Superb kebab! It’s not often I can get an amazing vegetarian kebab but The Sussex Fryer always deliver! My partner had a kofte kebab which he thoroughly enjoyed… and we would highly recommend a portion of fried potatoes!

It has been a couple of months since I last had one. But that first nibble I took when plateing up my chicken shish kebab was incredible. I had to brace myself because the flavor was so overwhelming that I thought I might need to sit down. So good.

Ordered food was delivered late wouldn’t answer phone when I called back and food was stone cold when it did get here ran hour and a half late won't use again terrible customer service

I cannot rate atmosphere as is a delivery. I am not sure about service as it might be part of the reason for cross contamination. I know Sussex Friar reads reviews so a tip for them. I would always have left a five star before this evening but this cod and chips tastes of cooked red meat! Cross contamination which can also be dangerous. I dare not eat it even though I am hungry, and being unwell am not able to cook at the moment. So I was relying on this meal. I don't know if it was kept in a food warmer in the shop - or possibly it was carried in the same bag as cooked red meat by the delivery driver. Red and white meats should be in different bags for delivery, and should not be near each other at any time. I haven't telephoned to complain as I have seen on reviews that unfortunately you don't want to listen to complaints. Some are bound to be valid because no business can be perfect but I really am not going into a pointless argument with you about a refund (which I should be morally entitled to. If it was the courier then he was your choice so your responsibility). I am sure that as a food business you have been educated about cross contamination. I hope you are able to prevent it in future.

Gave me the shits chips tasted LOVELY tho , the order I placed before this the chips were brown then the second time I ordered chips beans and cheese and all I got was mushy chips and cheese ? Sorry but I will NOT be back I think they have new owners because this use to be the best in Bognor

Possibly the best kebab I have had. I ordered off just eat. Added my fussy requirements, it arrive in 30 mins and was cooked brilliantly as I had asked.

Such a shame as always been good , until now. Large cod was more like a med, greasy, soft soggy batter, fell to pieces when moving from paper to plate. Chips old, like warm Chicken shish....smelt chemically. Chicken dry. Pizza, plenty of toppings, smelt delicious but sadly pizza base not fully cooked. Had to put in the oven to finish off. Not sure would order f4om here again. Most of it ended up in the bin.

A reassuring sign by the counter says that all their fish will take ten minutes, because it's all cooked fresh. Mine was ready instantly. I took it to the seafront to eat, which took two minutes. The leathery batter fell off the fish. It had obviously been hanging around for a while. The chips were no better, and were not crispy. When I ordered, a previously friendly man behind the counter asked if I was from the local area. I explained that I wasn't, and he turned surly and walked away before I'd finished a sentence. Maybe regular customers are treated better than this, but they're not the ones looking for reviews are they? Go somewhere else.

Awfull had cheese chips and beans the chips did not taste right

We had a delivery and it's worth pointing out that you cannot track this. However, the food was delivered at the one hour mark. We ordered 3 x large cod and a large chips. The large chips are always enough for all of us but the fish... I'd dread to think what the small cods would have been like. Lastly I'd mention consistency. The batter on one of the cods was burnt (black) at the tail end. If I were trying to drum up business I'd have thrown that cod out to the cats before sending it out to a delivery. 4/5

Hit and miss, delivery is prompt and usually delivered way before the estimated time. Prices are fair, and portion size is good. The chips are really nice, as is the jumbo plain sausage. Have had the burger twice now, but most likely not again. The patties themselves are really mushy, no bite to them. Could probably push through a sieve. Which is a real shame as the bun is really nice.

Popped in on second visit to Bognor in recent times,attitude even worse than previously,will definitely not use again on any visit down here!!!!!!

Used sussex Fryers for about 5 years now and normally collect, they always have a smile and chat. Always lovely food and love that they offer soo much variety for my household. Delivery was first occasion I had missed food, upon calling they apologised and had the food out within minutes (all food was still hot it was that quick) with again another apology!!! Fantastic customer service sussex fryers.... Thank you :)

I was utterly disappointed with the food. I ordered 1 Donner meat burger, 2 battered sausages, 1 normal sausage and a portion of chips. The burger was disgusting and inedible. The battered sausages were not crispy instead the batter was essentially a paste. The chips were basically wet. I have not been able to stomach more than a bit and then after calling this restaurant we were met with customer service worse than the food. Would not recommend. How they are still an operating company is beyond me. DO NOT GO HERE!!

We have used many times over three years, food always hot, always quick to deliver and never had a bad meal, also they are one of few places to have proper chips instead of fries, pretty much do everything, chicken, burger, pizza, fish and chip and kebab. Nothing not to like

We have been long time customers and every time their online order service does not work, we are to blame. Unreasonable service when you call. There food may be tasty, but their customer service are atrocious.

I ordered food for me and my family, they delivered it to the wrong address. When I called they were rude, shouted, called us liars! Refused to send new food or give a refund. I tried to explain its an easy mistake as often people mix up the addresses but he would not listen, more abuse and then put the phone down. He then wouldn't answer phone then when he did told me it wasn't his problem he wouldn't pay out of his pocket and proceeded to shout again and put the phone down. So no food and no refund was given. Disgusting customer service, avoid at all costs!!!!!

Whilst it lists itself as fish and chips on Google Maps, this is far from a traditional fish and chip shop. The fish and chips were horribly greasy, overpriced (£20 for two pieces of fish and three chips) and they took about 20 minutes to give us the food after paying.

Ordered 2 small Donner meat and chips with salad and drinks. Once it had arrived the food was stone cold, salad had all wilted and unpleasant, drinks were out of date!!!! Won't be ordering from there again, managed to get a refund from just eat

I have been eating from the Sussex Fryer for years, I 100% recommend it. Food is always hot and fresh when it arrives, the Customer Services are always great and the delivery is always in a reasonable timeframe!

I tried to order off of the just eat app. I then recieved an aggressive response telling me that I had to pay more money (in cash to the driver) than is stated on the app or he wouldn't send a delivery driver. Complete joke, waste of time, dodgy service, AVOID.

What aloud of phoo wrong food turned up and when trued to explain all I got was alot of fluff and said it was my fault, I asked to speak to the manager and phone was put down, avoided the so called takeaway as they just put what ever they want in the order and then say its your fault!!

Gets orders wrong and when asked they SHOUT AT YOU. STAY AWAY!!

Order was wrong online, and they were so so rude about it when I called to let them know, discussed with the service, wrong cold and rude... Avoid avoid avoid... It was clear our end the order was correct, it's easy to order a plain burger, so the system is wrong, or not the customer should never be shouted at or called a liar over the phone especially as a long term loyal customer never thought I'd be spoken to like that over a £4 burger!!!!

Pay on delivery or your food will be left out in the cold !! This used to be the best place in Bognor for a kebab but recently the quality has suffered, tonight they left our order on the doorstep without even ringing the bell, when we rang to ask where it was they said they rang the bell and the dog was barking !! I was sat with the dog very hungry and that was not true, we discovered our food 20 minutes after being left outside so no phone call ... nothing, this was the first time we ever paid up front, normally they get your attention !! Never again, sad to say goodbye to the once best kebabs in Bognor 👋

Called the restaurant to query a detail of my order and asked how I can cancel to add to and change my order. Was told I can only cancel on JustEat. Decided not to cancel after I got off the phone because I changed my mind so I waited an hour and a half for my food. Nothing came despite being alerted an hour before that my food was on its way. I called again to be told that they didn’t send it because I cancelled it which I did not and that they won’t send the food nor will I get a refund. I was told I can only cancel on justeat but they refused to send me food. Absolute con and a joke of a company. I spoke to two different men throughout this ridiculous situation and both were very rude and unwilling to take any responsibility. Based on other reviews they blame their customers for their mistakes and call everyone who’s had a bad experience a liar. I used to order once a week from here but I will not spend a single penny more here. Avoid at all costs.

This is the most dreadful fish & chips I have ever had. The fish was grey & dry inside chips old and dry. Could not eat it. Simply not possible.

Very friendly staff. We were informed our order would be 10 minutes and it was ready within that time. The food was excellent and plenty of it.

Best Chip Shop, Pizza and Kabab House in Bognor Regis. All food is cooked perfectly and the customer service is fantastic everytime and I've been a custom for over 17years. They have thought of everything and wouldn't go anywhere else.

I was the only customer in the shop when I enered and the staff couldn't even be bothered to say hello or listen when I ordered, "Two fish and chips please." I was charged £5 and given the chips. I asked where the fish was and the man said I hadn't ordered any. I told him I had. He charged me a further £9 (with no apology) and then said it would be 6 or 7 minutes. That was after I'd paid. I was not pleased. Occasionally, the server held his stomach and looked ill. That was worrying for a food environment. When I returned to the shop, there was no greeting or regonition, let alone any thanks for waiting. The place was still quiet, with just two other customers (and three staff), yet I was ignored until I asked if the fish was ready. It was then wrapped and bagged. My friend and I ate it on the beach opposite, and it was hot but exceptionally greasy with a batter that was far too thick for the meagre fish. In places, the fish and the batter were over-cooked and rubbery rather than crispy. The fish were tiny pieces and I was left hungry afterwards. The chips were a good portion but for £2.50, you'd hope so. I was really quite appalled by the whole service. I would, of course, not go back to The Sussex Fryer, even if it was the only chippy on the seafront. To improve, the staff could listen, show courtesy - for example with a please, thank you, hello and goodbye, and by apologising for waiting times. The fish could be drained before serving and orders could be given complete.

Ordered from just eat and waited for over and hour to receive nothing and phoned the shop to a very rude person over the phone saying that they delivered and there's nothing they're going to do about it. So yeah they took my money and gave me nothing

I've been calling into this kebab shop in West Street on my way home from the pub for the last 30 years... Best selection of food available and great quality

We tipped up with no notice and ordered for our group of 8. It was a quiet afternoon so perhaps we were lucky. Food order consisted of sausage and chips, fish and chips, pizza and various kebabs. Also had a good chat with the owner whist we were waiting. There was more than enough for everyone, it was all freshly cooked and everyone enjoyed it. Can’t really fault it and we will be back!

Had to wait over half an hour after my food was supposed to be ready for my food. To watch when my order was being put together part of it had been sitting on the side for all that time and was cold. All the staff could say was we are busy and shrugged their shoulders. Refused to take my order and was refused a refund. Will not be returning

Good old fashioned fish and chip shop. In fact my local chippy. Been there many times and it's always good. Sit in or takeaway.

All in all is a great place, visited recently. Ordered a quarter pounder and a chicken doner wrap. Can be eat in or takeaway. Few small tables to sit and eat and a large couch to wait. The service was really fast (well organised i would say). Would lime to mention how fresh was the salad, it really made a change, crunchy earthy onions and great green salad. Totally enjoyed it. I know its 'only' a fast food place but one of the good ones. Will visit again (and definitely will order the chicken doner wrap!). A+++++

Used to love this place but they started giving you less and less portions even as a weekly regular you wouldnt get a smile from the staff.

Have used this place for several years now, but over the last year the quality has dropped considerably. Have avoided for a few months but Used tonight... never again...... Lamb doner was disgusting and all of our food was cold when arrived. Real shame the owner doest care anymore....

Not sure what is going on with these takeaways, but looks like they still using old methods and think will go. Why just simple not to try do the bes tasting chips in the town? Because is just taste awful, soggy, chicken is dry, can you just to try improve, otherwise is just one way to close down.

Have visited this place about once a year which is too often.customer service is appalling, food substandard generally treated like a lout.
