I had the fish and chips. The fish was very dry and slightly burnt. The table service was really bad, so wrong took off the service charge considering we had to go to the bar and order, when we were told they would come to us.

A busy, bustling pub with a great location just off the M5! Went for lunch for a business meeting and found a gem with nice access from Worcestershire Parkway, road and lovely food. Would really recommend booking as was busy, even on a mid-week lunchtime, but well worth it!

I’m really disappointed as this restaurant is usually a favorite for our family with kids. We came in today and were seated at a table, but unfortunately, we were never served. We had to go up to the bar for all our drinks and food orders. Additionally, we were declined the blue light discount because it doesn't apply on Sundays. However, the website clearly states that the discount is available on Sundays from 12 PM to 6 PM. We also noticed a service charge of 10%, despite the lack of service we received. While we are willing to pay this charge, it has made us consider other restaurants in the future, as sometimes it's the little things that matter.

Really disappointed. The food used to be so good here but this last meal was really disappointing. The pizza had no flavour except for tomato. They only use bland tomato paste as the pizza sauce so had zero flavour. Pizza suave should have garlic, oregano etc… it wasn’t nice at all. The smash burgers tasted weird, the table next to us said the same. Almost gamey and pink inside. Not like a push burger should taste at all. It also took 20 minutes for pudding to come but at least that was the best part. Won’t be coming back here anytime soon.

Met friend for brunch. Not busy but had to wait to be seated. Hot drinks ordered and came promptly but tea had not been made with boiling water! Poached eggs were not runny, no butter on toast and a very small amount of avocado for the £2 extra charge. We were not approached by staff again and had to call a waitress to order more drinks. Table was not cleared when drinks arrived. Not good value for money and service could have been better.

Regular visitoirs to the Swan at Whittington and this was as good as usual. The place is a nice gentle place for a quiet lunch with friends. Staff as alwqys were kind and pleasant. Food was good although we both had the Caesar Salad and it was a bit 'thrown together' - the look of the food was maybe not to the usual high standards but we saw the food brought to tables either side of us and it looked fantastic!

This was our 3rd time recently visiting the Swan. Each visit we have been rushed out at the end of the evening . At Christmas we chose to have a works party the lights were turned off on us & we all still had drinks this was before before 11Pm. yesturday we were informed at 21.40 they were closing at 22.00hrs . It makes the evening feel rushed. It’s a shame as the Swan pub has a lovely ambiance but no more a welcome feeling !

We have been visiting the Swan at Whittington regularly for about 8 years, but in the past year or so it has gone downhill, very noticeably. The menu used to be good quality, but now, it's just poor. The quality of the food has got worse and the menu choice is very limited. For example, they've replaced roast pork on the Sunday lunch menu with pork belly. Pork belly is great during the week, but not a traditional Sunday roast. Generally speaking the male staff are quite courteous and helpful, but the young female staff tend to be either grumpy or disinterested. They don't seem to be able to engage with customers and, yet here they are working in hospitality. I put this down to lack of training and of management not instilling an ethos of good hospitality amongst their staff. Also, they now appear to have a high turnover of staff meaning lack of continuity. The owner / Manager is rarely to be seen and he has made changes to the layout in one area in particular that doesn't seem to have gone down well. In effect, you're now sitting incredibly close to the people at the next table. It's never been the most welcoming of pubs, but any sign of a friendly welcome these days is sadly gone. Such a shame. https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowUserReviews-g1933214-d1723836-r992759649-The_Swan_at_Whittington-Whittington_Worcestershire_England.html#

My meal last night was terrible. I ordered steak & frites which took 40 mins to arrive & then looked like someone had thrown the chips on the plate & just plonked the steak on top. The steak was very chewy & I only ate half. I felt that £21 was very expensive for what I got. I will not be ordering this again & I might not return. The last meal I had was good with the sausage & mash but this was just awful.

We met our son here for dinner as it’s close to Worcester Parkway station. A nice large dining pub, but one that still feels like a pub, not a restaurant. The food was excellent - good portions, nicely cooked, with all the pub favourites. Steak and Ale pie came with a tasty gravy and smooth potato mash. Beer also good. It’s not cheap, but worth it if you are looking for a well-cooked, pub meal in a nice place. Also easy to book with the online booking system.

So disappointed. Waited over an hr for 2 kids meals, Sunday roast and a fish pie. Raised concern after over an hr of no food to be met with attitude and shrugs. Ms attitude continued to get drinks order wrong but still charged us for their mistake. 20 mins to get drinks. When food finally arrived at our table it was poor. Little cheese on pizza or pasta, my fish pie was merely cheesy mash with 2 tiny pieces of salmon. Husbands birthday roast was luke warm. We ate less than half. Children were hungry still so we exited as soon as we could. Insult to injury, they added on a hefty service charge without asking us. A ruined birthday meal. We've had good experiences in past yrs but it is unrecognisable on food and service from those visits. I should have read recent reviews which allign to our experience. Won't be returning.

We popped in on a work day lunchtime and were able to sit anywhere, there was a mix of people out to lunch to catch up, and professionals working away at laptops or on video calls, but with plenty of seating it was easy to find a a seat where we weren't in anyones way. The menu was varied and after ordering at the bar, the service was quick. The food was great, you could tell it was done with care, and the Ingredients were fresh, I opted for the ham, egg and chips, The ham was proper, thick cut slices of gammon, the chips were crisp and the eggs a fabulous orange yolk. Next time we will definitely plan for a proper meal, not just a quick lunch, to really take advantage of the full menu! (Though I am tempted to take my laptop and make it a regular work spot!)

Have used The Swan a couple of times before. Its a shame that its deserved success may lead to grumbles. The car park was packed at 13.00, I had the last space......against a hedge. The road has restricted parking and becomes a jungle close to when a local school closes for the day with parents picking up little Johnny and Mary in their SUV's. But I'm a repeat cust, albeit intermittent, so accept the parking issue. The Swan just can't provide more spaces. I was welcomed by a lovely assistant who told me where my table was and handed menu's. Unfortunately my table for 2 didn't exist so my guest and I split a table of 4 and sat down. We were quickly followed by another assistant who apologised that she hadn't prepared the Conservatory seating area properly. Hey-ho. We waited to order drinks.......and food. Not much happening there so I went to the bar where it became obvious you ordered at the bar. If only I'd been told from the outset. Food didn't take long. Generous, well presented and very well cooked.......why I came here in the first place. I went to the bar after my mains to order a dessert. A quarter of an hour later I asked again 'cos it was obvious I'd been forgotten. Fulsome apologies and the dessert was wiped from the bill. Generous again. Overall the price was fair, although I was asked to confirm a service charge of a few pounds. Well, I'd been excused the £8 dessert price so why not agree to the service charge. Thing is, apart from having meals brought to the table there was no other service provided to me and can only assume a day is coming when you simply buy a pint at the bar and the assistant asks you to pay, say 50p, for having been drawn that pint in the first place. Bit cynical of me but so is the pressure option of paying a tip when its already been added to the bill. The Swan offers great food and value for money but there's lots of little fluffy bits around the edges that results in me just being that intermittent customer.

Come here many times, unfortunately things have taken a downturn recently. Breakfast is now 1 of each item, rather than 2 as it is in most establishments. This pushes you towards adding the items you’d usually expect so a breakfast with 2 bacon is £14 not £12 this would be OK if it was really good. Sadly it isn’t, food came out missing the added items making The Swans standard breakfast £16. Upon flagging this up I was greeted with attitude from the staff. Plate was then taken away left under a hot lamp on the pass, brought back out with the correct items. But unfortunately everything else was then dried out or overdone (beans with a skim, rock hard fried egg, overdone black pudding, bacon like pork scratchings and burnt sausages).

After numerous good visits to The Swan for family breakfasts etc for the last 6 years we were very disappointed. 8 breakfasts ordered-2 were wrong and sent back-waitress didn’t seem pleased that we sent back. Came back out correctly but one was spoilt and barely eaten. Quality and quantity gone down since last visit with only one sausage and one rasher of bacon on the full breakfast-an extra £4 to add another of each x2. Kid’s menu very limited-pancakes removed and full breakfast only toast, sausage, beans and scrambled eggs-no choice of eggs on any breakfast. Refused to pay for one adult full breakfast which was removed from bill but not the extra £4.00. Very unlike us but we also took off the gratuity. What has changed? - This poor breakfast has cost you one full meal cost, extra coffees after breakfast as we just wanted to leave and also cancelled our booking for 9 people for breakfast on New Year’s Eve. Sad as we have always had good food, good service and considered the food as good value for money in the past. Wish we had read the other recent poor reviews before we went today. We won’t go back now.

As a long time visitor to The Swan, we always enjoy our visits for food and drinks. However we ate in the front conservatory today which was noisy with a large group with children. I am not so sure about the new layout, it looks lovely but is impractical, I couldn't get past the group of people as their chairs were in the walkway and I couldn't escape noise. It didn't feel very private. Then halfway through the meal another family with 2 small children arrived to our right. Again no privacy to chat! There were also a lot of dogs barking in the bar, not the relaxing meal we were after. I appreciate it's always going to be busy on a Sunday afternoon but I will not want to eat in the front conservatory again!

An awful experience. Having previously enjoyed good meals at the Swan, something has changed. A roast chicken meal was very unpleasant. Meat tough and tasteless, roast potatoes undercooked, parsnips and carrots burnt. Desert was perfect, but it would be difficult to spoil ice cream made by an outside firm. There was no point in complaining, because when cooking standards have dropped this far, a replacement tasty meal would not have been possible. The best way is never to be a customer again. The prawn cocktail was the worst I have ever had a bit of lettuce and a cherry tomato topped off with small tasteless tough prawns which were extremely cold so straight out of the freezer and run under a tap to defrost them hence the very watery pink tasteless dressing we asked for cutlery to eat it and were given a knife and fork not easy to eat with as it was served in a glass. The main courses were very salty three had turkey one had lamb shank which was not very warm but plate was hot and another had seafood medley very salty and mainly potatoes underneath the sea bass bulking out the dish. Horrible pudding cherry meringue and cream came as a big dollop of purple all mixed up together. No customer care by the staff a very disappointed group of ladies we will not be returning. Throughly disappointed with my last visit (11 Dec 24). I have been several times in the past, and each time I come away thinking that it's definitely style over substance. But I still find I end up going back as it seems to be the place groups of people like to go. After yesterday's visit, I won't be back. We went in a party of 14 and pre-ordered our food from the festive menu. After being seated, we were told that the food would take 45mins to come out even though we had pre-ordered. It actually took over an hour in the end. I ordered a festive burger. There was the smallest amount of turkey in the bap, no brie, and a huge disc of stuffing that totally dominated the meal. The dessert wasn't pleasant either. There wasn't any atmosphere, no signs, christmas trimmings on the table, or any real festive cheer.

Been before without any problem, however this time waited over an hour for a simple lunch to arrive despite having booked the table and arrived early . Was told there was a slight delay but no further updates for over 50 minutes. Eventually went to ask when lunch was likely to arrive. Disappointed

We were given the Christmas special menu then told when we were about to order there was no Turkey, brisket or sprouts! So why give us the Christmas specials! Because that was now out! Ordered adapted loaded fries a pig in blanket shared between 3 was not great, Service was very slow, The first time I’d been out and wish I’d ordered the salad.

Food was fantastic, staff were knowledgeable and friendly. Lovely country pub atmosphere, especially nice this time of year with tasteful Christmas decs. Only criticism is carpark is a little cramped, but not a deal breaker.

Lovely food & good service. Dropped a star as the Christmas menu didn't have Christmas pudding - very disappointing and incredibly surprising for a Christmas menu! We didn't order puddings because of this.

This booking was for a group of 5 women. We all found it perfect for our needs. Great location as we were coming from different directions. We enjoyed the fact that it was busy and provided a very chrismassy atmosphere. We had a late arriver but were in no way rushed. It was all very laid back. Good food. Polite and professional staff. We all really enjoyed our afternoon. Would I recommend it, definitely. I will be back.

Food was lovely however, service was below par. No one came to ask if we would like anything after we had eaten mains. When we asked for coffees at 8.45pm we were told the coffee machine was turned off.

The food and service was generally good but automatically adding 10% service I personally find unacceptable. I would have given a small tip but not necessarily 10%. The service was not that exceptional.

A genuinely friendly reception from the landlord and staff, followed by a delicious meal. A very long journey interrupted by bad weather was turned into a welcomed extension of our holiday, by the warm and generous attitude of the landlord and staff at the The Bell Hotel. There was an inviting and friendly feel in the bar (the piano didn't stop playing as you entered)lol. Stay here it's lovely. Eat drink and be happy. Thanks guys 🙋

We meet our friends here on Sunday 7th of July 2024 for a traditional Sunday Lunch. We were not disappointed. The service from the team was fantastic and the food was great. I had a beef roast which can be hit and miss wherever you go, and it was cooked to perfection. Nice dollop of gravy and Puds were lovely. Well presented food.
