Just stopped for coffee sat outside in the grounds, free parking, lovely spot to walk your dog & take a break. Menu looked good.

Arrived on time and were shown to our table by some very efficient staff. We chose to sit inside and although it had been very hot in previous days, today was cooler and all doors were open to allow a cool breeze (and ventilation) in the dining area. All necessary COVID arrangements were taken by staff and customers, which was very satisfactory. As One of the party was driving we had a large coffee and 4 tasting wines prior to the cheese platter being served. One in the party was gluten free and was taken care of with some lovely bread. It is essential to book as all tables were full and there were customers waiting for their reserved time, which in itself is a very good recommendation. Only point to note, that the serviettes were a bit flimsy, but have already booked again and taking family members

We popped in here on our way back from walking Sugarloaf. We had the Mixed Share platter and a glass of rose. What a fabulous lunch. The weather was amaxing! The roads to get here are a little scary (just enough room for 1 car, not many passing places. So take care). Worth the roads though to spend a nice afternoon. A must vist

We stayed in a holiday cottage nearby and came here for a local wine and cheese tasting. Both were delicious it was nice to try wine we had never had before. Amazing view of the sugarloaf mountain as we enjoyed our food. They have a good selection of local products to buy and we came away with some bottles of wine and local Welsh chocolate. Would definitely return!

We stumbled across this as we were lost. The lady helped us with directions. After 3 hrs going to the top of SugarLoaf mountain and back we went back here to enjoy some food. Unfortunately their savour food had finished but we enjoyed lovely cake and good coffee.

This restaurant was recommended to us by our host whilst staying in nearby Newland in the Forest of Dean at Easter. We booked on-line (easy process). As we approached the restaurant we were delighted to see that Church Street was lit with festive lights (no it wasn't Xmas we visited at Easter!) which made for very pleasant start to the evening. The restaurant itself was also twinkling with decorative lights - again very pleasant. We were given a very warm welcome by the host and shown to our table. Menu's were produced and drinks order taken in short order. The regular menu is varied with specials on the blackboard - so good choice of meals. Our food was extremely well presented and was very tasty. My wife had fish and I had beef bourguignon - both were excellent The restaurant had a very relaxed atmosphere despite being busy. The host was attentive but helpful. Do book ahead - several people were turned away whilst we were there. Also please note that they closed the door to new diners at 8pm when we visited. A very enjoyable evening - we will definitely visit again when in the area.

My favourite pub. Chloe and Jim are terrific hosts, the food is amazing and they have Butty Bach Wye Valley beer. What more can you want from a village pub?!?

A great choice to stay here while walking the first stages of Offa's Dyke. Arrived to enjoy a couple of pints of Wye Valley beer and a friendly welcome. Our room was very comfortable with nice little touches such as charger cables, etc. Evening meal was delicious and bettered by a wonderful breakfast cooked by Chris, the host. A great spread of fruit, cereal, full cooked breakfast, toast, coffee set us up for a long stage. Would heartily recommend the pub for a beer, meal, night or ideally all three.
