The Swan Hotel in Forest of Dean

Popped in here yesterday to ask if dogs are allowed in..... Person behind bar was very rude, just said no they are not in a very abrupt manner. Don't bother going in, very quiet, no atmosphere, no customer attentive.

Just come back from a nights stay in this place..What a friendly place the staff go above and beyond to make sure your stay is what you would expect..Definitely be returning

Great room, comfortable bed with tea, coffee and biscuits provided. Staff are friendly and the breakfast is a good start to the day.

Amazing hotel and pub, the staff were very helpful and generous, helped us find a taxi company that also did a great job for us and the restaurant downstairs was amazing and offered incredibly good deals, not to mention the fantastic free breakfast and free parking. Highly reccomend .

Room - very comfy bed with accessible plugs and bed side lamp Breakfast - great quality large full English alongside fresh orange juice and tea/coffee included in price. Service - friendly accomodating staff really recommend this.

Good quality pub food served with a smile. Always delighted with the quality, never disappointed at the price! The best pies ever, boy, can they make pastry!

I had stayed for 2 nights, and i loved. Nice Staff, nice bedroom with shower, busy as it gets, car park on the back, good smell in the corridors and bedrooms. Its on good location, right in the corner of a small junction, between Tesco and Lidl. You have a train station nearby, and Lydney Harbour with a small parking, where you can park and walk around through the walk way or through the fields next to the Severn River!!!!

Lovely Hotel with great staff who are super helpful and welcoming. Great breakfast with plentiful partitions to set you up for the day! Right in the centre of Lydney, with easy access to local services. Would recommend for a weekend break!

Convient location. Staffs are very friendly & helpful. They know well what hospitality is about. Excellent breakfast. I was staying in room 7 for 4 nites. Good mattress. The firmness was just perfect for me which offered me restful nights duirng my stay. Room is clean. Bathroom is clean & roomy. The only small downside is the watertap is old style (hot water & cold water are separated) and the socket in bathroom was out of order. If I will ever travel again to the area, I will probably take this hotel.

We had a light lunch which was nice but quite pricey for a sandwich

Says they allow dogs on website but they don’t so don’t bother, plenty of places that do.

Didn't stay only had food here. Friendly staff and good food. Deserves more customers.

Stayed on Saturday 16th March, everything in the room you needed, very friendly and helpful staff, breakfast was fantastic, all freshly cooked and hot, very enjoyable, would recommend. Kath.

Friendly staff, delicious breakfast.

Held a lunch party to celebrate a special birthday a couple of weeks before Christmas. Party included three young children. Food and service were outstanding (thanks in particular to Chris, who went well beyond what we could have expected). Home cooked really means home cooked here. Highly recommended! Only problem with this venue is parking is a bit restricted

Lovely friendly people , very welcoming (thanks Chris 🙂). Had a single room that was just right - everything I needed to hand. Breakfast was fab - would definitely recommend staying here.
