16 of us enjoyed great food and perfect service. Sue and her new team at the Swan gave us half the pub and the best Christmas meal together that I can remember, with menu choices that catered well for all of us.

This pub is under new management, so best ignore the old reviews. Stopped here for lunch today to be greeted by friendly landlords and good beer. They serve typical pub grub - not fancy food but good portions and reasonably priced. Apparently the Sunday Roast is proving popular. They deserve to do well.

Well this pub is somewhat incredible, incredibly awful. The stench of dogs - the four large overbearing ones that run to you as you enter - is something else. If you have any reservations about large dogs, this is something I'd consider before entering. This place is grim and the visit was a mistake. The gaudy music machine, coin operated games, very bright lights over the pool table, loud music and - did I mention the stench of the place, the carpet and seats? Dogs toys strewn around the floor. Spectacularly awful establishment. Never, never again. Ever.

I have lived in Edenbridge for 8 years and I have never been to the Swan, so whilst out on my daily walk I decided to pop in for a quick pint! The staff and management team were lovely, friendly and very welcoming. I ended staying for 2 more pints and some food, Burger and Chips, which was really nice and excellent value! I will definitely return again for another pint!

We visited here last month with friends for drinks to be very disappointed at how unwelcoming and rude the landlady was. The service received was terrible, and there was an awful smell of cigarette smoke. The pub as a whole looked like it needed a good clean which is a shame as we were hoping to stay for food. The toilets had broken seats and overall disappointing to visit what could be a lovely pub. I wouldnt go back and i wouldnt recommend it being a place worth visiting. However the other pub the old eden is much nicer and i would definitely visit there when im in the area again.

Walked here from Woldingham and hoped for some real ale and something to eat. Neither were available and we sat with a bag of crisps and faced a big screen showing Sky sports. Things went downhill from there as the landlady turned off the sound to the TV, put on the juke box with some loud heavy metal and then sat behind us listening to something else at top volume on her phone. We took the hint and left. I’m not saying this was a terrible experience just disappointing.

Had a lovely time. Brought my lady and male friend. Excitement was apparent and we all had a genuine good time. We witnessed honest tomfoolery at its finest which cemented our love for Edenbridge, Kent. Bar staff were amazing and it was an honest and lovely boozer

and it was alright It had potatoe and meat in it. Also had a bit of gravy which is nice. I also had vegetables which was healthy. I don't really like vegetables so I ususally put them in my handbag and take them home for the goldfish.

Driven by here many times and were looking for a lunch stop. From the photo above you would think it was lovely - no, The pub looks unloved and in need of a good scrub. We did order some food and ate it but I can't even made a comment about it. No, will not be going back. First impressions are so important!!

First visit (and last) . 3 of us early for a meeting so popped in here for lunch. Only us in here (apart from a gambler on slots). We waited 45 mins for our food because it was being “freshly cooked”. One of us had a meat pie which was ok. One had an omelette which was passable and I had a disgusting burger. The meat was awful and I could have broken a window with the bun. The chips were like greasy bullets. 3 x soft drinks and £38 bill. The worst thing was the toilet (gents) filthy and the whole pub was generally grubby and dusty. I believe there was a kitchen fire recently so I hope that’s all clean and new.

I am a pub landlord based in Cornwall whom recently visited my mother who lives in Kent. I am always interested in visiting other pubs. On arriving at The Swan I was greeted by a very friendly and cheerful barmaid who made me most welcome. The Carling lager tasted very fresh and was served in glasses which were clearly well renovated (cleaned regularly). There was a good hardcore of regulars in the bar whom had clearly done a good day's work. I thought that one of them rather overused the "F" word but as an experienced operator in the trade I know that there is often a balance to be achieved. Good outside areas well presented. Very much a traditional pub without any yuppie trimmings. In an age of pub closures and general apathy it is crucial that pubs like The Swan continue operating. Keep Going!!!!!

I have been here on various occasions as it is my local pub. The landladys Jacky and Suzie work really hard to try to bring the pub back to being a "proper pub" with a pub grub menu and live music most weekends. I have read the other reviews on here and find them to be a bit unfair, with people commenting on issues that they know nothing about.

Local pub with different judgements, Outside the centre, on the corner of B 2026 and Swan Lane. Open terrace on the frontside. Poor furniture outside and inside. We've got the experience to watch a selling of drugs to youngsters, who were sitting in the pavement. Low-class clentele. Low prices on the menucard (limited choices), but the portions are accordingly small. This pub is not my favousite, but everyone to his taste !

I've eaten in this pub in the past but not for a couple of years. Yesterday I found myself in need of a dog friendly pub for lunch with my daughter and 2 grandchildren (one in a high chair). I rang ahead and checked they were happy to have a dog which they confirmed. As expected because we had the dog with us we needed to eat in the bar area but this wasn't a problem and as expected. The decor of this place in now very shabby and not inviting. The menu was a typical pub menu and I opted for the homemade soup of the day. When they said it was tomato soup I checked that it was homemade which they confirmed. This was the most disappointing bowl of soup I've ever had. It was creamy in nature and tasted like a watery version of one that comes out of a can. My daughter tasted it and said it seemed more like a packet soup mix to her. Maybe that's their version of 'homemade' but it's not what I was expecting. It was served with one of those heated up baguettes that are just doughy inside. The children opted for a fish finger sandwich and these fish fingers had been deep fried and over cooked. The service was poor with us having to ask a couple of times for the high chair to be brought to our table and then for drinks to be served. The only redeeming thing was the fact that I was able to have the dog with me but I would never use this pub again unless they completely change their customer skills and the chef.

If you are looking for somewhere for a hot tasty , well cooked and satisfying Sunday lunch then you should head towards the swan in edenbridge and when you arrive there DO NOT STOP , CARRY ON DRIVING AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE ! unless of course you are looking for somewhere where you can sample tasteless roast beef cooked to the texture of shoe leather , accompanied by undercooked rock hard deep fried potatoes ,a tasteless mush of broccoli and cauliflower in an unidentifiable wallpaper paste like sauce, a delightful medley of frozen then stewed mixed vegetables all swimming in a pool of brownish dish water ! The quality of the ingredients and the cooking was beautifully enhanced by it being served stone cold , incredibly even after it being microwaved to heat it up the potatoes were still not cooked enough to be edible and could only really be suitable to be used as missiles to throw at the incompetent "chef" !

I've been to the swan a few times, the beer is averagely kept, and the food represents the price. You can get a decent plate of food for around £6 to £9. It has a massive garden which in the warmer months is great for the kids to run around. Service is ok. While it is not a pub I would rave about, I will go back.

When we were leaving we all said goodbye and she didn't reply ,she was leaning on the counter with her head on it. Doubt we will be back .it used to be a friendly pub.

We have eaten here once before but the Sunday Lunch was one to remember. The pub is very much a local, the bar staff friendly and welcoming. We did book in advance along with the rest of the tables which were all full. The choice of meat was amazing with and endless fresh supply. The vegetable choice an unbelievable 9 different vegetables! Lovely homemade Yorkshire puddings, and gravy so full of flavour it was amazing. Hubby had a mega roast and had two large slices each of pork, beef, gammon and a large chicken breast quarter ( he is a big eater!). We had two desserts which were ok but not quite the standard of the roast. With drinks, coffee etc the bill was under £40.00 for us both amazing. We will be returning.

Our experience of this pub/restaurant confirms the old adage: you get what you pay for. The food was acceptable but the presentation was awful. Our starters came without any trimmings, salad or garnish and the main course was presented in the same fashion. The staff were pleasant enough but they themselves could have looked a little more presentable. It was a Saturday night and bells should have rung when we saw that the car park was virtually empty with very few people in the bar and eating area and with no bitter beer available as they had 'run out of gas. It's cheap and cheerful and ideal if you just want something to keep you going but not the place for a special night out.

We been to The Swan on a few occassions and have always thought it value for money and could not be bettered! But they have. Just tried their new monday club menu. £8.45 for two courses and 2 for 1 desserts £4.25. Not smaller portions as expected but the usual size! Great value and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. We will be using this as a regular Monday venue in the future. The music has always been one of the main reasons for our visiting, good standards from 50s & 60s none of this thumping noise you get in so many other pubs.

We visited this pub on a Wednesday lunchtime in October on our way to Heaver Castle. It was surprisingly busy, with a wide age range of customers, including a number of senior citizens (who qualify for a £1.00 discount on main courses). The pub was tastefully decorated, and the beams in the bar had a large number of splendid copper utensils. There were 3 real ales, at reasonable prices, and the food was well cooked, and the portions were good. 2 beers, a coffee, and 3 main courses came to £24. There was discreet background music, and as it was country pop, just spot on.

We have been here a number of times and it gets pretty booked up on a Sunday lunchtime. There are sometimes some spare tables in the bar area and if the weather is fine the garden is ok. The food on the carvery is plentiful and varied, the only thing I'm not keen on is the mash potato (always seems a bit gluey to me) but other than that a good value meal if you don't fancy cooking.

I had a couple of hours to kill while on business in Sevenoaks, and fancied an all day breakfast. I googled and found this little place off the beaten track (didn't want to pay for parking!). Really tasty full English breakfast and a good cup of coffee, and ever so great value at £8.00. Maybe not the greatest venue, but definitely worth it for the food.

I’ve been going to this cafe on and off for 10 years. I have to say my experience has gone downhill since Covid. My recent visit has been very disappointing . I ordered a Spinach and Mushroom Quiche with salads. First of all, the Quiche was still frozen in the middle. Secondly, I didn’t even have time to argue because my daughter has been stung by a wasp. Totally understood this is normal in warm weather but the Cafe’s reaction has been shocking. I went to the counter to ask for some ice. It took at least 5 mins for the waiter to get it despite I can see a bag of ice lying on the table with 1 waitress standing next to it chatting to another lady. I asked can someone just give me the ice as my daughter is crying in pain. I was told someone has gone to get first aid and they can’t “just give me the ice”. After another 5 mins, the first aid has finally showed up. After asking what happened, his words are: oh…..I’m afraid there is not much I can do. I said can you grab me some ice please? It is at that point we finally got the ice!!! I washed my daughter’s wound with some soapy water after a quick google on what to do. I’m not a fully qualified first aid by no means. The cafe has an outside sitting area and wasp sting would be very common. Pleas train your staff on what to do or get some wasps trap like Polhill did. Very disappointing and I would have to end my visit after 10 years. Service standard has gone down too. Most of them look like they don’t want to work there and have a terrible attitude.

My partner & I visited this gorgeously quaint pub for the first time a week ago for lunch with our daughters as we wanted to enjoy a family meal together before visiting Hever Castle. The service was very good and the food was delicious. However the experience was spoilt by a family of four adults and their four young children, who were sitting behind us, who were not well behaved (I.e. the children were ‘allowed’ to continue shouting despite being told not to and worse of all one Dad cleaned his son’s face after their meal whilst the child stood on the furniture)! Their behaviour as a family showed a lack of respect for everyone else at the pub, especially the staff. Who lets their children stand on someone else’s furniture, let alone with dirty shoes on?! We will return but at a different time when hopefully badly behaved young children wont be in attendance.
