We enjoyed a very special evening at the Harwood Arms … well worth the journey from Trafalgar Square …an amazing intimate pub, lovely interior, delicious food, great wines by the glass, talented knowledgeable service … and a very much enjoyed dessert created for us to celebrate our anniversary together. I would highly recommend this dining experience … I can’t wait to return to London again to go back to the Harwood Arms. Bravo … well done indeed.

I wasn’t terribly impressed with the food. Tried over hard on the presentation but the food itself wasn’t anything to write home about, and bordering on cold. Both my wife and I found the sauces on (different) mains very vinegary. So many great value, excellent food choices in London this was an expensive ordinary one and I doubt I would return.

Our service was exemplar and because I’m a return guest from the US, they decided to include an additional course that we “had” to try. Kudos to the consistent superior quality of food and service.

This was our second visit to Harwood Arms. Last year was in June, this time in October. Whilst the menu was quite different on our second visit--time of year of course, it was just as fabulous as the first. The wild game two or three course set menus were both wonderful. The service was fantastic, very helpful and pleasant. Ambience while gastropub, gives the feel of a hunting lodge. Fantastic experience again!! A word to the wise, however. This is very much a neighborhood place and is therefore not easily accessible via the London Underground. If you are visiting from out of town and do not have your own vehicle we recommend that you pre-order a car service for arrival and departure (dining time will be about 1.5 to 2.0 hours depending on whether you have the two course or the three course set menu with a "snack" (the venison scotch egg is a must have snack). Uber/Lyft is unreliable here as Waltham Grove is only two to three blocks long and Black Cabs are also unreliable on busy weekend nights. Regardless, we highly recommend this dining experience--we will be back a third time next year when we return to London in October.

Service was very slow to start (was left standing at the host stand for five minutes before anyone acknowledged), and then left sitting at the table for 15 minutes trying to make eye contact with someone to order a drink while waiting for the rest of the party to arrive. Service picked up and was good through the rest of the meal and food is always excellent! Thank you!

What a nice experience we had at the Hardwood Arms, the Michelin star is for sure still well deserved! ⭐️ The restaurant is still a pub at heart so you can feel this welcoming and almost nostalgic atmosphere - but what’s truly interesting is how the food is refined yet stays true to the satisfaction you feel after eating at a pub. Each dishes we tried was thoughtfully balanced with different textures and taste, the chef really succeeded to still showcase the main ingredients through simplicity. We came there to celebrate a birthday and the staff were super nice, ensuring that we had a personalized experience for that occasion with a special note and dessert - much appreciated! 😊

I’d sum the whole experience up as “average”. Much nicer atmosphere and service at the Atlas around the corner. For £55 for two courses you’d expect something fairly special but it’s average average average. And if you’re going to charge £40 corkage (!!!) you should have a decent enough wine list. Which sadly is not the case here. Average again. I’d heard amazing things about the Harwood Arms a few years ago so perhaps they’ve been resting on their laurels a bit, but some kind of refresh is definitely needed.

Long day touring London followed by a meal at Harwood Arms was the perfect way to spend the first night of our trip in London. Staff was hospitable and friendly. This was our first time at the Harwood Arms and I had been trying to get a reservation for months with no success. On arrival there were plenty of empty tables so not sure why is so difficult to get in! The waiter took us over to our table and while we stood there another lady was cleaning it as the table next to it, had dropped a glass of red wine all over our table and the floor. I looked at the waiter and politely asked if we could sit at the other table next to it as this was empty and he just replied No! I found this response very rude. We eventually sat down at our table and they brought the menus - service was very slow and we had to call them over to order our drinks. We finally got our drinks and my husband was wearing a cream shirt and when he leaned into the table because the red white was not cleared up properly he got red white all on this shirt. This evening was not going to plan at all! I got up and went over to the manger to complain and explained all the details of the event and I did not want the customers next to me to know what had happened as they were having an anniversary meal and did not want the lady to feel bad about it all. The manager apologised what had happened and agreed we should of been put on another table while they cleaned this red wine up when we arrived, I sat back down and the manager came over to my husband, spoke loudly so the lady heard every thing and handed him his business card and told me that if I could get the red wine out then he would pay for the dry cleaning. The couple next to us heard every thing and she was extremely uncomfortable to the fact she left her husband in the pub to pay the bill and left. I have taken pictures of the meal and in my option the food is average, overpriced and not meeting Michelin standards anymore. The starter was heavy and this is not a pate but more like a kind of pork pie. The pub is run down, shabby, the service is terrible and the meal is all over priced. We were not even offered any thing as compensation for the shirt which was expensive and i had to soak it in cold water for days and buy stain products to get it all out. He should of at least took my husband drink off the bill. The manger should of taken our details and treated us better in the pub and call us to see if I managed to get the stains out of this shirt. This should of been handled a lot better by the manager. I am shocked this pub has a Michelin star as there are better pubs out there in London This was my first experience of this pub and definitely my last!

Harwood Arms Pub: A Memorable Celebration Dinner I recently had the pleasure of celebrating a special occasion at The Harwood Arms, and it was nothing short of spectacular. As the only Michelin-starred pub in London, my expectations were high, and they delivered on every level. Nestled in Fulham, The Harwood Arms combines the warmth and charm of a traditional English pub with the elegance of fine dining. The interior felt welcoming and cozy, with rustic wooden beams and soft lighting creating an intimate yet relaxed atmosphere. It was the perfect blend of casual comfort and refined style for a celebration. Food: The highlight, of course, was the food. Known for their focus on British seasonal ingredients, especially game, The Harwood Arms delivered a dining experience that was both creative and deeply satisfying. Starters: I started with the Tartare of Chalk Stream Trout Cucumber, Horseradish and Seaweed Main Course: For the main, I chose Roast Skate Wing Hispi Cabbage, Potted Shrimp & Mussels Drinks: The wine list was extensive, featuring a wide selection of wines from both local vineyards and international producers. For those less inclined towards wine, they also offer a great range of craft beers and classic cocktails. The Harwood Arms is an ideal place for a celebration dinner. The atmosphere is inviting, the service impeccable, and the food is simply outstanding. Whether you're a fan of game or just enjoy expertly prepared seasonal British cuisine, this pub offers a dining experience that rivals many fine dining restaurants. It was a memorable evening, and I’ll undoubtedly be back for another special occasion.

Local pub vibes from the outside with a glam touch in the inside. As you arrive to The Hardwood Arms it does look like the typical residential pub, however, fear not, once you walk in you instantly realize you are in for a treat. From the service, to the decor, and of course the food (the food!). The menu is set for a two course (£55) or a three course (£70). It includes filtered water and bread with butter. There is also nibbles you can add on for a £8-£9 each. We are not very big on dessert so went for the 2 course plus nibbles. The concept is English food elevated and it will not disappoint you! Definitely recommended, specially if you are after a “different” Michelin experience.

Fabulous food. The very best roast dinner I’ve ever had in a restaurant anywhere. I’m from Yorkshire, living in London since ‘87 so I’ve tried a fair few. The service was excellent. Attentive, but we didn’t feel rushed. I’ve never been a fan of background music, but the low level Fleetwood Mac won me over. The tables weren’t packed together and there was air con which was extremely helpful because it was 28 degrees outside. Obviously in that climate I didn’t notice if there was a fire, but if there is, we are back for more in Autumn if we can get in !

I dined here on Sunday, August 11 with two relatives from America. I live in France, so that my standards for food are relatively high. I thought that the food at the Harwood Arms was absolutely outstanding. We all had deer meat cooked slowly, and it was truly succulent, along with the various side dishes, such as cauliflower in cheese sauce, carrots, potatoes, etc. Our desserts were also outstanding and relatively original, at least for me. As it was a summer day in mid-August, the restaurant was probably a bit short-handed, and it took us some time to be served our desserts. I was both pleased and surprised that the waiter then gave them to us for free--which you do not find everywhere, in my experience. My only (mini) complaint is that there was a bit too much noise coming from a table nearby, with six young men celebrating a birthday a bit too noisily. But all in all, it was a wonderful experience, and the quality of the food certainly compares with top places where I have eaten in France, which Michelin has wisely recognized.

As with the Roman Empire, all great dynasties eventually fall foul of their own success. It very clear that The Harwood Arms has fallen below the honour of 1 Michelin-star, which isn’t to diminish what was once a very good establishment. I think they should count their lucky stars that the MICHELIN Guide wasn’t attending this past Friday 3rd May 2024. I would even go as far to hypothesize that The Harwood Arms must have a very good relationship with the MICHELIN Guide, or someone is taking bribes, there is no way any saine reviewer would award this venue 1 Star in the current state that it operates. The food isn’t terrible and would be unfair to miss lead the reader in this regard, however, the Roast Skate Wing that was served was over cooked and dry and if the fish were alive today, I’m sure he or she would be ashamed to have been eaten in that state, we can only place this down to poor quality management from the kitchen. Now for the positive, Sirloin of Belted Galloway was to the standard of 1 Michelin-star in food quality, however, this leads this reviewer to question that the only thing this venue can cook to perfection is anything meat related, which isn’t surprising given its reputation was built upon this, I refer of course to their infamous Sunday roasts. I welcome to challenge from Head Chef Josh Cutress and his team to push the envelope and try something new and not rest on the good name that this establishment has garnered over the years, this responsibly also falls on Director Brett Graham and his name that he proudly puts against this venue and the team he has assembled. As for the service, to say it was average would be fair, nothing of exceptional quality, and no offer of an apology and or acknowledgement when present with polite reference to the poor food, no discount and or Skate offered off the bill. I wish The Harwood Arms all the best in what I hope isn’t the dying embers of a once great establishment, lets hope for now, this was a once off. I welcome an invite back to be proven wrong from Josh and his team anytime.

We had a very relaxing meal at the Hardwood to celebrate my 65th birthday. The food really is superb and I can't fault it. We had rabbit and trout starters, both had the deer for main followed by Pimms trifle and salted caramel tart. We started with a couple of cocktails (both very good) and then wine by the glass - Vino Verde with the trout, chenin blanc with the rabbit and red Bordeaux with the deer. Puds were accompanied by muscat and sherry. We followed the wine recommendations suggested by our server and each worked very well with the food. The traditional pub style setting works with the grandiose food on offer and makes for an unpretentious night out. Service is on point and the different courses are described without any unnecessary waffle that you sometimes get. Yes, it's an expensive night out, drinks especially so, but we still thought it was worth what we paid. Some nice little touches too for my birthday which were much appreciated.

This was a fabulous experience. The only pub with a Michelin star and it did not disappoint. We went on a Sunday to try yhe roast for my dad's birthday. They had a card ready for him which I thought was a lovely touch. I had the fallow deer wrapped in bacon and my friend and dad had the sirloin beef roast. The roast was absolutely amazing. I really enjoyed everything and there was so much I couldn't even finish my plate despite not wanting to waste anything. The only let down was the horseradish cream as it wasn't very strong but I can understand that not everyone likes strong horseradish. For dessert my father had the salted caramel cheesecake which was on the specials board and my friend and I had the cheese. My father's dessert was scrumptious. The cheese was underwhelming as it was only one piece of not very flavoursome cheese and some crackers with a little yummy sauce. Overall, we all really enjoyed our food and we all want to come again for another treat.

It’s splendid. Such high quality service, remarkable food, beautiful dining room, and great drinks (best Bloody Mary in London?). My ONLY objection is that the wine list is limited on Bordeaux and really quite expensive. Other regions seemed to have much more approachable price points, but I think the inexpensive Bordeaux were still north of 80 quid, and were super young. We loved the wine we drank very much (an 06 and a 16), and frankly were ok to pay the price given the quality, but I think a diligent review of cheaper, older Bordeaux would add a really lovely extra appeal! An opinion shared, incidentally, by my chum who was dining with us and is a Master of Wine.

We had a lovely Friday lunch here, and it didn’t start to get busy until after 1. The mains were our favourites (beef short rib and pork) and the Pimms Trifle was a must have. To call this place a pub is an understatement, it’s fine dining in a pub shell. Well worth a stop.

The food was of a very high quality. The menu is limited especially if you don't eat red meat. The service was friendly, our dessert took a while to arrive but was excellent. The wine selection is good though a bit pricey. The ambience is friendly and unpretentious

Went to this beautiful restaurant with some local friends and fellow travelers. The decoration inside was beautiful and the ambiance was relaxed and friendly. There was even a doggo at the table next to us. I love places that serve Michelin food but are still neighborhood favorites. Definitely recommend.

Absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. They serve a fair amount of wine, but perhaps because it's a pub, the sophisticated dishes go well with beer. Reservations are required. I will come again next year.

Went for hospitality a set menu, so a limited choice, but all food was very good. Service was excellent, especially with so many people. Highly recommended

Nice pub but empty on a Saturday afternoon May be due to the price of beer Staff OK but when I popped in there was more staff than customers Management seem to spend a lot of time eating free bee meals in front of customers 5 very young female members probably 18 years old who looked more like teeny bopper Taylor swift fans giggling and not trying to look busy Maybe the Youngs male managers who work there like them that way Young

Amazing rebranding and reshape of this place to a healthy beautiful space with great food based on veggies, salads, healthy protein cakes, an much more. I will definitely come back soon! Now it is called Awake, love the name too!

We waited over 20 minutes to be served. The queue was quite long. I noticed people paid first before be served. So my son went to pay whilst I waited in the queue. The staff member serving us proceeded to tell us off . I thought he was very rude. I was not impressed. The making of the ice cream was impressive. My son enjoyed his ice cream.
