J's Plaice in Ards

Made the huge mistake of ordering from this place. I wish I'd read the reviews first. We were told that delivery wouldn't be long, 2 hours later we were still waiting. Rang the shop and was told it was "with the driver and wouldn't be long". 40 mins later still no food so we decided to cancel because expecting customers to eat food that's been lying in a car for over 40 mins is frankly disgusting. Tried cancelling but they wouldn't answer the phone, even hanging up a few times. Eventually the driver showed up (2 hours and 55 minutes after ordering) and we had to cancel it at the door instead.

Usually fantastic but was late by two hours and meat was overcooked and cold

food. brilliant and portions amazing. Just slightly late

it took over 2 hours for order to arrive chips were cold and fish was not freshest, 90% of this is in the bin only place fit for it

Been waiting for 2 1/2 hours will not be getting again from here, disappointed.

Absolutely ridiculous why take an order if use can’t get it delivered at a reasonable time , 2 hrs we had waited didn’t even bother to answer the phone when I was ringing

I had noticed this place loosing value but today I was charged 4.20 for 2 sausages wt*... the chips were burnt and actually cut my tongue!!! Very unhygienic too during my time today a woman had actually sneezed onto her hand and continued to handle food thank god it wasn't mine tho. I had noticed this place go downhill about a year ago but now with reviews,quality, standards along with prices I would be surprised to see them open this time.next year. DO NOT EAT FROM HERE!!!!!

Stopped on the way Home from a day out with the kiddies!! My sister and I got the burgers , chicken / beef, kids had burgers and sausage meals. The food was 100 % fantastic. The burger’s were cooked to perfection! Defo be back! Thank you .

Got my food 30 minutes after the collection time I was given, got some lovely anaemic chips :) guy in the shop too busy talking on his phone while he was cooking food. Young man working there was lovely and polite though.

Didn’t enjoy at all today chips were over cooked and to many crispy bits batter hard so not like yous at all. Food is normally lovely

Food was the worst ever,chips were tasteless and way over done,felt like they'd been cooked a few times, pasties the same chewy and tasteless.My order was so hot it felt like they'd been cooked three times then microwaved and that was delivered to Bangor,strange they'd be so hot literally had to wait to eat them.Never again, avoid this place,my food was rank😡😡.

The food is nice here but the delivery is absolutely shocking. 2 hours to wait for food is an absolute joke. Orders should not be taken if you can’t deliver in an hour. It’s not fair to make your customers wait that long

Proper paper wrapping much appreciated and food was warm despite longer journey. Would prefer fish batter to be less thick and more crisp. Nice mushy peas. Very pleasant helpful staff.

so we ordered around 3:30/3:50 on the 4th of may and the delivery time said 5:15/5:30. I have no idea why it was automatically pushed to 5pm ish but it did arrive when it said it would, it was fantastic food so all I have is positive feelings towards this place but when it asked star rating for delivery time I couldn't give it more than 2/5

I cannot say how amazing this order was.. first bite was like Disneyland to be quite honest I don’t think I have ever tasted a dish so good like that in a long time will definitely be back for more 😍😍😍

Ordered a beef and bird burger, received just a chicken burger and got charged 7.50 for it. Chips were bland and overcooked, sausages cremated, for almost 30 quid this is as bad as it gets. Would recommend you avoid and go elsewhere, this place used to be so good and I genuinely am shocked how far their standards have slipped

Food is generally good but ordered ASAP and had to wait 2 hours. Rang to ask and staff member said we are just really busy and didn't care for the 2 hour delay. No customer service at all. Really disappointed.

Delicious Chicken Tikka Kebabs on chips. Good portion size which is important to a greedy guts like myself.

My order which I paid for didn't arrive.The restaurant said they didn't receive the order from you.I have tried over and over to submit my grievance to Just Eat on the problem page, but it won't submit.😡

Quality of food wasn't what it used to be, fish is smaller but batter is thicker. The thick batter was undercooked. The new cash only policy is not convenient either.

They have always been my preferred choice for ordering. However, its quality and service standards have experienced a notable decline over the past few months. Initially, the issues were confined to inaccuracies with our orders, but I wasn't really concerned as minor things do happen. Regrettably, the most recent experience has changed my opinion and goodwill. While you would expect a level of at least minimal attention for an order of >£30, they chose to deliver the five burgers ordered, without salad as requested. I mean, you could have just read the order. But... the worst part was that the garlic sauce has gone bad, and resulted in me being sick for the past two days. Never again.

The food was great in itself, but the burgers had no salad. Please read the order you receive, it's not the first time a mistake is made.

Although it took a long time, due to it being busy, the staff communicated pretty honestly about the wait time, it came hot and was delicious too.

Ordered food at 18:05 with an estimated delivery time of 19:05 - 19:30. Made contact with restaurant 40 minutes later to inform of road blockage which subsequently cleared within 30 minutes of the update. Phoned for a further update at 20:06 as Just Eat status had changed to delivered. I was informed the delivery would be another 20 - 30 minutes and cancelled delivery as a result. 2.5hrs is unacceptable. Will not be a future customer.

I was really hoping to like this restaurant but unfortunately the food took 2½ hours to be delivered and when it arrived, the food was rubbery and barely lukewarm. I really don't think I'll try them a second time.

the kids fish bites were only two big pieces which tasted very doughy and as if the fish was frozen before battered andnot nice, and the kebab meat was over cooked,cold and half of the order was put in the bin but the chips were lovely.

Sorry its taken wee while to review as wasnt well x ordered the fish and was well impressed with the portion considering the size alot of local chippys r putting out and some r dearer x only thing this time it was slightly cold but few secs in micro and tasted just as good x to be expected as u where busy that night as u made all custs know via fb also we live in bangor so def won't put us off u know me I'm always honest but we absolutely luv luv luv here :-) x

I have bought from J's Plaice for about a year and always enjoyed their food but, I just checked out their latest price list. I think it's time to move on

Currently waiting over an hour and I live 500 yards away. Second time this has happened, 1 hour and 40 mins the last time. Clearly down to the delivery driver, nothing to do with the food. Won't be ordering again.

Onion rings are huge and we just love the battered mushrooms! Chips and gravy were perfect. I really have to emphasise just how good the batter is.....compliments to the chef! Portion size is ridiculously good. Delivery was on time, driver was very friendly. 5*

Food was stunning and plenty of it no complaints there 😋 however I made the order at 17.30 and it didn't arrive till 19.25 if I didn't have a hungry child it wouldn't have been such an issue
