We have regularly been coming here for a lunchtime meal two or three times a year. What ever meal we have selected it has always been delicious and well presented. You also have the selection of real ale beers. On this occasion we wanted our Chinese guests of an example of traditional roast beef and Yorkshire puddings. They were very impressed and we all enjoyed the meal.

I'm not one for usually leaving bad reviews, i would prefer to leave positive comments but i feel i had to comment about this place. Driving back from a lovely day in clitheroe and spotted the signs for this place so called in for what we thought would be a lovely meal. How wrong were we! We should have turned around when we were met with the bad attitude of the owner, she acted like we were doing her a favour. We were sat upstairs in what i can only describe as a dark room that hadn't been decorated for years. We expected a menu of good home cooked food. There wasn't a lot of choice so i had the lasagne and the other 3 had pie. The lasagne tasted nothing better than a frozen meal you would buy from a supermarket. The least you would expect from a pub that claims to have won numerous awards (i don't know how!) is home cut chips but they were deep fried greasy frozen chips and the pies weren't much better. It is definitley overpriced for what they serve. We all agreed it was not a good experience and to anyone who hasn't been before...do yourself a favour and don't bother!

Thank you to Steve and Christine for sharing The Swan With Two Necks in Pendleton. People speak of their dream pub. This is mine. Full of character, charm and warmth, it epitomises all that a decent local should be. A village pub, so many are known on first name terms. New faces are also greeted with a friendly smile. The Swan With Two Necks is a breath of fresh air for Londoners like me. So few London pubs have landlords known to the community, which rips the heart out, in so many ways. Crowned East Lancashire pub of the year 2023, there's an impressive array of cask ale. It's a place where everything is done properly. The attention to detail is refreshing. The menu is full of the classics. Ham, egg and chips, handmade pies and on Sunday, always roast beef. Walk-ins are welcome but booking is advisable. This was my fourth visit. I hope to make that five by the end of 2024.

ALWAYS warm and cosy and FRIENDLY How bizarre to read that this little gem is unfriendly. We are fairly regular visitors and always felt very welcome. The food is amazing and that's the most important thing. The staff are relaxed and ensure the customers are comfortable and satisfied. Today 28th of December at lunch time we had a great meal , the pub was FULL of people enjoying superb food, its a very small ancient country pub. It completely captured the spirit of Christmas. We love it .

Visited this establishment several times recently and in my opinion the best pub in the ribble valley. Food is quintessentially British pub food, good quality at a great price, nothing fancy but good honest soul food! The pub has recently been voted CAMRAs East Lancashire pub of the year and for good reason. The real ale is the best you’ll find in the area. The landlord goes out his way to find new and interesting ales with several different options being available on each of my visits. The landlord has a unique charm and a dry sense of humour which may not be to everyone’s cup of tea but for me adds to the flavour of the pub! Well worth a visit and if you like real ale this is the place for you!

🚫🙅🏻♀️👎🏼 What an experience this place is. After a lovely stroll around Fair Snape Fell, which I highly recommend, we decided to stop for the obligatory post-stroll refreshment. We took the longer route home because we fancied one at The Swan With Two Necks in Pendleton. Having been there on my own with a friend before, I was keen to introduce the place to my husband, son, and mum, and it was well deserved after that walk. As is the custom after a long walk, Little Man started catching flies as soon as we got in the car, so I sent John into the pub to scout out seats before I disturbed him. John texted that he had found a free table, so happy days, in we go. As we sit down, the owner, Steve, approached and asked if we had reserved a table. We hadn't, we just popped in for a quick drink. He then told us that "we need to move then." A little taken aback by the lack of people skills, we got up, and my husband did say that he had thoroughly checked for a reserved sign, to be told that "We don't use reserved signs, just like we don't electrify the tables, and next time, check with the people in charge." He then told us to follow him to a table where we could sit, and he was still going at it like a dog with a bone all the way there. So, we turned around and said, no thank you, he was rude, and we had no intention of staying, to which he replied, "Right, off you go then!" What an utterly bizarre experience, it was like stepping through a portal where manners and people skills were no longer prerequisites for being a civil person. There are all these social media posts about 36 years in the business and about Lancashire pub of the year, and it's beyond comprehension that this same, rude, condescending, arrogant person is one of the same. I'd never suggest that anyone avoids a local business; it's not in my nature. However, if you do choose to go there, make sure you have a thick skin and you don't have any issues with being treated appallingly.

this is a little beauty of a pub ... sells a wide range of beers at reasonable prices (dortmunder pils ) and has quite a good menu. Normally go for an afternoon light bite but went for afternoon lunch. Cheese & Onion pie needs a little work on it and the beef & ale needs a proper beer in in such as Abbots but on the whole will not complain as it was hot and a lot of it ...the sticky toffee pudding was on another level though little bit of twaeking here and there and would be the best pub in the area by far .8/10

The Swan With Two Necks is picture perfect, in a really pretty Lancashire village. The food is excellent , we have never been disappointed and the portions are generous. The cheese and onion pie is the best I've ever had, and the peppered steak pie my husband had was in his words "absolutely the very best " Chatty friendly helpful staff, and a cosy fire. Today every table had an Easter Bunny on it, and the dining room ceiling had hundreds of small Easter eggs hanging from twigs, so pretty. Just had are first meal out since lockdown and had a fantastic meal, The Swan with two Necks in Pendleton Village could not have been better. They have everything in place for the COVID-19, plenty of room all around the pub, inside and outside. I booked at the beginning of the week for a 17:30 table for a early dinner. When we arrived there were plenty of drinkers enjoying the lovely sunshine in front of the pub and in the beer garden at the back.A young waitress showed us to our table inside and gave us plenty of time to look over the menu, I had the Starter of Bury Black Pudding, fried egg, and bacon crumb and the from the special board I had the Grilled fillet of Plaice with chips and vegetables and my wife had the lovely Cajun Salmon, Cherry Tomatoes with Samphire. Both dishes were cooked to perfection, very tasty and excellent service, a few pints of Larger and a nice bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. Amazing venue, wonderful scenery and fantastic food - and proper ales!We had starters and mains; a great menu and also excellent selection of specials. Had Morecambe bay potted shrimps and a black pudding starter. The shrimps were fresh and served with warm toast and a salad. Black pudding well done and again with a salad. Solid portion size.Mains were great: a steak & ale pie with homecut chips & mushy peas and a beef Sunday roast with all the trimmings. The beef in both the pie and the Sunday roast were great; tea flavour in them and cooked really well. The Yorkshire with the roast was excellent as were all the trimmings. I brought a party of 30 people yesterday and it was first class. The service from such courteous staff was amazing and the food was delicious. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. As the walk representative of our walking club I have organized lots of meals at various places and The Swan With Two Necks far exceeds any of them. Well done to Steve and his staff.

We ate here on my husbands birthday ,lovely friendly pub with terrific food , will certainly be back but will have the ‘smaller’ fish pie next time as the regular would feed a family of four 😀

As far as I have experienced the beer here is world class, no holds barred, I don't care where else you look. The food is excellent, fresh, Lancashire sourced, top quality and consistently and reliably wholesome. When the waitress says "the plates are hot" that is because they are hot. A small portion is about what a mature adult needs to eat, the normal portion would probably feed a family of four at home. The bar staff and waitresses are amazing and will do anything they can to make your visit welcoming. But... the landlord has a particular sense of humour which you either get or you don't, take it or leave it (I get it). The landlady seems to upset lots of people, so far I haven't had the pleasure.

Pleasant homely feel to the pub! Excellent choice of good wholesome foods and a specials board. Brilliant Gin menu and brilliant Real Ale beers! Steve knows how to look after his beer as Camra members are aware!

This place never fails us. Good food, amazing beer and a warm welcome the moment you step inside. This is a very popular place, but it is tiny inside. Booking in advance is essential, this is no ordinary pub where an empty table mean 'take a seat'. An empty table just means the people who have booked it aren't here yet. The staff are wonderful and helpful and attentive. We will be back, guaranteed!

On entering the pub we was told were to sit by the lady who seemed to be running the pub , and shown into the small room at the back of the bar , this is not a nice room. My son is 6ft3 and the tables are low so he was very uncomfortable. For starters we had the garlic prawns advertised as with a crusty roll , what a let down the roll was one of those tiny part baked ones and the prawns were just cheap ones in a pot of what can only be described as melted garlic butter. For our mains I ordered the cheese pie he had the salmon , the salmon was OK although a tad expensive for what it was. The cheese pie was horrendous , salty and greasy and for presentation I'd give it 2/10.

My friend had just had a new knee and I was taking her for lunch, as we entered there were 3 empty tables so we chose one where she could get her leg and crutches in. When this lady appeared Have You Booked? No, is that a problem? You can only sit and pointed to a table near fire. We squashed in, and I went to bar ordered drinks and food, Cheese and Onion Pie £12.00 not the cheapest but....the lady is so rude not just to us but everyone. The food was average, lime and soda and slim tonic 27.10! Sweets are 5.00 each. Everything on special board they did not have but only said when you asked for it, three people were late and before they sat down she wanted their Order as food finishes at 1.45! I have never experienced anything like it before...will I go back NO!!!!!

Visited on a busy Saturday night. We did have a booking luckily. Great selection of real ales. Cold evening so great to sit by a lovely open fire. The food was fantastic, great choices, huge portions and all cooked to perfection. This pub had been recommended to us and we will definitely be back!

We have been going to this pub for a number of years now you never have a problem with food or beer but you will never fit in with the locals Nigel Evens MP is the exception always a smile and greeting which can not be said for the owners the last straw was to try and have a drink around 10--30 pm no was the answer only the owners and one bar lady was there who was put in a very difficult position by them SO we will not be back best of luck to the staff ps the son who is the chef FIRST CLASS

Came here today within a family of five which we had previously booked as we had heard that it gets very busy. We were given a table next to to the bar( and the ladies loos) so I was a bit concerned, especially as we felt a bit squashed on a small table.

Very impressive beer in this classic village pub. Good value food is rustic but tasty, yet we were very squashed on quite a small table. Will return!

Homely, old school, these are all good descriptions of this family run pub and for those reasons it does have a certain charm. It has won numerous CAMRA awards for its beer and even for someone who doesn't like beer, I tried my dads and it was good. Looked amazing and tasted very smooth. On the food front, the cooking is very traditional and the vegetables and dauphinoise potatoes were all excellently cooked. Surprisingly the steak was cooked as I asked but normally unless it is a well renowned steak restaurant I usually go one under to be sure so feel safe to order exactly what you want, although for me the fillet on the specials board was still way too chewy. The lamb chops on the other hand were overcooked for my liking. The 2 specials starters we had of chili and garlic prawns and goats cheese with parma ham were both good and the once again traditional puddings were reasonable, the berry cheesecake trumping the jam roly poly which was a little dry. In terms of the pub itself, if you like somewhere very quiet and almost like you're sat in your own living room, this pub should be for you, if you want something a bit livelier with more atmosphere then maybe look elsewhere but a nice local feel and a must for beer drinkers

Fairly quiet Tuesday evening. Excellent food and generous portions. Pub was not too busy and thankfully devoid of someone else's choice of music. We were made to feel very welcome. There was a pleasant informal atmosphere and a range of real ales. There is no doubt that we will return.

This place is like stepping back in time to a day when pubs were full and you had to push through the crowds to get to the bar. Wholesome, fresh, cooked on the premises, delicious food. Served piping hot, on hot plates by staff who care about what they are serving and who they are serving to. No surprise that this place is a CAMRA winner, every hand pulled beer is uniquely excellent. First time here and we will be back!

Lovely place with stunning views and hosted by Jonathan and Fran who are the most welcoming people. Bed and breakfast for one night only but we felt like we were visiting close family. We would highly recommend a stay here.

We sometimes visit Clitheroe midweek during the day. A pub crawl is the usual way to go, but this time, after the first pint we decided to have another. We stayed for six and on heading to the bus stop, we had only been to one pub. Why did we stay all afternoon? It was the friendliness of not just the staff, but the other customers all offering interesting content to a rolling discussion ranging from the beers to where each of us lived / grew up etc .... The barmaid (it was her first day) pulled a great pint too. In my experience of both pubs and people, this is rare. I nearly forgot to mention the prices. Cheaper than most places and two of the beers offered at just £3 a pint.
