Hired the Strawberry Teapot for Afternoon tea on Sunday 1st for my uncle’s 80th birthday. Was a breeze to organise. India and the staff were helpful with allergies and vegetarianism and the food was lovely! A delicious afternoon tea at The Strawberry Teapot combined with a trip down the river with the lovely people at the Stour River Trust made for a perfect day! Thank you!

We booked afternoon tea here and were not disappointed! A warm welcome awaited us. The team were friendly, nothing was too much trouble and the food was delicious! The 40’s music and the friendly banter was a great backdrop. I would definitely return if I was in the area again, and the cheese scones looked so good that we bought a couple to take home and try.

I ALWAYS GO TO THE STRAWBERRY TEAPOT WHEN I GO TO SUDBURY. I HAVE A FEW ALLERGY PROBLEMS BUT I ALWAYS FEEL SAFE EATING THE DELICIOUS FOOD THERE. NEVER HAS THERE EVER BEEN A CROSS CONTAINATION PROBLEM. THE STAFF ARE ALWAYS SO FRIENDLY/OBLIGING, AND NOTHING IS EVER TOO MUCH TROUBLE FOR THEM. THEY ARE SIMPLY THE BEST PLACE EAT IN SUDBURY.

Lovely little tearoom. Cute decor and friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable staff. I had a delicious omelette followed a piece of raspberry ripple cake and then took home a cheese scone. My friend thought that the gluten free scones were the best that she’d ever tasted! I really wish that I lived in Sudbury..

What a wonderful find this little shop is. This provider offers gluten free to the highest standard since the owners daughter is a coeliac. Therefore, you are able to spoil yourself with their afternoon tea. The sandwiches, scones and cakes were excellent and we had to take away doggy boxes as we could not finish the generous three tiers of delight. Proper tea served as in actual tea leaves and strainers. At their reasonable price, spoil yourself and meet this delightful, professional mother and daughter team.

Really Enjoyed our afternoon tea at the strawberry teapot in Sudbury. Staff were lovely, loved the vintage world war vibe in the café and all the old photos and historic items. The food was lovely and fresh, I particularly adored the hummus and red onion sandwiches, so tasty! and the bread was lovely and fresh which is great as a lot of places leave the bread standing for afternoon tea's out for ages and by the time you get them, they taste stale but not here! The cakes were lovely and so fresh, really yummy, great selection and there was too much for us to eat so we took the rest of the cake home in a box! will definitely come again, the price of £16 per person for a afternoon tea is also great and the quality was better then some hotels where you pay £20 plus for afternoon tea. the only thing i would like is to be able to ask for a scone without raisins in as a option but still yummy scone so thankyou!

To the wonderful owner and staff at Strawberry Teapot, My story starts with a trip planned to this cafe with my mum for her birthday, and will hopefully help to reassure other wheelchair/powerchair-reliant customers :) Accessibility: The owner had a conversation with us to tell us about their accessibility (there is a step at the front of the store, but access to the outdoor seating behind the cafe without steps). - I use a powerchair, which can't, unfortunately, be lifted up with the help of others, but other smaller wheelchairs will still be able to be lifted up past the step on the front door. Despite this powerchair hurdle, we sat outdoors, which was beautifully arranged with summer plants. Food Allergies/ Dietary requirements: My family is a mix of vegetarian, vegan, and meat-eater people, which was no problem at all to the staff at the Strawberry Teapot! We had booked in for an afternoon tea and were served three separate food servings (a three-tier cake stand per person), filled with sandwiches, cake, scones, and biscuits. These were delectable, and we were even allowed to take the cakes we didn't eat home with us (they were too good to leave behind!). Overall, we had an absolutely wonderful time and will not hesitate to book again. If I could, I would fetch fresh scones every weekend (they were THAT good). Thank you to all the staff there that helped to make the afternoon tea special, you are all wonderful people, and I have no doubt that you will make every other customer's experience just as wonderful. Couldn't recommend highly enough.

Popped in quite late in the day for lunch for four after a long walk. Beryl the dog was given a very warm welcome and was offered snacks straightaway. Lovely personal service by friendly chatty staff. We ordered sandwiches and hot drinks, which came with a choice of plant milks. Although we stayed long after the shop should have closed, we were never made to feel rushed. Thank you for a lovely afternoon, and a special thanks from Beryl for the bacon x

Took my mum here for Mother’s Day afternoon tea and we had a really lovely time! The food was so nice and plenty of it - we took a couple of our cakes home with us as we were too stuffed to eat it all in one go! Extra sandwiches and top-ups of tea and Prosecco were offered, and there was such a lovely extra gift included for my mum that was a lot more than we were expecting! Finally and most importantly for us they were great with catering for a couple of food allergies and intolerances we have and it was no problem at all. Thank you!!

What a find! My daughter has coeliac disease and eating out can be a nightmare as so few places grasp the issues of cross contamination. Not here! Every measure has been thought of including separate milk frothers, toasters etc. No need to interrogate the staff or feel ‘difficult’. And everything was absolutely delicious from the tea to the beautiful moist cakes (no dry gf offerings here!). We will be back - often!

We were greeted by Amanda and ordered afternoon tea for two. The tea pot was massive and contained loose tea for which a strainer was provided. The tea remained very hot for at least another hour. We each had 4 cups, with approximately a quarter of the tea pot remaining. A selection of ham, cheese, egg mayonnaise freshly made sandwiches served on white and granary bread (some with Branson pickle) and oven baked crisps were quickly consumed, hence the empty bottom plate shown! Followed by perfect chocolate brownies, delicious millionaires shortbread (oh, that fudge filling...) strawberry and vanilla sponge, heart shaped soft biscuits, fresh strawberries, huge sultana scones, clotted cream and strawberry jam. A simply divine, relaxing afternoon experience. The tea shop is a delight, with nostalgic music and varied items of interest on display. An impressive display of alternative in-house made cakes set the scene, indeed whilst we dined, freshly baked cakes were being prepared.

This small Tearoom tucked into Friars Street is a delightful experience. The staff are very friendly and greet you with a warm welcome. Breakfasts are served until 11 am including five Vegetarian / Gluten options. As well as cakes, tasty scones and chutneys there is a good selection of lunchtime snacks including the mushrooms - yum.
