The Summerhouse in North Somerset

Popped in for a meal, spent £50. Two weeks later, a charge for £100 came through the post. Shocked and definitely will be boycotting this place.

Visited today for a local charity event. Have been before and food and drink are good value for money, staff work hard and parking is good but remember to validate

What an amazing pub to host a charity dog show! I only had a coffee but was served by super friendly staff. It is so nice to be made so welcome as a dog owner and I will 100% be back again for a meal. Thanks to everyone involved.

Very popular pub, went for meal during half term, found it lacking any joy. We ordered, kids meals came out drier than shoe leather, clearly hot holding for certain items was being done, but it wasn’t needed as it was very quiet. Everything felt a little grubby, cutlery had to be collected yourself (which is fine) but it was by the entrance and anyone could have coughed or sneezed on it walking past! Shame as have been before and enjoyed it!

Had a great time at The Summer House! Kaylea was so friendly & told us about the Cool Hand Cup. Great drinks & vibe! 5/5!!!!

Jackie behind the bar and our waitress was very attentive and jovial. The meal was speedy and for "pub grub" was exceptional, the chips being crisp and delicious. We would highly recommend eating here at the summer house worle.

Lovely pub and conveniently close to the train station. The food is consistently good these days. Service always with a smile. Got served by kayleigh on this occasion who was very helpful. Happy to join some of the regulars for a game of pool as well last weekend! Apparently a new addition to the pub and a very welcome one.

A backward step removing table service as now its just chaos and not a nice place to dine at. Will vote with our feet and go elsewhere from now on.

Having previously been underwhelmed on an earlier visit last year, we thought we’d give The Summerhouse another try, and I am delighted to say we were not disappointed! The Summerhouse has truly transformed since the new management took over! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with friendly staff who make you feel right at home. The food has taken a major step up - hearty, comfort food, packed with flavour, and super decent value too. The team has clearly put a lot of effort into improving every aspect of the experience, from the enticing menu to the welcoming service. Whether you’re stopping by for a casual drink or a full meal, The Summerhouse now stands out as a fantastic choice. Highly recommended!

Super kind staff, lovely experience. The meatless carvery and meat carvery were both great. All veggies tasty, and we loved that the gravy was vegetarian. Will definitely be returning!

Service very poor, totally unattentive, waitresses totally oblivious Main meal sent back, Steak as tough as leather.

Called in for a meal before leaving for home after a week in WSM. The meal was well cooked and presented by friendly staff, everything was hot and tasty. Reading some of the other reviews I agree that the server should mention about registering your car on the system, if my wife hadn't noticed somebody registering their car I wouldn't have known anything about it.

Come here often with friends and family. Food is always hot, and service is quick. Staff are always smiling and will go out of their way to ensure you have a great time. Was also pleasantly surprised at how great it is for sport - came here for an England game during Euros and the atmosphere was fantastic! Staff very attentive, ensuring parking is accounted for to avoid any fees. Generally love it here.

Good Carvery and fantastic staff. Served quickly. Nice to see Manager in the restaurant with her team. New parking system, just need to enter your car registration inside the pub. Team more than happy to help if you are unsure how to do this

Cannot believe I have been issued a ticket for parking in your car park to have lunch with friend neither of us noticed any signs about car parking and why would you even look when using your restaunt with plenty of parking! Surely it would be a good idea when the servers came to take your order you were told of this!! I’m very upset about this as don’t get to see this friend very often.

Really good carvery. Meat was tender and the veg was perfect to my tastes not undercooked like a lot of places , it was just right . Service was great with a lovely atmosphere. Will definitely go again .

This place has improved immensely of late - was long queues at the bar - now efficient and friendly service A happy place - just bring back TNT sports so we can watch the rugby there again

What a great pub, we had a really nice meal with reasonable prices. The staff are all very helpful and happy. Val, the new manager, is very friendly, she came over to introduce herself. She clearly knows what customer service is all about! unlike the last manager. Gladly come here again!

Went back. Under new management again. Last couple of visits had not been the best. It was like going back into the summerhouse we live. Great food and service. Tracey greeted us warmly and we were made to feel that we were the only ones in the place. Thanks Tracey. Glad to feel the old vibes back in the place. Be back soon

Simply awful. The worst meal out in a long time. Dodgy scampi and gravy on the chicken pie and inedible macaroni cheese. Perhaps we made poor menu choices, but the damage is done. Wouldn't recommend and wouldn't return.

Good carvery; reasonable prices and pleasant staff Service was a bit slow for starter & pudding, but they were pretty slammed.

My daughter took me our on Saturday 9th of March for a early mother day meal. When we got there we was told the upstairs was full but found a table downstairs. We ordered our meal which took 45 minutes to arrive. Well what can say it was so bad we sent it back and it come back the same grrr we completed but again they did not care the pudding was the same and again sent back .so please think before you eat there l will not be going again

I arrived parked my car ordered my food amd got my parking refunded. I ate my food which was disgusting, spent an hour talking to my 5 friends and left. A week later i received a £60 fine for overstaying by 17 minutes. I will never go there again. You should not have to stress about rising a parking fine when you have bought food in a pub. The parking company and the pubs owners should be ashamed of themselves. The hospitality industry is so say on its knees and this is the sort of stunt they pull to recoup their losses. They don’t deserve any customers at all and I hope they shut down soon.

Awful service, very rude staff, total disappointment all round for what should have been a happy birthday celebration. Organisation from the team was shocking, the wrong meals were bought our, food was cold and we ordered well in advance too. Would never recommend to anyone for anything! Had a lovely dinner at The Summerhouse. John and Chrissie were great hosts, Johns one liners are hilarious. The food came out hot and quick. Lots of choice on the menu too. We sat in the table service section and the service was great. Looking forward to our next visit.

A word of warning! Met a friend at the Summerhouse for lunch recently. Paid for two hours parking. Food was so slow that we were there longer than two hours. Yesterday I received a £60 parking fine, which had to be paid within 14 days of the date of the letter or the fine would be £100! The letter took over a week to arrive so I didn't contest it. An expensive, unpleasant experience. I don't think we shall be visiting the Summerhouse again.

Dont ask for soup. The nowl wasnt even half full. Shame it was lovely. Also you have the hassle of paying to park. Which you do get back...but do you really want aggro of a machine that doesnt seem to accept anything but contactless and doesnt like money either. No..i think you should visit Hobbs Boat at Lympsham. That gets my vote everytime. Sorty Summerhouse..you ve lost our custom.

Meet up with friends on Saturday for breakfast and a few pints afterwards. The service from John, Tracy and the bar staff was excellent. The food was very good and a great time was had by all.

Poor quality food. Won't be returning. Smothered chicken was dry and no sauce. Very cheap ingredients. Like a hungry horse quality of food but more expensive. Disappointing.

Very disappointed - over 1 Hr 15minute wait for food! Had to check with the front of house team twice about where our food was. No apologies for the long wait. We usually have a lovely time here but seemed very chaotic tonight !

Disappointing experience, wanting to order food at 8.45pm and abruptly told by a female member of staff that the kitchen is now closed. This is after being in the bar area since 5.30pm. Not impressed.

Visited for a meal as haven't been for a while and remembered the great pizzas we always used to get from here. Unfortunately the standards have dropped significantly and the pizzas are not what they used to be, which is a pity. Please bring back the same quality of pizzas I knew you for. Staff were friendly but didn't offer anything in the way condiments or cutlery when the food arrived. The picture I've attached is of a whole pizza, looks like a kids one. My father's steak was 'OK' in his words. All in all a mediocre evening.

Really nice spot for a family meal out. Very reasonably priced and Val and Julie, who served us were lovely and helpful. We will definitely visit again as a family.

Absolute fantastic experience and so surprised they managed to cook my husbands steak baguette to perfection (he likes a blue steak). Visited our local one in Dunfermline today, ordered the exact same meal and it was terrible, Well done to the team here for changing our view on chains. We will definitely visit again in September when we are down again.

We popped in for lunch on the way home. Good pub food that is value for money. The place is dog friendly but there's a lot of steps and levels.
