What a gem of a place, right in the centre of Kirkby Lonsdale. Rooms were great, breakfast delicious and service and staff excellent. Unfortunately we didn't have a roast, as they had run out by the time it was our turn to dine. We were not disappointed by the other menu options...lovely food. Will definitely book early to have a roast next visit as looked lovely. Very popular place and super dog friendly!! Loved it ..can't wait to go back!!

Not the most obvious place unless youre going to view something that way. Wasnt very busy when i went so naturally the service was spot on. I know a few people came in for food which wasnt available so possibly not the most informative. Beer was great.

Great potential, unfortunately the bar area was cold. It would have been great to have the log fire lit. Lukewarm coffee, lukewarm soup and stale bread! Disappointing.

The food and pub itself was lovely but the service wasn't good. The younger guy was pleasant but the tall older lady seemed to be looking for a reason for us to not eat there. When we tried to order food at a pub where very few people were eating (at 5 pm), we were abruptly asked if we booked. When I said no I was told they had to check with chef (who said it was ok). She then inspected the next table reservation due at 7 pm and realised she couldn't refuse us for that reason. I honestly felt unwelcome here and this is now the second time with the same person.

Went for dinner, and the food, especially halibut, was excellent quality and well priced. Good service, relaxed ambience, and dog friendly.

The food was fabulous. My husband and I both had the steak pie, mushy peas, chips, and gravy - we highly recommend it! All homemade and delicious. This was a spur of the moment meal on our way from Th

The drinks were excellent but the service was surly, bordering on hostile. The person in sole charge was curt and unfriendly. They should invest in customer care. Vibe killed. Negative experience.

It’s a shame that the staff and atmosphere were abysmal in both this customer service and personal attitudes. I would not recommend to anyone visiting Kendal as it really put a damper on our visit. Up
