Fantastic Indian food to accompany a great range of drinks. Pub itself is lovely. 4 star for atmosphere as in fairness it was quiet for a Saturday afternoon IMO. Would definitely return

Thoroughly enjoyed an evening out at The Swan. The food was amazing and the live music was great. My partner is pescatarian and was impressed by the number of creative food options to choose from. We'll be back soon

Checked before ordering that a GF dinner was possible. Advised it was. Dinner ordered. Served not GF. Beware if you have dietary needs! Food wasn't great at all. Toilets were in an appalling state. Either hadn't been cleaned for a long while, or had customers with serious issues! It was warm and quite empty so staff had time to serve quickly - beyond that I can't find anything positive

Highly recommend The Swan to host your event in the function room. It was perfw t for our Summer engagement party and all the staff, especially Matt, went out of their way to accommodate as. Nothing felt as though it was too much to ask and it had a very laid back vibe which was much enjoyed by us and guests. I would return to The Swan for a function in future.

Two nights in a row. Best curry I’ve ever eaten. Superb staff local beers. If you do NOTHING else in Cheltenham, go here. You will not regret it.

Amazing place can't reccomend enough

We had a great time there. It was a baby shower and we had a spare all to ourselves. The food was brilliant. Fresh grated raw@salad, chips, onion bhaji etc etc. Very good time. They played great music.

Mediocre sunday roast 😞 plate was too small for the amount of food on it so made it difficult to eat. Beef was over cooked making it difficult to cut and chew. Yorkshire puddings were overcooked/burnt/dry, and the roast potatoes had no crunch whatsoever, which is strange as id expect them to be just coming out the oven at 12:30 rather than if I were a late arrival who was getting the half cooked/reheated ones later in the day. Overall all it wasn't the worst roast I've had but for £16 I'd expect much better. However, can't fault the staff, the selection of drink options or general atmosphere though. All of that was fine. Would have liked to have tried the Indian food, but only serving roasts on Sundays which I understood is more sensible from a kitchen perspective.

Gorgeous little place with a fantastic beer selection.

We haven’t visited this pub in years & what a lovely surprise it was. All the staff were very welcoming & friendly. Our evening meal was booked by a friend for a group of us including her dog. We all ordered curries and wow, were they good! I can honestly say, they were one of the best curries Ive ever had in a restaurant. I’d like to say a big Thank you to the Chef & their team.

Lovely pub and for once a place with excellent mellow lighting. Therefore creating a nice relaxed atmosphere. A good range of beers, most of which I'd never heard of. As its a curry house it of course has an overpowering smell. So if curry isn't your thing, I'd probably give it a miss.

Today, for the first time I ordered Sunday Roast Beef through Deliveroo. The food was really good and of very high quality, the beef was very nice and tender and the portion was quite generous. It was delivered real fast so the food was still hot. I am very happy with the quality of the food, the price and the great service. Will certainly be ordering from them again and will recommend to friends and family.

Really cosy pub, first time we've visited. The food was excellent and we got there early enough to take advantage of the Early Bird menu which made a big difference. Stayed after dinner for a glass of wine and a fame of Scrabble which was lovely.

The Swan is a great pub and the staff are friendly and work well together. Popped there for Sunday lunch. The food needed to be hotter it was only warm. The Yorkshire puddings were hard and dry. Also families in there with children running around.......

Quite an old pub with public parking out the back. It long so there is a door off the street with the main bar and it keeps on going. Toilets at the back and then there is an outdoor area and then a function room for small parties. Didn't have any food. A variety of ales and larger. I found a beear that was to my taste and service was very friendly and quick.

Large menu with some very tasty options, especially the paneer curry! The portion sizes were quite small though and I did leave feeling hungry. For what we paid, I was expecting something more filling! The atmosphere was also lacking for a Saturday afternoon but I’m not local to the area so it may be that way often…

Not fore rib of beef as advertised but some other chewy poorly cooked cut of beef. Meals were tepid at best - tiny plates, horrible Yorkshire puddings which were burnt. Potatoes that weren’t in any way roasted, more like boiled new potatoes with watery gravy - literally the worst roast dinner I have ever eaten!! Avoid avoid avoid!!

If going by car, there is a public car park behind the pub' but it is £3.40 for 1-2 hours. We chose this because you can not normally take your dog into an Indian restaurant, but because this is a pub; serving Indian food, you can. The food style is from Delhi. The ambiance is good.

Keep your music down people live round here if it carries on i will phone the council making complaint have some respect

Nice pub, convenient parking. Atmosphere good. Back room is good for groups. Didn't eat, lots of non- alcoholic drinks.

Amazing and great portion We popped into Cheltenham and decided to have a roast at the swan. The service was exceptional and so was the Sunday roast! 100% going again!

It was a Sunday and honestly worst roast dinner I have ever had!! Boiled beef, awful veg , and gravy granules not even dissolved. The worst 😫😫😫

been visiting this pub for years. Always a good atmosphere. The beer is pricy but it's Deya local beer...don't mind paying 7.00 for a pint...but the only Sauvignon Blanc on offer was £42.00. I'm sorry and I understand businesses are under pressure, but that's just outrageous overpricing. When i turned the bottle of wine down, the bartender said "I don't blame you". Enough said.

The food was excellent, great service. The music was a little too loud but overall a great place to chat and dine.

I spent all day being mostly unimpressed by Cheltenham. Walked into this place just because it was there and was really impressed with the decor and the atmosphere. Loved the beer garden out the back too. We had planned to eat somewhere else, but after getting a wif of the Indian aromas coming out of the kitchen we decided to eat there. The food was really top quality and well priced too!

A good range of tasty Indian food, well presented and served. Personally I'd prefer the menu to also include other foods, but there is clearly great expertise in cooking Indian food here.

Great service, smiley staff which makes such a difference, we then went and sat down and there were loads of games to play, so had a little game of jenga and uno. To top everything off there were free sanitry products in the toilet, which is just such a nice touch. I never review anything but thought id share my appreciation xx

Had some issues previously with a few things but owner and managers all seem to want to help. Good food, albeit small portions, it's very tasty, decent beer selection and nice atmosphere

Had a roast delivered though Deliveroo Was pretty much tasteless , was not fore rib of beef off the bone far too tough for that , potatoes lacked taste and gravy was like water , and on top of that no horse radish which I ordered , woukd of made it a bit tasty Won’t be ordering again !

Fantastic pub. Great choice of beers, lots of seating indoors and outside and surprisingly excellent Indian food. Loved the Fish Pakora and the Samosas, perfect with a pint of Deya Steady Rolling

Amazing pub, brilliant beer selection

Good food, friendly atmosphere and accommodating to different needs. Doesn't accept cash but a sign at the front door tells you this and I believe someone I was with only had cash but didn't seem to be a problem.

The food was amazing. Very tasty, high-quality Indian food at a reasonable price. House white wine was superb. IPA 'Horten hears a brew' also good. Friendly staff and good service. We felt welcome.

Fantastic friendly bar staff from when we first walked in. We were not keen on real ales but the bar man let us try a couple of tasters....obviously liked a couple so ordered a couple of pints......was such a lovely warm ambient place......the smell and look of the food was killing us so we ordered some too....(and a bottle of blush wine haha)...the food was absolutely amazing(and the wine) .....would highly reccomend this place 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Thank you 😃

Very nice Sunday lunch. The Swan has a good selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beers. We'd reserved a table but there were plenty available (it's a surprisingly big place.)

Sunday lunch cold, beef was tough, vegetables were very under cooked and over priced. Beef dinner also came minus the Yorkshire's and when waitress was asked it seemed a huge inconvenience. When the bill came they had slapped a service charge on top. Won't be going back!

I had ordered with The Swan, and since it was not accepted even by the estimated delivery i called them up and they cancelled my order and told me to order again!!! No apologies but just blunt reply!

Although it was quite cold in the pub I enjoyed the food and selection of beers. I've never been here before and was taken with the good value curries and generous portion sizes. Dropped a star because it was so cold that most of us had to keep our coats on.

Good beers. Great staff. Only problem was the "soft furnishings, which were far from soft and comfortable. They really need replacing. I refer to the seats on the right as you enter the pub from the main road. Not a major problem though. Next time we will sit in the more rustic seats. The beers are beautifully kept and are top form. We are meeting friends there tomorrow.

Drinks are a little pricey, but phenomenal food and comfy ambience makes this a great venue. The Swan is now in my top 3 favourite pubs in Cheltenham v

The curries might be nice, but sweet baby Jesus of Nazareth, the Sunday roasts are diabolical! Beef like sawdust, packet gravy, the roast potatoes weren't even peeled. Can't fault the service or the drinks available. But honestly, it was like a school canteen food.

IMO the best curry in Cheltenham. Good selection of well kept beers too. A great alternative to an Indian restaurant. Friendly staff and dog friendly.

A great quirky pub. A great place to spend with friends whilst having a good old pint

This place has a great selection of drinks from the bar, including local craft beers, and an extensive menu of delicious Indian tapas food. Staff were friendly and the food was delicious. Loved the small touches like the board games and softer seating areas to chill out. Recommended as a place to go for a drink with friends, to watch the game, eat good Indian food, or just to watch the world go by.

Had an amazing night tonight, lots of fantastic beers and a fantastic range of Indian street food..from the moment we walked in the ambiance and the smell was something else...one of the busier venues too on a Thursday night. Service was first class and the food was hot, tasty and so moreish...recommended and looking forward to next time

Underwhelming food, not sure what we were eating was ‘Rib of beef!’ It was so tough to cut, everyone on our table struggled to eat it. Roasties weren’t crisp but the rest wasn’t bad. Great beer selection, nice wine and very friendly staff. Nice building too although dodgy lounge music blasting out took away from the atmosphere a bit. Just let down by the food… wanted to try the Indian street food here but now not so sure. Will still be back for a drink, but wouldn’t recommend for a roast.

Great food. Sri Lankan Street food done really well. My favourite was the Goat curry, but there are lots of options including vegetarian. Starters are so good Definitely going back for a third time. Beer is local and excellent. Staff friendly, service prompt.

Fantastic place to eat and drink. My daughter and her partner had the 'back room' for the Saturday afternoon and evening.. they were fed and apparently the food was superb, especially the goat curry. Friendly, helpful staff, and a good range of beers and lagers etc. Nice atmosphere. If you are looking for an event for 20 to 30 people,and would like them fed and watered, in Cheltenham, then look no further. Great work and great cooking chef! Well done.

Nice food, good selection of drinks and great atmosphere. There are many different spots to choose to sit in, be it inside or outside; each has its own feel to it. There are quueter and livlier spots to choose from, both inside and out. It is in a good location just on the edge of town, so good transport options available whilst being close to shops and other pubs/clubs should you wish to move on. The back garden backs onto a main public carpark, handy for those drivers or as a good drop-off/pick-up spot. The masala chips are a huge winner. They do a traditional Sunday roast until 6pm and then revert back to their Indian inspired menu in the evening until 9pm on a Sunday. I didn't inquire about the rest of the week. The facilities were also clean and tidy. All in all, a lovely few hours spent here catching up with friends.

Visited for the first time since before lockdown and was absolutely bowled over by the fantastic curry, the great beer and the really great service. I would go as far as to say it's one of the best goat curry's I've ever had anywhere. The portion sizes were very generous and the price was very reasonable. The Swan clearly employs a really first rate chef, as well as very courteous and helpful bar/serving staff. I will definitely be returning, regularly!

The Swan is a fantastic pub with a regularly updated range of beers and real ales. The food is always incredible too...serving delicious Indian food throughout the week and roasts on a Sunday. They've recently started doing Bloody Mary's on a Sunday too and they are AWESOME!! Special shout out to the staff too who always go above and beyond!

Fabulous!!! We struggled to find a dog friendly pub on our overnight stay in Cheltenham and found this gem of a place. The girl who served us was lovely and went out of her way to help us choose a curry. The goat curry was...

Had two pints and a curry here. Very impressed. Good selection of beers, and curry was fantastic. Bar service was good - helpful and cheery staff (something you rarely get in UK I think). I would come again for sure.
