The Red Lion in Hinckley and Bosworth

Great village pub, plenty of off road parking, safe and secure for cars and motorcycles. Good Guinness, even better Madri and amazing Cheese and Onion rolls made fresh and on the day! Maybe have to start visiting more often and hopefully Cheese and Ham or Cheese and pickle may make an appearance. All joking aside great pub, pleasant team and a nice sized garden for enjoying the sun and summer in. Looking forward to visiting again with friends.

Didn't eat on this visit, but will on next. Beer (Ale) was spot on. Would highly recommend for a pleasant trip. Also, Smoking area if needed is good

The red Lion is one of our local pubs, one that we are very fond of. The pub itself is very warm & welcoming. Whenever we go in we are always welcomed by a smiling face. The girls who work at the Lion always make an effort to ask how our day has been and always ask if there is anything else they can help us with. We were very apprehensive going back into the pub after lockdown but we feel very safe. The pub is clean & the girls are on top of making sure glasses & tables are taken care of as soon as other customer leave. The girls clearly have a love for zoflora as thats the first thing I smell when I walk in. Whenever out with friends this is the pub we always end up relaxing in as the atmosphere is great. Keep up the great work ladies during this hard time!

Visited on a Saturday evening. Staff were super welcoming and very friendly, the new system in place was explained well. We tried the delicious selection of cocktails they had on offer behind the bar and they were fab!! Been here a few times before and always have a great time so no doubt we will be back again. Thanks again for a great night ☺️

Always made to feel welcome, with great service, friendly faces and smiles all round. Staff have our safety at mind and make sure we all adhere to government guidelines, continuously sanitising surfaces etc. All of this has made me feel very comfortable, knowing I can enjoy my drink harmlessly and in a great atmosphere. Hats off to Charly and the team, would definitely recommend!!

Me & my partner were reccomended to go to the Red Lion by friends. We visited and we were really happy with both the service and the cleanliness the pub during these strange times. Staff were pleasant and it was nice to see them allowing dogs into the pub. Nice atmosphere & good prices for drinks. Will be visiting again soon!

Great pub. Had a party in their private function room. There was a lot of space and a private bar in the room. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was a good evening and pricing was also very good as well. There was some parking at the pub itself but you can park on the street close by if there is no space in the parking lot.

Such a friendly pub, lovely food, we had 2 jacket Potatoes Coleslaw and salad, Chicken Curry & Rice, really impressed !!

Not too busy, nice late opening times. Good all-rounder. A good selection of beers. Really chuffed that they had the excellent Timothy Taylor landlord on draught.

Another wonderful Burbage pub - what more is there to say? Feel very lucky to have such a wonderful selection, living locally within walking distance.

Disrespectful, rude, vile, arrogant staff and management. No wonder it’s the least popular pub in the village.

Had a party to attend in the village and needed a place to stay. £60 for a double ensuite room. It was clean and comfortable. We were able to come and go as we pleased. Good price and great location

Quality place good food and good beer

The Red Lion is something of a hidden gem in the local area. Great hosts and very welcoming they offer lunches Monday to Friday with a great menu and very reasonably priced. They also have a lovely garden at the rear with a marquee and function facilities that we can highly recommend...nothing is too much trouble for David & Sue the owners!

Decent choice of ales, but limited food.

Regular visitor to this pub and its many amazing facilities. Fabulous home cooked food and drinks selection served by professional and polite staff. We have also had a function held here recently the landlady and landlord couldn’t have done enough to make the evening special and run without a hitch. Our guests complimented us on the food and decoration of the extensive marquee. It was just magical. Couldn’t recommend this place enough wether it’s for lunch, a drink with friends or a function. There is nothing mediocre about the Red Lion.

Good selection of beverages both alcohol and alcohol free. Cosy and quaint in the heart of the village. Staff very compitent and polite. Nice for a peaceful night out to chat and catch up.

Friendly service and lovely food - we had cod, chips and peas and it was really tasty. Food freshly prepared and presented well. A nice pub - beware as they do not serve evening meals.

We had a family gathering (approx 30) in the Marquee @ The Red Lion yesterday, for a cracking Sunday Dinner. Topped off with scrumptious hot Apple Pie & Ice Cream & cheese board too.

Went for lunch which was very good , value for money. Sat in garden with friends. Had a lovely time.

Unfair to judge it in a bank holiday. Website said food Monday to Friday but not serving on a bank holiday. When the bar staff told us they neglected to offer the rolls on the bar. My OH being the Eagle eyed hungry person that he is noticed them. At £2 a pop they weren't worth it but we both had a hole to fill. However... BRILLIANT range of beers including my cider.. Old rosie. I'd be interested to see the food menu but unfortunately there wasn't one available to view

Lovely staff. Always a warm welcome

First time here the other week and had a lovely lunch time couple of hours in the sun. Basic menu that day, sandwiches, ciabattas and chips. Believe they have a more full menu at lunch times normally.

I'm not a huge fan of the cider that is sold on draught here and was about to leave however I found this outgoing, friendly and very professional member of staff to be so good at her job that she charmed me into staying. I believe she has an amazing career ahead of her in hospitality or anything else she chooses to pursue. Absolutely amazing service, best publican I have met for a long time. Thanks Jo.

Moving to the area in December and hoping to find a good local was a tall order.

Definitely a pub rather than an eats place. Home made lunches are served but don't expect an evening meal. Good range of hand-pulled real ales as well as the usual selection of larger/cider and gin is a speciality. Popular with both locals and visitors. Overall, a good pub.

This is fast becoming the must-do event, not only for Leics folk but from as far afield as Chester.

I go in here now and again for a pint with friends, but this time we decided to eat, so a couple of beers and a burger! Staff great, decent food, nice place!

Having had a very successful lunchtime party booking last year, our line dancing group thought we would go again in June. But, not to be, we would have liked to book a meal for 20 of us in the marquee again. However we were told if we wanted the marquee it would cost £75.00, before the cost of meals even though there wasn't room in the pub for us all to sit together. Needless to say we refused and tried to explain that we did it last year, why could we not do it again. We were told that costs would be incurred, heating etc (in June!?) Not very friendly and will not go again. Surprised they can turn away a 20 party lunch time mid week meal.

Popped in whilst visiting the area after a business meeting. Great pint served by friendly staff in a pub with a good atmosphere. The place has a great selection of Gins which on my next visit I will certainly get stuck into..!! Would certainly recommend the pub as it is also dog friendly...Thanks.

What a great refurbishment this pub has had. Feels really homely with its open fire and a very warm welcome from the bar staff. Ordered from the menu and had a great home cooked lunch. I had the lasagna and my husband had the curry both well presented and tasted great. Would recommend.

Attended a party in the function suite and was pleasantly surprised by the marquee which was tastefully decorated and having its own bar makes it an ideal venue! We enjoyed a couple of drinks in the main bar prior to the party and the staff were very welcoming and friendly! The pub has recently been refurbished to a very high standard and I would definitely recommend a visit!

Visited this pub for some lunch with friends and found the pub greatly improved, decor was fab, staff were very welcoming so I would disagree with below comments. The food was also lovely and of good prices. Would highly recommend

Returned to burbage for the night , not been here for a while. The place has been done out and looks good.always seems busy in there, only had one drink , all good...

We only stopped to have a bowl of soup but were very pleased with the experience. The landlady (we assume) was very friendly and had a great sense of humour. Nicely decorated, the main bar has plenty of small tables which could be used for dining, drinking or reading the range of papers on offer.

Booked a lunch time meal for 19 people from my line dancing group. We sat in a beautiful outdoor marquee. Although some of my party were late in arriving, the service and food was tremendous. Reasonable price and and very helpful for special diets.
