The Stoke Cafe in Plymouth

Perfect full English breakfast at an excellent price. All freshly cooked. Cafe has a nice relaxed friendly atmosphere. We're lucky to have this on our doorstep :)

Breakfast delivered was lovely fresh cooked well and a very good price would recommend, all served proselyte black pudding, sausage bacon , white pud , mushrooms toast, real good quality sausage as well ..........

1st visit to this lovely little gem of a place. Great breakfast and good value. Polite, very friendly & courteous staff. Thoroughly enjoyed it and I'll he back. 👌👌

Really lovely staff, they always have a smile on their faces. So very polite. Excellent food at a very reasonable price, absolute bargain! 10/10 experience every time, food portions are amazing and comes very fast!

The best breakfast I can remember. Good ingredients, carefully cooked and thoughtfully presented. If there could be a work around with regards the prepacked butter portion (I detest sachets/butter pats/ squeezy packs etc) I realise that no establishment can afford to put a dish of butter on the table, so make it a menu option, 'would you like your toast to be buttered?' Job done. That was a tiny winge, I will be taking my team to Stoke Village next week. Oh, lovely staff too! Lovely staff = lovely breakfast. Simple maths.

The owner has the blockhouse pub and I had an issue there with the customer who was rude to me so I left without having a drink and when I went in the cafe today for breakfast during Stoke fate the owner got abusive to me and told me I wasn't welcome in his cafe so I left because there are plenty of other choices and he is just an arrogant man who told me he'd spent 100,000 pounds either on the cafe or the pub and he thinks that gives him the right to be rude and offensive to people who live locally and have the ability to tell many people not to go there but to go somewhere else and certainly I won't be recommended him in his pub or in the cafe

Very clean. Prices competitive. Food superb. £7.95 for a large breakfast and coffee. Highly recommend. Staff friendly.

Lovely brunch. Couldn't fault it !!! Took a while to arrive but definitely worth the wait. Lovely and clean too !!! Would definitely return again and again 👍🏻

Very friendly and efficient cafe, such a relief to have one in Stoke at last. Great value for money and lovely breakfast, also had take away bacon baps too, great bacon and well priced. Highly recommended.

Clean, efficient and friendly. The food is very well presented and the cafe has recently been refurbished to a high standard. Free wifi is also bonus.

Was passing and called in for breakfast on our first visit to Stoke. A bright, fresh interior with comfortable chairs and clean tables. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a ‘large’ breakfast (minus mushrooms at my request), beans on toast and two coffees. Food was cooked to order and arrived piping hot, the bacon and sausages were very tasty and it wasn’t at all greasy. There was also a choice between tinned or fresh tomatoes which was good. Also, unlike many cafes, the toilet was bright, spotlessly clean and a pleasure to visit! Would thoroughly recommend the Cafe and we will be back next time we are in Stoke.

I don’t think I have ever given a negative review of a venue in my life but I feel obliged to do so now. I have been a regular and content visitor to this cafe for many years but have not returned since the pandemic during which time, it appears the venue has changed hands. On my arrival, the cafe was fairly quiet. I ordered a small breakfast with tea, but said that as I do not “eat” hash browns I asked if I could replace that item with something else, I suggested perhaps an additional fried egg. This small request was refused, but the lady removed the hash brown from the order anyway. I asked her why she had done this? The lady said I’d told her I did not “want” hash browns”. I corrected her and asked if this item was also being removed from the bill, it was not, so I insisted that I receive the item anyway. I took a seat, a large group then arrived and filled the cafe. I waited, my tea arrived, I waited, I drank all the tea before it went cold, I waited, 15 mins later part of the breakfast arrived, minus toast, I waited, a further 10 mins later the toast arrived by which time the majority of the food was already cold. I noted that all other diners received all elements of their breakfast at the same time. I can only assume that as my food took so long to prepare the kitchen decided to get it “out”, minus toast, to head off an inbound complaint about the long wait. The food was fine, but mostly cold by the time I got it. I will not be returning. I did not eat the hash brown.

No pretentions or fancy menu but a well presented selection of down to earth cafe food in a brightened up space with friendly helpful staff. My pic taken this week shows it closed but only because on this early return visit I mistook the opening details.

I visited, with my family. We ordered sausage, egg and chips. And a baked potato with cheese and beans. Both arrived reasonably quickly and wee well presented

If I could give more than 5 stars I would.By far the best breakfast I have had for ages. Service with a smile..🙂🙂

Came by this cafe as our usual had stopped serving full English. Was greeted by friendly staff with a flexible menu that were able to cater to our dietary needs. Decent hot drinks and a good sized breakfast at a fraction of a cost of big chains. Milk alternatives were also available for the dairy challenged. Fantastic customer service. Dated decor, but we came for the food, not the carpets. Ps please add some vegan breakfast options for the missus. Vegan sausages and bacon freezes well.

Popped in for breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed it. Was priced well and portion sizes were great. Decor was a bit outdated and no menus on the table but apart from that it was all good.

Fabulous large breakfast. Popped in while passing by chance. Absolutely lovely breakfast at lunchtime served with toast. Traditional style Cafe lovely friendly staff.

Not planning to rush back, but as far a a traditional english basic cafe goes it was ok. Menu suggests they are trying to diversify a bit, but I think you'd be best advised only to order what is in their comfort zone. For a cheap tea/coffee and something basic then ok.

What a wonderful find!! This cafe sells everything from Breakfast, currys, steak pies, roast, paninis! Cakes A huge menu to choose from they also cater for vegetarians! So had some veggie sausages in my breakfast. Great service, very friendly. Ill be back :)

Food and service are outstanding. The staff do all they can to help. Great food the roast reminds me of what my mum use to make. It's great well worth trying

Undercooked, soaked in fat, incredibly disappointed. Almost inedible. Would never recommend eating here. Disgusting.

The staffhave bad body odour.....the food is in a pool of fat...over cooked ....beans cold...rude service...when I complained the food was cold...they put it in the microwave...made the plate very hot to touch...never again....the staff lol like they all need a good wash...

Mañana ocupada por lo que estaba buscando un lugar local para trabajar para comer. Vi la señal de desayuno de todo el día y eso me hizo pensar. Cálida bienvenida. Buena selección de comidas y bebidas y precios muy competitivos. Atrapado con mi opción de desayuno y una taza de té para 5. 50. La comida fue servida rápidamente y presentada muy bien. Todo fue cocinado a la perfección y disfruté de toda la comida. Sin duda lo recomiendo para un desayuno o almuerzo parada. Bien hecho a los dos funcionarios de servicio. ?

Encontré este sitio por casualidad mientras corta pasado como soy nuevo en la zona. Es un lugar peculiar poco y sirve principalmente desayunos, tortas, patatas fritas, etc., etc., ese tipo de cosas. Está limpio y el personal es acogedor y amable.Sin embargo, la alfombra Dios mío, sí estoy en un humor pedante, pero tiene que ser la alfombra más escandalosa que he visto! Merece la pena ir a ver que!El menú es básico pero lo suficientemente "aunque si los propietarios nunca lea este, y estoy siendo una "gramática" aquí pero Nazi no necesita usar APÓSTROFES EN EL MENÚ. ! Es de desayunos, no desayuno (etc) porque por escrito, que significa que están hablando de algo que es propiedad de los desayunos.Ver, no tiene sentido. "chip" No, no "Bap", no "tomate" por favor!Patatas fritas. Panecillos. Los tomates.Me quedaré en el menú Tipo de arriba si quieres.El desayuno y el té tenían un precio razonable y se sirve enseguida. Relación calidad-precio" más "de primera calidad ni nada, pero era agradable y habría otra vez.De todos modos me gustaría mucho dar mi dinero ganado duro para un negocio local de una cafetería supermercado así merece la pena apoyar este lugar y volveré.

visited here with my daughter and her partner,food was average and service was okay too. Service was quick and came with a friendly smile. Nice to try.

Café local muy agradable propiedad y manejado en el medio de Stoke Village. El amable y atento personal, mezcla de los alimentos disponibles pero mi favorito es sus baps de bacon y un agradable café caliente.Tienen un esquema donde puedes comprar un café para alguien que es vagabundos y pueda necesitar una bebida caliente.Esto sólo muestra que las pequeñas empresas independientes locales más acerca de sus comunidades que la empresa Costa y Starbucks.

Nice little place, food served quickly, normal full English breakfast. Not the greatest quality but still good. Would probably pop back if in the area.

Near the bend in the road in Stoke Village, and quite busy on our visit, this routine caff was quite friendly and reasonably priced. Fair bit going on around here amongst the cheap eating places.
