Great pub and very nice garden but the happy hours is killing it, we waited twice for 20 minutes for 2 pints.

I like the pub for a drink, but the food was very poor. We had the fish & chips. The batter was far too thick, almost dough like. And the fish tasted almost like it was off. Wouldn’t recommend. The issue was with all of ours, so wasn’t a one off.

Marika, fatima and gus gave us the best service, great food, great drinks even better customer service 100 percent would recommend for a fantastic time great atmosphere and happy hour deals 10 outa 10

Recently came here with my cousin for a catch up, we had the best time, we ended up staying wayyy longer than intended and loved every minute of it. Special shout out to Fatima, who despite pulling an all day shift had an awesome attitude, was super knowledgeable and gave top notch service, and to Gus for some of the best espresso martinis in the Clapham area.

Good beers, friendly staff. If I hadn’t ordered food it would have been a good review. We had the burger and fish and chips, tasteless. They clearly buy microwave food from a cheap supermarket and charge as if they have a kitchen. Overpriced and barely edible. Drink here all you want (it’s great!), but don’t eat!

Went here with the family on Christmas Eve. Staff were super helpful and no problem with a pram and a baby only a few weeks old. We really enjoyed it.

Booked table for Christmas lunch Thursday 20th Dec. Unfortunately, as I didn’t specify the booking was for the festive menu we couldn’t enjoy that specific three course special menu which was running a lunchtime offer and the reason I booked. There wasn’t a place to select this when booking online so I suppose this is written in special requests. Despite disappointment staff went above and beyond to make this a good occasion checking other options with the chef. Christmas specials (inc Turkey dinner) worked out well. Service really very good, check back, offering more drinks and in good humour. Food tasty too.

We had a great time here. Work Christmas party. The food was really good, staff was kind and professional and we were lucky enough to sit next to the fireplace, which was a HUGE plus! Highly recommended. 🙂

Oh my oh my absolutely delicious! Ordered the Seabass, was amazing one of the best dine in experiences ever. Fries were perfect so crispy! Will definitely come back soon!

Had a good Sunday lunch with my family. Went for the turkey roast as did most of the table. It was really good and I felt it was good value for money for a London roast. Will be back

Lovely garden on a summer afternoon. Not rammed like other pubs in the area. I wasn’t hungry but the Sunday roast going to other tables looked and smelt delicious so I settled for just a side of Yorkshire pudding and gravy to scratch the itch. It was so good I ordered 2 more! Nice staff.

What a fantastic venue, what a fantastic wedding reception! Robin and Rheann worked with me and my wife to plan our wedding reception from start to finish. Both were always on hand to discuss any details, of which there were many. At every step, we were guided through the process with both going above and beyond to make adjustments and provide ideas/solutions. We were afforded exclusive use of the venue too. The reception itself was spectacular. The staff were welcoming, professional, and attentive. Every guest said the food was delicious and that the bar, despite being three deep, served drinks quickly. Some went as far to say that it was the best reception that they had been to (though I’m sure that’s the done thing!). Thank you Robin, Rheann, and The Stonhouse team for making our day the best ever. We wholeheartedly suggest The Stonhouse if you are looking to host your wedding reception. (Circa 130+ guests)

It seems like a nice place, but I went there around 2-ish so the place was quite empty. I will try to get back there one evening to give a better review.

I used to love their garden but they’ve covered it in a way that it’s darker outside than inside. You can’t see the sky at all in their entire garden. Staff at the bar are so so not committed to serving too.

came for drinks last week, our waitress was great, but the way the manager spoke to her and others was disgraceful. I wont be supporting a business like this!

Waited over an hour for our drinks, when we asked where they are the manager very rudely told us she already sent the drinks out, we then got handed a bill with the drinks on never received. terrible customer service, I would avoid this place at all costs!

went this place today with a few friends, asked the blonde woman behind the bar what flavour crisps they had and her response was "did you not listen when I said it before?" I cant believe someone in hospitality is SO RUDE! the ONLY saving grace was our waitress who was lovely, but I would never go back again!

Mi esposa y yo, y la familia, tuvimos el inmenso placer de experimentar la fantástica hospitalidad en el Stonhouse, el sábado 7 de septiembre de 2024. Fue la ocasión de mi boda de tres hijos mayores (y dos hijas). El Stonhouse fue el lugar para las celebraciones nocturnas de su matrimonio con su hermosa prometida sarda (ahora esposa! ) El desayuno de la boda se celebró en un restaurante muy agradable que tiene un lugar querido en sus corazones. Después de llegar en un autobús de dos pisos que alquilaron, caminamos la corta distancia de la calle principal, a la casa de piedra. Los invitados de la noche se reunieron en el jardín esperando nuestra llegada a las 16.00 horas, disfrutando de Aperol, Prosecco y otros aperitivos. Una vez asentado, sobre las 16.15 horas, comenzó el primero de los tres servicios de comida. Este consistía en mini pasteles de pollo recién horneados, mini pasteles de bistec, mini pasteles de setas y verduras, mini wellingtons de ternera y tres tipos de rodajas de salchichas. Eran picantes, normales y vegetarianos. Llamarlos rollos de embutido es incorrecto ya que tenían unos 60 cm de largo, cortados en trozos de 3 - 4 cm de espesor, con una pastelería preciosa a su alrededor. Esa excelencia pastelera fue un punto culminante de los pasteles gruesos rellenos también. Dado que había 150 personas apiñadas en un jardín relativamente pequeño, el personal era excelente. Estaban negociando con grandes salvaguardas de pasteles, luego rodajas de salchichas, pero ni una sola vez perdieron sus modales ni el respeto por los invitados. Esperaron pacientemente para atravesar el pantano de los invitados. Se excusaron, tuvieron cuidado de no dejar caer nada o frotar sus productos contra los trajes de los invitados a la boda. Siguen siendo cortés, cortés y eficiente. Cuando llegó el momento de entrar para otra ronda de discursos recién casados, todavía quedaba una gran cantidad de este primer plato. Cada huésped quedó impresionado, con los mini pasteles y rodajas de salchicha. Mi hijo menor, de 18 años y 17 años menor que su hermano el novio, es un crítico gastronómico masivo, le encantó la comida. Además, sin duda desconocida para el Stonhouse, era la hija mayor de un famoso maestro panadero, que suministraba pan y productos horneados a los prestigiosos hoteles de Park Lane, entre otros. Ella comentó que la calidad de los productos horneados es "excelente". Esto dice una cantidad masiva, especialmente si identifico al Maestro Panadero en cuestión... no es un chef famoso, sino un panadero verdaderamente superior que ha estado en la cima del juego durante más de 65 años. De todos modos, mi hijo y su esposa recién casada, tenían un pastel hecho de múltiples quesos especiales, en lugar de un pastel de bodas. Siendo un poco difícil de ver, no me di cuenta de que era queso y se sorprendió cuando cortaron a través de 7 capas! Estoy bastante seguro de que el Stonhouse produjo este queso - los amantes deleitan. A esta hora, el servicio dos había llegado alrededor de las 18.00 horas/ 18.30 horas. Ésta consistía en grandes platos de todo, desde pollo, llama experta - parrillada, a bruschetta y todo tipo de ensaladas aderezadas, pasteles y pasteles. Una vez más, este segundo servicio fue delicioso, aunque se colocó dentro del pub en un estilo buffet tradicional. La presentación y la calidad de la comida fue excelente, al igual que la constante reposición de los artículos. Fue un apretón en el interior cuando todo el mundo entró para los discursos, etc, pero una vez que habían terminado, los invitados se decantaron a varias áreas del pub. El jardín y la pista de baile fueron los más populares. Alrededor de las 22.00 horas, se sirvió otro servicio de comida buffet con todo tipo de sabrosos platos calientes de carne y verduras. Para entonces, después de haber sido alimentado lo suficientemente bien durante tres días, solo había espacio para mordisquear, ciertamente en mi caso y en el de mi esposa! Una vez más , la calidad no podía faltar, el sabor era soberbio y todos los huéspedes quedaron convenientemente impresionados. El Stonhouse es un lugar increíble. Cuando mi hijo me habló de su intención, me puse un poco nervioso con visiones de pisos pegajosos y baños malolientes. Es realmente un lugar de primera categoría, vale la pena considerar si desea una experiencia íntima y de primer nivel. Los invitados hacen la experiencia, y estaban mi hijo y mi hija - en - amigos de la ley volados desde todo el mundo. Uno incluso vino de Brunei, solo por unos días para ser su padrino. Todo el mundo a un tee, añadido a la experiencia, pero era el Stonhouse y es increíble el personal que era la guinda del pastel (de queso). Al día siguiente, mi hijo tenía más de 90 personas en su casa en el sur de Londres con catering externo y carpas y un montón de bebidas. Fue genial, pero la conversación fue todo sobre el Stonhouse y el lugar increíble que era. Todos estuvimos de acuerdo, cuánto contribuyó el Stonhouse a la mejor boda a la que todos habíamos sido invitados. Por último, sería negligente por mi parte no mencionar a Robyn (Robin? , disculpas si son incorrectas) y su personal. Fueron increíbles. Mención especial merece Jean Michel, que tuvo que mantenerme hidratado debido a que sufría calambres severos e incapacitantes. Me daba garrafas de agua y sal, y ni una sola vez mostraba indicios de molestia. Mi hijo también mencionó lo amables, complacientes y serviciales que fueron todos para hacer que el día más importante de sus vidas fuera increíblemente memorable. ¡GRACIAS A TODOS! Si alguien logró llegar al final de esta revisión, por favor considere el Stonhouse como un lugar para su ocasión especial. Te prometo que estarás extasiado con la calidad de la comida y el servicio que recibes.

Fui al Stonhouse a comer en familia. Desafortunadamente este es uno de los peores restaurantes en Clapham. Comida promedio con personal grosero y lento. Tomó casi 25 minutos para llamar la atención de alguien al orden, luego fueron tan groseros, como si fuéramos un inconveniente. Tuvimos que gritar continuamente para llamar la atención de alguien cuando pasara por allí y cuando finalmente recibimos la factura era incorrecto. No volverá.

Showed up for a casual lunch with a friend and was treated to 50% off. Such a great summer treat. Sat in the garden, where there's both tables in the sun for sun worshippers and shade.

Nice decor but could be so much more. Services was unfriendly, verging on aggressive and not helped by having water spilt on me for which there was no apology nor an offer to help me dry off. I may also have had food poisoning given the diarrhoea I had after eating here. Food was mediocre at best and rather overpriced given the quality frankly. The schnitzel, while a decent sized portion was very, very average. Chips were overcooked. My companions’s burger seemed OK but again, very average. It was a busy evening so maybe the kitchen was feeling the pressure but I’ve absolutely no reason to come back here given the mediocre experience.

Read good things from their website; seasonal foods, produce from own farm alas expectations may have been too high. Food was ok but expensive. What bothered me was the continual messing up of orders. First the wrong drinks, the overcooked meat when asked for medium rare, then the fries that never arrived. The waitresses were inexperienced and there were only three of them on a packed Friday evening. I blame poor management.

Great food and nice beer garden

Probably the best pub in the area. Cosy, and tucked away from the high-footfall of Clapham High Street. The garden is dreamy! The food is pretty decent too. Worth a visit.

A good pub with a nice garden and a large selection of drinks. We were looked after by lovely Aimee who was prompt and attentive. The food however was mediocre. The prawns tasted as if they were prepared with oil used for frying eggs! Overpriced for the quality. Won’t be eating there anytime soon.

I enjoyed an excellent Sunday roast while sitting in the pub garden. Service was great and price was reasonable for the quality (17£ for an excellent steak pie with sides). The pub does offer local British beers, although I think they could offer a larger variety. Recommended, especially on sunny days.

Hi,the reason you didn't get 5* was because a member of your was a bit rude and very matter afact,I went to use the disabled toilet and your assistant told me that he would allow me this one time and in future I would have to go upstairs to the main toilets ,I tried to explain to him that all disabilities are not visible,his response was "I'm not interested". I am 72 years and are registered blind and have recently had a hip replacement and cannot do the steep stairs, make sense, can i suggest training for the staff to be more aware that all disabilities are not visible. My friends and I went for dinner on a Thursday night. The staff are friendly and the service was attentive. The food was to a high standard and my steak was cooked to perfection. I definitely plan to return soon.

Excellent food. But terrible service! Overcrowded but probably deservedly so.

Go to this pub regularly and usually have an amazing experience. We came to celebrate our engagement today but unfortunately our service was really disappointing. It took a while for our order to be taken, we then received our food before our drinks even though we could see them sat on the bar so they came warm. We then sat in front of empty plates for 20 mins at which point we asked for the bill. At no point were we offered dessert or further drinks. The bill came and the plates were still not cleared. We then asked to pay a certain amount each to cover our food bill and said we would leave a tip in cash. It was then assumed we were paying half by card and the rest in cash which again I corrected saying we wanted to pay for the food by card and we would leave a cash tip. But then it was insisted we pay the remaining £20 service in cash. I did say that the service wasn't compulsory to pay and that I said I wanted to leave a cash tip but was then informed that I had to clear the bill and pay the £20 tip which considering the service we received, I don't think was warrented especially as we left with the dirty plates still on the table. Not exactly the celebration we were expecting and disappointing considering we come to the pub often.

Was really happy with the service here and the roast beef dinner was divine!! Really good size portions and good variety of veg. I would say a little short on gravy but they did bring a second portion when asked. The waiting staff were amazing! So friendly and helpful when we requested to move away from a smoking table due to having my 10 month niece with us. They managed to organise it so we could. Definitely recommend coming here for a Sunday lunch - if you can get in that is!

The food is so good, delicious and very filling. Went for a chicken and chorizo pie to a change, wasn't disappointed but.. The roasts are top tier 👍🏻 can't go wrong.

“If you don’t like the rhubarb, don’t eat the custard” I must express my profound disappointment with my recent dining experience at The Stonhouse. Regrettably, the culinary journey unfolded at an excruciatingly sluggish pace, with the arrival of sustenance requiring an egregious two hours. In my audacious pursuit of a perfectly cooked steak, I dared to request a medium preparation, only to be confronted with a dish that flirted shamelessly with the realms of the cerulean spectrum. The male managerial demeanour was nothing short of an affront to civility, steeped in rudeness and an unwarranted arrogance that marred the evening. It became palpable that the staff's collective enthusiasm for their vocation was noticeably absent, casting an unfortunate pall over what should have been a relaxing evening. Shame. To end this monologue in a similar vein to how I started… if you can’t service your customers, take less bookings. The male manager kept saying “we’re too busy tonight and can’t keep up with the orders.” Well… it’s not a new pub? It’s been around for years. If you keep failing to do the basic things that are asked of you, maybe reflect? Sincerely, Disappointed P.s. shoutout to the lovely lady who took the lead in remedying the situation. You were a beacon of light in the otherwise dark night.

Honestly one of the most awful services I have ever experienced. I called up to book a table, they seated us outside in the garden area. When we arrived we had to ask a member of staff what table was ours as no one came over to us. Once seated, after 30 minutes of waiting myself and my boyfriend had to go inside to find a member of staff on two separate occasions so we could order food. After waiting 10 mins for no sign of a member of staff we left. Cannot believe how awful the service is. Would not recommend.

Lovely party venue - we had a small group and it was a great evening. Food delicious and varied, and the happy hour made drinks super reasonable.

Old style, large London pub with an area set aside for dining. Menu is good pub food. The two steaks and a bottle of wine for 40 pounds is a really good deal.

There’s a lovely fire roaring. I’m eating a delicious schnitzel. The staff are warm and friendly. Couldn’t ask for more. Special thanks to Amy and Melissa for an exceptional experience! (Get a side of gravy with the schnitzel)

My new favourite pub! The staff are charming, fun and helpful. Nice selection of wine and a great Sunday roast was had by me and my fellow diners - we were there for 2 and half hours, it felt so warm and cosy.

Nicely maintained gastropub a few minutes walk from Clapham Common. The staff were very welcoming and patient, and the food was very tasty. The atmosphere of the pub was very noisy as you can imagine on a Sunday at 1:30pm, but wasn't too outrageous. We were a party of two and those tables are mostly placed further away from the larger tables which was appreciated. The food was excellent, although we noticed only a bit warm when we received, and we didnt get our yorkshire puddings - I had to get up from my table to find a staff member to let them know they had been forgotten. This happened to a larger table that we saw, where they didn't bring even one until they asked for them.

Just got round to reviewing this from the summer. Beautiful roast, perfectly made, and lovely staff/atmosphere. Would definitely recommend a visit here. Would love to see what it’s like during the winter.

Had a lovely lunch on tastecard which offers a 50% discount during weekdays, making it fantastic value - had some lovely small plates, including the mezze sharing board which we would definitely recommend. Prawn linguine was spicy and had great flavour. Friendly, helpful staff and a lovely outdoor area with good heating. Thank you!

Lovely pub in a quiet area, away from the busy high street. Outdoor seating which is a plus. We had the beef Sunday roast which was a generous portion, presented gorgeously on the plate. A simple recommendation for hungry people is to get any sides marked "for two people" by oneself, it's a decent portion for a side but not humongous by any means.

We have been coming here for years but unfortunately it's not doing so good. The food we had was only average, but still quite pricey. Had to ask a few times for various things as some staff forgot. They also add garlic to all the Sunday roasts, which really doesn't add to the flavour and my husband can't eat garlic so we can't go for Sunday roasts anymore. Such a shame as it was such a good place.

Ate at the Stonhouse on Saturday evening. Great good & atmosphere & service is amazing! We were looked after by Jean-Michel who was super helpful & friendly, even though it was a busy night he made sure we had a great evening, bringing some olives with the 1st drinks, and keeping an eye on our table in a friendly but un-obtrusive way. He also looked after me last year when I was on crutches & has accidentally booker the wrong night & managed to get me a garden table. He is a real gem! Thank you!

Very lovely pub, just off of Clapham high street. Despite living a 4 min walk away for years, I hadn’t heard of the Stonhouse until recently, but I’m very glad I discovered it! Very friendly staff and a great vibe, with a great variety of foods and a cosy little outdoor area. Would definitely recommend!

A visit to the Stonehouse, long overdue. A delightful pub, stands out in the area by being open at lunchtime! A good offering of beers on keg with a couple of cask ales for the 'real' drinkers. Lovely service from the most amenable staff, "thank you both for that". Peaceful and tranquil, a real oasis for an enjoyable drink.

We've came here for dinner a few times. We've tended to have pies, which were reasonably priced and filled a gap but nothing super special. The pub itself is lovely, with lots of period features and exposed wood.

We went for for lunch on Fathers day. Service was a little slow but friendly. Roast was good quality and big portions. desserts were fine but limited menu. Set menu was good value.

I have been coming to Stonhouse for over 15 years. Not regularly but probably 5/6 times a year. The food is always good and excellent value. However, I have to say that the service is always absolutely top notch but they don’t hang around. This evening I met Melissa Middleton (I think). A lovely woman who keeps a close eye on things and runs a tight ship. Finding good staff is hard and Brexit totally fouled things up, but Melissa does an excellent job of training and motivating and Stonhouse is a great combination of good food and great service. Thoroughly recommend.

A friend and I went for a roast... we do not live close... we are now calling it our Local! It was amazing! The food was so good, service was amazing, the vibe of the bar was so chill and not pretentious! Cannot recommend enough! We are planning our next visit already! Whoop! Also costs are fair for the area so defo the place to go!

Staff are nice. Seated outside on lovely sunny day so was looking forward to our Sunday Roast. Sadly the food was a real let down. Mezze starter wasn’t great and then the roasts were bland with oily gravy, poor cuts of meat and vegetables too undercooked. Real surprise as we had high hopes for this place. Very expensive too. Probably ok for drinks here, but avoid the food.

Nice pub with good food and nice atmosphere. Food was good and fairly reasonable, although not spectacular. They have the football on, although TV screens are a little small so I don't know how many tables would be well places to watch from. Nice selection of drinks and service was good - overall a great spot and a little less busy than the main spots on the High Street, which is nice
