What a great place. Food was excellent. All the staff were great but special mention to Lee ... she really looked after us very well.

Unfortunately we were very disappointed with our Sunday lunches. We both had turkey but some of the potatoes were undercooked and some were very mushy. Tasteless on the whole. Won't be returning Certainly not value for money

We decided to try this pub for Sunday lunch. The waitress seated us pretty quickly and took our drink order, although we could see our drinks on the bar it took ages for her to bring them to our table. The pub wasnt really busy so it wasnt as if the staff were run off their feet. We ordered our Sunday roast dinners which also took a long time to come. The food was tasty but luke warm and the meat portions were minimal, just two small slices. We were not impressed and wont be returning.

We had a lovely family meal here today. Greeted and looked after by the lovely Lee - made us feel so welcome which isn’t always the case when eating out with two toddlers! Service was quick and food came out hot and delicious! Lee went out of her way to make sure the children were happy, fetching them colouring to keep them entertained and asking their names and chatting to them. Our son really enjoyed being treated like a grown up and being acknowledged so thank you! Lovely clean, friendly pub which always has a warm welcome. Great selection of beers and spirits. Menu is great, few more vegetarian options would be nice but still lots to choose from. Looking forward to coming for a Sunday roast next! Great playground in the beer garden for the kids too. Perfect!

I've taken my family to this pub four times since we've lived in the area. Each time the Scottish lady has either made my eldest feel welcome due to his allergies and speak about her son or just be a legendary bar maid. I met her again this evening and she joked about me writing a review. Couldn't ask for more, no matter the food or drink, she's a credit to any pub or restaurant. nothing is too much and great conversation Dare I say....Old school?

Lovely to walk in and see the pub busy, this didn't affect our visit. A warm welcome and attentive service from Emily and Lewis. Food was excellent. Couldn't fault our visit we will return

This is my wife and I favourite pub to have a drink especially after a long week at work. We had often talked about having a meal here and tonight we did. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was great from Wendy. A good choice of food I can highly recommend the chicken in bacon. We'll be back soon

Met up with friends and had an absolutely superb lunch today!!! Everybody cleared their plates, fish and chips was beautiful!! Previously I commented on lack of peas asked for 2 pots and request was granted!! Why a larger portion isn't offered anyway is crazy! Will return, a lovely meal was had by all

We received a warm welcome on arrival, the pub was quiet. My steak was very good, and the trimmings too, I recommend the chips upgrade, my wife had standard chips! Menu a little limited but enough choice for us. We did manage desserts and they were very good. This cosy pub offers value for money too. As the evening progressed more drinkers, rather than diners, appeared and the atmosphere did change with staff giving the drinkers more attention. Overall a pleasant evening and we will return.

Food and drinks were great. We arrived for 7.30pm and told kitchen was closing at 8pm (didn't realise, but we ordered in time). We asked if this would affect puddings as we were likely to order after 8pm and were told this was ok. We went to order puddings at the bar around 8.30/8.45pm, and the staff appeared to be sat at one of the tables together. As we walked past this table with the pudding menu, one of the male members of staff said 'oh for fu*ks sake'. It was my birthday yesterday, so hearing that when we just wanted to order some puddings was not appreciated.

All of the staff were so lovely and friendly, fast service and delicious food! Worth every penny :) definitely recommend friends and family to come

This was our first visit to this restaurant, only ever having seen it before as we drove by. From the outset we were greeted by friendly, smiling staff. Our starters were the pate and the mini fish cakes, both of which were beautifully presented and were delicious. We then had the gammon steak, which I'm glad to say came with pineapple and a fried egg, and the chicken and mushroom pie. Again, these were beautifully presented, piping hot, good-sized portions and very tasty. Being a Marston's pub they also served a good pint of Pedigree. Overall value was also very good, but without a doubt what made the experience most enjoyable was the friendly staff who could not do enough for us. We will definitely come again.

A nice lunch with the boys. We haven’t been there for a while but the food was superb and the service was as good. Highly recommend it.

Had a lovely anniversary dinner at The Swan. Service was excellent food was excellent and loads of space to relax whilst eating. My ribeye steak was perfect well done chef !! Wife loved her Hunter's chicken. Great! Then we had 30 percent off the mains bill !!!

We visited the Swan for a meal for our 41st Wedding Anniversary. It was a lovely experience. The welcome was super, the food was excellent and the drinks were good too. Absolutely rubbish.No chips no smooth pour beer only 2 zero beers larger or larger. Table spoon of peas and half a macdonalds fries portion served.

Very helpful and accommodating staff. Had told them it was for an anniversary and the table had a blackboard on it saying "Happy Anniversary" and decorated with chalk drawn flowers which was a lovely touch and much appreciated. The meals were substantial and tasty.

Very convenient table by the door which was great for my dad as uses 2 walking sticks. Very friendly and helpful staff. Pub is very clean with a nice bar and outdoor seating. Food always served hot of good quality and presented very well, and reasonably priced. All in all a very nice pub.

Just retuned from here after taking my mom for her birthday we had 2 roasts and my partner had fish and chips (my moms 91 ) she’s cooked some yorkies over the years for 6 children but she said it was the best one she had ever tasted My partner also said the fish and chips was the best he had had for a long time Staff were lovely and friendly too xx will be returning soon Definitely recommend

Turned up for our booking only to be told they had no booking for us and the kitchen was closed. Explained that I had a text confirmation but they weren’t interested and just said they hadn’t got our booking. Went to another nearby restaurant who was glad of our business!

The Christmas Fare meal was over priced and poorly cooked. The Pate starter was small, with only 2 small triangles of toast. The garnish of 3 rings of pickled red onion and a teaspoon of pickle was not really up to much. The main meal of roast turkey was not very well cooked, with the parsnips, boiled potato and carrot not cooked through. The turkey and 1 small roast potato were cooked ok Nobody from our party of 6 completed the main meal. The best part of the whole meal was the Christmas pudding but who can’t microwave a Christmas pudding! I went for another Christmas meal on Sunday for the same price and it was worlds apart. Every part of the meal at this other restaurant was beautifully cooked and really tasty. The Swan should stick to cooking fish and chips which is what they do best. Don’t try to cook meals way above your chef’s capabilities.

At this time of year - 3-4 weeks before Christmas - you expect a struggle to keep customers satisfied - we have waited an hour in other pubs. At the Swan, the service was both pleasant and efficient. Food was good "pub grub", plentiful and tasty, and we will be back soon.

Had our first Xmas meal of the year and it was fab. Despite the brief power cut, which made it very romantic, we were having our dessert by then so no drama. Had a good bit of banter with Lee, which made the evening very enjoyable. 10 AM this morning, still full.

After my colleague pre booking at the swan to make sure we got a table to be told no sorry there isn't a booking for you,maybe it's been bounced back??? I never heard of that ever happening.... not if you have confirmation on a phone and then to get later messages asking how your visit was! Just unbelievable so just left and had a great Sunday lunch somewhere else..Had heard good things about this pub but most certainly will not be returning. These days I thought all business needed as much money as possible? GOOD LUCK...

We had a big family do, 19 of us, for my father in law’s birthday. We were really impressed, the food was beautifully presented and delicious. Some things weren’t available but it is a big menu so everyone was able to find something they liked. The staff were helpful and pleasant, a special mention for Lauren our waitress who was very calm and professional, not easy with a big group of people! She communicated well with me to make sure that everything ran to plan. Thanks to everyone involved!
