Wonderful breakfast and excellent service. The only thing that let's it down is the lack of space.

Why is it that every time my husband and I come to sherborne in the evening the disabled toilet isn't doubled locked by the people that own the cafe. But when the owner's of the cafe see me and my husband in the town they always end up double lock it. We are just simple travellers that pass through, every now and then. The woman in that cafe will always say " it's that time of year again". They are nice and we do spend money in the cafe. We won't any more. As she ends up double locking the disabled toilet. Disabled toilets by law are ment to be 24 hour access. And its not the night after we arrive in sherborne. This happens every year we come through. I'm not disrespecting the food and coffee's we get from there, as it is good food. But why lock the disabled toilet. That to us is that they think we will disrespect the toilet. It's bang out of order and it stops others that need to use the disabled. Will never buy from them again.

We are on holiday from London and on day one wanted an all day breakfast. We had seen this cafe online and eventually we found it. It really was a cafe on the station which made us laugh. We indulged ourselves with one of the best breakfasts we have ever had. It's was scrumptious. Friendly and quick service and the people inside dining were all so friendly and chatty. Extreamly reasonably priced as well. What a world away from London. Thanks for making our first day great even though the weather hasn't. Highly recommended 👌

Very good value for money. They was very busy when we visited, so had to wait about 40 minutes to get our meal, but you have to expect this at certain times, so enjoy a cup of tea while you wait and all will be fine.

Fast service, fantastic food, amazing value, great staff, 5 star all the way. Gets better all the time. Best in town by far...cant say best in Dorset, havent been everywhere...but out of them all, the best in Britain👍🇬🇧👍 Just had a mega omelette 🤩

I just went there as my sister & I were quite hungry. We wanted some chips so we went to this wonderful café here in Sherborne. The ladies who served us were very friendly & helpful. I was very impressed by the chips!!! So beautiful cooked, so soft in the center & lovely & crisp on the outside. Best chips I've ever had tbh! I will be coming back for more sometime in the near future. Very happy w/ my experience here.

We were going to a countryside event and friends advised to ring ahead and order some bacon sandwhiches to take away. I called the day before and ordered 10 bacon sandwiches for collection at 0845 - we arrived and they were ready wrapped with a selection of sauce sachets. Great quality bacon, good sized sandwiches and a smile to see us on our way. Will defintely come back next time......

Perfect location for the train! We ordered a couple of breakfast bacon and egg baps and they were delicious! Crispy bacon and lovely and hot!

My partner and I had a full breakfast early on Eastr Monday morning. I added saute potatoes to mine and it nearly beat me such was the amount of food. The food was cooked to order and excellent. There was about a 10 to 15 minute wait while they cooked it which is fine if you're not catching a train. Allow yourself extra time if you want food before you travel. This is not a criticism as all the food is freshly cooked there and then. Lovely

1st visit a couple of days ago very pleasant -good panini and chat with another customer. So decided to go again today with my partner. Ordered 1 normal breakfast(£5) and 1 veggie (5.70) I didn't want the veggie sausages but when I asked nicely for a discount I was met with a frostly no. Then a few moments later my partner's egg accidently slipped onto the very grubby floor. We actually had to pick it up ourselves and ask for another one. When the replacement arrived we were told this would be an extra 70p. The staff were miserable, humourless and mean..hardly festive behaviour. I got the impression that they didn't want to be there and we certainly won't be there in the future.

On the slow side for the number of people being served. Otherwise good. We would go there again and allow more time before our train.

Hi, today on a planned visit to Sherborne I had already looked up where to go for a good freshly cooked breakfast and a decent cup of coffee. The Station cafe certainly hit the spot. Lovely hot food with fresh mushrooms and tomatoes. Filter coffee too. Sherborne town has lots of coffee and cake cafes but this is certainly the place to go for a full English. My only concern was that it did take a while. Luckily we weren't in a hurry.

Tried this Cafe after reading previous reviews. Excellent breakfast, excellent value & lovely staff. Prince Harry has visited here.Newspaper article on wall. A perfect set up for my lovely day in Sherborne.

After a late morning start and rushing into town for an appointment, I was after a calming late breakfast. The Sherborne Station Café provides this perfectly with its Basic Breakfast: sausage, bacon, egg, beans, hash brown - delicious! To be repeated!

I asked several locals where I could get bacon and eggs at 0830 on a Monday morning after a 100 mile drive to Sherborne. They all said "the greasey spoon at the railway station" and that, I regret to say, sums up The Station Café.

Great sausage sandwich. Seating outside so if you are dog walking you can still have a breakfast! Also pack food for train travel too and will do their very best so you have great food on the train you have booked to go on.

I've been calling here off and on over several years now. It's a small cafe, located within the station itself. Fairly limited food offering but the meals are always of decent quality and the staff are friendly. Worth a visit!

When I feel like a really good English breakfast with all the things I really love to eat my first thought is the Station Cafe.

Visité la estación Café última mañana de domingo con un amigo, me encontré con ella a través de una búsqueda en internet, mis miedos que en ningún lugar de la ciudad sin hacer un buen honesto fritos Domingo confirmando infundadas! El desayuno "Big Boy" aquí ha ido directo a mi Top 5 de todos los tiempos, con mucho el mayor apetito por satisfacer, todos los ingredientes correctamente, los huevos calientes ya pedí una recarga y café incluido. Bueno ver la antigua favorita de pan frito incluido también (muchos sitios no parecen ofrecer en estos momentos), que cuida de su salud. El personal que dirige el café era alegre y servicial y el lugar parecía merecidamente ocupado. Recomendado, si estás esperando un tren o no!

Pedí un jamón y queso sandwichera. Lo que normalmente sería en la mayoría de lugares. Un bocadillo tostado con Queso derretido y jamón.

Teníamos el desayuno (que es todo el día) y por £5. 50 incluyendo té (una taza gratis recarga) y estaba preparado a pedido, incluido 2 linda m. salchichas, champiñones, tostadas, huevos, papas, frijoles y una variedad de tomates frescos o de lata era excelente relación calidad-precio. Interesante decoración anticuada y servicio encantador y servicial.

Great bacon sandwich with decent bacon (not cheap) at a reasonable price. Gets busy especially early morning with the London trains every 1/2 hour or so.

We arrived Monday to be told no cafes in Sherborne only café we were looking for a full English breakfast we found out Wednesday that the station has a fantastic cafe fabulous brekkie very reasonable lovely people highly recommended 7.am till 3.30 couple of tables on the station so pooch came to. Trains every hour so very quiet.

I call into the station cafe when I'm going to the airport by train. I always have a bacon sandwich well done and always cooked to perfection. A lovely mug of tea with a refill for 50p. Friendly staff as well.

We were getting the train to Axminster and I was feeling quite peckish and I needed something to eat, so we arrived at this cafe that is on site and I decided to get a bacon sandwich. We didn't experience any of the dining experience however when i walked in to get my sandwich the cafe looked clean and tidy and the customers looked like they were enjoying their food.

I went to the cafe a few weeks ago to get a breakfast, the staff were so friendly and helpful. I really cannot fault them. The food was of a great quality and bacon was cooked to order. I didn't even have to ask for a tea refill with my breakfast as a free one was offered by the staff. I really cannot rate this cafe highly enough. Even at peak times the cafe is still better than any other in town.

We popped in for a breakfast the other Sunday and it was pretty good. The quality of ingredients could have been better but then you get what you pay for and the price was very reasonable. My biggest criticism was the ventilation as I came out stinking of cooked breakfast and could smell it on my clothes all day! If they could sort this out, I'd definitely go there more

The girls at the station cafe know how to cook an excellent breakfast, don't go if your looking for posh, it is regularly used by local working people, and the atmosphere is very friendly, I go regularly

So nice to hsve an non-chain cafe selling real food and drinks. Ordered a mushroom and egg bagette with brown sauce to go and a robust cup of tea. Contents freshly cooked, plenty of sauce and a really nice bagette - perfect way to start a ling day.The chirpy ladies were a delight - very friendly and entertaining.

This is a little gem known only to locals and commuters. It is staffed by friendly people including a charismatic Aussie guy who [like his female colleagues] exudes bonhomie and charm.They serve coffee and tea in mugs and give you a choice of builders' tea or a less strong brew. Their breakfasts are superb- both in value and content. However, for me the best on the menu are their bacon/mushroom and suasage/mushroom sandwiches/baps/baguettes. This is a friendly and thoroughly recommended place for a snack.

They do a breakfast bap (bread Roll) That lots of locals like as well as the train travellers. Havent stopped in there to eat, just a take away

I dont care who you are I know you love a hearty Great British Breakfast as much as I do. Im old enough to remember when this cafe was a dull and dank waiting room. However, since its conversion to a cafe of note it has transformed a wait for the train from a dismal experience into something to be savoured. Yes, you can choose from a varied breakfast menu, yes, you can tailor your dietry requirements, yes, you van buy and read you favourite newspaper whilst your order is freshly cooked. Planning into your journey an extra half an hour or so to enjoy a breakfast here is time well spent. If you dont, you will have cheated yourself.

this breakfast is so nice I don't know how we discovered it but it's really nice so pop down to Sherborne on the train and it's worth popping into the train station cafe.

I've eaten cooked breakfasts all over the country and I can honestly none has been able to beat the fare on offer at the Station Cafe! It starts with the quality ingredients, which are cooked to perfection by order and then lovingly arranged on the plate. Prices are more than reasonable too here, and the menu has a range of combinations and options to suit every appetite and budget.

For a station cafe it had a lovely personal touch. It was a pleasant place to wait for a train and much better than the usual franchises that you usually encounter at railway stations. You could buy a newspaper and enjoy a good cup of coffee whilst waiting. The staff were really friendly and attentive.

After a walk around the town of Sherborne, we ended up at the local railway station - naturally as I am a train fan. We discovered this gem of a place. a great choice of breakfasts to be had - we had the jumbo (see the picture) and it cooked to order - no coming out of a Bain Marie where it has sat for sometime. it is a small but friendly place which is obviously popular with the locals on weekend for a cooked breakfast judging by the numbers there. With the breakfast deal you also get free refills of the drink of choice - the co#ffe was a very good quality filter coffee. the owner as we were talking to him had lived in Auckland for 20 years and as we had only recently returned for the New Zealand after a living there for 14 & 44 years respectively; it was such a coincidence in such a rural setting.We sat out as it was a warm day and I got to see two trains arrive at the same time :-)).

I'm a regular visitor to this excellent facility, Sherborne is lucky to have both the ''Best Small Station'' and the best station cafe in the SW. The freshly-brewed coffee is by far the best in the region and eaily the best value at £1.10 a mug (refills 50p!). The food, served by friendly and helpful staff is simple and plentiful and whilst not gastropub fare is filling and well-prepared. The atmosphere in the cafe even on busy days is unfailingly welcoming, in short, if you want good food and drink, a paper and a smile then patronise this place - there's even drama! the staff having recently established a reputation for animal rescue, managing to save some kittens from certain death on the line in addition to snatching a squab fallen from its nest from under the wheels of a passing taxi.

I use the station café a lot and have never had any issue with waiting for food, yes they can be slower at times during busy periods but at least you know your food is cooked to order. If im in a rush and have a train to catch then as long as they are aware they will make sure you get your order quicker.Staff are always friendly and food is excellent value for money.Can honestly say the breakfast is the best around by far!!5*

Took 40 minutes to serve a bacon sandwich. If you are waiting for a train and wanted a snack it would be wise to go elsewhere.Rush hour? No my experience was on a Sunday!Shame really as I am bringing a large group to Sherborne and slow service lost them our business.
