Another branch of KINGS HEAD pub & Restaurant near A40 Gloucester. Great ambience, food and drinks. Perfect place for family and friends getogether. Spacious parking and children's play area available. Beautiful and quiet area. We had a Sunday dinner from here and happy to recommend this place without a second thought.

Great pub. Great playground Fantastic views Service was brilliant, very welcoming and friendly staff. Food was delicious, home cooked. Big portions as well. Perfect stop for a meal ,dri k and rest coming back from Symonds Yat. We will definitely return !

We have had dinner when passing a couple of times usually very good. Don’t know if last night was an exception it was terrible had to ask to warm up the pie which was well over cooked and mushy not a crispy top. The crumble also mushy but ice cream nice. We did get a refund as if they expected it to come back. Guys this is a great pub please don’t let it slip we have put our visit down to your busy or new chief

Popped in on way back from symonds yat, for a bite to eat. We popped here a good 10 years or so back after a fame of golf, the burgers weren't cooked properly raw in the middle. This time it wasn't much better, my husband had beef lasagna and it was a weird colour and watery so didn't eat much of it. My sons steak wasn't very hot, my hunters chicken was OK, but very dry. Won't be stopping here again.

We had lunch here today en route to Ross on Wye. The landlady warmly welcomed us. They have a large dining area. A lot of seniors were enjoying £14 for 2 courses promotion and the restaurant seemed to be fairly full. Kings Head offers a no fuss typical pub grub ( no pretence of being a gastro pub here ) We ordered one small burger with chips and one of their whopper burgers. The whopper is really a whopping combination of two large beef patties with two bacon rashers, two eggs along with 4 onion rings, chunky chips and crispy leaves and tomato salad. We hate wasting food and my wife somehow managed to finish her small burger meal but I struggled to finish my 'Whopper Burger' and ended up leaving most of the chips untouched. I am sure The Kings Head must attract a lot of passing trade just like us apart from the regulars. If you are hungry and in the vicinity, do drop in, you will leave happy and well satisfied.

Well what can I say! So very disappointed! Used to always go to this pub, but today... food was awful. A female member of staff was very rude and her manners were terrible. We complained and she said she would get the manager, but they never came out to see us. Last time we be going there. Pitty it used to be such a nice place. Credit only to the young lad who served us behind the bar, he was very polite and had lovely front of house manners.

Passing by and called in here for lunch. Myself, husband and dog. They have great deals on. We chose seniors 2 courses for £13. We chose the steak pie, chips and peas. Proper homemade pie with tender beef in gravy and nice pastry. Nice puddings as well. Really nice lady runn8ng the bar. Well recommended 👌

Been before to the Kings Head for a family get together. Went again today and the Sunday Lunch was 2nd to none. Amazing quality and large portion size and with a free dessert!!! Highly recommended and will be returning for more wonderful food and the warm welcome.

Absolutely wonderful food and service. Steak pie was genuinely homemade and the best I've had from a pub meal in a long time. Thank you and we will see you very soon.

Food expensive and not particularly good quality. No fan in the room. Very noisy kitchen fan that was on most of the night. Expensive for one night.

Whilst in the area visiting family they recommended the Kings Head and we were not disappointed Food was fantastic and portion sizes are big making it very much worth the money. Would defo visit again.

Called in on a random Sunday ride pleasant atmosphere with great food and reasonable prices + free desert with Sunday lunch! there's a play area for children outside I must comment on the cleanliness of the rest room / toilet as was the pub in general top marks 👍

Went for a 40th party. Lovely food and if you had a Sunday roast you could have a free pudding. That was also lovely. It was chosen for the children's play area which was very good.

I phoned direct to book a room for myself yesterday booking on phone was quick good communication from member of staff I booked room with balcony was impressed with this staff are brilliant & breakfast was cooked to order which I prefer & was freshly cooked was lovely just a shame I couldn’t stay second night but had to work but will definitely book again

We popped in for a quick drink, play area is great for the children, then it rained so we headed inside to play darts & a game of pool. Food smelled amazing, shall try some next time. Friendly staff.

Worst Sunday roast I've ever had, no fresh veg all out of a tin or out of the freezer.

Had Sunday dinner. It has got to be one of the worst Sunday dinners we have ever had. Meat was paper thin and tasted like it had been kept warm for ages. Veg was frozen. It was like eating a ready meal. Staff were pleasant with good service. Also forgot to mention my wine was warm. Wasn't cheap either. We have eaten in lots of lovely pubs whilst we have been on holiday this week and their food was fantastic and similar price.

Met family here for my mum’s 80th birthday and staff were helpful and friendly. Huge portions and relaxed atmosphere.

Evening meal with friends. Popped in this evening to a lovely toasty, festive welcome. 4 friends get together. Food was deliciously hot, good quality ingredients and lashings of it. Generous portions served with a smile. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and we will be back as well as recommend.

Myself, my husband and our kids come for a Sunday lunch, I asked for pork, they gave me beef, so asked politely to change it, it got scrapped of the plate and pork put on there with gravey scrape marks over the plate, then I tried my food, I had two tiny “ roast “ potatoes, which were so hard inside I struggled to cut, they were basically new potatoes, only I knew the difference as I had 2 small new potatoes on my plate and they more colour to them than my actual roast potatoes, the pork was dry and tasteless, as were the potatoes, the gravy was like dish water and completely bland. I had a soggy awful tasting Yorkshire pudding, which I had one bite and couldn’t eat also, after a couple of mouthfulls my husbands, apologised and said it’s not very nice, the manager come over, and told me she’s eating the same and it’s absolutely fine and she don’t see the problem. She was smirking at me and told me she won’t be refunding or doing anything about it as it’s fine. Her customer service is shocking. Their prices are absolutely shocking for the dogs dinner they’re actually serving! Her food is terrible. I wouldn’t employ her to work at a fast food restaurant, let alone a quite village “ warm welcoming “ pub.

Best steak and ale pie ever- tender melt in mouth beef with a rich ale gravy. Don't think just because the portions are large the food is basic. It's really good! Great meal

Large group of us had a meal for our sons 18th birthday, the food and staff were amazing and so accommodating, highly recommended and thank you for looking after us so well 😊

Wonderful food and drink. Polite and friendly staff made us feel welcomed. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, spacious and clean. The food was great value and large quantity, the hunters chicken was the biggest I've ever had. Well cooked and if we visit the area again will definitely be back here.

We stopped on the off chance for a Sunday lunch. Well the Sunday lunch literally filled the whole plate and was absolutely delicious, and to top it off we had a dessert in with the price.. all in all the service and food was fabulous, we would definitely call in again and would recommend it to anyone. Definitely worth 5 star rating.

I had a nice Sunday Lunch , a more seasoned gravy and maybe some stuffing would definitely improve things. Prompt friendly service. Appears to have a good children's play area outside. Good parking too. I'd definitely return. The only real negative was a couple emptying a full car load of bottles into the bottle bank in the car park. A perfect way of disturbing the peace.

No non alcohol beer choice and pretty limited choice..soda was so flat ,no wonder there was only 3 people in there

Pathetic service! We are never going to go back… just came back after our Father’s Day lunch today which was served after a 45mins of long wait though the pub wasn’t busy - there was no acknowledgment of why there was a delay. Staff’s behaviour was atrocious, they did even not bother to give us any directions while we were waiting at our table - overall a very unpleasant experience!

Personally I would avoid this place. Ordered fish which was cold when served. My husband had steak and ale pie and the steak was dry. DEFINITELY will not be going again

Lovely place super friendly staff!

So expensive for a not so great place!! The play area was great, but more like a park. Adults can't watch the kids properly in there because there's no where to put your drinks down. Just benches. No tables. Sites a bit misleading, there's one Goat and a couple of rabbits. We drove all the way out there for the play area part and it was just all a bit naff, so was already put off. Then handed the menus and saw the prices and thought "not a chance". Ended up paying half the price somewhere else and could watch the kids on a normal picnic bench in the sun, inside the play area. Unfortunately, won't be coming back!
