Hi all, what can we say! Chris and his team catered for our wedding reception. The service was excellent, well organised, and very professional we cannot thank them all enough for their hard work. All the food had been prepared along with all the names of our guests on the individual boxes making the handing out of the meals effortless. The food was extremely tasty and all our guests made positive comments, So if you are looking for great fish & chips look no further use Chis and his team. Thank you guys best wishes Martin & Hannah

Poor service asked for battered sausage thay gave me a plain one and charged me for battered sausage rip off never gunna go there again food is poor standard too

Brilliant local Fish & Chips, been coming here since I was a kid and it's got better and better. Staff were really helpful with my request. Food was delicious, cooked fresh and well priced.

Caught them just before closing at 2pm so only had chips left. They were okay but at £4.50 for a large portion a bit pricey. Free car park opposite. Also a pharmacy and a supermarket in same row.

First time visited as new to the area, helpful staff, good prices, and most of all lovely food, fish and chips great and a nice portion size. Parking also, this helps when popping in for a take away.

Great chippy! Not open every night, so check their website. Order before collection much simpler and quicker. Excellent fish quality!!

I have used and lived round the corner from this lovely Chippy for 4 years now. The staff are always friendly and absolutely lovely with me and my children. My son loves watching the chef and he is alway lovely with my son. Most of all the food is always very good. Thank you so much Yapton Chippy for being amazing.

All the family enjoyed the food, really good quality, generous portion sizes. The only negative is the kids tell me when we get take away, I'm only allowed to get it from Yapton chippy going forwards.

The first time I have been here and the cod and chips were great. I am a big curry sauce fan but Unfortunately for me I couldn’t eat it. I think there was a hint of five spice which isn’t to my taste. I will definitely be back.

absolute shambles of a meal, chips was straight up awful, hardly cook and wouldn’t even feed it to my dog. Batterd sausage was a disgrace to society, batter was hardly on it and tasted awful. Sausage was hardly cooked. felt quite ill after eating my meal and my stomach was on ropes the day after. would never come here again

Great food served here, I love getting lunch here whilst at the Yapton Beerex in the village hall opposite. Their scampi and chips is excellent.

the chips were so good and the fish was moist and I don't usually enjoy fish but the fish I had from here was so good , I also loved the curry sauce, staff were also kind and overall good place

We were on a church camp nearby and ordered food for 100 people. They were so helpful beforehand arranging the order. The food was amazing, all kept hot, the staff were lovely and couldn't have been more helpful Would definitely go back if we are in the area.

Probably the best chips I've had on my travels this summer. The curry sauce was a little different to what we're used too but it tasted great and the sausages were good quality. If I had one criticism and it's not at this shop specifically, but all the chip shops I've either eaten at or checked out on the Internet in Sussex they are definitely more expensive than up North probably by 25%. £2 to £2.50 for a large sausage down here compared to £1.50 up home, although similarly priced down here the big difference in fish cakes is they seem to be the small ones down here compared to the large ones at home. IN SUMMARY THIS IS THE BEST CHIPPY I'VE USED ON MY 2022 TRAVELS

We have Been using this Chippy since we moved into the area, the food is always freshly cooked, & we love our weekly treat.

Absolute waste of time going here. I have attended twice, the first time I was barked at for standing in the wrong place and the 2nd time I was very abruptly told 'we're closed' even though it was 13.50 an dthe sign says 14.00 close. Horrible rude staff and awful food.

This is the best fish and chip shop I’ve EVER used. Nice lightly battered fish nice and crispy and not doughy. I’m glad they’re in Yapton because if they were in felpham I’d use them every week but it’s a bit of a drive to pick it up

Wow! Seriously good fish and chips. We have tried most of the fish/chip outlets around here - and this is most definitely the best. They appear to cook to order - so be prepared to wait a few minutes if you just 'turn up' - but we ordered on the 'phone and it was ready when we arrived. Perfectly cooked cod with a lovely light batter, and good size tasty chips. Good friendly service too. This is only a small outlet, but they clearly know how to serve up our national dish!

So came into the local Chippy to support them started off well but was then told to wait outside which if it was busy no problem the fact they were dead and no one was in there and had more protection than a nuclear bunker was a joke. The coldest day of the year as well . When I asked why was told they are my rules well get with the real world every other shop can manage even the co op with less protection why can’t you Don’t be fooled by the sizes either smallest fish ever, bigger sausages than that piece of fish caught bigger fish in a pond 15 pound something for two small cods and 1 chips and a small sausage you are having a laugh. you are a jumped up idiot barnham is better and worth driving further I will not give you a single penny of my money ever again o and your curry sauce is the worst ever tasted, and before you go there I had no mask on because I have a lung condition, absolute joke

The older woman who I presume owns the facility is so rude, absolutely awful customer service I won’t be going there again and don’t recommend a visit, food is also overpriced. I will be going to angmering mermaid chips in the future with friendly staff and yummy food.

This is the place to go for your Fish & Chips. Many times we have enjoyed the food here and now I finally get around to telling the world about it.

The Fish was beautiful moist and tasty. The chips were lovely best l've had in ages. Only thing was the batter doesn't stick or cover the sausages and its more like pan fried fish than a crispy batter, but l would recommend this chippy.

Always our treat for the kids when we come to visit relatives in Yapton! Being able to phone ahead an order makes it so much easier to plan mealtime. Crispy batter, and perfect chips- never had a bad meal out of this chippy. Will be visiting over and over and over again.

Just here visiting the area and wanted some fish and chips to take to the beach. Yapton Chippy was the ideal choice. Fish was of good quality and the batter was crispy and tasty and not too greasy. Really nice chips too and I enjoyed the curry sauce.

I received a message saying chips were coming home. My excitement sky rocketed as I love chips & curry sauce, this is where my excitement ended... Upon on arrival of the chips I was disappointed at the size of the portion "large chips" that we ordered. Maybe at half past five they are running out of potatoes... Who knows. I then went to the pot of curry sauce and I asked if we had ordered a sample size as it's about a thimble worth of curry sauce, which for a curry sauce aficionado is soo sad. To add on this they made my poor girlfriend stand in the rain whilst waiting for said chips & curry sauce. This being said the curry sauce was very good. 2 stars

Friday night is fish night. Large cod and chips. Great food, well organised Covid routines, plenty of real 'Soul food'.

Honestly where to start. As an established, local chippy I had high hopes that this would become my regular as its location is extremely convenient. However, having given it a try for a number of times now, I'm left disappointed each time. The fish looks like flattened road kill and the thinnest piece of fish I've ever seen! Chips are chips, they're nothing to write home about and going forward if I'm desperate that's the only thing I'd buy from here again. Save your money and cook a fish finger at home, you'll find there's more fish on 1 of those than a portion from here

My wife and I ordered cod & chips, and sausage & chips and portion of curry sauce. The batter was very good so was the cod, the chips were good and tasty not a great portion though. The pot of curry sauce was small about 3oz in size but tasty, the other chip shop I have tried the portion of curry was small there too. I lived in Tadworth before moving here and the curry sauce was a good 8oz portion normally about £1.20, the chips portion would be enough for two people. Maybe I have been spoilt by the chip shops where I came from, I will definitely use this chip shop again. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Bought the Supersaver yesterday for my lunch (I live in Yapton) and it was excellent! Fish was lovely and a good size and the chips perfect. I like a bit of colour on my chips andthey were perfect. Thank you. Shall see you more often...

Both times I've used this chippy now and undercooked chips cramped in a small bag, as well as both times having some of my order missing

Bloody horrible . The fish , which was supposed to be cod was far from it. When you remove the so called batter the skin was certainly not cod , it was more like coley which we used to give our cat. Please do not advertise this as cod when it clearly wasnt. The size was no more than a large fish finger and tasted awful. The batter was not nice at all If however you just wanted a portion of chips , then these were very nice. Would never recommend to anybody . This is the second time we have used these , there will not be a third time.

WE'VE BEEN RIVALS FOR YEARS but I think it's finally time to settle this conflict. We'll purchase a portion of chips, a bit of cod, a nice, juicy battered sausage and a kid's meal with some lemonade. Then, you come round and munch on a nice cow's head. Deal? I think so... x

A fairly average chippy, have had better chips, if we're honest, but it's OK. One bonus was that they do a burger in batter, a semi rare thing.

Have been using this chip shop for some time when we come to visit and always found the food very decent. This time however when I got back I was a portion of chips short, the chips we did have were crammed in to a small bag and soggy. Fish was ok but a little dry, appeared to be a lack of concentration whilst getting the order together.

hardly ever open and I just got a mix bag of raw and half cooked chips, if someone could get a burger van in the car park full time with good food you would make a packet and this is not the 1st time ok I thought I'd give you a second chance today you charged me £5,90 For mouldy food this is not on just look at at the food and I waited while you cooked fresh chip you dirty s,o,a,b eho will be hearing from me

We were visiting with friends on Friday afternoon when we got a text from Power Networks to say that we had a power cut at home. Rather than cope with salad on such a cold and windy day, we decided to get fish and chips in case we couldn’t cook when we arrived home. We were impressed because the simple fish and chips were delicious. This English traditional dish may be simple, but so many chippies get it completely wrong and you end up with soggy batter and tasteless chips. At Yapton Chippy we chose medium cod portions, which were ample and coated in a delicious and very crispy batter. The fish was very tasty, not the often watery frozen portions that turn pappy once fried, but fresh and local and fried to retain their moisture and flaky texture. We had one large portion of chips between three of us and certainly didn’t go hungry. Mind you, I’m currently on a diet and shouldn’t really have entertained the thought of fish and chips. But I compromised and just ate the inside of the fish portions (and a very tiny bit of batter!), accompanied by a small portion of chips with vinegar and salt. Next time we’re in Yapton we’ll be treating ourselves to fish and chips again!

The fish here is hot, fresh and tasty. Scampi and Haddock and chips were wonderful and on another occasion we had Cod and chips which was equally as good. Recommended

Consistently good food and service, when my Husbands family visit, they always insist on at least one trip to the chippy while they are staying.

This chippy certainly gives you some great produce. The menu maybe a standard layout with all the classics on, but I've always found the food to be top notch. The burgers come with a good helping of salad and your choice of sauce. The Mrs tells me the vegi option is pretty good as well. The cod always tastes fresh and is always nicely battered. Only problem I've ever found is sometimes the chips are a little bit hit and miss. I know they are prepared everyday and delivered from a local source but sometimes the chips just taste to greasy and have lots of bits in them. They are still edible but just not the best. On the whole though it's a great take away.
