Food looks great, friendly staff. Great beer garden ... but they could do better with their steak and Ale pie. Bigger pot or no pot at all for the pie. Don't serve baked beans from a tin with a pie that has gravy in it. Serve green beans instead. The mash was reheated, not fresh.

Very friendly and helpful staff - draft beer excellent - but the Beef and Stilton pie must be the best ever ? Very clean and comfortable bar and toilets - eat in out in calm and well stocked garden - will visit again just for that pie !

We booked a lunch slot at the last minute on our way home from holiday, and what a lovely village pub. The staff (Ben and younger chap) were very welcoming.We were sat at a retro table and chairs and ordered our food. I ordered the fish goujons ciabatta with chip s - which was just delicious! plenty of tartar sauce inside with the lettuce and fat goujons. My partner had one of the pizzas, which was thin, light and full of flavour. We highly recommend!

Visited with family after seeing great reviews online, not disappointed. First class country pub in lovely setting, extremely friendly and helpful staff. Restaurant really well organised for social distancing. A good varied menu, excellent food, large portions, great value, can’t be faulted.

We phoned and booked only a few hours ahead and got a table for 2 and our small Dog. The village is charming and the pub easy to find with ample parking. We were welcomed by the cheery staff who looked after us all evening providing an excellent service and were very knowledgeable about their menu and a real credit to the pub. We had the Pork Belly bites and Calamari to start, both were superb. Followed by Lasagne & Scampi and chips, again lovely. We even got a sausage for Perry, no trouble at all. If you are staying in the Weymouth area I strongly recommend a trip here as we thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Had booked this as had been to Abbotsbury Gardens / Chesil Beach during the day - booked online and got a response - the venue is just brilliant and lucky enough with the weather to sit outside - Annie and the team did a great job as they had just re-opened due to staff challenges and as a hospitality person, loved the way they interacted with all to explain the slight delay with food to help the kitchen - the food was well worth visiting - the maple pork bites and the parmesan breadsticks as "nibbles" were very tasty and then we had burgers and Affogato / Eton Mess for pudding - please go and support them but you will need to book!!

7 of us visited 29 July, we were so impressed with beer garden & beautiful building in such a wonderful village setting. Then the service from the staff was so friendly & welcoming it made our family outing so worthwhile. FOOD was amazing , generous portions , very well presented so yummy. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals.Cannot praise this Pub/restaurant enough...keep up the good work ...best we had whist on holiday. Thank you xx

We visited The Brewers Arms twice in the week we enjoyed in Dorset. The Sunday lunch is excellent and I'd highly recommend it, we both had the roast beef and cleared our plates in double quick time. The pork belly bites are also a joy.We went back on the following Thursday, the pizzas are hand made and extremely tasty, as is the bubble and squeak. On both visits, the desserts were excellent, I'd recommend the Eton mess and the rhubarb and apple crumble. The service is friendly and attentive and I urge anyone in the area to book ahead and visit it soon!

On holiday in Dorset and wanted to book somewhere for Sunday Lunch. After a bit of Googling we stumbled across this place and booked a table.We arrived to a lovely pub with the most friendliest of staff. We ordered two roast beefs and a small roast chicken for our 2.5 year old. The service was quick and the food was absolutely gorgeous. Possibly the best roast dinner we have had out in a long time. Compliments to the chef. We followed this up with dessert, which was equally as yummy.I would highly recommend booking a table at this place if you can. The only downside is we are going home next Sunday and are unable to eat here again! It will definitely be a must if we are ever holidaying this way in the future.

We booked this without knowing much more than what we had read here; couldn't find any menus, so we weren't sure how it would go!We were offered an outdoor hut (with heating if needed... it wasn't as we went mid-heatwave). We were immediately impressed by the garden, the socially distanced tables and huts, and the acknowledgement that we are all approaching the new freedom differently...We also loved that there was a complete separate vegan menu, but also plenty of vegetarian options on the other menu (some places seem to think these options are interchangeable). The food and service were fabulous. My daughter said she couldn't think of anything that could have improved her burger, and the three of us who chose the butternut squash lasagne were delighted with it. My son sampled 3 beers, and we loved the fries and desserts too.Friendly, competent service and easy access completed our enjoyable evening. It's probably fortunate we were just on holiday or we'd be back again and again...

We stopped off en route to Devon for Sunday lunch to start our holiday. What a lovely start it was. The service in this lovely gastro pub was great. As was the food. The pub is in such a gorgeous setting in a country village by a stream. I had the roast beef which actually tasted of beef! (I know that sounds like the obvious, but a lot of roast beef I have had lately hasn't.) Yorkshire pudding was big and fluffy. Lovely roasties and veg. Extra gravy requested by me came in a jiffy. This venue ticked all the boxes for me for a first class Sunday lunch.

3 of us ladies decide to eat in one of their huts my only concern was we would be neglected but the opposite happened we were served by lovely young boys and girl who could not have been more attending. Lovely roast for 2 of us and they upgraded a starter for us

What a find, situated in a lovely village. Our room was beautifully furnished, comfortable and cosy. Sadly we were only passing through but if I’m ever in this area again I know where I’ll be staying.

Great to find a proper British pub with a menu to cater for everyone. Several veggie/vegan options alongside traditional pub food. Good selection of beer and drinks, welcoming staff and good customer service.

In a non-cynical way, all boxes were ticked on our recent visit to the Brewers Arms for an evening meal. We were staying in Dorchester for the week, and had not been to the pub before, so the first things to impress us were the village and the pub garden. Inside the Brewers is smart, roomy and bright. The staff were friendly helpful and efficient - we felt well looked after. The food was first class and extremely good value. If we lived nearby. it would become a regular destination. Thank you for a very enjoyable evening.

We are a family of four adults and dine out during our 2 week holiday.This was one of our favourite pubs for a meal and we would normally visit a few time during our holiday.We booked a table here and were disappointed with the service and food, it certainly wasn’t as good as our previous visits.The pub had made a big effort to protect people from Covid by putting screens up between tables.The staff were not the happy welcoming people we had always encountered before.When we were ready to order a dessert, one of us asked a young male waiter about one of the deserts, he was rude in his reply so we asked for our bill and left.We didn’t leave a tip either which is unusual for us.Perhaps we might try it again next year and hope that it‘s like it used to be.

Had evening meal here with husband. Very friendly staff. I had excellent scampi and hubby had fish. Both really enjoyed the meal with some of the best chunky chips we have ever had.Booked again whilst there for Sunday lunch.Best to book in advance as all tables taken.

My wife and I enjoyed an excellent lunch at this family run pub on the outskirts of Dorchester. For a weekday, it was very busy, possibly an endorsement of the good food available.

We had such a lovely Father’s Day meal here today. Plenty to choose from and all our meals were delicious! The pub is full of warmth and humour and plenty of creative spaces to eat in the garden. The staff were fab too! Thank you!

We called here on the off chance and were so glad we did. The setting was lovely with a very attractive garden. The staff were very attentive and recommended beer and cider for us.The quality of the food was excellent and would certainly recommend the coronation chicken salad

We prebooked a lunchtime table inside but they also have tables and heated Brew sheds in the garden which looked delightful. There is a comprehensive menu with great variety. Food was delicious and there was a lovely atmosphere. Staff were efficient and very friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch (and the anecdotes around the walls) and will return.

This pub was very welcoming. We had a pleasant lunch and our dog was allowed indoors in the bar, I would particularly recommend the wood fired pizza.

We just love it here! We have just spent the last two nights before the country opens up at The Brewers... Not been here since just before Christmas. Ben & Leanne have worked wonders to provide the best that anyone could do to 'Keep the Customer Satisfied'. They have built a covered outside bar seating area and more recently 4 6 seater pods/huts for al fresco dining pas excellence. Their brand of hospitality goes way beyond expectations and the food is just brilliant! Obviously we couldn't go inside the pub to eat (not even breakfast)... But room service? Whatever we could have needed was right there... A top 'mark' in Marketing!

I ate a really great prawn and grain salad here - lots of interesting ingredients like roasted peppers and pickles. We were outdoors (Covid rules) and it POURED on our picnic brolly over bench seating, as our lunch was about to arrive. The brolly just about coped, and the soaked staff stayed cheerful and helpful throughout. All these new challenges for restaurants!

Had an early-evening dinner here on a Friday night. We had pre-booked to avoid disappointment because Covid capacity restrictions were in-place at all pubs and restaurants. We had a brilliant meal of simple, locally sourced food, expertly prepared. The areas of the pub we saw were absolutely spotless and the staff were taking great effort to ensure all guests enjoyed their evening. This pub also benefits from having a large car park and a lovely-looking courtyard garden area.

Despite Tier 2 restrictions, dinner at the Brewers was brilliant! A blazing fire to welcome us, cosy, dining areas with great local photos made us feel secure but kept atmosphere. Lovely staff too. We both had curries, and both were some of the best pub curries we ever had, well spiced and flavourful, really delicious. Just room for a shared gooey chocolate brownie with ice cream, ideal finish! So glad they’re keeping going, we’ll be back!

We ordered a takeaway from the pub last night for my Mums birthday and oh my lord... the food was AMAZING!The food arrived exactly when they said it would and it was stunning! I personally had the burger and once I started eating I simply couldn’t put it down!Thank you so much guys for helping us have a perfect evening to celebrate Mums birthday, we shall see you again soon :)

Stayed here for a bite to eat on the way to Weymouth, great find! Really good pub grub and lovely welcoming staff. Very Covid safe. Gutted we live so far away or this would definitely be a regular.

Me and my friend called up last minute on a Saturday night to see if they could squeeze in a table of two, luckly they did. The food was incredible, every mouthful was filled with flavour and good portion sizes too! The waiting staff were amazing (I can't rememeber the name of lady who served us but she was fantastic). We were sat at table 8 in window which was very comfortable. They had good measures in place for covid as well. Even the playlist was perfect. Thank you for a wonderful night. Can't wait to come again!

We called in on a Wednesday lunch time after a visit to Dorchester Market. Unfortunately we had not thought to make a reservation. It was a wet Wednesday, after all. They were fully booked. However we were informed that a table would be available in about thirty minutes, so would we like to have a drink and wait.We did and were pleased that we did.The food lived up to our expectation, excellent.Our visit was enhanced by the friendly and helpful staff.We will no doubt return.

Visited with family after seeing great reviews online. We had a friendly greeting at the door and were shown to our booked table. Full COVID19 precautions were in place with dividers separating tables and staff wearing protection. One of our party needed gluten free food and the chef was willing to adapt menus to take account of this which was very helpful. All meals were tasty, plentiful and good value. Staff were attentive and friendly and we were generally impressed and will certainly visit again.

Went here for lunch whilst on holiday in Portland. The Steak & Stilton pie was just as good as others have suggested. My expectations were high and I wasn’t disappointed! Mum enjoyed her steak and Dad raved about his devilled kidneys. Warm, welcoming atmosphere, dogs welcome, we’re going back again for lunch today! Oh, and Sticky Toffee Pudding... yum!

We passed this great looking pub at the end of the Maiden Castle to Hardys Tower walk and immediately booked for the next day lunch table for five and we weren’t disappointed in the slightest. This is your quintessential English village pub, I’ve been in a few and there aren’t many better if any.Excellent local ales and a menu to match if not better, all provided by welcoming hosts and a wonderful ambience. If anything the menu offers too much choice, took me ages to decide, but for the record, devilled kidneys ( superb) and faggots (so very tasty) and top notch wines, at reasonable prices.Get along there, you won’t regret it. Cheers to all at The Brewers.PS Covid protocols all reassuringly spot on.

Staying in Upwey for a week and so pleased we had a chance to visit. What a lovely pub. Fabulous garden and outdoor space, beautifully kept and Covid secure. Inside lovely too. Welcoming, comfortable and again all precautions taken for Covid. The landlord was professional and friendly as was the lady working there. Had a ‘light’ lunch; cod goujons ciabatta and fries. Absolutely faultless and delicious. Apparently the cask beer was good too. Wish we’d found earlier in the week. Menu looked great. Dogs allowed in too. What more would you want? They have rooms too which I suspect would be lovely. Great experience, thank you.

We arrived after service for lunch halfway through a long walk but they offered to make us a panini. Excellent food best chips ever came with them and a decent pint in their beautiful garden all for a reasonable price. Very friendly and very clean. X

Covid safe with wooden dividers between tables unusual but cosy . Varied menu . I had the beef stroganoff with a wonderful creamy sauce. The other half had scampi which was slightly overcooked surprisingly. The desserts were lovely

Five stars BUT one of the most awful vegetarian Thai green curries I have ever eaten. A plate of glutinous tasteless sauce with a handful of over cooked vegetables in it. Had to leave it found it so inedible So why the five stars ? The burger ordered by my husband ( and shared with me bless him ) was one of the best we have had. Beautifully cooked and a gorgeous pile of hot skin on chips. Service was fantastic. Really friendly welcoming staff. Cleanliness couldn’t fault. Thoroughly recommend this pub if you are in the area Would we return YES. Next time I’m ordering the burger !!! :-)

Spending a week locally, the Brewers Arms became our default eating place - a take-away, Sunday lunch and two evening meals, all excellent. Very Covid-aware and we felt ok eating inside. Compared with many local hostelries, the staff have maintained a large menu including pizzas, and three different Thai curries. The dessert menu is also very appealing. All the food was beautifully cooked and presented, staff unfailing pleasant.

Having diabetes means that sometimes, finding places to eat of an evening can be difficult and especially so with the current restrictions in place.I arrived quite late, having been turned away from 3 other establishments and my blood sugar levels had crashed lower than was safe for me. I was taken care of from the minute I entered and explained my situation. The kitchen was about to close but the chef still found time to cook for me and for this I shall be eternally grateful. The meal was fantastic.I was impresssd by the friendly attitude of the bar staff who obviously enjoy working together. I would return in a heartbeat.

We had a meal here last year and was so impressed that we decided to have a four day break here.Our accommodation was first class at a very reasonable price, breakfast was included and was excellent, sets you up for the day. We had two evening meals here, excellent choice and great value for money.All the staff are excellent, nothing was to much trouble. We would have no problem in recommending anyone to stay here.I addition to our above comments, you are very central to places of interest to visit.Finally a big thanks to Ben, Leanne and the team for making us feel so welcome.

Good Corvid precautions. And friendly welcome.After finding out what it was about, two of us ordered Bavette steak, whilst the other two being less adventurous ordered pizzas.We were all very impressed with our choices, the only problem being the pizzas size.Really excellent thin and crispy, and sliced up nicely making handling easy,and tasty.The steaks were also said to be excellent.Two had desserts, but we pizzas eaters were overwhelmed!Coffee, after finishing our bottle of Merlot ended our Friday lunch.

Having prebooked we were warmly greeted and shown to our table. Selecting from a good and varied menu there was somenthing to tempt everyone. The food was superb both in taste and presentation. The pub had a lovely atmosphere and all staff were lovely. Covid precautions had been implemented in a very sympathetic manner. Thanks to all and we will be back. Top marks to the burger and coronation chicken salad both of which had incredible flavour.

My wife and i had a lunch here and the food was amazing and good value.Easy parking and a nice village to look around,service was good and friendly.

We took some visiting family including two hungry boys to the Brewers for a wonderful sunset meal in the garden. Felt very safe. Good system with just one group member going up to order food and drinks and that can all be done outside with scrupulous distancing. Inside tables have attractive wooden partitions which provide safety without wreckimg the atmosphere. Food was brilliant with a lovely varied menu. I had the “Grilled coronation chicken salad” which comes with toasted almonds, honey and harissa roasted cashews and a coriander and lime yoghurt - totally amazing. Really good calamari starter and one of the others had moules which were really first class (from Fowey). Good selection of veggie dishes The boys went from chicken nuggets which of course were as they should be made from free range chicken. I had lemon tart for pud which was delicious. Service was friendly and available without being obtrusive. Good range of beers including Sharps Atlantic and one from the local Copper Street micro-brewery. These change often.This is a real village pub. Ben and Leanne were great during lockdown posting all sorts of funny videos on facebook and were quickly in there with much appreciated takeaways as soon as able.Well behaved tourists, stopovers and locals will all have a warm welcome here and will certainly not regret a visit - several recommended!

Really friendly, welcoming and dog-friendly. Great British pub menu. The decor, particularly in the (very clean) ladies toilets made me smile. Service has been adjusted to accommodate the current social-distancing and there is plenty of hand-gel available. A great place for lunch.

We used this as a halfway meet up for a family meal and was very happy with all apsects of the meal. Excellent service: quick, friendly and unobtrusive. A good range of food from a larger than children's menu through to Sunday roast and a general menu. Would highly recommend the chocolate brownie desert! It was busy outside in the lovely garden with lots of space inside to distance. The prices were very reasonable. I wish I lived closer so could use it regularly.

Perfect half way stop off for supper on the way home from Cornwall to Sussex. Booked in advance and then place order before arrival. Very hospitable. Food excellent. Best pub experience we’ve had since pubs opened from lockdown. Well done Ben and crew and thanks for a great supper. Highly recommend (chips, chunky or fries, were amazing).

Booked two tables by phone, eat in the garden as lovely day. Well thought out with garden bar and food ordering. No need to enter pub if you didn't want to. Food was excellent and very tasty. All our group enjoyed it, we will be back

Totally fantastic. Of course the food was great. But the hospitality by the landlords was exceptional, relaxed and chatty.Pub classics done to perfection. Devilled kidneys, spicy and delicious, fresh caught fish and chips, delicious home grown rhubarb in the crumble. Great portions after an activity pact day.The covid measures dividers where actually great for a little privacy and kept everyone safe.

I had never been to the Brewers Arms before but wanted to social distance meet with a friend and this pub was half way. I called before to book a table and they couldn't have been more helpful.When we arrived they have sensible social distancing measures in place, but with the most warm welcome. We chose to eat in the pub garden next to the wonderful herb/veggie garden and couldn't have been treated better if we had tried.Sunday Roast ( I had the Roast Pork which was succulent, and had fabulous crispy crackling) came with an array of lovely fresh veg, gravy and all the trimmings, plus service was very quick considering the quality of the food. I have never felt so driven to praise an establishment so much and considering the current times I thoroughly hope this pub survives the next few months. Please support local businesses like this as they deserve it.

Spotlessly clean, great staff, excellent food and sensible Covid19 precautions. This was our first meal out after lockdown and we were guided through the experience with good humour and professional efficiency by the staff. The food was excellent, and couldn't be faulted.

Great pub in a lovely location. Full marks for the new social distancing measures - screens between tables, menus taped to the screens to save handling. Very minimal contact between staff and client. Food was hot and flavoursome - especially the steak and stilton pie and the calamari. Very friendly and attentive staff. Nice and relaxed atmosphere

We had an evening meal and the food was excellent - really tasted like good home cooking. Later that evening there was a live band - Stealing Whiskey - who were fantastic!We stayed in the accommodation which surpassed my expectation. Very spacious and very clean room.Look forward to my next visit to The Brewers Arms!

The most outstanding pub in Dorset. We have returned a year later and had two fantastic meals, Sunday lunch and an evening meal on a Friday. The food was fantastic, the steak and blue vinney pie was superb. The pub felt homely and lively. Customer service was brilliant from the moment I made the booking. The pub is very dog friendly.

Had a lovely weekend with dinner in the pub both nights. Food is excellent. Staff are very friendly and can’t be more helpful. Ben contacted us just before as the owners were called away unexpectedly so we could not have the cooked breakfast. He asked what we wanted and when we arrived there was a mini fridge stocked with yoghurts cheese cold meats galore. More than happy and really enjoyed our leisurely continental breakfast. Stayed for 2 nights in room 1 which is the double room. Enormous room with queen size bed. Spacious bathroom. Couple of minor niggles were the shower pressure is very low but swap for a bath and you’re laughing. The pillows on the bed are too high if you have 2 and quite hard. Those are minor though. Martin’s town is a lovely village and definitely recommend a stay at The Brewers Inn.

We stayed here in June 2019 as we were wedding guests at a local barn. The room was really spacious, check-in easy peasy. A good selection of food on their menu for the evening that we arrived. Breakfast was great and plentiful. The owners are really lovely and chatty and weren’t judgemental when I was badly hungover on the Sunday and had to make a dash for the bathroom midway through breakfast! In my hungover state I also left my pjs in the room and they kindly posted them back to us! Price was super reasonable too. Bit of bendy windy country roads to get there (which I didn’t enjoy) but that can’t be helped!

The meal started well with a friendly welcome from the staff. Our order was taken quickly and then, as expected, we had to wait a short while for the food. That was good news because the wait wasn't too long but the meals were then brought fresh and hot. We were treating our 17 year-old grandson who disapointingly was unadventurous and went for the burger! However, he did say that it was the best he had ever eaten so he was well pleased!I had the Beef Stroganoff which was really excellent. The balance of flavour was great and I enjoyed every mouthful. They can certainly cook in that kitchen and someone had obviously taken care with the balance of flavour.Desserts were good but the selection could have done with some non-sugary options. I went for the cheeseboard which was good but could have done with a smaller quantity of each cheese but a slightly wider variety to add interest.Overall an excellent meal, thoroughly enjoyable and well worth a visit. The prices were not high so represented great value for such excellent food. We will be back for sure.

Needed somewhere that was half way house so my sister and I could meet prior to Christmas, about 1.5 hrs either side. Looked at the map, saw Martinstown was about right distance and they had somewhere that served meals and had good reviews. Not disappointed, food was well prepared, cooked and served. Staff incredibly friendly and efficient. Husband loved the beer! Will definitely use the Brewers Arms again for a meet up and might even stay overnight in their rooms.On a slightly different note,the baby changing area had baby wipes and nappy bags to use. It's the little things!

We popped in here on the way to Torquay. Very good food and excellent service - you might want to book if you're a group of four or more because they appeared to get very busy.

Weather 5/10 but with a few good bits... But staying at the Brewers made it all worthwhile! I don't think I need to go on... But, the rooms are just fine... The dining is just fine too and... the breakfast - after a very comfy (and huge) bed, is totally 'getting your money's worth' and the welcome, at every juncture, is better than you'd expect from long lost family! Rudy, our dog has now (after quite a few stopovers) begun to expect and anticipate his very own breakfast sausage - he gets vocal whilst he's waiting for it to arrive!! We has our work Christmas meal last night. We couldn't fault anything. The food was wonderful but for us the service was the outstanding feature. Very attentive, no rush between courses and the young waitresses waited to clear until everyone had finished each course. These little touches made a great impresssion. We have lived in Dorset for many years but this was our first visit and will certainly not be the last! Thank you for a wonderful evening. My sister and myself called in for coffee - with my 2 dogs - log fire , cozy, lovely welcome - decided to eat here -‘Lush lunch, wine excellent. Would certainly recommend.

My wife and I had a very enjoyable meal here yesterday evening with a friend. The food was cooked to perfection. I had a steak fajita. All the pieces of meat were grissle free, lovely and tender. So tasty. All of us really enjoyed our food.

Visited here by chance on a Sunday afternoon whilst staying near by. We ate outside as we had our two large dogs with us although they are allowed in the pub, which is nicely decorated and welcoming. The staff and the locals were all very friendly and helpful . We had the Sunday roast which was lovely and ample proportions. Good local ale out of the keg and biscuits for the dogs what more could you ask for. Well worth a visit if you are in the area

We booked a table as a family of six - two grandparents, two parents and two children, and dog Bertie. The menu suited everyone and we choose a range of food. The service and price was very good, and the food excellent. Our meal was at 6pm on a Tuesday evening and although it was early evening and quiet the pub was cosy and warm. We dined there the following evening and the food and atmosphere was just as good.

This was our first restuarant on a trip to reconnect with my childhood. Wonderful food and great service. We enjoyed it to the hilt.

I cannot fault this place. The hosts are so welcoming and the food and atmosphere of the pub is great. Nothing was too much trouble. We booked the king sized room for the night and were a couple with a medium sized labradoodle. It has its own entrance from the courtyard garden which was very handy especially with a dog. The room was clean spacious and home from home. Our dog had plenty of space to move about and we know he enjoyed his stay there too. Plenty of walks in the area too. The restaurant was busy and I would suggest you book a table. Tasty homecooked food delivered by great staff. Well done all at the Brewers Arms

came here today arrived at 12.05pm was asked if we had booked a table as they were full, we chose to sit outside as it was a lovely day, my mum had one of the specials pork stroganoff she said it was absolutely delicious it must have been as she ate all of it and she's 80.... I went for the calamari with salad and added the fries came with aloli that too was amazing, so much flavour, it was our first time here and it won't be our last, the staff are all lovely and friendly, and people were arriving all lunch time whilst we were there... We have booked to come again on Sunday for lunch....

Booked an overnight stay here and it was superb in every respect. Ben & Leanne have worked hard to think of every detail for their guests and it works.

I visited this lovely cosy pub with my friend who lives in the village. We had dinner which consisted of bread with balsamic and olive oil for dipping and calamari to share as a starter. The calamari was one of the best for a long time, not rubber bands that were tasteless but morsels of the freshest seafood lightly battered with sauce for dipping. Bread was fresh and olive oil tasted of good quality. We followed with crayfish linguine which was exquisite. Lots of delicate tasting fish in a creamy and garlicky sauce which was so plentiful we struggled to finish it all. Wine was also excellent quality and not overpriced. I live in central Dorchester and sadly do not drive so being here was a really treat and if I was nearer I would definitely frequent this pub on a regular basis and get to know the owners and the regulars. It is also dog friendly and the lovely waitress made a fuss of our dog and there was even a biscuit for her! We are planning another visit very soon when we are next due another “girlie night out!”

Found this pub by luck, I am so glad we did, excellent menu, ample portion, and fantastic service by friendly helpful staff, one of our group had dietary requests that were completely met. We were most impressed by their small portion menu,.

Stopped here for lunch on route to Devon with our dog. Lovely food and the dog was spoiled with biscuits! Highly recommended as an alterative stop if you're travelling along the A35 as it's only 5 minutes from the main road.

Booking the table was easy, all the staff were friendly and chatty but not intrusive. Ben gave us a warm welcome and showed us to our table. Everyone ordered different meals, it all came out promptly and altogether with no issues. We all enjoyed our food so will definitely be back!

We went to the Brewers Arms Pub for dinner. The reservation by answering machine worked, we got a nice table in the interior for 5 people.

We've visited here a few times being local, but it was the first time we have eaten. It's a lovely pub with a good atmosphere. Constructive criticism - the cauliflower & coconut curry was a bit bland, and my butternut squash lasagne was scalding and burnt off the roof of my mouth. But it won't put off another visit, we shall just eat something else!
