Having moved fairly close to Morans recentlyIat last got round going to try it with a friend. It was very very busy inside and extremely warm inside so we opted to sit outside. Luckily, the rain held off, otherwise we would’ve got wet from the edge. Despite it being very busy, service didn’t take that long. The food was delicious – a gorgeous mix of flavours and perfectly cooked. I will definitely be coming here again .

The place gets really busy on friday nights, best reserve a table! Food was very good and we will go again!!

We stumbled across the eatery and bar a couple of days ago, how delighted we are! We have just come back for a second visit. Delicious food - Greek platter, orange cake, egg mayo sandwich. Lovely pot of tea, great coffee. Friendly staff, good location. Very happy customers :-)

Good service pub / restaurant in Bath Road. Serve excellent cookies especially the oat and raisin variety. Reasonable prices too!

There was a hideous lady who told my wife and I to go sit somewhere else as she doesn't agree with noisy babies in public places . Completely unprovoked and really nasty. My child is nearly 4 and was fast asleep. She was draped in Holland cooper and rolex (probably fake) . I spoke to the Manager who dealt with it really well and the food and service was great. So the experience was saved but what a ghastly old woman. It was like something out of Roald Dahls the witches.

My second visit in a month after a 30-year hiatus. I love the completely unpretentious atmosphere of this place. Everything about the evening was excellent. I would single out the welcoming staff, the good value menu, the brilliant specials, that I had - the pan-fried plaice on a bed of risotto and spinach and the wonderful and generous portion of rhubarb and custard crumble - and the perfect pint of Gloucester Brewery Cascade and a delicious glass of Malbec. I had a view of the kitchen throughout and was completely impressed with chef's control of the kitchen and the staff working there and the smooth delivery of orders. All seven of us were very satisfied!

It's not a bad location to have a meal. The food is enjoyable, but the service and atmosphere were nothing special.

Went here for a meal for the first time this evening. A lovely lady showed us to a table and we had a pretty pleasant evening with nice food. However, we made the mistake of engaging with the male server who seemed to be going out of his way to be as rude and abrupt as possible - he had an arrogant and dismissive way about him that guaranteed we will never return. We pointed this out to someone else after we had to go to the bar after waiting for 20 minutes for a bill that we requested and he was not going to bother getting for us - but the reaction, whilst polite, was muted and you get the feeling that he’s been there too long and get’s away with murder. Thoroughly unpleasant man.

Welcoming pub / bistro on Bath Road. Service is swift and courteous. Prices are reasonable. Great selection of cakes etc!

I was recommended Morans by a colleague and I’m very thankful he did! We met up with friends here for lunch and the food, standard of service, ambiance and value for money was excellent! I would, will & now can also highly recommend!

This is a brilliant place to go at any time of day, coffee and cake, snack, lunch, dinner. We always meet our friend from Cheltenham here who lives nearby. Great atmosphere and good service. The starters make a lovely lunch dish. The frittarta is superb, so good I walked past the kitchen to tell them how good it was and how is it made! Menu has something for everyone. Highly recommend.

Arrived 4 minutes after opening and placed order. Coffee came promptly but waited 30 minutes for the cooked breakfast and was told that there were many orders when asked the waitress. Would not have stayed if known this was the situation of course you pay when ordering !

An early evening visit, bar staff lovely, restaurant staff lovely. Deep fried Brie parcels for starter and a sirloin with a delicious pepper sauce - delightful. Definitely worth a visit.

I call here for breakfast 2 or 3 times every March when I am going to Cheltenham for the racing. The staff remember me and the service they provide is superb. Coffee, breakfast and cakes are wonderful.

Never disappoints. Great Bistro, good food selection, great cake selection, soft drinks, hot drinks, ales, beers, and lagers, as well as good wines and large selection of spirits, all sprinkled with great atmosphere and an eclectic population

Don't often write reviews but we were so well looked after last night, I felt it deserved recognition. The whole evening was perfect, a lovely table for all the family, genuinely warm and helpful staff and delicious food. So relaxing and enjoyable. A great place to catch up with friends or spend time with family. Comfy sofas to sit on, if you are lucky to get a table where they are. It’s always busy but you still get excellent service. Coffee is good as is the food. Can highly recommend the Cratfish and Avocado wrap. The pickled cucumber that comes with it is delicious. Could eat loads of it. Wish I knew how they made it taste so good.

This is the place for the best cakes in Cheltenham. Awesome Orange Cake and Epic Chocolate Cornflake Cake. A huge choice of cakes, all delicious.

Morans is an independent bar/restaurant at the end of Bath road, a wonderful part of cheltenham full of bars, cafes, restaurants and shops. The decor is fantastic, staff and management are well knowledged , friendly and well trained. There is a good range of wines and beers, the menu is appetising and the food quality is very good. Small outdoor seating area at the front and back and during the daytime, the selection of cakes are absolutely amazing with a nice coffee. This place is a real gem and I just can't keep away

Went here for lunch a few weeks ago - usually Morans is good but this time the service and food was very mediocre. The staff don't appear to be very happy. The food took such a long time to arrive, I had to chase for it twice, after nearly an hour of waiting. We weren't told when ordering that there was any type of delay, and further still, there was no apology for it taking so long. My friend said her lunch was ok but not great, and the chicken skewers were so dry I gave up eating them after the first one. Also at no point during our stay/meal were we asked how it was.

4 of us arrived didn't know what to expect ( first visit ) and wasn't disappointed from start to finished we were served by Lawrence and he made us feel very welcoming nothing was too much trouble great service from him thank you !! I highly recommend the curry lasagna ( sounds strange but works and I must say it was beautiful ) the prices are very reasonable and if u can hold down a pudding after mains try the brownie with the black ice cream delicious can't wait for the next visit

We have been twice first time for a Friday lunch. This was excellent food, an atmosphere were great. The food took a while but not a problem as we enjoyed our wine. Then we went for breakfast. There wasn't many people in but our coffee took about 25 minutes and our breakfast 30 minutes. The food was pretty good, but the wait took the gloss off a little We will return but probably for lunch when we are in the area.

Visited here with my daughter for breakfast before a shopping trip. Arrived at opening, chose the full english and the veggie breakfast, both were excellent, great value too !

Had a fabulous meal as always. Chicken ham and leek pie followed by gorgeous rice pudding and an espresso martini. Jeremy and Dan provided superb service as always. Thank you.

Lovely restaurant/ cafe on Bath Road. The have a good selection of main meals and lighter meals, plus plenty of drinks and cakes. For those looking for a breakfast, they stop at 11.45am. Nice looking interior and staff were excellent.

What a gem. Went for coffee and cake & the coffee was excellent and the quality & choice of homemade cake was exceptionally good. The Jammy Dodger Sponge was soft and creamy, The apple & almond cake was so tasty & the Cinnamon Buns were some of the best I've ever had. Highly recommend for coffee and cake. Going to have to try out the other menu items at some point.

Good new menu, particularly the 'Blackout brownie with black vanilla ice cream' (Halloween inspired?), but PLEASE can you keep your fantastic lemon tart on.

Morgan’s is always our “ go to” venue for a meet up with friends. The food is always, consistently, good. The cakes are especially tempting! However, without going into specifics or picking on any one person, we found that the service was not up to its usual high standards. A couple of us got our order and our two companions had to wait, always awkward! However the food, when it arrived, was very good. My main complaint and the reason I we shall not be returning, is the large number of dogs present. I am severely sight impaired and found it incredibly difficult navigating around them. One was a litter over exuberant running around peoples legs. I love dogs but would not dream of taking my own spaniel into that type of establishment. I struggle to understand why people think that dogs are acceptable everywhere. Many people are actually scared and some are allergic to them. So for us, it is with regret, we shall not be returning.

We arrived without booking and were sited without long wait. Restaurant and bar particularly were busy but service was prompt. Good food. We choose steak and smoked haddock fish cakes as mains and both dishes were tasty. Good price and lovely atmosphere. Recommend.

The food was amazing, and the service was really good. I had the chicken skewers to start, which were most tender. And served with a lovely fresh salad, plus a lovely sauce. Followed by the ribs, these were amazing. Highly recommended. We didn't have a booking, but a table was laid up for us, we waited for not even 5 mins before we sat down. The only thing was that the starters took around 45 minutes to be served to our table. I think this is a pretty long wait for 3 starter's. That's the only thing that stops me from giving the 5 🌟.

It was a bit busy so rather than push my way through, I asked one of the staff behind the front counter if he knew whether there were any free tables. He was very dismissive and told me he didn't work in that area and I'd have to look for myself. He could have been less rude but obviously it's such a popular establishment he felt courtesy to prospective customers wasn't necessary. We left and found somewhere more welcoming! We will not be returning. No stars!

One of my favourite places to eat in Cheltenham. Such a nice atmosphere, good selection of drinks and food. Really good cakes and coffee too! Staff are lovely and very friendly.

I always enjoy going to Moran's. Very pleasant atmosphere. Food is very good...5 star hygiene rating. Pet friendly. On the downside, they could do with getting a few more comfortable sofas 🛋, and the parking is difficult due to the busy Bath Road.

You get what you expect. Good honest tasty food cooked and presented nicely supported by really good service. Every time I have eaten here I haven’t been disappointed.

Best meal that I have had out in ages! I had the curried chicken lasagne and salad. The lasagne was very tasty and the salad was a proper salad not just a few leaves! Nice beer to go with it to (not a pale ale or IPA thank goodness).

Lovely food and coffee. Very noisy. We were able to sit in restaurant which was very kind. This was much quieter.

Visited on a Friday evening. The bar and restaurant was very busy and had a great atmosphere. Booking a table is essential. Food was great and the portion sizes were very generous. Service was a little slow but they were very busy. Would eat here again

Been going here since the 80s and it's still favorite restaurant

Another great find!! Went there for a bite on a Friday evening. Place was jumping and the service was excellent. Actually couldn’t believe how quickly the starters were served. We had a mixture but mainly burgers along with beers and a nice bottle of wine. One thing of note and that was the Little Dinners. Now I love my food but my little wife is not such a goody. This choice of Little Dinners was right up her street and didn´t stretch her tummy! Great idea wish more would offer them.

6 middle aged men all on a night out, the food and atmosphere were great and not too expensive ( bill inflated due to large amountsof drink). Would definitely return.

We had high hopes for this place after hearing such great things. Unfortunately we were left quite disappointed. The food took such a long time to arrive. At no point during our meal or when we were paying were we asked how it was. Honestly, we felt like we were not appreciated. We don't like leaving negative reviews but on this occasion we have no choice. On a more positive note the food was nice and on the occasion we interacted with the staff they were polite. We really hope our issues were a one off and we may try them again soon x

Always great food in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere, only a short walk to the centre of the town. Beautiful, homemade cakes baked fresh every day. Staff are very welcoming and always happy to help. Highly recommended.

Have eaten here numerous times over the years. Unfortunately our latest experience was disappointing. Food was excellent as usual especially the curried chicken lasagne, but our waiter was quite abrupt, bordering on being rude. I told him to include a tip in our final bill....

Visited on a very busy Saturday lunchtime. Place is obviously very popular. Choices on menu were good and had a range of dishes that I had never tried (always good to have a new taste experience!), service was fine and prices, although a little expensive, were in line with the quality of the food that was delivered. Only slight negative was that the chairs and tables were quite close together, giving a noisy environment but I would come back again.

We stopped here for lunch (parking in the nearby Bath Terrace car park) on a recommendation from a friend. My wife is attending Cheltenham hospital daily, so we've tried a lot of places in and around the town, and Moran's is by far the best we've found in terms of food quality, quantity, price and service. It was very busy on a Friday lunchtime, and we found a table past the bar at the rear, which is lighter and with interesting art on the walls. I ordered our food and drinks (including the marvellous Jaipur on draught) at the bar, and 10-15 minutes later our food arrived. We'd ordered two different meals from the Light Bites & Sharing menu, and swapped half way through. My unusual choice of a chicken, coriander and bacon sausage roll (+ chips, salad and home,-made picalilli) was delicious, cooked beautifully with a crisp exterior and moist interior. My wife's plate of nachos was huge, topped with cheese, tomato, peppers, jalapenos (quite hot) and chilli beef (a £2 option), with sour cream, salsa and garlicky guacamole on the side. It was all delicious, fresh and generous portioned. We chatted to our waitress at the end of the meal; she clearly loves working there. We were full and satisfied with the whole experience - all for less than £12 each. Very highly recommended.

Afternoon visit for tea and cake on 13/2. Staff at order point were more keen to put plates away rather than either acknowledge me or take my order; quite unusual for Moran’s! Order was swiftly delivered once placed.

Thank you to the wonderful staff for helping out with my wife’s collapse. Really caring and responsive.. food was great by the way!

Served the Fish Platter. Only gis on the fish was salmon and prawns. Filled out with salad leaves, potato salad and sliced brown bread. No herring. Overpriced. Service disappointing, not welcoming. Won't recommend.

Ate in the restaurant area. I didn't feel welcome on arrival as I hadn't booked. Had the Fish Platter. The only fish on the plate was salmon and prawns. No herring, despite being listed on the menu. (I didn't check till I had eaten most of the dish and wasn't told when ordering, which is a real bug bear of mine). The rest of my dish was filled out with salad leaves, potatoe salad and brown sliced bread. No apology for missing herring. Not worth the price. Disappointed.

Great food at a reasonable price.

Fantastic beer. Enormously busy in the summer so now is a great time to go and try the beer, by the fire.
