Great Fish & Chip supper, best we’ve eaten for a long long time, delicious 😋

Phoned through my order, and it was being packed as I arrived at the time I'd asked for it to be ready for. Took it all down to the beach to enjoy. Great fish and chips, portion size and taste! The kids fish cake and chips portion size was decent too. Service with a smile too.

Delicious fish and chips all freshly cooked! I’m not normally a fan of fish and chips but these are special! Sooo good. The staff are so lovely and friendly.

This a local chippy that does what it say above the door - if you want nice fish and chips to take ot the beach then pop in.

The worst chip shop I've ever been in, the chips were disgusting like they had been boiled Avoid at all costs I'll never go back.

Very good code, fries okay. Quick order fulfillment, polite and efficient service, generous portions. Freshly prepared food. We ordered two medium-sized cod and a portion of small fries for two people, and it was sufficient. Prices have risen significantly lately.

The best fish and chips shop in East Preston by a country mile

Chips were good - cooked fresh for us- but unfortunately the fish was dry and chewy. Shame!

Possibly the worst fish and chips we've ever eaten...... Such a disappointment, even more so given the very high price point. Visited last night and ordered two haddocks and chips. When the fish came out of the fryer they were both unbelievably small and the batter was visibly dead, opalescent and flat, barely 2mn thick... Unbelievably and as an observation all bottled condiments that were for sale were purchased from Aldi, this not being bad enough all had massive mark-up. And some other frozen food products were all also Aldi own brands.... Given we were tired and hungry and had a taxi coming so just paid £20 and left. When we got to eat the food the small size was even more visible and astonishingly neither of our fish was haddack but what we think was Pollock.... The chips looked good but approximately 30% were rock hard and only browned on exterior. All in all truly atrocious food with clear cost cutting, such a shame and a stark opposite to the branch in Rustington which we use regularly which is great. The only positive was very friendly staff. Sad to say but avoid and save your money, shocking food.

Paid for a large chips and got a small ..no way that's meant to be a large at .3.50 ..tasted good though just a shame about the size

Prices have gone up but so has the quality. Very nice piece of cod and perfectly cooked chips, nice to be able to support a local chippy 😁

Amazing value! Saw the size of the portions and decided on large fish & large chips between two of us and it was plenty. Best cod I've tasted in long time. Would like see huss/rock back on the menu. Highly recommended

Battered cod was chewy and the chips didn't taste great. Very disappointed.

Chips were soggy,jumbo sausage was great but the cod was definitely frozen and over cooked, the member of staff was rude and not experienced enough.

Ordered for Rustington, should have been East Preston but we're really helpful and sorted it out for me with a phone call. Shame you don't do pies but your fish is excellent 🙂.

After a gruelling day in the sun and sea on the beach, haddock, chips, sausage in batter, mushy peas and curry sauce, eaten from the paper on the green opposite, hit the spot. And I wasn't offered the OAP special, which I appreciated

Probably not the staffs fault as they were all inexperienced and trying to cope in extreme heat and COVID with lots of customers BUT....I was taking my family to the beach for tea to cool down in recent heatwave, Bluebird is my usual choice but thought I would try E Preston and Micks Chips, however not a good experience at all - I ordered over phone during day, in fact spoke to a young girl twice as added to the order, arrived dead on time of collection and there was a q outside, I let them know I had arrived but after around 20 mins myself and a few others with pre orders were still waiting, they did give one order out but he came back minutes later as it was all wrong, then I was called and went in to pay and waved my card to pay .....ah we dont take card !!! Only cash !!! I was fuming no one had told me that over phone, the girl pointed at a notice on wall that I would not of seen as we were all outside! She then said you can get cash at the one stop up the road, well her idea of up the road was at least half mile to three quarters in raging heat - I gave up and made my way back to E Preston and tried to find somewhere to get cashback, luckily a shop across the road gave it so back I went to fish shop , I had asked please keep it warm, there it was sat on top of counter! Then they didnt know how much my bill was and starting to rummage through the bin type thing to find my order ticket!! Anyway tried to be positive that it would be worth the hassle but no arrived at beach, burnt fishcakes, soggy chips and awful burgers, and worse still two portions of chips not in my order! £37.00 wasted in my book! Never ever again Micks Chips, we dont have money to waste a moment so you need to get your staff trained properly and make sure they are not in a state like that in busy times, and that they clearly state no card when they take phone orders!

Regularly visit this shop excellent always, can thoroughly recommend it. Always excellent fish and good portions of chips.

Had cod and chips as takeaway (the house is very close by). The chips were rather soggy and the flakes of the cod lacked lustre. The cod was perfectly cooked BTW. Overall some aspects reasonable others not good. It was all quite edible though and I was very hungry, so it quickly filled a gap in my stomach. Others tell me of crisp chips and crunchy batter. Clearly, consistent quality is lacking here so changes of procedure perhaps needed.

Usually visit on Saturday lunchtimes and have always had sizeable portions of good food. Haddock is warmly recommended

...nice wide selection on the menu. Food cooked to order. Nicely uniformed staff. Reasonable prices. It’s a good quality, old style, chip shop which makes me happy when I go there!

We regularly order the jumbo cod here -delicious, so well cooked and such friendly people. Well worth a visit

I got my food home and to my surprise, the fish was actually a unicorn, not battered but covered in glitter, I had shimmery poo for 2 weeks and could not be happier. Thanks guys.

Very disappointing - this was recommended to us and was worse than you'd get in the Midlands (as far from the sea as you can get!) Fish overcooked with soggy batter, chips very small and some undercooked. We ordered, and paid for, curry sauce and mushrooms - the mushrooms we had to prompt them for and the curry sauce was missing entirely. Oh, and we waited for an hour....

Excellent friendly service. Very nice touch offering discount to OAPs. Most importantly the best fish and chips I have had in a long time.

Not bad fish and chips clean and tidy

We didn't want to cook, looked for a local chippy & found Mick's just around the corner from where we were staying. I am so glad we found it. There's an extensive menu, including cod roe, which I really enjoy but rarely see. The service was quick & friendly, food fresh & hot so Mick's was everything we wanted. Can't wait for our next holiday!

Best chip shop around Even tho you wait for the fish to be cooked it's fresh and not greasy ! And under £20 to feed 3 ! Each with large cod x

This is the nearest chippy to our new home. Tried all the local ones but this has been consistently the best. Always freshly cooked. Chips taste like how I remember from 30 years ago which are perfect for me and my family. Good size portions and friendly staff.

Popped in here for a quick takeaway with family. Portion size was very good chips pretty good but I had cod and unfortunately it didn't have much taste those that had the haddock said it was good. Will I come back not sure but service was nice and friendly

used to be a really good place to go. sadly the 20 min wait to get a simple fish supper sort of puts you off

Used be loyal customers & go to Micks chips in Rustington almost every week, but we got sick of the chips portion sizes everytime they varied! Once you were almost guaranteed to get great fish & chips here & value but nowadays it's simply gone to pot! A few weeks ago we had Cod and chips & although we paid the same price the once delicious chips weren't anywhere near the same standard & frankly inedible! the fish not much better. Then we saw a notice saying the fat chips were back! so why did I pay the same for those rubbish chips? We've now found much much better chips locally around the corner in fact, turns out these people were the original Micks chips shop owners. Needless to say we wont be returning to Micks again.

I only went there to get some chips. Paid £2.55 for a load of crumbs and one or two real chips. They should,if they are a good chippie,filter all the debris now and then from the fryer. I will never go back there! So disappointing.

Went there today for a quick takeaway as we were working hard in the garden. I had a spring roll and chips, my partner had a fish cake and chips. Not been here for a while and we both agreed it was excellent. For a fiver we ate better than at a pub we went to last week and spent £40. Also quick and efficient service.
