Although food is tasty and service good I think the paintings of a vagina and buttocks should not be put on a wall that is serving food! Its not nice! I know its an artist pictures that are for sale but surely there are other more fitting picture that could adorn your walls!

Another great brunch at this very popular eatery. Food is high quality, service is excellent and prompt. Something different to drink today, pot of ginger and lemon. Delicious, fresh and tasty. Well done to the team. Highly recommended

This is about the 10th time we have been here - for breakfast, coffee, lunch ad tea and as always were delighted with our visit. The food is superb, freshly made and locally sourced were possible. The service is professional and friendly - all the staff want customers to enjoy being there. It is very clean. We will keep using it with family and friends who put 'good' before' showy'!

I visited The Stores for lunch yesterday - the food is absolutely 10/10 (extensive menu and daily specials) as is the wonderful coffee. Staff are pleasant. The only sadness is that it is not possible to book a table - in my opinion, this is the only aspect that it would make it perfect.

I discovered the Stores during the pandemic and have visited the cafe plenty of times but I have only ordered take away. Their sausage rolls give the impression they are handmade, their cakes are delicious - their 'alternative' cakes e.g. with quinoa, seeds etc. taste extra good, which is not always the case with those kind of cakes. The bagel is amazing, ever since I tried it it has become the tasty standard with which I compare all other bagels I try. Their coffee is probably one of the best coffees around (not even comparing it to the industrialised nonsense such as Costa) and I am in LOVE with their mocha. An extra bonus is their beautiful artistic TA coffee cups, they're so beautiful that I keep them and repurpose them! The only negative is that anything aside coffee is on the pricey side. I could justify it if they were using premium quality organic products for the food, but perhaps not otherwise. If the prices were a bit more affordable I would surely visit most days of the week or at the very least on Saturdays for a rich brunch with friends. Prices aside, this cafe is wonderful and definitely worth trying.

Rude staff and over priced. We have tried the Stores before and found the staff weren’t overly friendly and the food was overpriced for what we had. Giving it one last try we got a take away and wouldn’t rate it at all. Wont be going back.

Took my Nan for lunch last week and what a delight this place is. Staff were lovely and the food was delicious. I had the bubble n squeak topped with bacon and perfectly cooked poached egg, my Nan had a smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich in soft white bread, followed by tea and the most delicious homemade granola slice. All in all this place is spot on for a nice bite to eat in a cute coffee shop setting. We will definitely be back.

Went here for a second visit with family and managed to get a table. the food was very good and staff were friendly. You are not rushed to order, but you have to go to the counter to order and your food is brought to you. That does not deter me from going as the food is very good as is the quality.

I found The Stores advertised in a local magazine and thought it looked lovely. One Sunday we drove to the beautiful village and had breakfast there. I am now a regular and food is always so lovely and varied due to the specials board. If I can't fit a slice of the delicious cake in when I'm, I'll always get some to take home for later.

We love The Stores and often visit at the weekend for brunch. The vegetarian breakfast is fabulously filling and great value for money. Food is cooked fresh to order and there is always a lovely selection of salads, quiches and fresh sandwiches, generously filled on delicious fresh bread. Make sure to leave room for cake, the lemon curd cake being our favourite. They cater brilliantly and without fuss, for customers with food allergies, providing dairy free spread and a choice of non dairy milks. The cafe is light and airy and always spotlessly clean. Crayons, colouring books and toys are available to keep little ones entertained, which is a really nice touch. There is a small, peaceful courtyard out back, to eat al fresco if the weather is nice and well behaved dogs are welcome outside. The Stores is also wheelchair accessible. We particularly love the fact that you order and pay at the counter, which is great if you are short on time.

A little gem tucked away in a small village. Lovely atmosphere, lovely food. Cakes look amazing and I hear they’re yummy ;) I usually go for breakfast which is always good - I’d maybe head there more for lunch but usually only one (maybe two) veggie option namely the tart and salad, which ARE delicious but if there were other options, I’d probably arrange more lunch dates there too. 100% recommend.

Went there with some family who live in the village and we had a choice of Pub and The Stores, we made the right choice. The menu is not large but everything is cooked to order and is of a very high standard it has a modern twist to the normal image you get of a tearoom with fancy teapots and Gingham Table cloths none of that nice eclectic mix of tables chairs. The service is good you order and pay at the counter but staff/owners are polite and friendly. we will definitely go back again.

This was our second time here and it did not disappoint! I had the vegetarian cooked breakfast (mushrooms, beans, egg, tomatoes, toast and bubble and squeak) my husband had a pulled pork bagel (it was 11.30am) it was great food and I really like the laid back feel of the place. the children’s lunch menu was spot on and there are a few table toys too, the only downside is the minimum parking but it is a village so to be expected. We tried the cake on a previous visit too and that was delicious and a great selection. Overall a lovely little gem I will look forward to re-visiting.

Since moving to Essex from London I struggled to find anywhere with the lovely brunch and atmosphere I was used to finding in independent cafes in London. But then I found The Stores. Hands down my favourite place for breakfasts and brunch and even lunch! It can get quite busy during the week at lunch time, but I’ve never not been able to get a table. It’s very clean, excellent service and does great food. The only downside is the lack of car park but there is free on road parking nearby so it’s all good. Last year my husband asked them to make me a cake for my birthday and it was huge! And absolutely delicious. A must try!

My OH and I called in to Rossini's on Friday evening for a quick bite to save cooking. The restaurant is in a cordoned off section of the Two Brewers Pub, and although the pub itself seemed quite busy we were surprised that there were no other diners in the restaurant area. The restaurant area is decorated with artificial plants, vases and pots, and photos of Italy - it's not really flash but feels cosy and like a little authentic Italian family neighbourhood restaurant. Service was excellent, both of our servers were friendly and chatty, and despite being the only diners we didn't feel uncomfortable or unwelcome which can sometimes be the case. Food was first rate, again nothing flash but authentic and reasonably priced pasta, pizzas and main course grills in good sized portions. My OH had Arancini for a starter, I tried it too and we both thought it was very tasty. I had a spicy chicken, bacon and tomato penne and it was very spicy but lovely, my OH had the house pasta which he declared very good. We were both too full for desserts but next time we will save room! I do hope Rossini's gets more customers as they deserve to succeed, it is so nice to have an authentic and well priced Italian in Chelmsford instead of all the chain restaurants and over priced 'special occasion' restaurants.

Last year I was doing hospitality and catering level 2 and I was waitering in this restaurant so I know what it’s like. Then I thought why don’t I just see what’s it’s like as a customer? Came today and OMG! I love it. Food was brilliant! I ordered a scotch egg (it was really filling but it was lovely), sweet and sour pork with fried rice (this meal combined brilliantly!), and profiteroles (the choux pastry was good and cream and chocolate was amazing). The service was good but as I learnt last year how to do posh waitering you have to serve from the left and clear from the right and you have to do de-crumbing e.t.c. They didn’t do de crumbing or the serve and clear as they forgot. I understand that. But even though I absolutely loved it (it did feel awkward as I was a waiter before here but you can get used to it! 😂) Definitely will come again! Thank you princes room restaurant. And well done to the waiter! 😁😁
