Visited the swan Alvechurch with family. The place was filthy and very unwelcoming. Had a pint of HPA which didn’t taste right, when I questioned the bar staff about this I was met with hostility. The beer used to be really good. Overall the atmosphere was not good. Never to return. Spend your money elsewhere

We have always drove passed this pub on the way home, today we stopped and went in to find an old pub with new owners. It felt very welcoming, we had a drink and checked out the back garden. I was really quite nice, I would say when the weather improves this garden is amazing and there's even a garden at the top where the kids can play football or whatever. We will be going back. Wishing the new owners all the luck!!

Attend this pub recently and found the service to be non existent. While waiting at the bar to order no alcoholic drinks we were told by the bar maid we could not be served even tho other people, locals were being served and after 23:30, all while the landlord is sat down drinking a pint of beer. The landlord was rude, un professional, and would recommend attending school for manners and people skills. This is not a family oriented place, nor are outside people welcome in the pub. The landlord made us feel very unwanted and hide behind the barmaid which shows just what kind of person is in charge of the pub, one very rude little man, I can only guess he suffers with little man syndrome. After leaving and going back to the car we noticed through the pub window more locals were being served, at this point it was way after 11:30, clearly breaking his licence rules. Again shows what kind of person is in charge of this pub. I would avoid this pub at all costs unless you are a local. Very disappointing to receive such poor service in front of my friends AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!! Apparently I was intoxicated via the comment below using CCTV images, think someone needs glasses or new CCTV, as I can not drink for medical reasons. My friends were not drinking due to being on call or they were driving. Think someone is telling fibs!! Especially when most of us were driving and

Landlord is very unprofessional!! We went in 10 mins before last orders and was told by the bar maid that we wasn’t allowed to be served by the landlord who was happily drinking a pint of beer behind us Who give her the nod (apparently) We had just been for a meal down Rd and was enjoying my mates 40th birthday it was very low key. We went into the swan in alvechurch The landlord Made us feel very unwanted And hiding behind his barmaid makes you realise what kind of man he really is . Why he couldn’t tell us 10 mins before last orders why we couldn’t be served I don’t know ??? Although looking through the window afterwards a man was been served, this really got my back up Hence what I am leaving a review. You would be better going to the red lion which were more accommodating and polite I would not advise going into the swan alvechurch if your not a local as obviously they don’t welcome new people. Shocking in this day and age we have a pub like this in the world !!!

Went here after an evening local walk. On entry staff were not very welcoming but after my group had settled at a table, the manager/owner came and chatted to us. I had a most deliciously served Butty Bach on draft, which I would highly recommend! I would have given 4 stars but when we asked for the bill, we weren't asked if we wanted to pay separately, rather, all our drinks were clumped together, and we weren't then offered separate, so one person had to pay and we couldn't settle up as we didn't have any cash.

My first time here, and my first time at any pub in a verrrrrrrrrry long time (thanks to Covid!). It was very well organised in terms of keeping people as safe as possible in the current pandemic. Orders could be made via an App which you're invited to download as you enter the premises. The app worked brilliantly, and I enjoyed a very tasty half pint of Buttybach. The service wasn't fast, but that's because the pub garden was so full and drinks were having to be poured and then delivered to each table. However it also didn't feel like we waited that long for our order to arrive either - I've waited longer in a queue at a bar. We'll definitely be returning to this pub, but next time I'm going to be ordering a full pint of beer 🍺. Cheers.

Recently moved to the area, invited friends to go somewhere local to support businesses given current circumstances. Shocking welcoming, completely rude and made to feel totally uncomfortable. Very hostile environment. Actual other visitors to the pub were lovely but the owners approach was shocking. “This isn’t a child friendly pub mate” when all our 8 month old was doing was sleeping in her pram. Is one of the many disgusting comments we received in our visit. We take our daughter everywhere without any issues. Totally shocked in 2020 to be met with such hostility. I have lived relatively local for 20+ years and never had such a terrible experience. Will he telling everyone I know not to support such a business. Made a conscious effort to avoid the chains and support local and totally disappointment.

I have lived in Clent on and off since birth in '68. So after a long walk, Sally my dog who weighs 2.5 kgs, and I thought we'd treat ourselves to half a pint of beer, and popped into a country pub. As there were people eating, I picked her up and headed to the bar. Before we were two yards from the bar a young (ahem) gentleman appeared - shaved head, beard, horn rimmed glasses, you know the type – and said, “sorry mate you can't bring the dog in the bar.” I told him that I was carrying her we just wanted half a pint to drink outside at which he said, “sorry mate you're going after leave her outside.” I told him that we just wanted a swift half, and we'll drink it outside at which he said again, “sorry mate; tie her up outside first". I advised him that I was not his mate, I was a customer; to which he said again, "sorry mate - dog outside!" I told him. “up yours”. This used to be a beautiful country pub where you could have a beer or, if you wanted, dine in style. Talk about being silly! This is ridiculous! There’s a place in Hagley that lets dogs in and is far cheaper and less pretentious! Well done the King Arthur! I'd recommend the Fountain to anybody who likes expensive beer and try to impress someone, and thinks they’re better than people who’ve lived there half a century; but drive out into the country, think you're in a country pub, and this is how they treat locals – and you eat there??? You bunch of idiots. As for the staff – I will not lower myself to use the words you deserve.
