The Stormy Cup in Ards

Disappointed to have traveled her after it is advertised as dog friendly to be told that they no longer are.. no idea why but it has put me off going back sadly

Great place to go if you like to be ignored. I’ve been before and it took ages to get served then. Today was no exception. Was asked to sit down and waited 15 minutes. Nothing, and it wasn’t that busy. Then another table who has been waiting nearly as long went to the counter to ask for service. When someone came to take their order two other tables had filled so he started to take their order. Could have said something but I had had enough. Not be back.

I have quite literally just had ‘the’ worst ever meal in my life. I still cannot believe how bad it was. I ordered a veggie burger with salad and the veggie burger was indescribable to look at or taste. It was tasteless of flavor/s, hard to chew, extremely dry, burnt and I think it had been pre-cooked stood for sometime. The reason why I say the latter is because the burger arrived within less than 10 minutes from ordering it. I could not work out what was in the content of the burger. I couldn’t see a single bean, vegetable, pulses, peppers, carrot, etc etc… I complained to one of the staff members but declined to speak to the manager because I was so annoyed, disappointed and dissatisfied with what I had ordered and paid for. I would like to recommend one of three options: either cook the item fresh from the point of order, change the quality of ingredients or change the cook. Sadly, I would not recommend this cafe to any visitor to Donaghadee.

Staff were unfriendly.we were asked to pay when we first ordered (maybe because we are foreigners!!) We saw other people paying at the end of their meals!! Our food came with dirt and a hair on the salad!! As regards to the price ,it is very overpriced!! My recommendation is if you need a cup of coffee and a salad or sandwich..go somewhere else!

Called in for breakfast on new year's eve. We got a table and then waited for the waitress to tell us that they were only doing coffee and tray bakes,as they were closing early for New Year Eve. As not to just get up and leave, we ordered coffee's and scones. When the order eventually came , it was in paper takeaway cups. When we asked why not in proper coffee cups ,we were told because they were closing early , they didn't want cups to wash up. We witnessed other families coming in and sitting at tables and deciding what they wanted ,before being told they were not doing hot meals and closing early. Management need to either open or close,not a half service. Wish we had just got up and left. Will not be back.

Very helpful staff who display interest in their customers. Nice burger and great coffee. Either local or just passing through, it's worth calling in.

Food was way below par. breakfast consists if undercooked potato pancakes and more bread on top of bread, bacon with no taste, Eggs Benedict were fried not poached(first for me) and the sauce was cheese far from hollandaise, kids had chicken and waffles, cheap produce seemed frozen, no flavour. The coffee was nice, although we were offered no choice of any of the info stated on list. Young staff with an even younger inexperienced chef. Shame looks the part!

Called in on a Sunday afternoon for coffee & scones. Not only do you get to choose which coffee you’d like, you also get to choose the strength/bean - there’s not many places you can do this. Good sized cups and the scones were fresh and even better heated. Best of all, we got to bring the dog in with us. Prices and service were good - I would recommend.

We visited the Stormy Cup for breakfast on Sunday 3rd Sept. We'd relatives visiting from Banbridge and my son recommended his favourite breakfast spot. There were 7 of us and the waitress (along with a friendly customer) did what they could to accomodate us at a peak time. The service was great and the food was fab, as was the coffee with a range of strengths to chose from. The fact that the sun was out, and it was warm was an extra bonus.

I would have to confess, my wife and I are Coffee Snobs 😁. We are holidaying from Perth Western Australia. We saw this place and thought we'd give it a go. Man, were we pleasantly surprised. The range of coffee was amazing and the quality was brilliant. We had a light meal which was also fantastic. And the staff were super friendly and couldn't do enough. Highly recommended.

Most disappointing experience. All staff were very young and inexperienced. We had to ask repeatedly for 2 coffees, 1 sausage roll and 2 cakes!!

Nice spot - good menu - service is a little slow but the staff are friendly. I had a toastie - ham and cheese - it was quite good. However if you are on a time schedule this might not be the best spot for you. Even take out is a little slow. So give yourself enough time based on what you order.

My Wife and I decided to drop in for a coffee and after watching the delicious looking breakfasts making their way out to the table, we decided to order 1 each. All I can say is Wow! They tasted as good as they looked. Quality ingredients and cooked to perfection, if I had any room I would have ordered another. This isn't your normal catering fare, it honestly blew me away. The double shot of coffee was a great touch too especially as I like my coffee strong. This place is a real GEM! I will be back on my next visit to the coast! 5 stars all round.
