advertised on menu, blood rare but really tough and we couldn’t cut it, the lamb was a bit better but very tough also . roast potatoes were solid and possibly could’ve been a couple of days old .yorkshire puddings were not fresh, the carrots were nice though! and Staff were pleasant. I’m not sure if we were unlucky but it felt like we were served leftovers. very disappointing for the price.

WE had an amazing Sunday Sharing meal here last Sunday for my daughters 30th Birthday. We reserved the private dining area so that the little ones could run around safely and without bothering everyone else. It was a boiling day but the room was soooo cool inside. We are able to get there earlier to decorate and had plenty of space and tables for the cake and decorations. Karen was our server and made sure we understood how it all worked and answered any questions we had. She was in and out during the whole meal to make sure we had everything we needed. The bar was just outside the room so really easy to get to and purchase our drinks individually which helped with the bill at the end. The way they do their sharing menu meant that there was plenty of food to be had for everyone and was quite refreshing to be able to choose what and how much you wanted without making additional orders/charges. The food itself was delicious and everyone really enjoyed it. It felt like a massive feast. We asked if we could bring our own cake as it had be specially made and they were absolutely fine with it as we also bought our own knife and napkins for it. Karen even put a lighter in the room so we could use it for the candles. I would definitely return for a normal meal here as the gardens were so inviting. We are also booking for our next special birthday celebration as we were so impressed . So a big Thankyou to all the staff at the Lancaster Arms

We've been to the Lancaster several times and have wonderful food and service every time. I'd be surprised to find better food anywhere in the county. Great surroundings both inside and out and the service is excellent.

We booked a Tiki Hut for my mums 80th Birthday as a family treat. We had been looking to visit here for sometime and we were not disappointed . The hut was lovely and spacious with side curtains and also a heater which was super cosy. Food was absolutely delicious we had the full shebang with starters, main etc and drinks. Mum absolutely loved it. Staff we attentive and friendly. We travelled especially to try it and will definitely go back again! We look forward to it.

So very sorry but after eating brunch with friends 20/7/24 our grilled breakfast was very disappointing compared to our other visits. Our bacon was hit/ miss whereas crispy then undercooked which wasn't nice. Previously we have had 2 x bubble/ squeak delicious squares, we received a tiny one hidden away and all was overwhelmed by a large pot of beans. My husband agreed that our mushroom tasted ' odd' .I asked for a medium egg as opposed to 'sunny side up' and had to return but still not medium when refreshed. Tomatoes/ bread good, sausages were acceptable but didn't appear to be as good a quality as previously visited, feedback would be good as it could just be my taste buds... Chelsea was so lovely and friendly, Ian and Anya surpass themselves with providing top quality ingredients and food usually,and they are wonderful people who work so very hard to give the best service possible! A wedding was booked for 1pm in the gazebo area and we vacated to the lovely garden area at 12.45 , I would like to think Chef was under pressure due to this, even so, not our problem and didn't really enjoy our brunch, average and not WOW! Which we expect from the Lancaster given we spent over 100.00 for brunch, we expect more...so sorry Guys 😘😘😘

Don’t let the 4 star food put you off I only put that cause a I only got chips and cheese so can’t really give 5 stars until trying a main, saying that the chips were bang on and the beer garden so nice and the way they switch it around from summer to winter is one of kind, really worth going

My husband and I had our wedding reception here yesterday. To say it went beautifully is an understatement. My husband and I didn’t have to worry about anything and we all had compliments on the food being served. There was something for everyone! And kid friendly! Thank you to you and your staff! It’s was an amazing day! ❤️

We went on our friends' recommendation. We were shown to a table in a corner so dark (it was still light outside) that I had to use my phone light to even read the menu. Service was swift and three of us ordered starters. As there was only one set of cutlery per person, the server returned to the table, threw three extra lots of cutlery onto the middle of the table with "Help yourself". Our starters, we all had the prawn cocktail, was different and very good. My wife and I chose the beef strogonoff advertised as strips of fillet steak with mashed potato and asparagus. I asked if I could have rice, as is normal wit this dish, to be informed "we don't do rice", The food duly arrived and I was somewhat surprised at the small portions. The steak was tough and some of it inedible although we did manage to chomp our way through most of it. I have eaten this dish, and cooked it myself many times, and this was definitely not fillet steak. The accompanying asparagus consisted of one stalk cut in half! At £20 each, a real rip off. Having commented on the quality of the steak, we were offered one free sweet although two of us had suffered. By this stage, our friends were hugely embarrassed at our treatment and it was they who complained. The sweets were also accompanied by the throwing of the dessert spoons onto the middle of the table with thee usual "help yourself"
