Visited with my baby son for coffee and a sweet treat. Could not believe how busy the place is! The customers just kept piling through the door but this was no problem for the lovely Vicky and her team who seemed to get through them in no time at all and always with a smile. The staff I met were Vicky, Courtney and Michelle who were all so friendly and helpful towards someone who had never been before and found the place to be a bit like a maze, I couldn't see the sign for toilets so had to go up and ask where they were . I saw another lady clearing the tables and she was very quick and efficient. The scones are absolutely beautiful and so big and my son enjoyed his shortbread. Fantastic little place with lovely staff.

Garden centre was lovely but the staff in the restaurant could not have cared less. Visiting from Scotland asked what food was available and were pointed to menus on wall which flashed round so didn't have time to read. Settled on soup and wheaten bread, which was very nice, but on trying to then order a hot drink and traybakes were directed to end of long queue, even though there were no customers at the hot drink part of the counter and a lad there twiddling his thumbs. Very bad customer relations and poorly trained staff. We ended up walking out at such poor service.

Surprisingly basic menu in the restaurant, I opted for beef stew which consisted of overcooked beef, potatoes, carrots and far too much pepper. Felt funny afterwards. I have eaten there before and it was fine so I'm giving it a reasonable rating. They have a good selection of plants but are a bit pricey.

We called in for lunch at the garden centre. In fairness the food here is always good. The deserts are un real and definitely worth a try. The portion sizes are crazy. We had 2 of the panini's with bacon, chicken, brie and caramelized onion, it was nice. HOWEVER Their queuing system is possibly the worst queueing system in the entirety of Northern Ireland if not the northern hemisphere....if you want to call in for a coffee and bun, be prepared to queue behind everyone in the world ordering a 3 course meal, getting things warmed and so on. It just doesn't work at all, never has and never will. They really need 2 separate queueing systems, one for those just wanting a coffee and those wanting a sit down lunch. This is why you will wait in queue for around 20 minutes at times as its just so slow. If you are in the area the garden centre is alway an enjoyed place for a nosey about. It is pricey, very pricey but sure window shopping is fine.

Visited on Sunday and first went to cafe, though not very hungry. When you enter, the smell and the look of the food ALWAYS makes you want more than your really fit to eat. Had the absolutely delish potato and leek soup with chicken sandwich, and a raspberry cream tray bake, also a perfectly made 1 shot americano. My wife also had something that was lovely too ( cannot actually remember what she had!!! Price was just over £20+ which is very good for top quality food. Visited garden centre, was able to get everything I came to get. Extremely well looked after plants, which is not an easy feat with plants like cyclamen at this time of year. Decor of garden centre is very inviting and inspiring. Without reservation I would easily say that CG at Donaghadee, (also to be fair at Galgorm and Logwood) are one of the best garden centre groups in Ireland, if not THEE best.

Agree with other reviews that the restaurant is becoming expensive but it doesn't appear to stop people going to it. Was there Sunday past and it was very busy. Ordered a sandwich, almost £7 (panini costs £9 and toastie £8) though have to say it was freshly made, well filled and presented with side salad, coleslaw and some crisps and actually substantial enough for two. I suppose like others will keep going back as it is a nice hour out to walk round centre and have a coffee or something. Staff who served us in restaurant on Sunday were very friendly.

Always been a favourite for morning scones and coffee. They’ve stopped doing the vouchers for this, but have also hiked up the prices for tea, coffees, scones etc. Coffee and scones for two now costs over £12, even with a regular cup. They have also stopped doing the Sunday hot food buffet and now have a limited choice of hot mains that you can order, which are brought to the table. It’s nice to visit the cafe as part of the experience, but disappointing that prices have been increased to the extent they have.

We are regulars to the Donaghadee Garden Centre. The staff are lovely, the scones and traybakes are good too, but the price has steadily increased and today we were shocked at our bill of £45. A latte at £3.89 really is overpriced. A scone of £3.29. The bagel with bacon and cream cheese is nothing better than what could be cooked at home - no garnish or side with it. As a regular visitor to the coffee shop, I must admit the vouchers to creative gardens members are becoming less appealing! In the beginning when the vouchers were introduced, there were always two sets of free tea / coffee. This was a great mutual incentive - brings more custom to the garden centre and also the majority of folk will buy something to eat along with the complimentary hot drink. Then the ‘vouchers ‘ became 2 drinks and 2 traybakes £4.50, then £5, and have now increased even more. Gone are the complimentary hot drinks. No breakfast offer vouchers either, only 2 meals for £16. And sadly, there are better value early bird meals in venues close by. My mum and daughter tried the dinners recently and were disappointed. In saying that, morning coffee and scones are always enjoyed, but must admit, disappointment at the vouchers.. always nice to feel custom is appreciated.
