Waited a long time for the food which was Ok, nothing special, one member of the bar staff was bad mannered and made me feel uncomfortable, the table that was reserved For us was dirty. On another occasion we waited over an hour for our food to arrive, and then hurried to move because the next booking was due!!! Service charge is included in the bill but the service leaves a lot to be desired.

We’ve booked four weeks ahead for a party of 20, agreed individual orders and price in advance. The food was ok. Then came the time to pay. Firstly they tried to charge £17 per burger instead of the agreed £10. Then some burgers weren't included in the agreed £10. It was farcical and embarrassing for all concerned. Having experienced similar problems here before when it came to payment time, it was no surprise to me. But what should have been a celebration for a colleague leaving work was spoiled by such a poor attitude from the management.

Good location near to M5 junction. Busy and therefore very noisy. Staff were pleasant and hepful. Not clear that you have to order food as well as drinks at the bar. Food we had was freshly cooked, decent quality, prices average/ bit pricey. Service charge is added to the bill. Lacks any special quality or atmosphere, fine for meeting friends but not special.

We were hesitant about visiting as previous experience was not great due to extremely slow service and reading recent reviews didn't instill confidence. We had to wait about forty minutes, but the food was hot and enjoyable when it arrived. We did notice however that orders taken after ours were delivered before our table, maybe the orders not done in correct order in kitchen? Dessert menu was limited especially as the cheesecake had sold out...... Our major gripe was the 20% service charge, not sure what that was for as we had to order our food and drinks at the bar. I would expect table service if you are adding service charge to the bill.

Great venue, friendly service and a fantastic breakfast. Favourite place to meet and catch up with my boy. Highly recommend.

Always lovely meal whether it’s lunch or evening meal. Adapt menu for my Gluten and lactose intolerance. Highly recommend

We went for my sisters birthday , food was tasty and well presented . Staff were very pleasant, it was very busy with it being a Friday evening and a nice warm evening so very busy which made waiting times a little longer than usual . We will be returning again very soon 🌟

After an hour and 20 minutes waiting to be served food i asked the staff where our food was. Whilst annoyed it was a polite conversation and the staff were apologetic and looked to resolve quickly. As it was the food came out within a minute or two on plates that were as hot as the tile on a space shuttle that had just re-entered the atmosphere No inclination that it was going to take so long we were just forgo0tten about probably. To be fair the good was good but the wait makes the whole experience quite miserable. Been here quite a few times in the past and it was always a high recommend... they need to have a rethink as i ma not the only reviewer to say as much and to be fair the attitude of staff is great but that can only last so long.

Good size car park with an easy entrance and exit greets you when entering the Swan. There were several disabled parking spaces too. Inside was decorated really nicely, with plenty of tables, many in secluded areas so would be a nice place for a quiet meal. Toilets were clean and tidy and the whole pub gave an impression of being really well kept and maintained. No time for a meal this visit, but I'm sure the food would be just as good as the venue.

The meal was absolutely first class, as was the friendliness and service of the staff. I would recommend to anyone the Chicken & Bacon salad - incredible!

Great food as always. Love to come here when we can and enjoyed our evening .

Special steak night was good value and well cooked

We had a lovely time at the Swan at Whittington. We went for a Sunday Roast and the food was delicious. Service was very good from all of the staff who served us. It was our wedding anniversary and we were given a bottle of Prosecco on the house which was a lovely surprise. Looking forward to returning again soon. Thanks

Service was a little slow and we had to go to the bar to ask for more drinks and call staff for service/side plates. Drinks were somewhat pricey- we weren’t asked what size wine we wanted but assumed it would be regular - the price suggests they were large? Nice lounge/bar area and not too busy or noisy

The food was ok. However we had to wait nearly 50 mins with no staff keeping us informed, as also had to get the attention of a young waitress to ask for me drinks

First visit following a recommendation by friends, hadn’t appreciated it was quite as expensive as it was but the portions were generous. Wine in particular very expensive by the glass and no cider available. Main course unfortunately for me or spoilt because there was a lot of smoked bacon on the potato which made the overall belly pork dish very salty. 

Excellent food served in a fast & friendly manner together with a nice bottle of Merlot. A1

Had our daughter in law's baby shower there on Saturday,staff where lovely,food was lovely, we had the conservatory,it was lovely and private for our party, such a lovely pub.

Met the family here, will do it again. Very enjoyable afternoon

As a family we have eaten at the swan numerous times & always had lovely food. On arrival we were seated not drinks order taken or even asked if we would like drinks We they have to wave a member of staff over to get an order taken looked like a manager. We waited average time for starters even though the pub wasn’t over busy Starters were fine mains not good at all We kids food was average my wife an I ordered the Jeff special roast . All meat wasn’t the best apart from the chicken breast but that’s hard to get wrong. Potatoes very salty roasted veg hard / rubbery all in all not the best. It was 3.30pm when we got our table & I can’t help but think the main rush was over & they took their foot off the gas as they weren’t busy. My wife ordered another drink and that never arrived yet at one point there were 5/6 staff all stood in a group talking near the area where tables are sorted & tickets put on the wall for food. Didn’t bother with puddings paid the bill and left Very disappointed

Booked a table of 4 to celebrate our 13th wedding anniversary. Arrived and was seated quickly, they had provided table decoration and prosecco (an unexpected treat). The staff were friendly and service quick. The food was very filling and very very nice. Would highly recommend anyone to visit them, and we will be back again

We have been here several times and food was very good but on this occasion it was barely OK. Between us we had ordered a number of different meals and nearly all were disappointing. Lovely helpful staff but please can someone improve the quality of the food. Before we visit again I will be checking reviews. Thanks

Lovely service from Beth and Paige. Food was nice, bit above our usual price range. Bad point could of cleaned floor in conservatory!

The food as always was spot on however we did feel rushed to leave. We were told the bar was closing at 9.30 as there were minimal customers and then again told they were closing the pub at 9.45 so my friend and I had to leave via the beer garden. Not great when you feel your not wanted!

Had the afternoon tea for our anniversary. It was amazing. Highly recommend can't wait to go back and have it again

Booked breakfast at The Swan to meet with a friend. Good table, quiet place in restaurant. Fairly decent selection of food- I had the full English and my friend had eggs Benedict., each requiring slight adjustments to the advertised food. Our needs were made perfectly. The food was very well prepared and tasted delicious. Service was unobtrusive and efficient. All round experience was excellent. Would recommend to all.

Help fil and friendly staff, went for my partners birthday dinner. Booked on the day and left a note hope to have a cake and a candle which they managed to make it happen for us. Made our evening pretty special. Great food and atmosphere

The service was poor, there was a lack of staff present. There was a lack of staff present, no body checked to see how we were, waiting a long time for service. The food was lovely, but the service was extremely slow.

Myself and a friend attended the Swan for dinner and a catch up as it is a very convenient meeting place being close to the motorway networks. Staff were friendly and quite attentive. As it was steak night (Mondays) we both ordered rump steak. My friend ordered well done which had to be sent back as it was still pink and I ordered medium which was ok. Steak was quite bland and a little flavourless however my steak was extremely tough. I managed to eat half of it, but had to leave the other part as it was just impossible to cut. I think I must have been unlucky as my friends steak was quite tender. We mentioned it to the waitress who said she would speak to the manager. When we came to pay, we asked whether she had spoken to the manager to which she replied yes and there was nothing she could do. We paid and left but would not return for another steak anytime soon.

Nice outlook and dining area and first class service but the food was not the best with one of our party having a lamb joint that was almost raw in the middle and a pig in blanket on another meal hardly cooked.We should have complained at the time but we let it go. .

All our food was great particularly the roast dinners. The only slight thing was the dessert and bill took a while to arrive.

5 of us visited The Swan for dinner on Saturday night. Everyone was very happy with their meal and thoroughly enjoyed both their main meals and desserts. We have visited this pub many times over the years and have never been disappointed.

This really is the best place to go in worcestershire! Great food, reasonable prices and lovely restaurant. Staff always very friendly and helpful. The special touches they provide make it extra special… We had an anniversary dinner and they set the table with a celebratory plaque and bottle of Prosecco/ my partner proposed at the restaurant and the staff went above and beyond to make the occasion extra special…. Fantastic *****

Lovely food would have bdn nice to been made aware we could not use our Nhs discount when we asked for the bill we had no ctkue until the bill was presented with no discount especially as i had been asked to produce my Id

Our party has eaten here many times over the last 12 years. Last night we were pleased with the warm welcome, food order,service & ambience. Slight down point was when 2 of our party requested 1/2 pints of soft drinks. They were given pint sizes. When raised with the drink server she was very dismissive, no apology & just said “you will only be charged for halves” The price was not the point !!! One member of our party for health reason has to be very restrictive of sugar consumption so a 1/2 pint drink portion was requested for valid reason.

Great food and lovely staff. I'd highly recommend it. The homemade chicken pie was delicious.

Birthday celebration with a big group and the staff were wonderful, happy and friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. Food was delicious and good portion sizes, brought out to us quickly. First time visiting and will definitely be back again

Everything here is amazing the food, the atmosphere, service and anything else you can think of. There are plenty of tables so it is perfect to come in big groups. There is also a little playground if you bring your kids. I recommend coming here.

Lovely well-cooked food, friendly warm service and great atmosphere

I booked The Swan for a surprise 85th birthday celebration. We were a group of 13. The evening was very good overall and the food was excellent. It all came out together and was piping hot. The meal portions were very generous and there was a good choice on the menu, something to suit everyone (from age 12 to 85). My nephew said it was the best burger he’d had and my niece felt the same about her chocolate brownie so everyone was happy. We had been allocated a lovely area to sit in and had the place ourselves but still felt part of the.pub. The team were very friendly and I would definitely go back. However, there were a few niggles. For parties of 12 and above you have to preorder your meals 4 days in advance. You are ‘not allowed’ to order anything on the day or cancel any part of your order on the day. One of our group had changed her mind about having a dessert but she wasn’t able to cancel it. So there is limited flexibility for large groups . Also, we had to wait an hour between the starter course and the main course. So those not having a starter were pretty hungry by the time they got their food at around 8pm (we arrived at 6.45pm).

Overall it was just okay. We waited for a while for the food to come. Once, the food came it was really tasty. And the staff were trying to keep up with the service despite how busy they are. So it was worth it. :D

We have been twice in the last 3 weeks. Sunday lunch was excellent. I would certainly recommend giving the Swan a try.

We sat at an outside table on a lovely sunny day. It was a busy lunchtime, but didn't take too long to order food and drinks at the bar. Staff were friendly and helpful. Our food was lovely - we all ordered the Chicken Salad, which came with a generous portion of chunky chips. The only downside of sitting outside is the traffic noise

Great food at reasonable prices for the current climate. Lovely home made style food that I think most people would enjoy. Best of all the portions are reasonable again I think they would be suitable for most. This is our second visit in recent times and we intend to come back again.

Food not up to usual standard. Had to send pizza back as it had a piece missing from the edge. Also it had too much cheese on it. Fish was a bit greasy on the fish and chips option. The rest of the food was pretty good.

A family meet up for my dad’s birthday and we had a great time. The food was lovely and the service was very friendly and attentive. We will be back!

Fantastic Sunday Lunch on our way back to Sale from Cornwall . . . It's literally just off the motorway. Staff lovely and very relaxed even though we were 15 minutes late due to an accident on M5.

We visit here regularly when travelling on the M5. Lovely independent pub with great menu choices. Quality of food is always great. Nice decor inside the pub and friendly staff. Definitely recommend.

Good was nice, the staff were friendly and helpful. We were sat near the door that was open, and draft was coming in, it cooled our meals quickly. Great that the dog was aloud in. Will definitely come again

Although it was a busy Saturday lunchtime when we visited , we did not wait long to be served with our meals. The presentation, quality and quantity of the food we could not fault.

Fantastic food. Really busy, could do with another person serving but all of them were really lovely and doing their best.

Food good, staff very pleasant, bright and comfortable dining area. Only drawbacks were there is a large step to access the disabled toilets so one of our party chose not to use the facilities; and on our exit, we got blocked in by people collecting children from the local school so had to wait until a kind soul let us out. Perhaps this could be looked at by the Swan? Overall, we had a very pleasant time.

Picked a busy Monday night with a couple of parties/groups of people. Drinks were a bit slow and had to be chased up but the team were all very busy. Dined off the steak menu (superb!) and then finished with coffee and mini dessert (lovely and not so mini after the huge steak!) Can’t fault the food and at £1 an ounce the steaks were great value given they are locally bred and butchered. The desserts with coffee are a very decent portion size and mine also had a huge scoop of ice cream to accompany it. The pub had a nice, lively atmosphere as it was busy but it was still fine for chatting over dinner. The only slight drawback - which we’ve found with a few country pubs lately - is the relatively early close. We’d have happily had more drinks and stayed later, but we’re out and on our way at 10pm. We use this pub regularly as it’s around halfway for us both to meet and catch up and we know that the food quality is/has always been really good. Lovely beer garden for when summer does actually make an appearance too. Definitely recommended.

Very busy Sunday lunchtime. Food was good, but not outstanding. Service was slow, but staff very pleasant. We ate from the standard Sunday Lunch Menu, but other choices are available. As we go to the Swan fairly regularly, we obviously like the restaurant, and we shall continue to visit.

Great location just off the M5 for a quick lunch break on our journey south. Lovely variety on the menu gives options for a light bite or a larger meal. Friendly and helpful staff and delicious food. Shame the weather wasn’t nicer to enjoy the outside area

My partner and l hadn't been here for a few years. It was our date night and the service was wonderful very friendly also quick. My partner was over the moon with the fish platter it was so fresh and tasty and l finally found somewhere that did Lamb burgers it was excellent. We also shared an ice cream and it's the best ice cream I've tasted especially the rum & raisin we both loved it. We can't wait to go again

Went for breakfast, excellent choice of meals and able to swap a couple of items out for alternatives. Service very good, attentive and friendly.

Me and my friends have been going to the Swan on a regularly basis for our gathering in the last twelve months. However, since April, things have gone downhill there. Service is bad and the standard of food has dropped. Tonight is the last straw, we will not go there anymore! It was not busy but we waited a long time before the waitress came to take our orders. We ordered steaks but they were not cooked to how we ordered them. Most of our steaks were over cooked. The waitress never came back to check how was our food. Might be because she was aware that they were not nice herself and too embarrassed to come and check? Have they changed ownership? New chef? Never mind, we have given them the last chance, will take our business somewhere else.

Pleasant - the pub has had a very nice makeover. Food is reasonable - it’s not restaurant food, just good pub style dishes, pretty well done. It’s hard to work out at the moment (with inflation being an issue), whether £45 for fish and chips twice and two drinks is good value? Although for comparison, our local chippy is now charging £10 for haddock and chips to take out, so maybe it’s not too bad. There’s no table service (except to deliver the plates) but they add 10% to the bill anyway. Staff are all very personable and attentive. Nice countryside setting even though it’s only a few yards to the motorway.

Food was very slow to arrive but was good when served. Asked for a menu for dessert which never arrived so left. Noise level in the conservatory was high making it difficult for conversations.

Nice food but service at table dreadful we had find a staff member to ask to order drinks then again so we could order and ask for the bill and find someone with a card machine why didn’t they bother coming to the table Only time was to ask if meal was good

I've been to the Swan at Whittington numerous times however this time was not as good as the other visits the staff were not as attentive as previous visits even though the pub was quieter. The menu could definitely do with an update and have way more choice too many items on the menu were only avaliable until 6pm for comparison the Bluebell in Worcester has a menu twice as big and the food is the same standard as the Swan. My partner and I were not impressed with the Swan on this visit and have decided not to visit again until the menu is updated and improved, also if you are in the NHS and have blue light they do not accept it on weekends which seems a strange policy as most other places that accept blue light do so 7 days a week

Lovely food and great addition for a friend’s birthday. We had a lovely evening. Great to have a vegan desert option.

Had Sunday lunch when meals turned up half the food on one plate was missing and the roast potato were that hard they had no potato in them sent all food back it came back again no better

Good location with lovely outdoor area and it's a large pub. Food is average, the prawn cocktail was quite watery and difficult to get out of the very tall glass. Looked nice though. The Greek flatbread on the specials menu was very overdone with the sauce, which overpowered the dish but also helped make the dry chicken more palletable Other round the table enjoyed their more traditional pub meal - fish and chips etc.

“There’s a place I want to try on the way home,” she said. I replied: “of course.” “It looks good, and it’s just off the motorway,” she said. In Australia, “just off the motorway” and “good” don’t go together. I lowered my expectations and turned on my indicator and she was right. The Swan at Whittington is just off the motorway and we arrived quickly. I’ll skip ahead to me being completely blown away by the food and atmosphere. We enjoyed a relaxing lunch in the sun, sampling some truly delicious snacks. The crispy halloumi fries were great, the Haddock Goujons with tartare sauce labelled in the menu as a 'Swan Classic' - were yummy and easy to see why they became a classic. The Pork Belly Loaded Fries; topped with sriracha, mayo, and melted cheese, were the best loaded fries I’ve had in ages - the pork belly had amazing crackling! I want to go back and try more of the food. The setting is serene— it was an unexpected oasis and our dog, Major, was welcomed. The staff were incredibly friendly, enhancing our overall experience. I highly recommend stopping by for a satisfying meal in a pleasant atmosphere.

Food was delicious, hot and a good portion. A little expensive, particularly the desserts but worth it as a special treat, especially as it was good quality fayre. It's a convenient location being near the motorway. We would have preferred a different seating area as we were a little disturbed by customers & bar staff passing by to get the bar or toilets. We have already booked to return later in the year.
