Quite underwhelmed with the Sunday roast here tbh. Huge amount of hype around it, had to book well, in advance, but (quite frankly) have had much better roasts for a fraction of the price. Nice pub, really nice decor & the staff were friendly. The venison scotch egg was lovely. And tbh my roast was decent enough, lamb was cooked well & potatos great. However the portions were incredibly small for the huge price tag (£55 for 2 courses). They also serve a hipster alternatvie to Coke which was £6 for a small bottle and, honestly, wasn't particularly nice. My wife's portion of pork was insanely small - 3 tiny pieces, 1 of which was nearly all fat. The vegetables provided was totally insufficient (1 piece of carrot each & 2 pieces of tenderstem broccili!). Value for money wise, terrible. £150 for what we had, as I say, very underwhelming.

Hands down this spot offers one of the best roasts in London. Crispy Yorkshire puddings and glass-like roast potatoes, carrots and broccoli cooked just soft enough that the crunch doesn’t get lost in translation, and the stars of the show, the protein (beef (the Sirloin of Belted Galloway) and pork (Iberian pork with jowl)). Service was very good, waiters were very attentive and made lots of great conversation. My belly and I rolled home to the other side of London very happy and content with life.

We ate here this week and had a memorable meal! They offer a 2-course or 3-course meal option. I don’t understand the criticisms here so I wanted to say that I found the food flavorful, beautifully plated, and worth the price. Every dish left an impression! We had Veggie Scotch Eggs, rabbit lasagna, asparagus, venison, and the fish… In addition, our server was extremely friendly and helpful! I’ll be back :)

I was really curious and excited to try this gastro pub, but the experience was not one of the best. The location and the pub itself is very nice, but the food honestly disappointed us. Nothing special from other restaurants or pubs in London, so I don't understand the hype and especially the Michelin star. Anyone who has ever been to a Michel star or otherwise fine dining restaurant knows... It is not affordable at all and is completely overpriced for the experience. Save your money, there are better places!

The roast was amazing!! But for £60 you’d want it to be! I was shocked at the price and I’ve never been to a pub or a restaurant where the displayed price didn’t include the VAT that you’ll see added to your bill. I mean it was pricey enough on the menu at £40 (watch out if you’re ordering the sirloin steak roast too because two tiny pieces of extra meat cost another £7.50 on top). A bottle of a cheap cola brand also cost £4.50, and with a round £60+, with me on my tod, for the whole lot - I don’t think I’ll be going back there unless I’m going to impress a date, and even then we’ll be looking at double that price for the basics, so might just go to The Ivy instead, it’ll be cheaper. Great roast though, and it ought to be!

Service started slow and it was about 10 minutes before drinks order was taken. At the end of the meal the server spilled beef jus on the table and did not clear it up, and actually put the check in the jus. When we did not opt for the dessert menu, instead of asking if we wanted more drinks or a coffee it was instead “I’ll get the bill for you”…the food was very good, however the carrots on our roast were effectively raw and required a sharp knife just to be cut. Otherwise the drinks and the food were very well seasoned and great…but the service and raw carrot were a disappointment considering the Harwood Arms has a Michelin star.

We really loved The Harwood Arms. It is such a pleasure to have exceptional food in a casual, relaxed setting. The dining room is rustic and cozy. And even though The Harwood Arms is a pub, the service is top notch. The food is classic British cooking with a focus on game and wild meat. My favorite dish was the venison scotch egg with Oxford sauce. It was beautiful with a runny golden yolk. My only complaint is that it came out with instead of ahead of my starter as requested. The thyme flavored sauce on the rabbit lasagne was phenomenal. The Berkshire Fallow Deer was perfectly cooked and served with mushrooms and onions. They had dessert special, a date custard tart, that we were lucky to get. I also enjoyed their gin list and tried three different English gins, each one delicious. I highly recommend it.

This is the first time I’ve come that wasn’t a Sunday roast. I came for my birthday dinner. The starters and mains are some of the best food I’ve eaten in london. The meat they cook here is simply incredible and hard to beat for flavour and how well they cook it. The dessert menu and the deserts themselves are quite disappointing though, no chocolate options and the flavour are quite boring compared the main course! Best to get desert elsewhere. Service is always friendly if a little slow- the upside being you never feel rushed to get out quick here! Will 100% return. It’s a next level pub

Everything we had was excellent. I am writing this after completing the meal and I have really good aftertastes that don’t conflict. We started with snacks. The venison scotch egg is excellent, probably the best scotch egg I have ever tasted (and I have had a few). The crisps and cod roe was good too with the whipped cod roe being very light. The trout roe it was topped with didn’t “pop” in the mouth as well as we would like. We had the set 2 course meal and had the Beef Tongue and Rabbit Shoulder lasagne to start. The former was, shall we say, robust. The latter, delicate and subtle. If you like offal the tongue is fine but it was a little in your face for my taste. The rabbit lasagne could have been more gamey but the delicate creamy and (tarragon?) sauce with a hint of mushroom was delicious. Main courses were good. Had the “sika deer” venison (which was excellent) and the monkfish, which was good but had the usual UK issue of not being quite as goor and as fresh as, say, 10 years ago (you know, before we “took back control”). Overall, excellent and satisfying meal with great service in a friendly atmosphere. Brian (our server) was so friendly. When we had questions his and his colleagues’ response was spot on. Definitely service to the right level of quality and down-to-earth and polite - without any of the hautiness alluded to in certain other reviews. Brian and the team were excellent! I should add it was our anniversary and their touches were really appreciated. Whomever does the chocolate sauce “happy anniversary” is an artiste! Cocktails were very good (pretty authentic). Price for us was upped by the wine but even on a budget scrimping on drinks you’re looking at £80 each.

Came for a Sunday roast - 3 courses for £65 which is pretty good value for the size of the roast. Starter was not good (venison pâté and onion tart) - I don’t understand why they don’t put their famous venison scotch eggs on as a starter option? Main was the Deer roast which was very gamey but delicious. Came with maple glazed bacon which was a bit too sweet for me. Roast potatoes looked better than they tasted - they looked like they should be crunchier. Dessert was tasty, wine was very good albeit expensive. Service was slow and slightly rude/harried, which was a shame for the price. Overall, worth a visit but not sure I’d be back.

The food was tasty but I didn’t think it was exceptionally different from many other high end pubs with prices 1/3 of the price. The venison scotch egg was the highlight and it was a shame that wasn’t included in the main 3 course menu and needed to pay for that on top. The wine was also very good although not a wide range of price options. Aside from the food, the service was sadly not that special or attentive, and I was expecting more for the price we paid.

Harwood Arms is a always a hit. Years ago I was searching for a Gordon Ramsey restaurant to go to in town…impossible to get a reservation at the last minute traveling thru town…so I began investigating…on the Michelin Guide Harwood Arms popped up. Known for their classic appetizer a perfect Venison Scotch Egg (now with other options including vegetarian). The Rabbit shoulder lasagna was not what I expected, but the flavors and creative plate was really a pallet teaser. The Venison entre, perfectly prepared warm center medium rare, served with a small side crock of perfectly prepared potatoes, well, you’ll just have to give them a try. The taxi driver that lives nearby had never heard of it…and was totally puzzled trying to figure out where he was going. The place is quite cozy, the wait for their Sunday affair I understand is at least 3 months. The price fixe menu allows you to choose between a starter, entree and a desert, I opted out of the desert and instead added a Scotch Egg to satisfy my craving. Unpretentious, squeaky clean wine glasses, the service is very professional in a residential neighborhood corner, Harwood Arms now with its 1st Michelin Star will be a place I return to again and again.
