The Swan Inn in South Bucks

Fabulous meal, beef shin was great! Very friendly and accommodating team, my friend was stuck on M25 but there was no issue with delaying our meal time for 30mins. I meet friends here for lunch or dinner several times a year, lovely pub/team and well worth the drive from Oxford.

Perfect place to stay, location good, clean and tidy, just a short walk to shops, reastraunts nearby, quaint little pub, friendly service, will be back for more

This is a must try place, the roast beef was absolute amazing, cooked perfection. The gravy was thick and delicious. The service was also outstanding , reasonably priced. Can’t wait to come back again

We visited here yesterday with my wife and my daughter, her boo and their two teenage sons. We found the staff very very friendly and super efficient. Nothing was too much trouble. We all had starters and Main course. Everything was cooked to a very high standard. Tender meat, nice crispy roast potatoes. We will definitely be back Ian Thorne

We arrived early but received a warm welcome despite the fact the restaurant was not open for another 10 minutes. There were a variety of options on both the main menu and the day's specials. The food was delicious and the service superb. Wish we lived locally.

My wife and I booked in here late one Sunday afternoon (it always seems to be mega-booked at weekends) for 4pm. We stopped in the Green Man Pub next door for a quick drink, but really both of these are not traditional pubs anymore with little bar space and coming second to seated tables. The Swan Inn had a nice ambience and the staff were welcoming and attentive. The Houmus & Bread + French Onion Soup with Cheese on Toast starters were both lovely, with good sized portions. I had the Leg of Lamb and my wife had the Roast Chicken and both were excellent quality. There is also a good selection of decent wines, the Rioja was very good. The food is top drawer here, well prepared and presented (correctly) on hot plates. Only reason I could not award 5* is the two front doors were both left open, so when the inner door opened, it blew cold air into the front of the Inn - to be fair it was a stormy afternoon. We will be back soon !

The food is out of this world, the beef stew I’ll definitely be back for. The service was amazing, such friendly team. Can’t wait to come back.

Stayed the night in Denham on way to friends and chose the Swan for evening meal. So glad we did. Everything was outstanding - food, service, ambience and the owner Millie was as good as you can meet. Had dog with us so ate in the bar (next to a roaring fire) but actually felt no different to being in the main restaurant area. In our view, don’t hesitate, just book and enjoy a lovely evening. As an aside, popped our head in The Green Man next door after but it looked very quiet in comparison and a bit ‘chainy’. Confirmed our feeling that the Swan comfortably the better choice.

Fantastic food, amazing wines, outstanding service an all round lovely evening. A gluten free options for my coeliac partner. A lovely wood burner to keep you warm. Highly recommend. A must visit place.

This is one place I would return to over and over again. The staff are some of the best I have ever come across and truly understand customer service, from the moment you walk through the door to the time you leave. With regular changes to the menu there is alway a great meal to have. We are yet to be get board with what is on offer.

Visited last night and loved the fact that Turkey is on the menu for the whole of December, great cauliflower cheese too. A little loud but the pub was full so better than an empty pub!

I’m not one to right review but our Sunday roast was awful! Meat was over cook the vegetables, well the lack of looked frozen. The roast potatoes were burnt! The gravy was tasteless! The service was ok. Nothing to right home about! Smelly dog next to us! For the money we paid I would expect better!

Exceptional overall lunch with a warm friendly welcome and fantastic service throughout from all the team. Our main waiter ( young man who has a nut allergy- so sorry I didn’t get your name) was extremely knowledgeable, helpful and so utterly amazing from start to finish. He was great with my slightly frail mum and made us feel relaxed dealing with her allergies. The food was completely delicious- I had the vegetarian wellington with roast accompaniments and it was one of the best veggie Sunday roasts I have eaten. The rest of the family had a mixture of the meats on offer and thoroughly enjoyed it all and the desserts to finish. Great that they are dog friendly and the garden room was kept nice and cozy. I would recommend booking as its obviously very popular and was great to see it so busy 🎉🎉 Thank you to all of the team we had a wonderful lunch 🎉🎉🎉

We had a great lunch at The Swan, I had visited almost 10 years ago, and little has changed, especially the highlight continues to be the excellent Bubble and Squeak. Our slight disapointment comes from the lack of 'decent' Vegitarian options. The day we visited offered a Vegtable Curry or a Halloumi Burger, both options feeling more at home at a Ibiza Beach Bar than this beautiful old english pub. With the popularity of Vegan and Vegitarian dining I really hope there can be some more traditional 'pub grub' vegi options for our next visit. Super laid back and casual, but still upmarket and with high standards, visiting Denham and The Swan is a wonderful option if you are in the area. Bubble and Squeek is must order.

We enjoyed a lovely evening at The Swan Inn - a warm and friendly welcome (dog-friendly - bonus). Our waitress was first class, the atmosphere/setting was cosy and inviting, the menu had great options for us all and the food was delicious. Thanks to all in the pub for a great experience. 4 of us went to celebrate my Birthday and had an absolutely top night. Staff and service were so friendly, helpful and had time to have a good chat with us all. Food was superb for all of us and we are looking forward to going again soon.

Lovely little inn set in the rustic part of Denham. There's parking at the rear if you can't find anything out front. We shared a salt and pepper squid with a battered coating which was sublime! For my main I had the lamb in a harissa cous cous topped with a tzatziki sauce on top if I recall. The lamb was cooked to perfection. It was a special so I'm not sure how long it will be available for. Lots of flavours and I could have eaten another portion. The other half picked a sea bream fillet in a gazpacho sauce with olives. She wasn't aware that gazpacho was a cold sauce but still found it delicious and full of flavour. I had for dessert the pavlova with a passionfruit and raspberry sauce. Very glad I picked this over the white chocolate cheesecake, which while lovely was no match for the home made pavlova. Sweet and fruity! I had a house merlot which perfectly accompanied the lamb. We also had cappuccinos to end the night which was fine. Nice outdoor seating which catered for diners with dogs. Children could run around in the garden so I would be happy to bring the family here. Friendly staff. Toilets are clean too. Pricing reflects the quality of the food which is certainly worthy and deserving of the accolades this establishment has collected. We shall return!

Shame that the owners are horrible people . Was very aggressive toward my friend and even reported myself to the police for drink driving when I don’t drink. When I confronted them they said nothing filmed me. Even though they banned my friends and I , I wouldn’t go back if i could do to the lying owners wasting police time . Steer clear of here . Oh my days - this place is good. No not good, great. It purrs like a finely tuned high performance engine. The front of house team are SO in sync with each other that service appears effortless. It isn’t it takes work to be this good. The menu was extensive and varied. The food itself was captivating, beautifully presented, imaginative and most important of all delicious. “What about the downsides?” I hear you ask. There weren’t any. Not one. None. Go - and ENJOY

What a fantastic pub in a beautiful village! The Swan Inn was incredible. Went there tonight with my husband and our Labrador for the first time and we were not disappointed! The pub is fully dog friendly, we sat in the bar area but they have an extensive outdoor dining area and a pub garden. The atmosphere is relaxed and cosy. The staff are fantastic and polite. We enjoyed some really great food which arrived quickly and the drinks were great. Honestly if you want a brilliant pub to go with the family and your dog then you should definitely go here. Best Sunday dinner, apart from my house and the Bowling Green in Northwich. My wife had beef, I had beef and chicken, roasties lovely, veg same, gravy amazing. Lovely red wine, staff were great. Might be a bit more pricey than up north, but nevertheless lovely, so much so we corrected the bill by making sure they added all the drinks we had.

We had lunch at the Swan for my wife’s 70th birthday theres was 9 of us and two Border Collies , the staff looked after us and our dogs with care and were attentive to all our requests the food was very good and the service was quick, it is also great value for money will go back again soon.

I keep coming back here for the atmosphere, the great food and the outside garden space. The staff are relaxed and friendly, the food is varied and beautifully prepared, the Saturday Brunch a particular favourite with their American buttermilk pancake with banana and maple yoghurt is gorgeous at a mere £4.75. But truly it's all fabulous.

Late Friday night dinner with friends. Service was brilliant and food came out fast. I went for a vegan main option, a strudel which unfortunately was over done. All in all everything was very good.

Booked a table on a Monday at midday. Place was empty. Within 15 minutes it was pretty packed. This was understandable as the Swan Inn has a brilliant menu and the food we sampled was impeccable.The most expensive thing on the menu, the (£27) rib eye was cooked to perfection. The sides of onion rings and courgette fries were really special and the chocolate brownie filled doughnut, which I was originally sceptical about, was perfect for a sweet toothed individual. Good (not too strong) IPA and wine selection.I would say they might need to have a look at their wood burner as it wasn’t kicking out much heat but that’s not a problem.In a tiny village it was interesting to see at least three pubs in close proximity (the Swan has a direct neighbour in the same trade). Good to see them all surviving although the Swan’s neighbours weren’t half as busy at the same time.The staff were friendly and the service was good.Very highly recommended.

Were visiting family in the area been here before and food was very good but on this occasion me and my son went for Sunday roast mine was ok but overpriced for what it was my son's was disappointing the meat had more fat and gristle that meat. For a pub in a nice area with the prices it charges I expect better also the toilet door lock was broken, something I expect to be mended as soon as it is faulty.

We was lucky as we were late for lunch but rather tha turn our buisness away we were told if we could place our order quickly that they would serve us, happy days. My partner ordered the Haddock & Salmon starter whilst I ordered the Bubble N Squeak as a main both were very as was the service. We live in Uxbridge and had never been here before today and were so pleasantly surprised I wanted to leave a review. The pub/restaurant was really busy when we arrived which usually means a long wait however we were quickly shown to our table by the lovely staff and given a high chair without fuss. The restaurant is so cosy and the atmosphere was just right for a Relaxing Sunday afternoon (no loud music). The menu was just how we like it ... kept simple (Sunday roasts, fish and chips/burger) etc and a good selection for our toddler. The food was delicious (however we’ll definitely order a side order of extra roasties next time ) but we do tend to over indulge Sunday’s - the desert was even better! Again not much of a selection but for a reason as everything was so fresh and homemade.We’ll definitely be back!

An absolutely enjoyable lunch with their new menu. We had a table of 4 adults who tried a lovely range and it was all fantastic food. The Rebellion IPA was also a winner! The staff were also attentive and kind, an all round superb experience.

I meant to review this place a few weeks ago ... we came twice in December and had such a lovely time on both occasions. The food is great and the staff were so helpful. I had the duck on the first occasion - a must have! The second time I came there was a small issue with my food but it was rectified immediately and everyone was friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place. Warm fires, great drinks and friendly staff :)

Traveling by train from London, may I say, by myself. I walked down to Village Road and this sweet little "gem" greeted me. My last name being Sistrunk-Denham, I wanted to visit The Village of Denham. I stopped in to have a coffee and dessert at the Swan Inn and was welcomed and treated with open arms. A wonderful gentleman who worked at the pub kept me company for a while talking of New Orleans and just the USA in general. I truly enjoyed my brief time in Denham, just a few hours, but was greeted by other residents there who gave me a tour of the local church and graveyard. I will be back this November (2020) with my youngest son to visit the Swan Inn again. A Wonderful pub!

Although had to park a short way from the pub, the pub, the staff and the ambiance more than made up for this only negative.

I was recommended to the Swan Inn via a social media group. The place was packed out for the 2nd Sunday in January and quite clearly you need to book as many people turned up without a reservation and were turned away.

I often visit in the summer and although I find some staff snooty, I ignore this as it has a nice garden. We visited for Sunday roast for the first time and the food was disappointing, dry and overcooked.

Four of us were here for an evening meal and although I didn’t find many things on the menu for my personal taste my dining companions loved it, and that being said my final choice was really tasty, the staff here are just lovely also, they were there when we needed them and were very pleasant.

We usually avoid restaurants in December as they cannot cope and usually the food is uninspiring and the staff cannot cope and are short tempered.This was not the case at the Swan.It was refreshing to go to a pub/restaurant where the staff are welcoming and understand the menu.The food was pretty good too, Certainly will be going again in the New Year

Superb Christmas lunch. Duck egg with mushrooms were delicious. Pork belly was moist yet crispy, and served with the best gravy I’ve tasted ever. Sticky toffee sundae was amazing. Love the eco friendly crackers that raise money for the homeless via Shelter.

We have eaten here twice in the past week: one visit was a Christmas gathering of 20 for dinner and the second time 4 of us for a Sunday lunch. On both occasions, it was enjoyable and although extremely busy ( especially on the evening ) the food and service was very good. ) There is a nice relaxed feel to the place, a good choice of food and friendly staff. Parking can be difficult. There is a small car park behind the pub and some street parking, but it is a very popular, lovely village and you may struggle. It’s definitely worth a visit though.
