The Swan in Hammersmith and Fulham

We had sausage and mash for lunch (clotted cream mash!) delicious. Great food and great service.

Great place for a quick pint (or two) and for quick food, I wouldn’t get anything large here as it’s not the greatest.

We travelled from Preston and was staying close by; we rang ahead to check children would be welcomed after 7pm (we wanted to watch the England v Brazil game). Not only were we reassured that it was very much a ‘family friendly’ pub; they also said they’d book us a table near a screen to ensure we didn’t miss the game. Wonderful customer service; great team; good pub grub and with three children we couldn’t have felt more comfortable. Highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Popped in before Theatre trip and a very nice surprise. Staff were wonderful. Fast service, polite. Great range of drinks on offer. Went upstairs to eat. Good amount of space and choice on the menu. Had the steak and ale pie, mash. Lovely. Thank you 'The Swan'. See you next time we're in Hammersmith

This is a proper old style London pub. I enjoyed the bustling atmosphere, the architecture and decor. Good selection of drinks and decent food. Perfect for a pre-show meal or drink if you're heading to the Apollo

Very good food, good service in a very old building, worth visiting.

Nice little pub straight off the tube or bus. Traditional style,clean and friendly.Good choice of pub food,pies are really nice and the Sunday roast not bad.Tvs can get a bit loud on match days but not a rowdy place.Recommended for a drink and something to eat if your hanging around for train or bus.

Good selection of drinks, didn't have any food, good location from tube station and apollo theatre, toilets are upstairs though.

Only popped in for a quick pint. £5.90 for a pint of 3.8% mediocre cask ale. I thought this was a bit steep even for London. The TT Landlord is £6.30. No wonder people go to Wetherspoon's next door. The pub itself has bags of character, but surely Nicholson's, as a large pub chain, has the buying power to sell beer at more competitive prices.

Poor beer quality when asked to change it as it was very flat was just topped up to give it a head. 1 minute later flat again.

I am a shareholder of this company and have visited many of their establishments throughout the UK. I would certainly revisit all of them apart from this one. The customer service is extremely poor but this is certainly due to the abysmal leadership of Adam the manager. Arrogance, Adam, is not something you should be showing in this industry. Izzy, however, was very good at her role and was very polite. Perhaps the manager should spend some time shadowing her to learn a few things. There is no organisation here with regards to food service. No staff appear to have a clue where prebooked customers are sitting. Also, the mains were brought out before starters were finished. Front of house and kitchen staff need to develop their communication skills. Maybe the running of this establishment is beyond the skills of the current manager.

A great pub, we went in to watch the rugby before heading over the road to a gig at the Apollo. They had a good choice of beers and the prices were reasonable, the staff were great and service was prompt. Someone had even taken trouble to know who was playing at the Apollo and play appropriate music in the pub beforehand.

Wouldnt accept scottish notes - pound sterling.

Lovely pub with great beers on tap and friendly efficient staff. We stopped by here to watch the England Wales rugby game and despite the pub being really busy, the staff served people at the bar really efficiently and you weren’t stood waiting for anytime over a minute, so they were certainly staffed well! The pub itself it nice too, the atmosphere was great. We ordered a couple of portions of chips and a garlic flatbread which we did think was overpriced for what it was which was a shame. However if ever in Hammersmith area again when needing to watch sport, we know where to go!

We had dinner on a Friday evening and the pub was packed but there was a quieter room upstairs which was perfect to have a quiet dinner. Delicious food too!

Actually walked in and then walked out, so frosty was the welcome. Had literally only wanted a pint before heading off (9 pm on a Saturday) but the security on the door was hostile to the point of dark comedy. To end a tirade about exhaling a vape before entering to one of my group; take off hat to another (when sub zero outside) etc. When finally happy, "Welcome". Sheesh. It's not a nightclub. It's a Nicolson's pub that I've visited for 30+ years. (Hence adding a second star). No wonder it was relatively empty and lacking in atmosphere. Yeh, you might want to rethink a visit here. Which is a shame as it was a classic pub. Fortunately plenty of other options in Hammersmith far more worthy of your money.

What a wonderful pub, first visited several years ago and had an amazing night out so made a point of going back when I knew I was gonna be in Hammersmith again. The staff, food and beer were all as good if not better than I remembered. We were greeted at the bar by a young Australian girl called Sarah who let us sample a couple of ales, I definitely recommend the ghost ship. When we went back to order food the gentleman behind the bar recommended the pies, I don't recall his name but he was wearing a fairly loud but stylish shirt. We chose the steak and ale pie and it was just perfect. A young lady called kattalyyn who bought our food out was very attentive and came back to check if everything was ok. We had planned to move on to another pub but had enjoyed ourselves so much we stayed until close.

The swan in Hammersmith is one of my favourite pubs due to the fact that every time I pop in the staff great me with such a warm welcome. The pub is always so clean and tidy and the staff are always quick to serve. The pies are absolutely wonderful and big portion, my favourite one has the be the classic steak and ale pie. Cannot recommend the Swan enough if you are ever in Hammersmith

Abbiamo assaggiato diversi tipi di pie (tortini di pasta frolla ripieni di carne e altro) molto buoni. Poi abbiamo mangiato anche fish and chips un altro piatto con pollo. Anche il locale molto carino, tipico pub inglese, prezzi medio alti in linea con gli altri prezzi di Londra.

Beautiful pub in Hammersmith, but it's a bit noisy when the football is on. It's very expensive. Drinks and food cost a fortune a pint of beer and a gin and tonic 20 pounds???????

We had a long day out and fancied a meal out. The Swan in Hammersmith had a nice appeal to it with a great drink selection where I had a Corona. I also enjoyed a Lentil Pie which was really lovely.

The architecture is very nice and I really like the pies they have!

We are a family of three, were in London for Christmas but no family here to spend it with so we booked here for Christmas lunch. Food was fantastic and great atmosphere with good service. Would do this again.

I recently visited The Swan in Hammersmith, London, with high expectations for a classic British meal of fish and chips. Unfortunately, my experience fell short of expectations. The fish and chips were overcooked, resulting in a burnt and oily taste that overshadowed the dish's potential. The overall ambiance of the pub was pleasant, but the subpar quality of the main course left me unsatisfied. I hope the management addresses the cooking issues to ensure a more enjoyable dining experience for future patrons.

Steak and ale pie was great for lunch , good atmosphere at night

I've visited this pub a few times over the years. The mulled wine here is good, and I like the atmosphere. The service is okay. I've had food here before and had no issues, but I didn't order food on my last visit. The ladies' toilets really smell awful every time I visit, but at least they're upstairs. A lady walking past me on the staircase intentionally elbowee me in my chest last time I was there and pretended nothing had happened! The prices for drinks here are reasonable (for London) and they're well located, close to the station. I guess my other issue is that I'm not too fond of sitting on high tables and stools as a short person, and sometimes that's all they have available!

Nice food here and reasonably priced compared to some of the other pubs in the vicinity. Staff friendly and helpful too. Really nice place for a pub lunch.

Went in to eat and noone came to taake my order. Left disappointed and hungry.

Lovely pub but unfortunately didn’t enjoy the comedy night. Not worth the money for the price we paid. Wouldn’t go back to see the comedy show but would have a drink there if in the area.

Lovely and busy corner pub right outside Hammersmith Station. Been here a few times but this time we ordered dinner. Found a quiet table upstairs and ordered from the QR code menu. She had Chase Pink Grapefruit and Pomelo G&T (delicious!) and the Puy Lentil Cottage Pie which was cooked perfectly, the lentils were soft and the sauce was flavorful. I had a Nicholson's Original G&T (a classic!) and the Lamb Shank Shepherd's Pie which was piping hot with warm delicious gravy. The Lamb was quite good and lacked the gameyness some Lamb has. We will definitely return!

It looks distinctive on the outside. That’s where the good ends. It’s just an average chain English pub with sticky tables, below average food (that I would not normally eat), desultory waitstaff, long wait for service. I can’t believe it’s one of the 24 best pubs in London.

Very pleasant ambience in a traditional pub. And a friendly calm and confident staff. All enjoyed very much.

My chips were cold .sent them back and has nice chips but the fish has been reheated and was very wet and soggy .worse meal I have had in a long time and not cheap so very disappointed .

The staff were under stress, not enough team members on shift to accomdate an event at the appollo. the manager was rude when he could see that I had two disabled people with me and just said when you booked you didn't indicate that you coudn't climb stairs, though I tried to go back and alter my booking it would not allow me to do this. Not one of the staff smiled or thanked us for our custom, the food was literally thrown at us at the table, overall not a pleasant visit. only postive the food was hot and tasty

Popped in for food before a show. The pub was very busy but a member of staff who saw us looking for a seat soon found one for us. Considering how busy it was, food came quickly despite us being warned that there may be a wait. Lamb shank pie was delicious with plenty if extra gravy. Veg were initially missing but as soon as this was pointed out they arrived in no time at all. Staff were exceptionally helpful and cheerful.

A beautiful building. Staff are friendly. Food very nice. The only downside ...hot chocolate was Luke warm and although it says on the menu it is served with flapjack it wasn't.

For me the Chicken Schnitzel with French Fries is great. I like Capers so could be something to add to the dish. The staff and service are what make the Swan a pleasure to visit.

Really enjoyed our meal at the swan. Very close to the underground in Hammersmith and had good pies and fish and chips. Service is quick and friendly and plenty of space to grab a table inside or out!

Ein gemütliches Pub, welches direkt bei der Hammersmith Station liegt. Auf zwei Ebenen kann man hier verweilen. Wir haben nur etwas getrunken, daher kann ich das Essen vor Ort nicht bewerten. Die Location ist ganz gut aufgebaut, mit einigen TVs und genügend Sitzplätzen. Im oberen Geschoss befindet sich der Essbereich, welcher wir aber nicht aufgesucht haben.

The burger was not my taste at all. The meat was not fresh (frozen product). Better to eat a burger at McDonald.

I only really know the pubs by the Thames but was with a friend and we wanted a pub near the Broadway and so we came in here for a beer. It was busy but we found a table. It is an old style pub. The table was wet and sticky and the barmaid gave me a cloth to clean it myself which wasn't the best service. The beer was fine though.

A solid pub right outside the Hammersmith Tube stations - good for a few drinks and we were able to watch the Rugby World Cup comfortably. We have not tried the food yet, but the menu looks very good and we will certainly be back to give the food a try.

Nice pub, busy and friendly BUT BUT BUT EAT HERE AT YOUR OWN RISK, 8 of us ate here last Saturday before going to the theatre. BIG mistake, 3 of us had chicken bacon avocado salad, they couldnt be more different (2 plates had cubes of chicken 1 plate had 2 whole breasts, 1 plate had NO pumpkin seeds, 1 plate had 2 halves of 'a' tomato other plates had more), how could you bring 3 plates do different to the same table made us laugh!!!, further more the chunks of chicken and bacon were EXTREMELY dry, no dressing either. We probably used half the bottle of mayo to make it plateable. The steak and ale pie was lacking in filling and excessive hard crust, the fish was extremely oily. One member of our party did however have one of the burgers they said it was OK. If you do eat here, dont have any of he above.

We came for a classic Sunday roast, having heard many good things about it and seen it advertised outside this pub located just outside Hammersmith station. Unfortunately, nothing to write home about. Service: We booked a table for lunch, and we had to speak to the bartender to announce our arrival as nobody welcomed us. There is nobody to take your order: you order online via QR code and have to pay in advance via credit card/apple pay etc. And are also given a request for service tip (what service?). The only moment a server came to check whether the food was OK was at the end, at which point it doesn't really matter anymore. Food: we got the Roast sirloin of beef. Quality was ok, but nothing more: we were expecting more from such a traditional meal. Price was OK, but the quantity of meat seemed a bit lacking compared to the whole dish. Ambience: the pub looks nice and welcoming, definitely gives you the feel of something with a lot of history. If we were to come again, it would only be to try the famous awarded pie(s).

There once was a pub, I declare, Whose menu was quite unfair. Burger with chips we did seek, But our plates were so bleak, No fries left us in deep despair!

The place has a nice old vibe with all the wood. The service kind of strange we couldn’t find any one to get a seat or take orders. The fish and chips was good well cooked.

Established in 1743, won't make it to 2024 without attitude change. That we order online is ok, but prepay (and type in all credit card details) is NOT ok; the least you can do is come to my table after dinner so i can swip my card. Now they ask to pay for service fee upfront, and service was extremely lousy. Table wasn't cleaned, cutlery brought after the food was on the table, asked for sauce but they brought an empty bottle. Sorry, the whole experience was far below expectations. There are better options than Nicholson's/Swan.

Popped in to watched the rugby, managed to grab a table by the big screen. Good times. Had the fish and chips. Didn't taste very haddocky, quite bland, meaty enough, good portions. Worth £17? I'm not so sure. Camden ale was lovely, didn't love the landlord (beer 😁). Table service worked really well.

A pub at Hammersmith Broadway. We ordered at the counter. There was music playing and the Rugby world Cup was on the screens. We sat at a corner and atmospher was nice and staff was very friendly and helpful in explaining the food options. One minor detail the seabars was out of stock so we got the Haddock instead

Dreadful food - some of the worst ive had in London. Ordered a pie and mash - pie was falling to pieces and full of gristle (wild boar apparently). Veg and mash was microwaved and a soggy mess.
