Fantastic meal for two. We shared two of the nibbles to start - Korean belly pork bites and fried jalapeño. Both delicious! Mains were tasty and such a generous portion. Would definitely return and recommend

We were on holiday and staying in the village. Staff were friendly and attentive and we had a great meal - all beautifully cooked. Lamb shanks, Moqueca (fish stew), veggie burger and boar burger. We all had ice cream for dessert and they had an unusual range of flavours that did not disappoint. Highly recommend a visit

As soon as we walked through the door we were given a lovely smile from Katie who showed us to our table. The pub was almost full early on a Tuesday evening with people eating - a good sign! An interesting menu of pub classics plus really good variation. I really enjoyed my Korean Belly Pork starter. They also had a really good selection of Yorkshire beers. Loved it!

Luckily this is our local and I always take for granted how excellent the food is and how good the staff are at accommodating and looking after us but I had to post a review following our last visit for Sunday lunch. The food was absolutely fab. Most of us had the lamb Henry with fish and chips for the kids and it was so good I can’t stop thinking about it! A great village pub, with friendly staff, locals and a really good quality menu with regular specials. Highly recommend!

Called an hour before to see if there was a free table for 2 adults and a toddler and luckily they’d had a cancellation. The Sunday dinner (we all had roast beef) was hands-down the best I’ve had in a long time. Everything was cooked to perfection and extra gravy was no problem. Drinks were lovely too; they obviously look after their cellars well. The service was lovely and nothing was too much trouble without being overbearing. Feel like we’ve found a gem - looking forward to visiting again soon.

My partner and stopped in for lunch today half way through a circular walk Ilkley to Addingham. The food was really excellent. The fish in particular was obviously really fresh and cooked perfectly. Secondly the portion sizes are amazing! We're both really big eaters and still left stuffed. The Brazilian fish stew starter was the size of a main!Eat out to help out is obviously a huge perk but even without it, it would've felt like fantastic value. The staff were also lovely and efficent despite it being busy. Will definately return next time we're down this way.

We found this place by luck after walking Simon’s Seat and deciding we were too tired to cook. We managed to book a table online whilst driving over. All COVID measures were in place - hand sanitiser on the doors the tables were well spaced and everything was brought to us sanitised. Our party included a vegetarian, a dairy allergy and a gluten allergy, we all felt we were very well catered for. I was so excited to find that my steak came with Gluten Free onion rings. Rang for a 5pm table but food service didn’t start until 6pm! Chef agreed to start early....very much appreciated as it was a birthday meal (they didn’t know that). When the food arrived it was AMAZING! Braised Chirizo in red wine to start and Lamb cutlets, which were cooked to perfection! Family Sunday lunch: the Wainwright’s was absolutely outstanding, indeed some of the best beer I have ever had. Two roast beefs and a fish pie where all excellent, although the beef, just slightly pink in places, could have been a tad rarer for me. That though was the only minor criticism and not enough to lose a justifiably high rating. A glass of young Merlot was a good pairing for the beef. Service was outstanding throughout and there is something very special about this cosy place’s ambience. It remains one of my favourite pubs.

Surpasses the high expectations raised by a raft of positive reviews on trip advisor. Don't be put off by the incredibly gloomy car park and a bit particularly inspiring exterior; this place is a genuine hidden gem. Can only echo what other reviewers have said about the incredible value for money here on what is essentially true gastropub quality. Lots of locally sourced specials, genuinely home cooked detailing. For example the black garlic aioli which accompanied our sausage trio was sublime; silken textured and a flavour perfectly balanced between smoky, garlicky and with just the gentlest hint of acidity to cut through the richness. Would have happily devoured a vat of it. The lamb's liver we had was meltingly tender and delicately flavoursome; accompanied by creamy fresh mashed potatoes, nicely cooked cabbage, a tangle of tasty caramelised onions and a deeply tweet subtly flavoured jus. Enough of the jus to enjoy with all the components of the meal too; no token smears or tiny blobs of sauce here. Our trio of differently flavored artisan sausages was equally delightful, accompanied by fries and a nicely prepped and dressed salad, mercifully not a pea shoot in sight. We also had a generously sized portion of the tastiest and most nicely cooked onion rings we've had in a very long time. Sometimes these apparently simple things are the hardest to get right and oh boy were they on point here. For dessert we took advantage of the incredibly fairly priced local ice cream selection at £1.25 a scoop; enjoying salted licorice, cherry crush, vanilla and a beautifully crafted ginger flavour. Our drinks were equally well served and by the most knowledgable and truly hospitable barman/server any establishment could hope to employ. Dan. I salute and sincerely thank you for making my husband's landmark birthday a really special occasion. We didn't tell Dan it was my husband's birthday let alone a special one. Dan is just a genuinely hospitable, gently enthusiastic and unobtrusively genial host. If other hostelries and eateries could clone Dan, they would be onto a very good thing. He truly exemplifies all that excellent customer service can be. He came out from behind the bar when we entered, rather lost and adrift and not really knowing where to go or sit or whether all tables were reserved etc as we couldn't get close to the tiny bar to ask. A couple of people at the bar and that's a full bar! This place is small but perfectly formed; a truly quintessential English pub with fireside, an adorable side snug bar with original settle seating and low key unpretentious styling. Dan has that rare but happy knack of putting customers at ease and blending the needs of locals and visitors alike to produce a really welcoming ambience. Will we be back? For sure! Already looking at the Christmas menu and planning ahead even though we live about five hours away! And the value for money prices mean that we could if we stayed locally actually afford to eat here throughout our stay. Bravo to the owners of this place for having the vision and determination to focus on the things that matter; great locally sourced home cooked food, great prices and amazing service. Top marks.

My wife then had the traditional gammon, egg and chips which she declared "excellent" while I had the home-made chicken Kiev which was first rate. Visited on a Sunday afternoon, didn’t book but there were tables free. Was relatively busy, families and couples. Seemed a bit chaotic/messy but I just assumed it was a family type place so was expecting that kind of menu. Found the food to be quite overpriced for a bit of a chaotic/rustic environment. Partner ordered one of the specials which was herby sausage and mash, it came and the mash had so much horseradish in it I would’ve been unable to eat it! The menu didn’t advertise the mash as horseradish so it seemed a bit obscure to put such a harsh flavour in without advertising as such. £12.50 for bangers and mash which wasn’t amazing quality or quantity seemed steep. Waitresses were very busy so not much attention to the customer so just ate, paid and left. I guess it just feels like quite a high price to pay for not a lot of service?

Just returned from a lunch for four. We all had the Sunday lunch roast beef. My second pint was just slightly flat. That was the only possible criticism of the meal at the price. Everything else was absolutely spot on. The beef, served pink, was outstanding. It is also very civilised to order drinks at the bar when one arrives and have them brought to the table. Landlords and tenants alike should descend on this place to learn how things are done properly. As an aside, the waitress, or possibly, landlady, referred to our preprandial packet of pork scratchings as an ‘amuse bouche’, which I found, er, amusing. You are in very safe hands here!

Found this place on TripAdvisor after deciding to eat on our way home from Bolton Abbey. The Swan has great reviews and I now know why. Very friendly and accommodated our pooches. We are non meat eaters and the options were fab. Had a gorgeous smoked haddock gratin and Broadhead and spinach burger, both equally delicious. Great parking at the back and plenty of space inside and out. Would highly recommend and it might become our regular stop after Burnsall visits. Thank you to the lovely team at The Swan.

Went to the Swan on Sunday early evening, had ice cold lager and ordered the fish chips and peas with tartare sauce, how refreshing to have all of the ingredients freshly cooked. All food was prepared on site(no frozen chips here) most impressed, not particularly low priced but excellent , even the sauce was made on premises. Friendly staff who were understanding of my husbands needs. This is a typical village pub serving good food, dogs are welcome which is a plus point in this part of the world.

Dined at lunchtime on Friday with a friend. The welcome was warm and friendly, and although not terribly busy the atmosphere felt comfortable. We ordered sea bass and the Moroccan Chicken, both were tasty and nicely served. The service was excellent throughout the afternoon (lunch turned into a very long lunch). With thanks to the staff.

Loved this place . We came here early one evening with our 2 children. They were friendly and welcoming and brilliant when my daughter tripped over the hearth headlong into the fire grate! The beer was great- I had a pint of well-kept Timothy Taylor. Love their policy of providing child size portions of the main meals on the menu- I can never understand why more places don’t do this rather than forcing thre little ones to have endless sausages and chips..... anyway mine chose sausages and mash which was really good quality with butcher assured sausages which I believe change regularly. My partner had lovely gammon egg and chips, we were both very impressed that they make their own chips from scratch as they do their onion rings which were brilliant. I had steak which was disappointing and the only let down of the whole meal which was a real shame as the cafe de Paris butter it came with was delicious as was the home made mayonnaise. I’d asked for rare and it was def medium to well done probably because it was such a thin cut piece of meat. It didn’t taste of much either.

Stopped off here on a beautiful sunny day, having reserved a table prior to our visit. I think you’ll always have to book as it was well busy.

Lovely little local pub. I was really looking forward to our visit after recommendations from friends. I am a pescatarian and there was not a great deal to choose from for me although the menu is only small which is fine as I always think it is good to specialise in a few great dishes rather than spreading too thin on too many. Starters were lovely, my main was OK but the sea bass was ordercooked and the new potatoes were just that with no butter or seasoning. I don't think the orange salad went with it either. My partner got the sausages and enjoyed his. Where it fell down was the desserts. The orange and cardamom rice pudding was hard and starchy instead of smooth and comforting like you'd expect it to be. There were some large cardamom pods in there too. The prune tart came with ice cream but was cold and hard. We hardly touched them. The evening was rounded off by a large group in their 20's who punctuated all their sentences with the f word (I'm 35, love a good swear but not in a public restaurant) and they were left to do this even with staff popping in and (I presumed) overhearing it.

Hits the right note in having a menu that suits most tastes without getting too fancy. Obviously popular - all tables taken on Saturday when we went - the staff were all very helpful making sure we were comfortable - service was quick and the food really good. Enjoyed the salted liquorice ice cream (not as fancy as it sounds!).

We've been coming to this traditional pub for a while on Friday nights for a beer but, tempted by the menu, decided to come for lunch with a few friends to celebrate my wife's birthday.

Amazing lunch spot for everyone. Really popular, brilliant menu for all things brunch, lunch and sweet treats. Super accommodating staff, varied options for Ve/GF and great choice. We had halloumi/avo wrap, eggs benedict, shak shula and fattoush plus smoothies - all delicious

Long overdue review. Been to Junoon a number of times and each time thought they would get better, however they did not. The shisha was below average, very harsh and did not last longer than 35 minutes. Shame. The staff are friendly and the premises are lovely and there is plenty of seating available. Average costs, would not recommend.

Amazing pub that's was exceptionally friendly and had great cask ales available. Huge outdoor seating area to the rear with overhead cover and heating.
