The Swan at Whittington in Wychavon

Good choice for a large family meal. Sunday roasts were tasty and portions a good size Service was fine and food came out in good time. Roast potatoes not great but all other vegetables and meat was lovely. Particularly enjoyed the mushroom starter All in all would recommend if you’re looking for somewhere that can cope well with a big group

Not a criticism: the fish pie arrived too hot to eat. How often can you say that?! It cooled to a great consistency. The shredded leek on the side was a lovely touch. Eton Mess desert was magic - whole strawberries with more thick cream than meringue. Exceptional. My partner said the best nut rosst ever (Sunday only?) The 'miniature' version of a full desert - in this case the cheesecake - was a great offering idea - and certainly not tiny.

I came for food last night with some friends, food was excellent as always. Very friendly staff. Great service from Ellie and Harry especially and such a lovely atmosphere.

Service was really slow and had to chase up our order. It was lunchtime and a business meeting but it was nearly an hour before food arrived. Waitress was a bit put out when asked if our order was ready.

Good food, pleasant staff, easy to chat except when a child screaming which was outside the control of staff.

The homemade burgers on Wednesdays are amazing. We’ll recommend a visit

Had a lovely meal at The Swan- steak, burgers & pizza. Puddings and coffee to follow. Good beers on tap too. Staff polite, thoroughly enjoyed the food and great atmosphere. Lovely independent pub.

Had a family lunch at The Swan , Whittington . As always fabulous food , ambience, service etc . Keely & the team Looked after us very well. Efficient , friendly professional service . Tables dirty, sticky menus. Food over cooked and poor quality. Burger looked like it had been kept over from yesterday. Extremely disappointing and would not recommend.

FANTASTIC! Food great. Service great. And superb value

We went yesterday for Sunday lunch and had a host of issues. Service was very bad the whole time, so slow and having to try and get someone's attentions to have food orders taken & drinks. Then the very long wait for food. The meals were disappointing, portions sizes for the roasts were small. One person had the pork loaded fries. Firstly one of the items was missing from it and the pork was basically fat / crackling, there was no edible pork. We also had issues with the desserts, the chocolate orange cheesecake was terrible. Firstly it was a moose not a cheesecake top with a very artificial flavour and the base was rock hard and tasted so sickly. We reported issues when paying the bill and were told they would pass the feedback on. No actual apologies regarding the issues. I also noticed they don't ask tables if the food is ok, is that because they know they will be told no?? We have had a lot of meals over the years at the Swan but it appears something is going wrong there. Majority of recent reviews are now low ratings, I hope the management actually read these as they have issues they need to sort out. You have staff quality issues & food issues. You need to sort these out as we won't be back & I suspect others won't be either.

The swan is our go to for a pub meal. But today I was very disappointed. Service was very slow. I had the pork loaded fries which I had to send back because one item that was listed on the menu was missing from my dish. Also there was no meat at all in it. Just fat. Also had the cheesecake. The base was so hard you couldn’t cut through it and the top was not a cheesecake consistency but was a mousse. It had an artificial chemical taste to it and I couldn’t eat it.

Very disappointing table service, we had to go to bar.. to be told table service, then had to ask for menus, drinks, dessert menu. What should have been a celebration meal was a long drawn out process - meals took time, including a half an hour wait for desserts (even though they wanted our table back by a certain time) plus those that ordered coffee & dessert had finished coffee way before dessert arrived! Although I would say the staff rushed to the table on 2 occasions- once to clear dessert plates even though one of our party was still eating & then to bring the bill! Interesting that they automatically added a service charge, usually we are happy to pay this but given the disappointing service not on this occasion. I think they may need more staff or to take less bookings on a Sunday.

Fish platter was excellent. As was the garlic mushrooms and fish Goujons. Shame that the main special of lamb hot pot and the pie of the day were sold out by 17.30. But the fish pie , sausage and mash and burgers were fabulous alternatives.

Was a nice evening however service was a little slow and we wanted an extra drink and had to wait a while. A bit disappointed that the pie of the day had sold out

The mains were lovely, fish pie was very good, and the brisket burger also very nice, however let down by the puddings the brownie came out rock hard like it had just come from the freezer when questioned they heated it up to point it tastes burnt then, the eaten mess was just meringue in a load of cream mashed together, wasn’t worth the money the puddings sadly very disappointing. But lovely mains.

Best Roast I've had in a long time, crispy potatoes and plenty of it.

We are regular weekly diners but unfortunately the service has gone down and the prices have gone up! Long wait for meal and meal wasn’t as nice as normal, no one checking if meal is ok, no one asking if we’d like more drinks. It’s not the staff’s fault as they seem to be understaffed. More a management problem. Will be giving it a miss for a bit.

Table seating really cramped. Made ordering difficult as we only discovered that we had to go to the bar to order after squeezing into the seats. Dining area very busy, and therefore very noisy, making conversation difficult. Poor choice of beers, and no Becks Blue. Service a bit slow. Food absolutely excellent, and in generous portions too.

Never had a bad meal here and we come often. Delicious food, freshly cooked and all staff very friendly and courteous.

Never been here before as visiting the area to meet with relatives. Staff very quick to put out ramps for my disabled mother in her wheel chair and very easy access to our table. Staff were very pleasant and helpful and service was just as we needed. Food was amazing 🤩 Thank you to all the staff for a lovely evening

My Fiancee and I have just visited to enjoy a meal to close off a lovely holiday. The food was 5 star quality and we throughly recommend the establishment to anyone. The staff were also very professional and attentive.

The waiting staff were very slow and almost made us feel like they were too busy for us. The food is average at best but inflated prices . And the peach crumble was an absolute insult. Tinned peaches with awful crumble topping that was served uncooked and cold! Not even an apology! I expected a fresh peach at least for £8. We definitely will never go back there following that . I just sent it back and we weren’t charged but there was no interest in apologising for quite frankly an insulting plate of food. The place is desperate to be a middle class gastro pub but is quite simply poor sorry , we wanted to enjoy it but paid vowing to never return

I had the lamb roast which was lovely. Unfortunately my partner was disappointed with the beef roast. For the cost there should've been more meet and the beef slices he did have were far too rare and fatty. Surprised that for the first tables having the Sunday roast, we thought the roast usually wouldn't be so rare as one would carve from the outside in. Imagine the centre pieces would've been raw.

Really, really good roast lunch on the way through. You need to book and don’t worry about the wait - it’s worth it!

Poor experience at this restaurant meeting family we hadn’t see in 6 years it was his treat for 6 family members we had to ask at bar to be seated table sticky I ordered chicken at that is mostly what i eat on a night out but No chicken on menu as sold out? & this was 6pm tea time i didn’t fancy anything else so settled for a prawn salad , it arrived with no dressing which i had to ask for . & was brought honey mustard which i don't like so ended up making my own sauce in a tiny dish burgers were over priced and they changed extra for cheese & bacon ,& both burgers came with overcooked fries which we think were reheated & one small portion of fries in a pot & the other one was a bigger pot won’t be going there again so disappointed 😞

We got a bad table next to toilets asked to move and they obliged into the front conservatory much better and had good meal.

This pub is one of the worst pubs I have ever been too. They are extremely rude and arrogant, they do not know what good customer service is and their food is overpriced for basic pub food.

Went for breakfast, greeted with a very unfriendly female member of staff! Breakfast poor quality and overpriced. Had to go up and order as no one returned to serve us after 15 minutes of waiting! No excuse as not busy! Will not be returning!

Love the swan it’s friendly and the meals are amazing. Wouldn’t go anywhere else

havent been here for ages so thought we would give it a try. rang and booked a table for 8pm, they asked if we could do earlier we said we would try as we were travelling home. managed to get there at 7.40. we were given a menu after someone else prompted the team member that we needed help. 15 mins later still sat there no order taken. tables were sticky and didnt feel very welcoming. oh well we left and had a lovely meal at the bluebell at ryall instead.

I celebrated my birthday at the Swan in Whittington, it was nice to see the table with a Happy Birthday card on the table with Happy Birthday chocolates, which was a nice touch from the staff. The service was excellent and the food was top notch, I would recommend it to anybody. We are going to book again for another birthday celebration in October.

The main meal was more than enough for me, didn’t need anything else to eat until the night! It was Sunday Roast - Chicken (chicken piece was more than adequate). Cauliflower cheese was plentiful and excellent as well.

Waited a long time for the food which was Ok, nothing special, one member of the bar staff was bad mannered and made me feel uncomfortable, the table that was reserved For us was dirty. On another occasion we waited over an hour for our food to arrive, and then hurried to move because the next booking was due!!! Service charge is included in the bill but the service leaves a lot to be desired.

Our meal was really good. Unfortunately the service was not, when we arrived we were immediately shown to our table and our drinks order taken. However we were then forgotten; we ordered our food at the bar which arrived promptly but then we were left alone. The table we sat on was in a side room which felt a little cramped and no privacy between diners, although an excellent place for a party. No one checked on us or cleared our plates. We paid our bill at the bar and were then told you don’t take £50 notes which although I understand why, just added to the sorry service we received. I’m really sad about this because I came a few years ago with a friend and had a lovely experience. I had told my husband this and after a special day out thought it would be lovely to end it with a meal at the Swan.

Conveniently placed if travelling on the M5. Friendly and welcoming as soon as you walk in. Prompt service, offering drinks while you peruse the menu to make your food choice and while waiting for the rest of the party to arrive. Varied breakfast menu with good vegetarian options. Prompt with drink top ups.

Tables were very dirty and food left on the floor. The standard of food was not too bad, but definitely not Swan food as Previous years Be going to the Swan now for about 20 years and the standards have definitely dropped, which is a shame And prices are way too high For what is being served?

We’ve booked four weeks ahead for a party of 20, agreed individual orders and price in advance. The food was ok. Then came the time to pay. Firstly they tried to charge £17 per burger instead of the agreed £10. Then some burgers weren't included in the agreed £10. It was farcical and embarrassing for all concerned. Having experienced similar problems here before when it came to payment time, it was no surprise to me. But what should have been a celebration for a colleague leaving work was spoiled by such a poor attitude from the management.

Good location near to M5 junction. Busy and therefore very noisy. Staff were pleasant and hepful. Not clear that you have to order food as well as drinks at the bar. Food we had was freshly cooked, decent quality, prices average/ bit pricey. Service charge is added to the bill. Lacks any special quality or atmosphere, fine for meeting friends but not special.

Arriving at The Swan was beautiful with lovely grounds, as was the main dining area and bar. I was slightly disappointed with my room as it felt a bit run down in comparison.

Always lovely meal whether it’s lunch or evening meal. Adapt menu for my Gluten and lactose intolerance. Highly recommend

We were hesitant about visiting as previous experience was not great due to extremely slow service and reading recent reviews didn't instill confidence. We had to wait about forty minutes, but the food was hot and enjoyable when it arrived. We did notice however that orders taken after ours were delivered before our table, maybe the orders not done in correct order in kitchen? Dessert menu was limited especially as the cheesecake had sold out...... Our major gripe was the 20% service charge, not sure what that was for as we had to order our food and drinks at the bar. I would expect table service if you are adding service charge to the bill.

Great venue, friendly service and a fantastic breakfast. Favourite place to meet and catch up with my boy. Highly recommend.

We went for my sisters birthday , food was tasty and well presented . Staff were very pleasant, it was very busy with it being a Friday evening and a nice warm evening so very busy which made waiting times a little longer than usual . We will be returning again very soon 🌟

After an hour and 20 minutes waiting to be served food i asked the staff where our food was. Whilst annoyed it was a polite conversation and the staff were apologetic and looked to resolve quickly. As it was the food came out within a minute or two on plates that were as hot as the tile on a space shuttle that had just re-entered the atmosphere No inclination that it was going to take so long we were just forgo0tten about probably. To be fair the good was good but the wait makes the whole experience quite miserable. Been here quite a few times in the past and it was always a high recommend... they need to have a rethink as i ma not the only reviewer to say as much and to be fair the attitude of staff is great but that can only last so long.

Good size car park with an easy entrance and exit greets you when entering the Swan. There were several disabled parking spaces too. Inside was decorated really nicely, with plenty of tables, many in secluded areas so would be a nice place for a quiet meal. Toilets were clean and tidy and the whole pub gave an impression of being really well kept and maintained. No time for a meal this visit, but I'm sure the food would be just as good as the venue.

The meal was absolutely first class, as was the friendliness and service of the staff. I would recommend to anyone the Chicken & Bacon salad - incredible!

We had a lovely time at the Swan at Whittington. We went for a Sunday Roast and the food was delicious. Service was very good from all of the staff who served us. It was our wedding anniversary and we were given a bottle of Prosecco on the house which was a lovely surprise. Looking forward to returning again soon. Thanks

Service was a little slow and we had to go to the bar to ask for more drinks and call staff for service/side plates. Drinks were somewhat pricey- we weren’t asked what size wine we wanted but assumed it would be regular - the price suggests they were large? Nice lounge/bar area and not too busy or noisy

The food was ok. However we had to wait nearly 50 mins with no staff keeping us informed, as also had to get the attention of a young waitress to ask for me drinks

First visit following a recommendation by friends, hadn’t appreciated it was quite as expensive as it was but the portions were generous. Wine in particular very expensive by the glass and no cider available. Main course unfortunately for me or spoilt because there was a lot of smoked bacon on the potato which made the overall belly pork dish very salty.

Had our daughter in law's baby shower there on Saturday,staff where lovely,food was lovely, we had the conservatory,it was lovely and private for our party, such a lovely pub.

Met the family here, will do it again. Very enjoyable afternoon

Booked a table of 4 to celebrate our 13th wedding anniversary. Arrived and was seated quickly, they had provided table decoration and prosecco (an unexpected treat). The staff were friendly and service quick. The food was very filling and very very nice. Would highly recommend anyone to visit them, and we will be back again

As a family we have eaten at the swan numerous times & always had lovely food. On arrival we were seated not drinks order taken or even asked if we would like drinks We they have to wave a member of staff over to get an order taken looked like a manager. We waited average time for starters even though the pub wasn’t over busy Starters were fine mains not good at all We kids food was average my wife an I ordered the Jeff special roast . All meat wasn’t the best apart from the chicken breast but that’s hard to get wrong. Potatoes very salty roasted veg hard / rubbery all in all not the best. It was 3.30pm when we got our table & I can’t help but think the main rush was over & they took their foot off the gas as they weren’t busy. My wife ordered another drink and that never arrived yet at one point there were 5/6 staff all stood in a group talking near the area where tables are sorted & tickets put on the wall for food. Didn’t bother with puddings paid the bill and left Very disappointed

We have been here several times and food was very good but on this occasion it was barely OK. Between us we had ordered a number of different meals and nearly all were disappointing. Lovely helpful staff but please can someone improve the quality of the food. Before we visit again I will be checking reviews. Thanks

The food as always was spot on however we did feel rushed to leave. We were told the bar was closing at 9.30 as there were minimal customers and then again told they were closing the pub at 9.45 so my friend and I had to leave via the beer garden. Not great when you feel your not wanted!

Lovely service from Beth and Paige. Food was nice, bit above our usual price range. Bad point could of cleaned floor in conservatory!

Booked breakfast at The Swan to meet with a friend. Good table, quiet place in restaurant. Fairly decent selection of food- I had the full English and my friend had eggs Benedict., each requiring slight adjustments to the advertised food. Our needs were made perfectly. The food was very well prepared and tasted delicious. Service was unobtrusive and efficient. All round experience was excellent. Would recommend to all.

The service was poor, there was a lack of staff present. There was a lack of staff present, no body checked to see how we were, waiting a long time for service. The food was lovely, but the service was extremely slow.

Myself and a friend attended the Swan for dinner and a catch up as it is a very convenient meeting place being close to the motorway networks. Staff were friendly and quite attentive. As it was steak night (Mondays) we both ordered rump steak. My friend ordered well done which had to be sent back as it was still pink and I ordered medium which was ok. Steak was quite bland and a little flavourless however my steak was extremely tough. I managed to eat half of it, but had to leave the other part as it was just impossible to cut. I think I must have been unlucky as my friends steak was quite tender. We mentioned it to the waitress who said she would speak to the manager. When we came to pay, we asked whether she had spoken to the manager to which she replied yes and there was nothing she could do. We paid and left but would not return for another steak anytime soon.

Nice outlook and dining area and first class service but the food was not the best with one of our party having a lamb joint that was almost raw in the middle and a pig in blanket on another meal hardly cooked.We should have complained at the time but we let it go. .

All our food was great particularly the roast dinners. The only slight thing was the dessert and bill took a while to arrive.

5 of us visited The Swan for dinner on Saturday night. Everyone was very happy with their meal and thoroughly enjoyed both their main meals and desserts. We have visited this pub many times over the years and have never been disappointed.

This really is the best place to go in worcestershire! Great food, reasonable prices and lovely restaurant. Staff always very friendly and helpful. The special touches they provide make it extra special… We had an anniversary dinner and they set the table with a celebratory plaque and bottle of Prosecco/ my partner proposed at the restaurant and the staff went above and beyond to make the occasion extra special…. Fantastic *****

Lovely food would have bdn nice to been made aware we could not use our Nhs discount when we asked for the bill we had no ctkue until the bill was presented with no discount especially as i had been asked to produce my Id

Excellent service front of house welcoming we were seated and served promptly despite the busy evening. The food arrived in atimely manner was hot and good quality.Staff were helpful and attentive.
