We went to The Stables mostly for beers. We shared some fish and chips. This place is very comfortable and I can see why it's popular with a young, alternative and LGBTQ crowd. The background music was familiar. Loved it!... How to visit this place again on my next trip to Hereford.

Decent place and chilled out atmosphere. Glad we stopped in just to get out of the rain! Staff were great as well even giving us a discount off the wine as it wasn't chilled. If we're ever in the area again we'll definitely stop in.

We had home delivery and it was two roasts,lovely meals couldn’t fault them but they were cold when they arrived and the gravy so had to microwave them both and the gravy so we weren’t prepared for this

We have work Christmas dinner witch includes three courses for 30£.Food was just awful, carvery was just a joke with hair on the parsnips, meat dry as anything, Yorkshire pudding would probably kill someone if thrown at and stuffing could do as a bullet. Puddings, well if you can call them that another failed dish. Overall it was our first and definitely last time. We left hungry and disappointed. Shame as we all were looking forward to it.

We're so glad we looked up this place, after searching for the 'best pubs in hereford' on the web! Whenever we're in Hereford now, we're heading to the Stables to refuel! Brilliant food, good selection of drinks at bar, upstairs restaurant and friendly staff. What's not to like?!

Got to like it good ambience and place to chill

My family and I went for a carvery here recently and had a really lovely time. One of our party has coeliac disease and is strictly gluten free. The staff were really careful and attentive on this issue and provided alternatives and accommodation really easily with no fuss which was so nice. The setting was really cool in a historic part of Hereford. The building is old and full of character. One nice little bonus was the baskets of sanitary products available in the ladies bathroom stalls. That was a very nice touch. I'd definitely recommend this place if you're looking for good food and a nice atmosphere in Hereford.

Came here for bottomless brunch last night and omg it was amazing. The staff could not do enough for us, particularly Ryan (I believe that’s who was serving us). Constantly making sure everything was okay, was on the ball with the drinks and was so so friendly. The food was amazing too!! :)

We wandered in as a family of 4 to a busy bar area, welcome at the bar and told the restaurant was upstairs. The restaurant area was lovely, and the food was fantastic,and staff really friendly. It's very reasonable in price for food and drinks. Definitely be returning. Many thanks

Birthday Meal As a belated birthday we decided to have the bottomless brunch, it’s amazingly good value for money & gorgeous food Maddison was the very best waitress who has excellent customer service skills, so well done to her Yes. I would recommend this to everyone to try x

I had my baby shower here recently, friendly, helpful staff where nothing was to much trouble. Allergies were catered for and the food looked and tasted amazing. The character of the pub/restaurant also makes it stand out. I would highly recommend The Stables for any function.

We went for Sunday Lunch. (Carvery) .The place has been refurbished, looks bright & clean, super food, good price. Can't believe it was 3 years ago I wrote the above review!! We have been many times since. We went again to day for Sunday lunch, still excellent Service & Food.

Wanted to try the carvery here for a while as heard good reviews and the food was lovely however service was not! We arrived 15 mins early to our booking to be greeted by an abrupt staff member who told us our table wasn’t ready and we would have to wait downstairs (absolutely fine but they could have said it in a nicer tone) we then came back upstairs after 15 mins to be told ‘your tables over there in the corner’ we sat down and nobody came over to us to tell us the protocol so we went up to get our carvery. Staff obviously saw us standing and waiting to which we were then approached by a staff member who said it’s not ready for you yet. How is a carvery not ready? You go up and get your food when you’re ready surely? So we went back to our table and waited a further 15 mins. At this point I assumed we had been forgotten about. A staff member saw me looking around and came over and said we’re ready for you now. Meanwhile others tables were going up and getting there second helpings of food. Although, a staff member did say is everything ok for you (a positive!) to which I replied yes (I was half way through eating and just wanted to finish). Didn’t even get a pudding as didn't want to spend any more money. Wanted to leave as soon as we had finished quite frankly. Probably won’t be returning which is a shame as the food was quite nice.

Awesome food staff are great nothing is too much trouble also they now do bottomless brunch great value they now do bottomless brunch on a Saturday 100% great value for money I believe the best in hereford

Poor staf is what ruins the pub. The petty individuals run it as their own little club.

Barstaff are really quite odd and not in a good way.

I have visited this pub twice for Sunday lunch. The upstairs is very quiet and enjoyable. The feel of the pub is fantastic, the food is to a high standard and the drink choices are varied with a lot of choice. The staff have always been very pleasant and helpful. This is my favourite pub in Hereford.

The wasn't the choice of meats wet expected and to be honest the toilets needed a good scrub.. Not for me I am afraid.

Brilliant food and dessert and lots of it. Would go here again.

Vibrant busy pub in the centre of town. Really friendly and welcoming staff. Gorgeous decor. Serving food, hot & cold drinks and always have lots of well organised activities going on, including bingo, disco karaoke etc. Will definitely visit again.

Can't comment on the food because we haven't eaten in the establishment, but this place has bucketsful of "hwyl" and this weekend was no exception. Lovely owners and great staff , a friendlier place with the maddest regulars would in my opinion be hard to find.Saturday night (5/2/22) reminded me of pubs in my younger days, a great tonic to banish the covid blues (pity wales lost), superb music and Dancing and compliments to the lady DJ. Loved the dancing girl duo,think most of the young lads did too judging by how far their eyes had popped out.Will definitely be revisiting as never had a dull night.

Superb food. Fish and chips were cooked to perfection. The burger was home made & the onion rings were too. Lovely not to have onion rings out of a freezer for a change. Great choice of ales, ciders & beers. Welcoming, friendly & chatty staff. 2 mains for £14, just silly value for money 🥰

Great food, we had the cavery, my partner enjoyed the vegan nut roast and I had beef. The service was great, the staff friendly. The building is quirky with lots of character and as it was December when we visited it had a very christmasy atmosphere.

Quirky pub restaurant. Great staff, great prices, big portions. Very handy if you're staying at The Green Dragon Hotel - just out the back. Recommended.

Came here for a Sunday lunch with relatives that live locally. Got to say we really enjoyed. Lovely food and very friendly helpful staff.

This place is amazing. I was here having a great party on Saturday night. Then I was here again today, having a nice lunch with my daughter! When I went to pay it didn't seem enough, but Gemma told me "kids eat free" in the holidays. What a fantastic initiative. We will definitely be visiting again. Staff are all fantastic and so friendly ❤

Very characterful (aka very wonky floor). Staff were awesome but the food was pretty mediocre. Area downstairs for a dance to the DJ with the locals

The beer range could be better but the Butty Bach we drank was in good condition and fairly priced. The food was unusually good value, I had spicy chicken filet with chips and salad and it was excellent. Well worth a visit

The sunday carvery is the best in Hereford. Always a great selection of vegetables along with the beef, pork and turkey. Very friendly staff, historic surroundings. You must try it.

What s fantastic choice for lunch it was!! The place is quirky, dive up really well. It's charming how the rickety floor and the beans are kept. Loved it! The food was great! The spiced chicken was coined to perfection, the sausage and mash was great, the lasagne was delicious and the triple cooked chips really tasty. Although I thoroughly enjoyed my chicken, I was quite jelous when I saw someone being served their fish and chips! Highly recommended! We got stuck into our food straight away, so no pictures. And just one more thing, it's quite unbelievable that there is still a place that serves all the great pub classics at pub prices!!!

I feel like this place has gone under the radar. Some of the best food i have ever eaten hands down, the food was hot, quick and amazing. The service was top quality and the meals are fairly priced. Kids meals with a drink for £1.85 and not small portions either. Me my wife and 2 kids went here all with meals and drinks for less than £20. If your looking for really good food and a cheap meal look no further, this is the place. Will be going again.

Been here twice for Sunday carvery, both times incredible! Really good food, quick service, lovely environment. You can have small plate for £8.50 or large for £10, only one meat though. But even small plate is a great portion and it is very tasty!

Are table was on a slope so the gravy slipped of our plate and the Sunday dinner was not that enjoyable

Went to the stable pub yesterday and ordered half a larger, wow! the larger taste like piss flat as hell terrible. Stay away from there also not a tidy or cosy place horrible!
